Definitely recommend this Italian restaurant when visiting the area. Food and service was 10/10 👍 good value for money and the food was excellent. We enjoyed the sea food options from the menu and will definitely be returning to try more foods. The outside dinning was pleasant with a lovely view.

Extremely disappointed! This is NOT italian cuisine! Food was tasteless, undercooked linguini marinara,  very watery risotto scallops,  both had mussels that were full of sand and some of them were dead and should never be on a plate. Calamari was very chewy, even our dog struggled to chew on it. Staff very tight with Parmesan offerings too. Honestly not good at all. Not authentic Italian! The only thing that was somewhat decent was the bruschetta caprese. We were sorry to have picked this restaurant, based on its reviews, but being half Italian I hoped it would be at least close to Italian cuisine which we miss... Not recommended. I asked if the chef was Italian and I was told it was...a shame to the Italian cuisine!! PS. If you have a dog, you'll be eating at one of the tables by the street next to the garbage bins,  even though they do have an outdoors garden!

What a find. First time last night (23.05.2025) to visit Panevino. Staff are super friendly and polite. Great atmosphere. Very busy so it is very wise to book. Food was fantastic. Very generous portion sizes. You will not be disappointed, guaranteed.

Lovely sitting out by the river. They have blankets and a heater. The pizza and pasta were so good and we’re visiting from London so have high standards as we have so many good restaurants there. The waitress was lovely too. Glad we came here after visiting the castle

Been coming here for years but our Monday end of April lunchtime meal was very disappointing and seemed as though they were not freshly prepared but warmed up or even bought in such as the deserts which was nothing like the menu description We shall not be back

The location of Panevino was perfect for us so close to Chepstow Castle which we were there to visit. The fact it was an Italian restaurant we thought was a bonus having recently lived in Italy. The restaurant layout and choice of seats was great as were the staff, couldn't fault them. One of us had pizza which was nice but the pasta was poor, the chicken tough and the calamari was like rubber. A pity really I don't know how they could get it all so wrong.

Brilliant evening at a restaurant that really is a class above. We had planned to go for a quick meal during our stopover in Chepstow, and managed to book a table for 2 at 3 hours notice on Easter Saturday. And to say our expectations were surpassed is an understatement. In a picturesque location by the river, this place is a hidden gem. Our waitress, Jess, was super friendly from the start, and the speed the food came out was just ridiculous. We had finished starters and mains within 45 minutes of sitting down, and the food was up there with the best Italian food we have had over the past few years. Jess gave us recommendations for some post-meal drinks and was a credit to the restaurant. Thoroughly recommend for anyone passing through Chepstow.

This was my first visit to Panevino. I was with 3 friends having dinner, I didn't realise that from our table you could see the river! I had a sharing plate of Antipasto Crudo which was ample for all of us to share. A good selection of meats and lovely bread. We also had the bread and balsamic. For main I had the Gnocchi which was in a really lovely cheesy sauce and the Gnocchi was light and fluffy. We had a bottle of the Merlot and Pinot. Overall, the food was fantastic, and the service impeccable. One of our waitresses Imogen, was so friendly and efficient, she went over and above in service. I look forward to returning again, to sit outside and enjoy the river views.

Absolutely amazing time at Panevino recently, this was my second visit and I certainly wasn’t disappointed! It was a really busy Thursday evening, but service was quick, professional and very friendly. Everyone at my table enjoyed their food, each dish was nicely presented, tasted delicious and appeared good value for money. The atmosphere in the restaurant was wonderful and really added to the night. The location is great too, with some lovely river views, perfect for locals and tourists alike. A special mention goes to waitress Imogen who genuinely went above and beyond sorting out our orders and requests, surely the most helpful person in Chepstow and a credit to the business! I would definitely recommend Panevino and I’m looking forward to my next booking.

Absolutely delicious meal. I had very generous portions of sea bass with prawns, mussels, a tomato sauce, vegetables and salad. 😋 My friend had a huge calzone, again with a side salad. Coffee very good and complimentary limoncello. All very good. Glad we ate early, as it got very busy. Super place. ✨️

We booked here after reading previous reviews and were not disappointed. The restaurant honoured our request to give us a view over the river. All of the staff were really friendly and helpful. I had the best bruschetta caprese I think I’ve ever had and everyone else made all the right noises about their food!

We have been here several times and the food and service are of a consistently high quality. We have tried pasta, risotto, meat and fish dishes and all are excellent. The prices are reasonable too. But book ahead as it’s usually busy - always a good sign.

Ordered t bone steak was totally unedible 16 Oz of Grissel for £32 sent back not paying wife had lasagna turned up Luke warm took it back to re heat murdered it with extra cheese not paying for that either waste of evening won't be rushing back

First time at Panevino last night, we've been meaning to try it for a while now and we were not disappointed! We had the seafood starter for 2 to share and linguine scallops and garlic pizza bread for main, followed by coffees. It was all absolutely divine! Scallops were massive and cooked perfectly. Service was excellent, everyone was super friendly and the atmosphere was lovely. We were really happy with our table and a view of the wye. Can't wait to come back and try some more dishes on the menu!

We stayed at a local 4-star hotel and decided to venture out for an authentic Italian dinner—and we were absolutely blown away! Panevino in Chepstow served some of the most delicious Italian food I’ve had in a long time. We enjoyed a fantastic three-course meal, including starters, mains, and dessert, along with drinks, all for a very reasonable £30 per person. The service was impeccable, and the atmosphere felt truly authentic, with beautiful Italian paintings adorning the restaurant. A wonderful dining experience—I highly recommend Panevino for anyone looking for great Italian food in Chepstow!

Wonderful meal last night celebrating my nephew's 50th birthday. A huge thank you to all the staff making his birthday so special! We really appreciated letting us put out the balloon and bringing along a cake. Izzy our waitress was delightful. Food excellent as always.

Came here in the morning for a quick bite before exploring Chepstow. Wow was the food here GOOD! The seafood soup was fantastic, great flavour and nice big portion. Lots of prawns and mussels with tasty bread. The pizza picate that I had for main was very fresh, tasty and filled me up. I left full and satisfied. Great waiting staff too, very attentive and quick service. 10/10 here. Especially since my wife was very ill this morning, after the soups here she left full of life and health!

Fabulous Valentines lunch, with my husband. The Restaurant was beautifully decorated, very nice ambience. Starters Prawn cocktail with avocado very refreshing, King Prawn Scillian very tasty. Main courses, Scallop languine 4 huge Scallops, lots of clams and prawns wonderfully delicate sauce. Hubby had grilled Tuna with vegetables and salad. Wine of course, a really enjoyable meal. We would highly recommend. Never had a bad meal. Thank you 😊 💓

Absolutely gorgeous food - we appreciate that Valentine’s Day is a busy day for any restaurant, so we weren’t expecting the takeaway to be as brilliant as it was. It was absolutely fantastic. Best lobster ravioli I’ve ever had. 10/10. We are well and truly stuffed and very happy. Thank you!

Such delicious food. Homemade onion rings, pizza picante and a pizza margarita with extra red onion, peppers and rocket. Great portions for the price, super friendly waitresses and a lovely atmosphere. Booked for a Friday evening and would thoroughly recommend you do as it was packed with customers. Looking forward to coming again in early summer to enjoy the view from outside also.

My daughter and I came to eat here on Thursday 16th January. We were met by the loveliest staff. Ella was manager on the day and very pleasant. We had 3 courses. Each dish was lovely. Pleasant atmosphere, friendly staff, 10/10 fillett steak 8/10 T-bone steak . Generous portion size but peppercorn sauce could be improved . Good wine selections. Free limoncello at the end !

Visited yesterday in a group of four. Our friends were delayed due to travel difficulties but restaurant very understanding. Our first visit but we will definitely go again. We all thoroughly enjoyed the food which was excellent. Lovely atmosphere and friendly service.

Phenomenal Italian food with swift service and friendly staff

We’d eaten in Panevino once before after travelling down from Staffordshire for our Granddaughter’s wedding. We enjoyed it so much we thought we’d have a nights stay in Chepstow and enjoy it again for our wedding anniversary. We checked the menu online and we were slightly disappointed that they didn’t do my husband’s favourite dish. I gave them a call and asked if would be at all possible, they spoke to the chef and he said he’d do his best. When we arrived we were shown to a lovely table for 4 people at the rear of the restaurant which was very spacious. The restaurant was absolutely buzzing. The staff were so friendly and attentive. Once we’d ordered our food arrived promptly despite the restaurant being so busy and what a lovely surprise for my husband his dish of Saltimbocca was cooked to perfection, the veal was so tender. We had absolutely wonderful meals in a fabulous setting and the complimentary dessert the staff did for us was so very much appreciated. We’d like to thank you all for making our anniversary meal so very special. We can highly recommend this restaurant.

The venue itself is lovely, offering outstanding views of the river and a warm, welcoming atmosphere upon entry. The staff are friendly and attentive, with plenty of smiles, which adds to the overall experience. Unfortunately, the food falls short of expectations and feels overpriced for the quality provided. While I’m happy to pay more for good food, I expect it to deliver on flavor and value. The seafood pizza, which I’ve tried twice (hoping for improvement), was bland and rubbery, far from the standard I’ve enjoyed in other Italian restaurants or in Italy itself. My wife’s lamb shank was similarly underwhelming, lacking flavor. Desserts were another letdown—particularly the tiramisu, which was heavy on cream and light on the coffee-soaked biscuits, making it a far cry from the authentic Italian version. While the meatballs were enjoyable, the sauce was again bland, and the portion was unbalanced, with too much dry pasta and too few meatballs. Overall, while the venue is charming, the food lacks the freshness and vibrancy you’d expect from Italian cuisine. It’s a disappointing contrast to the beautiful setting.

I loved my experience at this restaurant SO MUCH!!!!! My waitress, Cadence, was so lovely and kind, which elevated my whole experience to make it five stars! The other waitress, Lottie, was also amazing.The lasagna was banging, and the pizza is AMAZING. Cadence even recommended the lasagna, and I think it was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. I totally recommend you go here!

When my Two Brothers visit from Cheltenham, we always use this amazing restaurant and have never been disappointed. We all have a variety of starters, my Wife and I always have Steak for main whilst my Brothers make other choices. All food and service absolutely 1st class and highly recommended.

The Branzino was excellent, perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. The service was friendly and we had a really enjoyable lunch.

We called in on an off chance having just watched Gladiator ll in Newport. We were on the way back home and decided to eat out for a change. What a great place with a lovely atmosphere and very friendly helpful staff. During our meal we were looked after by Ellie the floor manager and her staff consisting of Rula, Imogen, Mallory and Isaac at the Bar. The service and the food were both above and beyond expectations. Well done to all and we will certainly call in again after Christmas.

We called in on the off chance as we were returning from Newport having watched Gladiator ll. This restaurant is a hidden gem tucked away in Bridge Street, Chepstow. The service and food were superb and all credit to Ellie the floor Manager who runs a tight ship with her team consisting of Rula, Imogen, Mallory and Isaac at the Bar. A great experience and we will re-visit after Christmas with a few friends.

A lovely little restaurant, off the beaten path, with a cosy and informal atmosphere. Excellent food, which came quickly and no request was too much trouble for the staff. We're not local, so are unlikely to return but it made our family trip to the area more special.

We parked at the Castle Car Park, free after 6pm. We were greeted promptly at the door and looked after during our meal. The menu is extensive and the food was lovely. The Funghi Con Aglio was good but the Linguini Mariana was superb with a great sauce. Very enjoyable. My vegan companions were accommodated.

This is an excellent Italian restaurant in the heart of Chepstow town centre. The food is cooked from fresh and the dishes are a good size, good value and delicious. The restaurant overlooks the beautiful river Wye and is popular. Early booking is advised or go early for a walk-in table.

We went here for a group meal and had very mixed reviews. Some of the party enjoyed their food, some did not. My partner and I were not so keen, which is such a shame as I love Italian food. It is quite expensive and as someone else was paying we opted for some of the cheaper meals. My partner had spaghetti peperoncino and I had the zucchini spaghetti. We both like spicy food, however the peperoncino was inedible (although my partner forced it down to be polite to our hosts) and mine wasn't much better. There is no indicator of the heat level but they were ridiculously hot. We had the breads for starters from the appetiser menu and the bread had a burnt taste around the edges and dried before we got to the end (there were 4 small slices), it was like toast. The wait staff were good, our waiter was very attentive and helpful, however there were 2 men in black shirts serving and the older one of the 2 seemed very irritated to be there, with his staff, with the customers. Such a shame. Maybe it was a one off as they were very busy because we have always heard good reviews about it.

Visited on the off chance around 4pm and asked for a table of two and were surprised to see so many tables already taken which is an indication of the popularity of this place. Given a choice of eating inside or out as it was a sunny day but chose an inside table. The service was friendly, attentive and polite and the choice of food was very good and a lot more creative choices than your usual Italian albeit staples were included too. We’d been out for the day and not that hungry so opted for just mains with just some bread and oils. The lobster ravioli was divine ! Our first time as not that local, but will certainly return when we can.

Visited today (Sunday) for an early lunch. 7 of us, including a busy and fussy 5year and a hard of hearing elderly grandma. The service was fantastic, we didn’t feel like we were being hovered over or rushed, perfectly attended too. The food was delicious, came out in a reasonable length of time, generous portion sizes and great selection of puddings! We will definatley be back again

On a day visit to Chepstow we discovered Panevino by chance, fortunately! The restaurant is classic, the owner and staff are welcoming, friendly and helpful. The food is deliciously divine. It was a fantastic experience.

View was amazing, but I just have to take a minute to praise the staff and their service. It was absolutely top notch. There are so many places in the UK where average/poor service is considered OK. This place clearly makes a point of good service being part of a great experience.

(Hi I'm writing this on my husband's Google account. But my name is Karen - ) Had my belated 60th birthday lunch at Panevino today. Definitely a 5 star rating all round! Welcomed as soon as we arrived, water brought immediately, table was set out to perfection (extra room as I am a wheelchair user). Drinks orders taken very quickly. The staff were very patient as we spent ages "catching up" before ordering food. The food (for 7 people) piping hot, fresh, tasty and all served at the same time. Not one person disappointed by the delicious meals. Desserts were also absolutely gorgeous. They brought us plates, knives etc for us to serve our own cake. Then kindly took what was left into the kitchen and divided it into portions, wrapped it in foil and put each person's portions in bags! NOT MANY PLACES would be that accommodating! The service was second to none, friendly, professional, efficient and we all felt totally at ease. You made my birthday lunch very special - THANK YOU PANEVINO 😊
