Delicious Italian pasta and sauces. Generous portions. Highly recommend.

A lovely little restaurant, off the beaten path, with a cosy and informal atmosphere. Excellent food, which came quickly and no request was too much trouble for the staff. We're not local, so are unlikely to return but it made our family trip to the area more special.

We parked at the Castle Car Park, free after 6pm. We were greeted promptly at the door and looked after during our meal. The menu is extensive and the food was lovely. The Funghi Con Aglio was good but the Linguini Mariana was superb with a great sauce. Very enjoyable. My vegan companions were accommodated.

This is an excellent Italian restaurant in the heart of Chepstow town centre. The food is cooked from fresh and the dishes are a good size, good value and delicious. The restaurant overlooks the beautiful river Wye and is popular. Early booking is advised or go early for a walk-in table.

Really tasty Italian food, huge portions and great value for money. Very friendly staff. Handy parking nearby next to the castle which is free in the evening. Could do with a bit of extra bathroom space, but nowhere's perfect. Highly recommend.

We went here for a group meal and had very mixed reviews. Some of the party enjoyed their food, some did not. My partner and I were not so keen, which is such a shame as I love Italian food. It is quite expensive and as someone else was paying we opted for some of the cheaper meals. My partner had spaghetti peperoncino and I had the zucchini spaghetti. We both like spicy food, however the peperoncino was inedible (although my partner forced it down to be polite to our hosts) and mine wasn't much better. There is no indicator of the heat level but they were ridiculously hot. We had the breads for starters from the appetiser menu and the bread had a burnt taste around the edges and dried before we got to the end (there were 4 small slices), it was like toast. The wait staff were good, our waiter was very attentive and helpful, however there were 2 men in black shirts serving and the older one of the 2 seemed very irritated to be there, with his staff, with the customers. Such a shame. Maybe it was a one off as they were very busy because we have always heard good reviews about it.

Visited on the off chance around 4pm and asked for a table of two and were surprised to see so many tables already taken which is an indication of the popularity of this place. Given a choice of eating inside or out as it was a sunny day but chose an inside table. The service was friendly, attentive and polite and the choice of food was very good and a lot more creative choices than your usual Italian albeit staples were included too. We’d been out for the day and not that hungry so opted for just mains with just some bread and oils. The lobster ravioli was divine ! Our first time as not that local, but will certainly return when we can.

Ambience, service & food - 1st Class. Best Rib Eye Steak that my Wife and I have ever tasted. Update: Visited again 04th October 2024, party of four. We all had different starters and mains and everything was 1st Class again!!

Visited today (Sunday) for an early lunch. 7 of us, including a busy and fussy 5year and a hard of hearing elderly grandma. The service was fantastic, we didn’t feel like we were being hovered over or rushed, perfectly attended too. The food was delicious, came out in a reasonable length of time, generous portion sizes and great selection of puddings! We will definatley be back again

Lovely food from a good mix of menu, not just pizza and pasta and a good wine list. I rang to make a booking but the phone cut off, before I could try again they had rung me. Service good from the moment we walked in the door, very attentiveand helpful staff.

Was visiting Chepstow for the day and found this super restaurant. Food excellent, the Salmon pasta was delicious as was the home made Tiramisu . Staff efficient and friendly. Very enjoyable evening, thank you.

On a day visit to Chepstow we discovered Panevino by chance, fortunately! The restaurant is classic, the owner and staff are welcoming, friendly and helpful. The food is deliciously divine. It was a fantastic experience.

I have been to the Restsurant a couple of times since I moved from S’pore December 2020. I always enjoy having meal in this restaurant and whenever my friends come from outside Wales or even S’pore, my hubby and I like to bring them here. Very recommended. Cheers, Lana Evans-Rogiet

Lovely evening, celebrating a family birthday. Service was excellent, food was great and enjoyed by all. Communication organising booking and pre-order was also great. Only thing that stops us coming back more often is our bank balance :) Thank you!

View was amazing, but I just have to take a minute to praise the staff and their service. It was absolutely top notch. There are so many places in the UK where average/poor service is considered OK. This place clearly makes a point of good service being part of a great experience.

(Hi I'm writing this on my husband's Google account. But my name is Karen - ) Had my belated 60th birthday lunch at Panevino today. Definitely a 5 star rating all round! Welcomed as soon as we arrived, water brought immediately, table was set out to perfection (extra room as I am a wheelchair user). Drinks orders taken very quickly. The staff were very patient as we spent ages "catching up" before ordering food. The food (for 7 people) piping hot, fresh, tasty and all served at the same time. Not one person disappointed by the delicious meals. Desserts were also absolutely gorgeous. They brought us plates, knives etc for us to serve our own cake. Then kindly took what was left into the kitchen and divided it into portions, wrapped it in foil and put each person's portions in bags! NOT MANY PLACES would be that accommodating! The service was second to none, friendly, professional, efficient and we all felt totally at ease. You made my birthday lunch very special - THANK YOU PANEVINO 😊

The food is exaxtly how italian food must be! Great pasta - tasts very good! The Dessert was also really tasty. The beat pasta so far at our trip. Dog is only allowed at the outside - they had some sunshade. The service was nice but forgot about us outside and didn't bring an invoice when we asked.

First time in Chepstow and it was a perfect place for lunch alfresco overlooking the River Wye. Staff attentive and friendly. The food and vino was excellent and arrived in reasonable time. Our delicious Bruschetta starter arrived quickly and the Pappardelle Gorgonzola was as good as I had eaten in Florence. Overall, a satisfying experience not heavy on the wallet.

We visited the restaurant on the weekend and were very satisfied. The kitchen is just a fire! The service is fast and professional.

We were staying on the edge of Chepstow and Panevino was a recommendation from a local B&B owner. We called and was able to book for that evening. There was really good quality food, it's a very unique restaurant and offers a wide selection of food choices, definitely more than a regular Italian restaurant. The staff were very friendly and the food was brought out quickly and smoothly. We would definitely go there again if we holiday near Chepstow again!

Went into this restaurant yesterday after checking the reviews, the waitress noted my order in a diary, I had specific request where i could just eat chicken, however even after getting the same order cooked twice there were multiple meats mixed together, when I had specifically advised for ‘just chicken’. After second time I didn’t bother changing and just removed all other meats and ate somehow since I was starving. The food was extremely average, but I paid the bill in full, as i just wanted to be out of there not ready to have one more conversation , I couldn’t eat 80% content as i don’t eat other meats. Such a waste of money and our day. I wonder if all these reviews on google were fake, as I came after checking the reviews. Only plus point was the location.

Such a wonderful dining experience today, Management and staff are so attentive. Food was first class. I was dining with my sister and her grandchildren, staff were really pleasant with the grandchildren. My sister and Husband always rave about Panvino, after my experience I have to agree. Called in while out for the afternoon, offered outdoor seating, was a lovely afternoon and beautiful location so really appreciated this. Had a starter and main course. Reasonable price, beautiful meal and boxed leftovers to take home. Excellent, friendly and prompt service. Faultless, can’t wait to return.

We arrived without a reservation on a very busy evening in town, coinciding with the Chepstow Slayer finish. Ella found us a table for 2 inside, and her service was excellent. She gave us plenty of time to choose from the extensive menu, and there was water and breadsticks on the table. We had the four cheese pizza and bbq chicken pizza,both excellent and too much to finish. A takeaway box was provided for our leftovers. Ella was an excellent server. I would recommend pre-booking and asking for a table outside, overlooking the river.

Visited as a family on three consecutive days as the food was great. Tried minestrone, three types of pasta, lasagne, pizza, calzone, desert (choc cake with ice-cream), passion fruit lemonade, normal lemonade, all was delicious. On each occasion had a table in the garden with the view of the bridge and the river - gorgeous. Good service too. Highly recommended.

Fantastic meal, with plenty of veggie options and huge portion sizes - you may want to consider not bothering with a starter if you're going for a pizza main course! The staff were great, and there is loads of atmosphere. We did wish we had requested a table on the terrace, but at the time we booked, the weather was expected to be bad. It wouldn't have mattered,though, as the terrace is fully covered ... we'll know for next time!

Lovely food, good ambiance, attentive staff added up to a highly enjoyable lunch. This is a pretty restaurant on the riverbank with ample parking in the public car parks closeby.All the dishes were tasty and in generous portions. Our friends commented on how much they enjoyed it. My Parma Ham and icecold perfectly ripe Melon starter was just what I needed on such a hot day. Followed up by Pasta Arrabiata. and garlic bread, I was too full for dessert.It was our first visit as we needed somewhere convenient for all four of us who live some distance apart. It more than met expectations and we would highly recommend it to others.

In Chepstow for our Wedding Anniversary. Booked a table in the garden, with view of the river, which I recommend. Staff were very attentive. The menu is extensive & authentically Italian. There are a lot of seafood options for both starter & mains - which are a favourite of mine. I recommend the sharing seafood platter, it was awesome. The seafood pizza was also excellent, with generous amounts of topping & a soft doughy crust. Wine list is quite expensive, but Pinot Noir we had was lovely. Our only minor grumble is that my wife had the BBQ chicken pizza - the BBQ base was a little overpowering of everything else. Overall a brilliant meal, fit for the occasion. I highly recommend.

My wife and Iwere travelling back home from the RIAT Airshow, Fairford and stopped in Chepstow for late lunch. I had seen the reviews of this restaurant and must say was not disappointed in any way. Unfortunately the only disappointment was the weather, but we still sat outside (under cover) to enjoy the views. The food and service were excellent and, if we are ever in the area again, would definitely visit this restaurant.

We have a dinner in a home style 🇮🇹Italian restaurant @panevinochepstow in #chepstow , just 30 mins drive from #bristol , it along the river bank and we sit in outdoor area to enjoy the breeze and view. The food is great, we have #beefcarpaccio and fritti misto, a deep fried seafood platter with scallops, king prawns , #whitebait and squid . The lobster ravioli is handmade and filled with lobster , the waitress is very kind to ask the chef to separate into two plates when she know we are sharing , Homemade #tiramisu is good and just melt in my mouth .

I am a fussy eater although this is Amazing food I ordered for collection today to try somewhere new and the food was incredible the service was lovely manager was so happy and polite even though she had a restaurant rammed inside and out full of people (even in the rain) all pasta dishes we ordered were fresh great portions and I can't wait to come again of an evening and overlook the river Thank you so much !! Amazing place to eat !

Food was pretty tasteless, but staff did check and worked card to compensate for terrible cookery. Awful gloopy gravy base over the prawns, the mushrooms, the undercooked pasta dish. Staff removed one main dish from the bill after replacing first attempt with an equally bad meal that was pretty tasteless and with overcooked clams that were completely inedible. Ended up with masticated clam discarded on a side plate and stuck in my teeth. Salmon parpadelle had no flavour at all despite adding salt and Parmesan. Staff very tight with Parmesan offerings too. Honestly not good at all. Not authentic Italian.

We had a lovely meal in this restaurant recently, the staff were attentive, friendly and helpful, the food was good value and delicious and the location and general feel of the restaurant is warm and friendly. Highly recommended - we would definitely go there again!

The food was excellent and well presented , very tasty. The service we felt was very functional and you were under pressure to finish and leave as soon as possible.We received an email which mentioned that if you didn't arrive within fifteen minutes your table would be given to another customer and you could be black listed, this does not give a good impression at all, indeed if I had been aware of this I would have cancelled our booking as it makes you feel not welcome and why would you come to a restaurant with this attitude. We were seated near a family who had a small child with them, the child was very noisy and at one stage running around, she was very vocal and screaming. This did not lead to us having a nice relaxing meal for our birthday's as we wanted and we couldn't relax because of this, at one stage she was banging a spoon on one of the plates. I know this is the parents responsibility but it didn't make for a relaxing stress free meal.

Best place in town, i guess. We checked every place while heading to Panevino. Had slightly too aldente risotto, almost crunchy, which was a let down for otherwise an amazing evening and meal. Came here for wife's birthday dinner. Great setting inside and outside. Attentive personnel. Did not get any discount though when pointed out desert they had missed to add to the bill. All in all - strongly recommend! Thank you, Panevino!

A really lovely italian restaurant on the banks of the river Wye. We were offered outdoor seating and were sat with a river side view, which was great in the summer sun. Food was absolutely delicious, well presented, and came out fairly quickly, I couldn't fault it at all. Service was great also. Would highly recommend this place!

I have been here at-least 50 times with my family because of how good it is!, No matter what you eat, what time you arrive, You get a great atmosphere, service and the food makes your taste buds melt! Best Italian I have ever been to in the UK!

First time of visiting Panevino. Absolutely a great experience from start to finish. Offered seating indoors or outdoors. Great menu, nice choice, offering gluten free food as well. Food was lovely, fresh and hot. Service wasn't rushed, nice polite waitress. Would highly recommend to others. You should definitely book ahead.

Very nice restaurant and service

First time at Panevino on Saturday night. What to say? The staff were amazing and friendly and the food was incredible. The sea bass was so tasty and my husband said his fillet steak was one of the best he has had. I would recommend to everyone, go see for yourself, you won’t be disappointed.

We sat outside by the waters edge, and the setting was beautiful as the sun went down.

It looks very small from the roadside. But it goes all the way back to the river. Has a garden at the front and back for outside eating. Inside is lovely. Was very busy on a Saturday night but the food was still excellent with an extensive menu. Staff were friendly and warm. Make sure you book in advance. Highly recommended would love to go back again.

Ordered a takeaway, told 30 minutes. Turned up after 40 minutes and paid. Said would be 5 minutes. Waited 15 minutes and told it would be 5 minutes. Asked to cancel order. Waitress checked with kitchen and order cancelled. So guess if you want a takeaway they won’t cook it till you’ve paid, then you will have to wait your turn in the restaurant.

Excellent Italian restaurant with really helpful and friendly staff and great food

A very spacious restaurant, with seating both inside and outside with lovely riverside views. The food was amazing, we enjoyed dinner so much we came back for lunch on our last day in Chepstow! As a result we had the chance to try several different dishes and highly recommend everything we tried including the garlic pizza bread and bruschetta starters and the scallop and crab linguines, lobster and salmon (special) raviolis, pappardelle cacciatore and risotto 'Panevino' as mains. The tiramisu was light and airy and the profiterole bianco was unique + the perfect amount of sweetness - our favorite dessert! The service was super attentive, and the food was reasonably priced. Overall a great experience :)

Dropped in late afternoon after a visit to Chepstow's hugely impressive castle. All-round, excellent Italian restaurant. Spotlessly clean and welcoming, friendly and efficient service and great food. Nothing fancy - extensive menu, good old fashioned Italian cooking. Highly recommended.

Visited on an April Monday evening, expecting it to be quiet but was actually moderately busy, a good indication of its popularity. Food is decent, not outstanding, but the serving team were first rate.

Very extensive menu - pasta, pizza, risotto and grills, large meat fish and vegetarian selections. We had garlic bread pizza, salmon ravioli and pizzas - all very good, and with great service. Highly recommended if looking for a decent meal in Chepstow and just around the corner from the amazing castle. There are tables with great views of the riverside.

Visited Friday 5th April, with a group of Dad's and sons. 7 in our party, service was 1st class as was the food. I mention sons, all in their early 20's and some of them struggled to finish their meals. Worth a trip from Newport, and I will return with my wife, especially as you have GF items on your menu. Absolutely amazing and delicious food and would definitely recommend this Italian restaurant.

Went to Panevino for dinner and had an amazing time and outstanding food. Highly recommend the vegetarian calzone as it is basically three pizzas in one big pillow. It was filled with different cheeses, caramelised onions, fresh spinach and olives - have not had such a tasty calzone yet. Lovely and lovely atmosphere - great for bigger groups as well although it can get loud. Service was quick and easy, felt very well looked after.

This was my nans favourite Italian restaurant before she passed, so it will always hold a special place for me. The food is absolutely delicious, and a great price for how much you get. Would recommend the fish here, as its such a good price for portion and so tasty

My pizza was topped with raw tomatoes and rocket, tasteless and not what I expected. Will try again.

Unfortunately a huge disappointment from coming here two years ago. Management had changed and so has the chef and recipe of the dishes. Ordered similar dishes as we did last time so we knew what to expect. Be prepared to only get a bowl Of Pasta with tomato sauce with very few listed ingredients from the description. Unfortunately the last time my husband and I are coming here. Waitresses do their best with service but manager unwilling to discuss our disappointment about the food.
