Sushi House in Monmouthshire

Attentive staff, nice atmosphere and good sushi. Plenty of unagi (eel) which we love! Delicious fresh seaweed salad. What a treat to have a Japanese restaurant in our local town!

Love this place. Tasty authentic food at reasonable prices. Warm sake, gorgeous! Friendly staff able and willing to explain the menu. Tables big enough for multiple dishes which always seems important when you're with a group. Will definitely come again. Thanks.

Very nice Lunch with amazing food for an affordable price. A very relaxing atmosphere and lovely staff as well. Would highly recommend to anyone who hasn't been.

We come here fairly regularly - the sushi is really excellent, I’ve had a lot of sushi and this is really good. The portions are good and the prices reasonable. They’ve recently expanded the menu and there are some great additions. Definitely the best sushi for miles around!! The other Japanese dishes are really great too - particularly the veggie yaki soba.

Sushi House has just started opening at lunchtimes, so go now while they are quiet...because it will be busy very soon. We just had a wonderful fresh lunch there. We will return very soon.

We booked a table of 6 for 7pm and did not leave until 9pm. This was not due to the wonderful atmosphere, but down to the ridiculous and poorly managed restaurant. Multiple times they came to us with food or drink unavailable and no apologies were provided. The staff strolled about as if they had sod all to do and laughed at their poor management. Additionally, one member of our party didn't eat until 8:45 after ordering at 7:15!! Ridiculous. This is a sushi restaurant... Surely it doesn't take that long to prepare raw food....

We all love sushi and honestly visiting family and finding this place was brilliant. The service was excellent and the food, not only fresh and delicious but amazing value. Definitely worth a try.

Stopped by to order a takeaway. Service very polite and if I was unsure about any of the items, the guy serving explained what it was. The menu has lots to choose from and they are happy to adapt. Prices reasonable for sushi of this quality and it was freshly made to order for us to collect when we wanted it. Enjoyed the food and will be retuning. The restaurant is basic inside and could do with some colour to give it a better atmosphere, but guess that will happen in time. They serve alcohol which was reasonably priced, including sake. Beats Waitrose sushi by miles.

My teenagers and I love sushi and we were not disappointed. The set sushi plates are delicious and really good value, tasted super fresh. Soft crab deep fried was a lovely starter. My husband had terryaki salmon which he really enjoyed. The deserts are interesting, small and not too sweet, very different from English desert. The service was helpful, authentic and pleasant. The room itself is basic, it used to be a greasy spoon and shares toilets with the next door venue. Wine was nice and good value, a short wine list,sith Japanese drinks which I might try next time. Will definitely be back, good value and delicious.

We attending this restaurant this for my little sisters birthday. This was easily the best sushi we have ever had! We had numerous dishes to choose from and the ones we choose were all so delightful. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful. the food was quick to come out. All in all I would highly recommend this place! They really know what they’re doing. Thank you for a fantastic evening.

Our first visit to the Sushi House and we were really impressed. Large selection of dishes, with Veggie, fish and meat, hot and cold options. There were five of us so we tried a good percentage of the menu and everything tasted great. The atmosphere could be improved with some music possibly

Absolute hidden gem. Best sushi I've had - superb flavours and textures, and served fresh and fast. The fried starters are also hot and fresh and make for a lovely meal. Don't skip this place - it doesn't get the attention it deserves. Only opened in September, so no reviews in yet it seems. But I highly recommend you check it out and leave one.
