More bar staff needed!! Don't think I'll be back, the staff that were there gave an unwelcome aura.

Security guards attitude stinks. Told me n my friend to get out multiple times (only went in for food) as my friend didn’t have id was was about to leave the restaurant when a security guard was like “where’s your id” so I said my friend hasn’t got id so we are leaving then she continued to be like “get out then” whilst me and my friend was trying to be sound to her. Horrible person, no wonder people don’t like security guards. Stood there until we went even though we was getting our things to leave when she continued to say “get out then” honestly got on my nerves.

I had melted chicken (Hunters chicken) with a jacket the chicken was moist the bbq sauce was lovely and the jacket was fluffy really enjoyed it, service was fast and staff were friendly xx

It'd a Weatherspoon so you know where you are. Food was alright, nachos were not very good but the wings were half decent. Service was alright

Always saying ice machine isn't working ??!! Really Good way for an easy day, because nobody stays long with warm drinks.

Had a lovely burger n chips - very tasty and good value for money. It included a drink. The refillable hot drinks are excellent value for money just £1.56. The hot chocolate is delicious!!

We popped in on a really busy day as it was the lighting up of the Christmas lights so tables were not cleaned but a nice pub I must say.

Nathan was our server this afternoon and we felt he deserved his own review as he welcomed us with an amazing atmosphere took the time to understand our order although it was completed, and easily gave us everything we needed, he is an asset to your team!

Couldn't get served, only 1 member of staff serving on a Friday night, not good. Left without ordering

Bit of a mess up with the food but it was resolved very quickly without any fuss. Very friendly staff here; one of the better whetherspoons in RCT.

-Vegan options for food and drink -I enjoyed a glass of vegan sauvignon blanc -Staff were helpful with regards to my vegan wine query -Atmosphere was meh -Cute family friendly section

The food is so up and down, but its not even day by day it's meal by meal, what I mean by this is one side of the family could have a nice dinner and the other half could be stone cold and not what they ordered. The inconsistency is incredible. Cheap and cheerful, it is spoons after all. Staff are not bad, not the worst spoons staff I've encountered.

It was quite busy when we were there but the service was great, the staff were friendly and efficient, We didn't have to wait long for our food. It was an enjoyable visit and good value for money.

Food was poor but cheap, coffee machines weren't working, no pancakes at breakfast time. Only seemed to be one staff member on duty doing everything, but she worked non stop with a smile and happy word for everyone.

It's a wetherspoons, an average one at that. Beers are cheap and it's where people gather.

When it comes to spoons, cheap is one of the main factors. You know what to expect each time. Typically there are a good selection of ales available and food is cheap but cheerful. Some spoons have a bit of character due to the former building it encompasses. The yr leuan ap iago (yes, I have no idea how to say it either), is admittedly one of the worst Weatherspoons I've ever been in. It's very dull and the main seating area feels like one of those party halls we all hated being dragged along to for some family gathering when we were kids. Ales are hit and miss. According to bar staff, people in the area prefer lagers to ales and so the selection is almost always poor (1, maybe 2 guest ales on tap). The app is usually never properly updated so it will show ales available which aren't on when you get there (normally it won't show any guest ales so visiting is a case of fingers crossed but usually ends in disappointment). One of the managers said they had reduced the price of guest ales to £1.99 in order to get more people drinking ales (ales are a love hate thing, reducing the price by 20p just isn't going to make everyone put down their lagers and switch). People aren't too friendly there. Contrary to a lot of Weatherspoons I've been in where the regulars just get on with their own thing, I've encountered a few here needlessly gobbing off at me for no real reason whatsoever. People barge in at the bar, staff are often too few and it's a long wait for a pint and when finally getting served, it just feels so bland being there that phones, laptops, tablets or even going through the Weatherspoons magazine is an essential. Food is ok, the usual. Everything else such as coffee and soft drinks are as you expect. If you live local, no doubt you will be nodding at my comments. If you don't, then either give Aberdare a miss entirely or if you really have to go to the Yr Ap wotsit, try and sit in the little 'snug' bit (instantly to the left as you come in) to be shut away from the rest of the pub.

Veryyy lively atmosphere, a little too loud. Food was good but let down in places. Five bean chilli on jacket potato was cold, garlic bread was undercooked and super greasy. Chicken strips and loaded chips were great though so made up well!!

Amazing place with prices that make you want to cry with relief.

Apart from barmaid forgetting my Guinness ok. Some elderly people said they had dinner there everyday.

You know what your getting, food is very reasonable, always nice & hot, quick service & friendly staff. Visit every Wed, 52 weeks a year minimum. Excellent.

Probably the worst traditional breakfast I've ever had in a Weatherspoon unless one likes over cooked eggs and lukewarm baked beans. Same for the egg sausage muffin 😩

Food weatherspoons standard. I had fried breakfast and a coffee. Breakfast nice, apart from sausages, bit dry. Staff nice and pleasant. Atmosphere was mainly locals vibe.

Tables full if loud, abusive drinkers on a Tuesday evening. The cheap prices attract the worse type of people.

It's a Wetherspoons. Food is cheap, looks cheap and tastes cheap. Coffee is really bitter, but you can get a refillable cup that opens the world of tea and chocolate (when it's available). Ladies loos are located upstairs up the weirdest staircase I've seen in a while. Disabled loo is on the upper ground floor, if you're wheelchair bound, you'll need to come in via the back. Service is fab. The staff are really friendly and helpful.

Pub 6/13 of our Golden Mile! Now, I don’t know if the drinks were truly hitting the spot by now, but this was one of my best Spoons encounters to date. The pint was perfect and their curry and chips were the best I’ve had from there! Even decided to throw a cocktail in for good measure! Drink up, let’s boo boo!

I can only recommend for nice and friendly and nice place for a drink and like all witherspoon pubs good value I didn't have any food in this one but they are all normally really good for value.

Air con was on, weather outside was cold and wet, froze in there.

Good pint great atmosphere , had steak and chips that I could fit in a sandwich , the steak was overdone and I could count the chips really bad value for money and the drug dealers out the beer garden has put me off visiting again. This place has gone downhill and the manager's attitude stinks , he needs a slap !!!!!!

To be honest, I wouldn't take my dog to this place to eat off the floor. The staff was lazy. All I wanted was a hot drink, 20 minutes later they refined the Auto hot drinks machine, Then waited 10 minutes for a clean cup. It's pretty much the last decent pub grub you'll find in this beautiful Village. It's because of Wetherspoons all the other pubs has vanished just like the American Indians. Witherspoons isn't your friendly Village pub, It's to strip our Villages of all its competitors. This towns turning into a Ghost Town. War memorials on every corner. It's so pretty and a very friendly Villagers. It's a shame Wetherspoons is taking over. If you don't support Wetherspoons it will shut down & you will have your Village pubs back. Your council is to blame for the break up of your beautiful Village lifestyle. If your looking for honesty. Forget Wetherspoons food & buy Iceland It's cheaper & the 🍽 cutlery will be properly cleaned.

Quite busy drinks service a bit slow

Decoration tired and uninviting. Long wait at bar for service. Food barely edible arrived cold as obviously it had been stood around for a long time before being brought to the table. We won't be back!

Start of a good night!! Food was very nice and served piping hot.

Don't bother me and my bf went there and he had 3 piece of hair in his food when told the staff she smiled and said none of the kitchen staff have dark hair take in mind his sausage while he was eating it he was pulling a long dark hair out of his mouth TOTALLY GROSS 🤢 wasn't even asked if he wanted to change his food terrible service.

Had an urge to find out what the Burns Night menu was like..Haggis neeps and tato very nice. Hot and comforting.

Just wish the staff would put more effort in. Having a beer there this afternoon and Tim Martin walked in, the staff panicked and started dashing around clearing tables and all of a sudden there was 3 behind the bar,, many get frustrated and walk away. Wish Tim could turn up on a weekly basis.

We come here regularly for the fab Weatherspoons breakfast with unlimited hot drinks. We use the table app, sit down, order on your smart phone and the food and drinks appear promptly. The staff here are great, very quick service, delicious food and overall a friendly pub!
