I love Ethiopian food and this was amazing. I had a selection of vegan dishes on injera. There was so much food I could not eat it all. The sweetest lady served my friend and I and we were made to feel very welcome. I will definitely go back!
We booked a last minute break away to Castell Howell, staying in one of the cottages on site. We took 3 children and two dogs with us and had a wonderful stay. The cottage is equipped with the essentials and was kept warm and clean. The beds were comfortable and made with bedding and towels provided.
The owners were very welcoming and beyond helpful during our stay. Went out of their way to ensure we had a great time. We were greeted on arrival with a welcome basket with coffee, tea, milk, a small bottle of wine, a bottle of cider and drinks for the children- which was a very lovely gesture.
The views surrounding the property are stunning and there were plenty of places to walk the dogs locally, but was also only a 20-30 minute drive to dog friendly beaches in Ceredigan and New Quay.
There are lots of other local attractions which the owners are more than happy to advise on things you can do locally and the best places to go.
The property is very out of the way, so phone signal was an issue, however, there is wifi in the communal areas- bar and pool.
We swam in the on site pool every day and visited the bar as well. It was very quiet so we had the pool to ourselves and had excellent service in the bar. The pool was warm and had changing rooms with showers and toilets as well.
The facilities could definitely do with a bit of a clean and updating but this doesn't take away from the overall experience we had.
The kids had a blast and we welcomed the break from our phones and work. In fact none of us wanted to leave!
We will definitely be returning, thank you Castell Howell!
Breakfast Roll to die for!! Sausage, egg, bacon and swap the mushrooms for black pudding... best £3.20 spent of a morning! Fills you up way past lunchtime! Keep up the good work ladies!!!
OMG !!!!!!!! What a roast dinner!!!!!! Had 2 adults dinners (1 pork & 1 beef) & a child's chicken dinner & needless to say, we've eaten our food, thoroughly enjoyed it, to the point of already booking in again for next week!!!! I'm speechless, not just because I'm full, but THOSE DINNER'S........ JUST WOW !!!! You'll not be disappointed in going here, this place is extremely tasteful!!!! It's ALL BLOODY AMAZING...... And Steve, to talk to, is polite & nothing is an issue 👍🏽👍🏽 the staff are incredible and it's so clean and tidy too. Take my word, I've eaten Sunday roasts for over 40 years now and this is up there with the very best 💯💯💯 thankyou to everyone at the Windjammer and keep up the amazing work and efforts, on behalf of our children, Suz and myself, thank you once again!!!!!!!
My daughters had a small breakfast each and I ordered a jacket potato with chicken and bacon. Superb food. Was freshly cooked. Nice big portions was the nicest scrambled egg I've tasted. Waitress was lovely made pleasant conversation the gentleman who was cooking who may have been the owner was very pleasant as well. Shall be back to try the breakfast
Attentive staff, nice atmosphere and good sushi. Plenty of unagi (eel) which we love! Delicious fresh seaweed salad. What a treat to have a Japanese restaurant in our local town!
Food was good, disappointingly no fresh coffee, only instant😞 as a restaurant thought fresh coffee would be standard fare, also no alternatives to cow's milk, also no ice available for a cold drink🤔,pot of tea served with a miniscule container of milk....
What an incredible pub! The Olde Bull Inn is everything a proper pub should be; welcoming, characterful (17th century), and with excellent beer and homemade food. It’s cosy for cold weather, and when it’s warmer there is plenty of outdoor seating where the views are fantastic. Take a detour from the main road and spend some time at The Bull; you won’t regret it.
We were practically dragged in off the street, not by the staff but by a customer (whom we knew) , otherwise we probably would have gone elsewhere. Our enforced choice was perfect. lovely snack/lunch - excellent Welsh language service and a local ambience - good value for money. The home made "pwdin reis" (Rice Pudding) looked great but maybe next time. Excellent little cafe. Good choice made on our behalf..!
A small coffee shop and deli towards the end of the High Street, the choice of food is quite limited with about three cakes to choose from, a couple of sandwiches and a soup. That is pretty much it, but it suited us. It’s light and airy, and there is also a garden at the rear for the warmer weather, although this was closed on our visit.
We opted for a tomato and red pesto sandwich, and a goat’s cheese and fig sandwich. Both were served with a small side salad accompaniment. They seemed a little small I thought, given the price point, but they were both nonetheless very tasty. An accompanying latte was also pretty good, and all the staff seemed friendly.
Overall, if you don’t mind the limited choice, well worth stopping by.
