Lovely shop, lovely people. Great shop to have local, that sells mostly local produce. Psst the milk is great!

This is exactly the kind of place that all high streets should have in them. Gorgeous foodstuffs, so tempting to buy everything. I settled on a few different types of scotch eggs; the owners were lovely also. I live in Swansea and I only wish my high street had such a lovely shop, highly recommended and will definitely go back.

Big fan of this place. Lots of lovely local produce and unusual things to try. Perfect for gifts or for a coffee at the hatch. Welshcake ice cream is delicious in the summer too. Staff always polite and helpful.

Quality is the only word to describe Green & Jenks. I enjoy sitting outside at "The Hatch" quietly situated at the side of shop. One of my fave places to visit on Welfield road. Today I purchased gorgeous fresh Olive sourdough bread and delicious Scotch egg. I enjoy looking around at the interesting range of Deli type foods. The staff are polite and helpful well worth a visit. .

Lovely service today. Bought a fabulous Malbec which was super delicious. Lovely selection of cheese and was quite excited to see authentic italian sausages there in the chiller. Lovely little find today ! Will visit again!

I asked if they had a specific cheese. Although they didn't have it, they promised to look for it and potentially stock it. I went in a week or two later and they had it!!!! I was so happy. It was delicious and I can't believe they actually got it in for me! Lovely staff and great service.

I really love this place and feel very lucky to live so close... it's 5 mins down the road. All the staff are so friendly, helpful & kind and they tried to help those who needed it as much as possible during the various lockdowns etc. They stock so much lovely produce and champion local producers! If you're looking for a food based gift, or a treat for yourself I would highly recommend you try here. One of the best things about this place is their ice cream; it is amazing! So many delicious flavours to choose from (that change regularly) with very generous portions! Yum! Looking forward to visiting their Monmouth store at some point in the future.

Great deli store, and does ice cream in summer. Coffee is not great if I'm honest, I think it could do with more strength but the hatch itself that serves the coffee is very cute.

Dissapointed by the "Hatch" service yesterday(28 December). A very long wait for the coffee and the product was undrinkable (Americano with oat milk). I would not recommend.

We visited Monmouth in 2019 and again earlier this month, the ice creams are varied and really tasty and leave you wanting more! The change of the interior to a deli also means there is a tasty range of Italian specialities, the cannoli biscuits are lovely. Don’t miss this opportunity to have delicious gelato.

Wonderful new store and covers a wide range of delicious groceries. Something for everyone, from vegan to the finest wines from around the world. The owner is so kind and helpful. A lovely new addition to the grocery world of Roath.

Very good ! Please try this for lunch and afternoon tea when it is only 1 degree outside. A delicious hot potato soup plus chocolate cake makes your day! It has 2nd floor. You can enjoy the street view of this town. Unlike the traditional English restaurant decorating with dark wood, the atmosphere is lovely with light and bright white color. It you don’t mind the cold weather, ice cream is good with over 20 choices.

Stopped for coffee on a rainy day and the staff were lovely and welcoming. Good coffee, tea and eats in bright clean surrounding. Single toilet upstairs a little cramped but clean.

Always pop in for an ice cream on the way home ans througholy enjoy the choice of flavours, however some staff members are rude.

I didn't know this little place existed until they followed me on Instagram. My curiosity was piqued and today I finally had a spare couple of hours to make a trip to Monmouth and get myself some gelato. It didn't disappoint! Great flavours, really tasty. I had a hot chocolate to go with it (I didn't really need the extra sugar but hey, I was treating myself so why not??) which was also good. The terrace at the top of the garden is a real sun trap and very pleasant to sit out there on a warm day. Staff were all very friendly, speedy service. Will definitely be back!

I do think this is a lovely little cafe but recently I was disappointed to see that some canoly’s were looking lovely on a table by the window and exposed to all the flies in the hot weather. The worst thing for me is the latest craze for eating places to be dog friendly as the next thing I saw was a lady in the shop with 2 dogs and one of them with his paws up on the table sniffing the canolies.i told the lad in the shop but he was totally disinterested.

To be served half of my coffee in the saucer and no apology or to be offered a clean sauce is not acceptable. Sadly I will not be returning based on my experience today even though we always choose this family run business over the many other coffee shops when we visit Monmouth.

Nice place for a cuppa, seating in doors or out the back in the court yard. Did not feel rushed. Would of liked a bigger cup

Highly recommend this venue in Monmouth, the service is very good with friendly, helpful, welcoming staff. I had a tea and slice of cake which was delicious. The interior is beautifully decorated and very clean and tidy. The award winning gelato ice cream is a definite must.

Our first jacket potatoes with tuna. Delicious gelato. Friendly Jilly gave us the family history. Great place for lunch or snack in Monmouth.

I have visited several times and have had excellent beverages and cakes. The ice-cream looks amazing but I have not tasted it yet. I also had an afternoon tea there in April which again was very good.

Found this today after an early Sunday morning walk with a friend and we were looking for the breakfast we had earned.

Discovered this place by chance while on holiday. Tasty gelato and I had a choice of several that were gluten free. The Salted caramel was my favourite. Definitely worth a visit

Called in on a recent visit to Monmouth. Beautifully decorated bistro type premises. Lovely staff, a wonderful gluten free sandwich with a light salad followed by gluten free cake and the most super vegan chocolate cake. This place is well worth a visit and makes a change from the more commercial big named coffee lounges.

The first weekend of spring- the shop had a healthy ice cream queue building up. And what a wise queue. Worth waiting for- I eyed the Vegan chocolate cake and the fresh bakewells greedily. I could get fat here! the coffee was nice too!

Great cafe with delicious ice-cream and sweet treats (the Welsh Cakes were ace)! Was impressed by the lunch menu - although we only had soup and sandwiches it was all delicious. Definitely worth a visit when in Monmouth!

If you visit Monmouth then you must visit Green & Jenks . Sometimes when you find a gem you want to keep it a secret for your own use but this special place needs to be shared . Today we enjoyed a relaxing treat and chatted with Gilly the owner. Just Google their website and you will understand what you can look forward to. Nothing more to say except go there and enjoy.

Lovely cafe serving gorgeous gelato , but also savoury food and a wide selection of drinks and coffees . Friendly chatty staff . Sat upstairs in Swedish style surroundings eating cinnamon gelato and drinking lovely flat whites , . Perfection !

Up for a weekend in Monmouthshire and this place made me JOIN TripAdvisor! I just wanted to say what a find it is and what a WONDERFUL coffee/ice-cream/cake pig out we had! It was amazing and so beautifully done. Staff were so lovely!

Lots of flavours of lovely icecream in this nice little cafe/restaurant. On a sunny afternoon it was very welcoming.

Not quite up to the best Italian gelato but easily the best we've tried in England. Enough choice of flavours to leave me stumped for a few minutes as well. Worth the trip from Hereford despite that sounding a bit sad.

Had been looking forward to a visit here- but very slow disinterested service and a n average coffee and a very small selection of pastries at 10 am proved disappointing

We loved the homemade ice cream here, and best of all were the really generous helpings! There are lots of interesting flavours (including marmalade) and tables to sit at and enjoy eating. The waffles and ice cream were particularly good too! The cafe is in a central part of Monmouth, and has a good atmosphere.

Really nice ice cream here and was very busy on a sunny afternoon. Decent sized portions too. Well worth a visit if in Monmouth.

My mum heard of this place through the top 20 icecream places to visit in the guardian and it definitely deserves to be on that list.

We stopped off for an ice cream here last week. And were very impressed, the four flavours we had between the two of us were all delicious. So much so that we had to return again today to introduce our daughter to the gelato. Once again we were all very impressed. Delicious and large quantities. Let down slightly by slow service causing queues out of the door. Which made it difficult for people leaving. Maybe a slight shuffle around in the winter months may improve things for next summer.

We stopped here for waffles and a coffee on what was a hot summer's day.

Love coming here whenever I visit Monmouth! Scrumptious gelato and really varied flavours (try the gingerbread!), great selection of food and light bites and friendly, efficient service. We have always felt so looked after whenever we visit. Very child friendly (and dog friendly too!) Lovely little sun terrace out the back. The coffee is very good too. Can’t fault it! Would highly recommend.

Popped in here for a coffee and cake. Service was efficient and friendly, and there was a pleasant atmosphere. The courgette and avocado cake was absolutely gorgeous, and the coffee very good, and I was assured by a nearby sign that it was fairly traded, and frshly ground each week. My only slight problem was that there was rather loud music in the back room where I was, which I felt would put me off coming with a friend for a chat, however there was a little outdoor seating area and I think also some seating upstairs, which may have been quieter.

Stopped in Monmouth on route to South Wales. Always look for local coffee house. The coffee, tea and cake was fab. Big choice of ice cream. Sandwich’s looked like they were pre packed so stuck to cake. Lovely and clean inside , had a nice outside bit.

Stopped by here purely due to the need for an ice cream. The café looked clean and service was quick and friendly. The ice cream themselves while not the best I have had were tasty, and I would certainly return here on future visits to Monmouth

The ice cream looked lovely. I ordered a cornet but as I walked away and started to eat it became clear that it wasn't sufficiently frozen and soon turned to liquid and melted all down my hand. Very disappointing. My wife's ice cream didn't have this problem so I really don't know what went wrong.

We stopped into Green & Jenks after 5 hours canoeing on the river Wye in the sunshine. So glad we found this place! Absolutely delicious gelato that is made locally on site. They are dog friendly and have a lovely little sun terrace to sit out and enjoy the gelato. I can thoroughly recommend the pistachio, cafe latte and elderflower flavours. Yes, I did have 3 scoops! I’d have gladly had a 4th!

I visited Green & Jenks this morning just for a coffee with my daughter and although the place was very busy, the staff had time for everyone including me. Perfect customer service, great selection of great ice creams - gluten free options too. Wonderful.

We love Green & Jenks - good coffee, cakes and light bites in a stylish setting. Busy and vibrant downstairs, quieter upstairs with beautiful Georgian windows letting the light in and a quaint courtyard out the back. Amazing gelato too...

Love the ability to create your own sundae by ticking boxes on a cute sheet pad they have at the counter. Great gelato flavours and friendly service. Highly recommended and always pop in to try a new flavour!

Popped in close to end of day business. Lovely staff did not hurry us in any way and we were still able to go and sit and enjoy their wonderful icecream on a lovely sun- trap of a terrace. I lovely calm oasis of a place to enjoy passion fruit ice cream.

This is a delightful little shop selling coffee, cakes and snacks. But what really takes the eye is the array of delicious ice-cream available. Locally sourced milk and once you have it to hand there is a small garden at the rear away from the hustle and bustle of the town. A chance to sit and rest and enjoy!

I visited with a group of American visitors who were after a quick bite in a unique location, and they were not disappointed. They were delighted to learn the history of the family from Gilly, who took the time to give everyone a warm welcome and explained how her family came to be making Gelato in Monmouth! Thank you!

Very friendly welcome, great service and excellent food. Best waffles I've tasted outside Belgium, lovely ice cream and plenty of seating space including upstairs in a light, nicely decorated environment. Definitely recommend a visit.

Every now and then my wife says she has popped in to a lovely little restaurant that serves wonderful Gelato has great atmosphere and delightful staff. I now know what she means, this place is the sort of place that just oozes personality of the kind that reminds you of your childhood going out with your favourite Aunt or Uncle, it feels special and not part of a chain.

Having wondered past the store earlier in the day, my friend and I left it too late to catch the opening times and came back as the manager was leaving for the day. I was gutted to say the least as I'd been looking forward to an ice cream all afternoon! However I had no reason to worry, as the manager very kindly invited us in, showed us around and allowed us to buy some of the fantastic Gelato. We were amazed to hear that it was made in the basement of that very shop, and will most definitely be visiting again for a tour and tasting session!

I had an Absolutely lovely Jammie Dodger gelato. Family had various other flavours and all were really tasty and enjoyable. Returned again a few days ago but no jammie dodger left 😱 please make some more ASAP. It’s the best!!

Icecream made locally and tastes devine. Many flavours to choose from. Youc an also have cake which changes depending on what the cook makes and also a wide selection of drinks.

Upon arrival, I was greeted with enthusiasm by two young employees. Each went out of their way to make me feel at home, making the gelato I purchased even more enjoyable. The interiors and overall setting were outstanding. That being said, I was shocked at the remarks made from the manager when she assumed no customers were listening, such as demoralising the staff or commenting on their appearance ruining the “tone” of the establishment. She turned a relaxed afternoon into a very uncomfortable experience. From observation from previous visits, this business’ audience is very mixed in age - from students to older people. I feel like this ranged demographic would benefit from a more accepting manager as, comparing her interactions with older customers compared to young ones, there seemed to be a level of bias towards the older person In her service. In the Summer months, i will definitely be returning as the picturesque garden seems ideal for a hot day. The prices seemed slightly excessive (Especially for the hot menu), but I certainly recommend buying their gelato if you are willing to splurge out for the superior quality of their product. I am rating this a 3 purely for the pricing and passive-aggressive attitude of the management, apart from that, the experience was great.

The staff who served me were all incredibly lovely, great customer service, chatty and just delighful, the gelato and coffee i purchased were lovely but all of this was let down by the manager of the shop, she appeared rude to the staff and wasn’t particularly pleasant to me whilst in the shop either! She even took it upon herself to move me and all my belongings out of the main area of the shop to another table in the corner whilst I was not there as I had ‘been there for too long’ whilst revising. I will return due to the brilliant quality of staff employed in the store but am very disappointed with the customer service of the manager

Visited for afternoon cream tea for an occasion. Despite being local I hadn't been in before- being vegan I wasn't too sure if they would cater to me, but there was a incredible selection of sandwiches, cakes and treats! Service was excellent- staff were attentive without being overbearing. The upstairs room is clean, beautifully finished and bright, even on a gloomy day. A lovely little independent business I will be excited to visit again!

Popped in for some tea and cake, not much of a welcome from staff, requested a menu but was told that they did not have a menu.List of drinks & prices were on view, however prices and details of food were not on view, The manageress gave all the details regarding food verbally in a manner that was confusing and the prices unclear. My wife and I forwent the food and only had a pot of tea. I think it normal and important to be able see details of what is on offer and be able to see the prices when deciding what to order.

We celebrated our daughters birthday there and were lucky enough to have the upstairs room to ourselves which was lovely. The staff was super attentive and friendly and the gelato was the best we had for a long time!

We stopped in Monmouth for a coffee & came across Green & Jenks. You can keep your standard chain coffee shop, great friendly service & a really good cup of coffee helped down with a toasted tea cake. Thank you Beth we will will be calling in again. There is also a huge selection of cakes & ice cream available. Highly recommended.

I have been here a couple of times now and have found it to be a lovely coffee shop, ideal for a break in shipping. Coffee is good, as is the cake. Staff are friendly and efficient. Haven't tried the Gelato yet but it looks amazing. I will wait for the warmer weather to try some.Overall a great little coffee shop.

Well, its always a shame to write a poor review but we think this place could be so much better! It was a reasonably steady Saturday in Monmouth and although there were customers in the cafe, there were empty tables so certainly not full. We ordered which was tricky as there were no menus on the tables and the board opposite the counter lacked any detail at all, despite a very limited menu on offer, so you didn't know what the sandwiches were, what the soup was and what sort of salads were on offer, so you have to ask but the young girl didn't even know if there was any soup as she thought it had sold out and didn't even know what flavour the soup was either! We ordered two lattes, cake and cheese on toast. However this simple order could not be sorted, first after a wait one latte came and then a while later the cake and a while later the other latte, unfortunately the lattes looked like cappuccinos, far too frothy. After a long wait we asked about the cheese on toast and was told it wasn't going to be long. Then the table next to us which had arrived much later than we did appeared to be getting cutlery and we were still waiting for ours, it was now over half an hour, drinks and cake both consumed we gave up and ended up asking for a refund. It is such a shame as we like to use the independent cafes and in this case the decor is lovely and the staff although inefficient and clueless are not unpleasant but in future we will probably go elsewhere and wouldn't recommend this place.

My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed the lunch we had here. The sandwiches were delicious. They were made with really tasty bread and each came with a beautifully dressed side salad. The space itself was lovely, and the staff were welcoming, friendly and knowledgable. The pìece de résistance though was absolutely the gelato, which is made on the premises. I can highly recommend the strawberry cheesecake, caramel and Kinder Bueno flavours (yep, I couldn’t decide so I went for all three).

Pleasant service - if a little slow for something as simple as soup. Bread disappointing and overall overpriced. Particularly disappointing was lack of a printed menu with prices. Would not return and will not recommend.

Had a lovely lunch with my full family inc. our new born and the service was faultless. They made every effort with us and allowed the baby 'access to all areas!' for changing etc.

More than a coffee shop. We happened upon Green and Jenks when we stopped off in Monmouth for a stroll and a coffee. It was so fabulous we decided to go back for lunch and were not disappointed. Gorgeous quiche and home made salads topped off with one of their family made Gelatos which was divine.

My friend and I called here on 23/10/2017 how lovely,I waited outside with my dog while my friend picked which flavour to have only to be invited in with my pet Beth even brought him a bowl of water we were all made very welcome and Beth was lovely we will certainly call here again when we travel that way and how wonderful to find somewhere which is dog friendly. Having visited shortly after opening and not been very impressed with the service the family were in Monmouth and we tried again. The shop/parlour is still very smart and stylish with a never ending choice of flavours - the Marmalade was amazing.

This is a must if you visit Monmouth, or on a shopping trip. Fantastic tea and coffee shop with scrumptious cakes, or light lunches. And if that doesn't inspire you to drop in, the ice creams are exceptional. Loads of new flavours to choose from.

We ordered coffee here today and waited and waited and nothing. Our order had been forgotten and when asking for money back as if common. No one appeared in charge only more coerned in tsking orders and talking to locals.

Amazing gelato and sorbet, all local ingredients and a great seating area! We will definitely be back.

Very clean and bright decor. Cakes, sandwiches very fresh and the ice cream exceptional and extremely friendly staff. Loved the little court yard at back of shop. The upstairs room also was a pleasant surprise as was the Georgian theme. Toilets very clean.

I have been there several times (always on a hot sunny day when I cannot turn down ice-creams). The cakes and ice-creams are all lush and home-made. Staff is friendly and prices are not bad. Venture in and enjoy a treat! :)

Called in last thing on Sunday and even after a busy day the staff were so welcoming and jolly. The cakes were freshly baked and utterly gorgeous too. Nice little courtyard area in which to catch the last of the day's sunshine.
