Whole Earth Bistro in Monmouthshire

I ordered a takeaway from here and the food was delicious! Authentic flavours and super tasty dishes with proper spice. The lady was friendly when we picked it up. My only issue was that we didn't quite order enough food for 5 of us!

Prae is a friendly, welcoming host and the restaurant is relaxed & spacious in a quiet corner of town. The Thai food is authentic and prepared to an extremely high quality. Would highly recommend visiting.

Went for their green curry with tofu and Pad Nam Prik Poa with tofu mushrooms. The curries were freshly cooked and exactly what we needed after our day of hiking. Love the idea of a cafe and Thai bistro because we also took some cake home for later which was also delicious.

Been here a few times for dinner and the lady running it so nice and caring about her customers and the food :) and of course the food does taste very good- definitely try the spring rolls!! 😋 always leave feeling so satisfied and full.

The food here is delicious, especially the Thai dishes. The lady who runs the restaurant is delightful, nothing is too much trouble. There are clearly lots of local people who eat here. It is a hidden gem off the main high street. You can BYO drink in the evening.

We came in our of a thunderstorm, with a toddler ahead of their evening menu time and asking for vegan only food and they met all of our requirements. Our son also loved their jasmine rice and the pad thai was great. Highly recommended.

Beautiful, bountiful food served up by really friendly staff at very reasonable prices. I had a bacon baguette and my wife had smoked salmon with cream cheese, both presented with a delicious side salad which had a fabulous, made on site, dressing. Highly recommended if you're visiting this lovely town.

Had an amazing meal here to celebrate my birthday with friends. Staff were very friendly and unexpectedly gave me a birthday cake to celebrate. Would highly recommend this bistro 😊.

This little wholesome restaurant is hidden down a cobbled side street of Monmouth. Home made Thai recipes, we shared a vegan Pad Thai and vegan Tom Yum with additional rice, light and flavoursome food. They left us full, but not feeling uncomfortable. Good and friendly service without any bells or whistles, perfect if you need a quick pit-stop between quests. They also serve breakfast and more traditional British lunch menu. Homemade frozen meal are available to takeaway, which is such a novel idea!

14 of us had the most fantastic meal here, one of the beat Thai restaurants I've eaten at. Thanks to Prae and her team for hosting our university reunion

We had a very good evening meal hear on Saturday . The Whole Earth Cafe turns into Thai Nights on Friday and Saturday evenings. We would recommend it to anybody. Allergies are not a problem as the is fresh.

We visited this little bistro this afternoon, had sandwiches, soup, hot chocolate, and cake. Lovely fresh food, very simple but just what we wanted. The staff were kind and amenable, the owner the sweetest lady ever, and although my kiddies are small and very loud, they treated us with kindness and understanding. Thank you!

Great restaurant located in heart of Monmouth. We ate on a Saturday when Thai menu was on offer. The pad Thai is honestly one of the best we have eaten. The restaurant doesn’t have a licence but you can bring your own wine/beer. The staff were very kind, we arrived after a long day walking Offa’s Dyke and really looked after us.

Got a takeaway and it was pretty standard Thai food - surprised by the high ratings to be honest. The person who served us was quite abrupt which has put me off trying it again - must have had someone else to who other reviewers seem to mention.

We always have the Thai food here for lunch when we are in monmouth a few times a year. What I do like is that the owner always seems to either take your order , serve you or just visit the table to ensure everything is just what you wanted.

Held a 60th birthday family meal in the newly added dining room (v pretty with mirrored wall at one end). It was a wonderful evening Food exceeded expectations. Prae went the extra mile and prepared some divine Thai fresh spring prawn rolls in rice wrappers accompanied by a special dipping sauce. This was followed by platters of freshly prepared mixed Thai starters, soups, bowls of green, massaman and penang curries and pad thai. All full of flavour (thank you Prae and Bev). We had two chefs in our family party who had a great evening! The staff were fabulous and really looked after us. Water jugs replenished without asking. These little touches make all the difference. As you take your own alcohol (just pay corkage) you can enjoy your favourite celebration drinks without breaking the bank. Bottles were delivered earlier in the day and chilled to perfection We sorted the menu in advance as we were a large party - everything ran so smoothly. **highly recommend**

Lovely little bistro. The lady that runs it is warm and friendly. Had tea and cake in the afternoon and returned for evening meal. Small menu but everything cooked fresh. Delightful. Will definitely return when next on holiday.

We were treated to a delicious feast of the most perfect tom yum soup and the mixed starters were superb followed by moreish pad thai, beef salad, panang curry and a chicken dish. Generous portions to the point we needed a doggy bag and the owner kindly gave us extra rice! Wonderful friendly service too despite being busy. Looking forward to going back :)

The best a Thai food I have eaten outside Thialand. The vegetarian options are all fantastic, I find it hard to choose.

This is a nice venue, more café than bistro, but cosy and welcoming. Service is a little slow but attentive and friendly and I particularly like the fact that you can take your own alcohol. Where I seem to differ with most reviewers is that my party and I did not consider the food to be special enough to warrant the high ratings being given. Nice but not five star special.

Man, this place serves good Thai food. Beautifully fresh, incredibly tasty and absolutely authentic. Service is friendly and welcoming, clearly coming from a passion for feeding people very well. Highly recommended.

This place was a little hidden jem. We stopped her for a mid afternoon light bite. We had the soup it was so yummy, full of Thai flavour. We were pretty surprised they were offering food not just at lunch and dinner. Would recommend

We were looking for a place to eat in Mornmouth and everything was shut. The Whole Earth Thai Bistro was open and I am so glad we decided to come in. Very funny and friendly staff who are proud of their food. The Chef wanted to remake a teacake because it wasn't perfect, and then offered a free drink for the wait! Perfect for locals and tourists. Definitly coming here again.

This place offers top quality Thai food. So good, in fact, that we went back for lunch the next day - and bought some frozen curries to take with us. Very helpful staff make this place a favourite for us. Spring rolls - not to be missed

Had a delicious dinner here, one of the best Thai food we have ever tasted. The pad thai was simply amazing. Very friendly staff, great service, had a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Open for dinner only on Friday and Saturday.

Ate outside in nice secluded courtyard as full inside. Delicious fresh Thai food and plenty of it.

We had a hankering for Thai food, and there were not many options near Clearwell (where we were staying) open at lunchtime. So thank goodness for Whole Earth Bistro. We were not disappointed. Scrummy pad Thai (one tofu, one chicken), delivered at speed. Filling, too. The owner was charming and seemed to know most of her customers. Can see why it is so popular. I'd be back all the time if I were a local.

Good food and coffee, although a bit more expensive than many places in Monmouth. Service was very pleasant although a bit slow at lunchtime; we had to wait half an hour for our two jacket potatoes

Wonderful cafe. Very friendly staff. Immediately bought our hot dog some water, offered to fill up water bottles for our walk. Lovely selection of teas and a nice quiet spot. Highly recommend!

This was such a delightful find in Monmouth. We stumbled across The Whole Earth and had the most delicious Thai lunch, all homemade and served with a smile and superb hospitality. Would recommend visiting if ever nearby.

The best fried rice around. Very authentic, as it is not supposed to be spicy!!! Perfect. As is the staff 😁. Chef Jim is an excellant Thai cook and owner Prae cannot make you feel more welcome. If you visit Monmouth, then this is one place you should have on the top of your list to visit.

OMG the thai green curry and the wonderful lady owner. You simply have to go. She gave my wife a huge piece of delicious home made cake for her birthday.

Found the place through trip advisor. Very charming and welcoming staff. You can feel the authenticity of the Thai food as soon as you start your conversation with the chef. Also the combination of Thai chef and a Welsh chef under one roof brings you that unique identity to the place. We ordered Thai food and cakes to finish off for our weekday lunch. All made in house and fresh. Definitely recommend it.

The Thai landlady is kind and friendly. The authentic Thai food is delicious and highly recommended.

The food was excellent, had a Massaman and a Panang. The staff are also really very friendly, to top it off its bring your own alcohol. Would visit again.

The food and drink were good, very good, .however the place looked tired, it needs something to brighten it up. Two things would help, new chairs and tables,and to be decorated.
