Best pizza in town, tasty pasta and you *have* to try the zucchini fritti!

Excellent Italian food. We both had pizza (funghi and gorgonzola) preceded by fried rice balls and a caprino, and the food was absolutely excellent. Didn't take an excessive time to arrive either, and the service was superb. Definitely recommended.

What a lovely experience. The lady on front of house couldn't of worked harder if she tried. Service was brilliant. The food well.. if you've not tried it you've seriously missed out. Lasagne perfect all 3 pizzas of different variety perfect. The ravioli my nan said was incredible. Lovely vibe and a brilliant team. Thank you again.

Second visit to this restaurant, which did not disappoint. We started with the deep fried seafood, which was tasty and beautifully cooked. We also had the thinly sliced pork which was nice but a bit bland. My main was the penne pasta with chicken livers which was delicious and full of flavour. My companion had the tagliatelle bolognese which he described as very tasty. The staff here are friendly, the service is very good and the prices are reasonable. The quality of the food and the ambience are not reflected in the outside of the premises. I am sure many people pass this place by thinking it is just a basic pizza restaurant, when it is actually much more.

Very nice food / experience. Can easily recommend but I would suggest booking. Parking after 6pm is free close by. There again this evening and food is as delicious as ever and great service.

Best Italian in Abergavenny. Food always amazing, staff are amazing too. The resteraunt is cozy and always warm in the winter. Lovely atmosphere. My husband thinks the spag bol is the best he’s ever had and the garlic bread stack is so tasty. Great value for money for the quality of the food and love the little carafes of wine. Will keep on coming back.

Delicious food, great service and no need for unnecessary frills. Both had pasta dishes which were extremely tasty and not just the standard options expected….and reasonably priced. White wine matched perfectly and the server was friendly and helpful throughout our visit. First time but will be going back again soon.

Ninth visit this year and everyone has been excellent. Great food, great service. We've tried to be unfaithful and suffered two really poor meals at other Italians in town.

Visited here while staying with friends in the area. The Food was excellent, good selection of options on the menu and 'specials ' board, portions were huge - lasagna could easily feed 2 people and pizzas were lovely. The restaurant itself was light and airy with an open kitchen to one end. However the service sadly let this place down. It was a quiet night, but our server was rather abrupt and service was generally cool . For this reason, although we regularly visit the area, I think we would prefer to eat where we are made more welcome.

An unassuming place with good food and friendly staff. I enjoyed my starter of goats cheese with pine nuts and Main of spaghetti aglio e olio. Hubby enjoyed his starter and main too

Returning customers you really can’t fault Pizzorante. Small and family run (also a bit hidden away) the pizza’s and pasta dishes are spot on. Specials always look good but when you can get pizza/pasta dishes so good you don’t need to go off menu

We stumbled across this hidden gem. So unassuming but so glad we gave it a chance. An absolute gem, staff were so accommodating despite them being fully booked. The service and food was absolutely fantastic. We had to have dessert even though we were stuffed from our mains, we didn’t have any starters but they looked and smelled delicious. Would 100% come back if we were in the area again.

An absolute brilliant family owned and run restaurant, serving the best Italian food for miles around. Forget the others and the unfriendly ordinary chains - go to Pizzorante. You will not be disappointed. Service, atmosphere and food all first class.

What an amazing find! Such friendly,helpful staff who helped get my friend,a wheelchair user, to our table. Delicious food from the garlic bread starter,seafood risotto,Gorgonzola pizza & the “best steak” my brother had eaten in a long time. Not to forget the Rum & raisin ice cream with spiced rum! The only downside is that we didn’t find it at the start of our holiday so we could go again!

Racist staff who turned us away for a table, after we spoke with an English accent. Staff were friendly until we spoke and they stated that there were no tables available all evening, even though half of the tables were empty and it was after peak times. Safe to say that we are glad that we didn't spend any money here. We wouldn't normally post a bad review, but we wanted to warn other customers.

Love this restaurant. It just never lets us down. Another birthday and another lovely meal. Having walked in the Brecon Beacons all day they didn't bat an eyelid at our walking gear. Maybe they knew that we'd be hungry 😁. Thank you for taking care of us x

A popular, friendly Italian restaurant with a good choice of pasta, pizza and special dishes. The service was efficient and our large party enjoyed our meals. The only slight issue was that the temperature was very high in the restaurant due to the lack of air conditioning.

Stumbled on this gem of a restaurant when looking for Gaff (future visit planned), and what a find it is. Fabulous authentic Italian homemade food, so many delicious choices. Will definitely revisit. I always guage the credentials of a great restaurant on the calamari, it has to be prepped correctly (for me no elastic, if you've eaten calamari and experienced this you'll know exactly what I mean) the calamari here melted like butter and the prawns were absolutely amazing. The food is worthy of the 5 star rating as are the friendly family that run it. If you want a real treat where all the family can find something delicious to eat and drink, look no further.

Fabulous friendly welcome, food was amazing. Mixed sea food starter, calamari, prawns and whitebait, delicious. Pizzas made with fresh home made dough, made infront of your eyes, best pizzas we've had, and you can add options, fresh chillies for me. Tiramisu for pud, I know we shouldn't but who could resist, then espresso to finish. Go on treat yourselves, this is a gem of a place, truly authentic.

Well I'm not to keen on italian food. There so same same. This place absolutely restored my faith in Italian food. Absolutely delightful

The service was very good with friendly staff, but the pizzas are either per-made or bought in frozen, and no better than a takeaway - no crust and not fresh. Disappointing.

Got to be my favourite Italian restaurant in the area, also their GF Pizza bases are the best around, along with a great Vegan Cheese. On top of that, such a nice atmosphere, a credit to all involved, looking forward to going again very soon.

Best takeaway pizza in the area

Had lunch here today absolutely fantastic the best pizza i have had outside of Italy and i worked there for 5 years . Highly recommended.

Nice family run pizza place near the market in Abergavenny. The starters were excellent, we had the fried courgette and the seafood platter. The pizzas were nice but didn't blow my mind unfortunately. We also chose the frangelico semifredo for pudding which we weren't crazy about which is a Shame because we love frangelico! Everything is clearly homemade though and you can see it being made in front of you due to the open kitchen which is lovely. Overall I don't think I would come back but I would recommend to anyone who wants an authentic home cooked meal with friendly service!

Chose this location for dinner based on the reviews and it was 100% worth it. We were just able to get in without a reservations (10 mins later and we would have missed out) . A lovely family run restaurant where both the food and service were great. An open kitchen allows you to see the team at work in the kitchen knocking out pizzas and pasta dishes left, right and centre. Very well priced, too!

Great authentic Italian food. Had a pizza and some of the ravioli, both were excellent. The kitchen is also open to the main restaurant area so you can see all the food being prepared which is very entertaining. Price is very reasonable! Clean bathroom and fast service.

The food was A1 but there is a but! 1. The take away price is the same as the sit down service. 2. Having just ordered a takeaway costing £30 plus and paying via cash card we sat waiting. During this time we ordered two cans of soft drinks because we were thirsty. The charge was £5. On producing the cash card again to pay we were told that they were only prepared to accept a cash card for orders of £10 or more. We did not have any cash so the waitress took the cans back and we were left there thirsty waiting for the takeaway. Whilst I am aware that there is a charge for using a cash card surely even taking this away from the cost of the two cans of fizzy drinks there was still a very handsome profit margin left at £2.50 a can! Now is it me or does anyone else think this to be extraordinary! Unfortunately now since I believe this to be shabby behaviour we will not be patrons at this venue in future.

We managed to fit in a lunch at Pizzorante in between lockdowns and it turned out to be a real treat in more ways than one. The food turned out to be some of the best Italian food I have tasted in the UK! Not a huge menu but very authentic recipes and flavours and served by very pleasant owners who quite rightly take pride in their restaurant and food. I can't wait for the restaurant to open again, I only hope they will have survived the crisis!

Best pizza in town bar none. Tucked away and unassuming is this little authentic Italian number. Smallish but perfectly adequate menu supplemented by a daily specials board it offers excellent quality Italian fare without breaking the bank. Has a good wine list with a nicely quaffable house wine. In short, top of the range & I'll be back for more soon.

Second post-lock down meal had to be here. Once again just as good as pre-March 2020 and ate off the specials board.

We'd eaten at the sister restaurant Tapas Twist on out first night and booked this for our last night in Abergavenny. Nice to see the same waiting staff from Tapas Twist serving us again! Porchetta starter very good - nearly as good as some of the porchetta restaurants in Rome. Lasagne was large and straight out of the oven, and the pizza was thin and crisp and well topped. Small 50cl carafe of house red was very drinkable and good value.

Amazing, food, service and ambience. Highly recommend! The Parmigiana was a particular favourite and the seafood risotto was out of this world.

Really liked the friendly smiley vibe and the food was great too. Fiorentina pizza/ensalada mista/tiramisu all hit the spot, but the surprising winner was the salad. NOT your average boring side salad: skinned roasted peppers (I appreciated the effort), the ripest reddest (and yellowest) tomatoes, and a kick-ass dressing which added up to an explosion of flavours. Yum!

Stunning. Beautiful food in a charming setting...authentic dishes, friendly service, great value. A perfect end to our Welsh holiday. Thanks to all the staff at Pizzorante!

We struck lucky, it as a very hot evening and we bagged the last outside table. Great starters of the bruschetta and the beans and fantastic pizzas. The latter even did us for lunch the next day!

When ever I am in the area, I always make sure I eat at Pizzorante. A truly authentic taste of Italy, with a superb atmosphere and run by the most amazing family.
