Really good carvery. Good value for money. Good location.

Very poor carvery roast potatoes very hard couldn't put a fork in them mash potato cold gravy cold chef antisocial won't be going again

Gammon was very dry, peas were dried out and service was extremely slow. We waited over an hour for puddings, my partner had to take our empty plates to the bar ask for our desserts. One of the female bar staff had a horrible attitude and was not really welcoming, which was a shame as it was our first visit

Arrived and was warmly greeted by the staff and shown to a table. I had beef and as much veg as I could get on my plate from the cavery. For me the beef and the vegetables were cooked perfectly and all tasted great. My wife had fish and chips which she enjoyed very much. Great service from the bar staff and the very funny waitress. Would I go back again for what we payed for these very tasty meals definitely.

Good selection of veg at carvery with variety of meats. Sometimes food could be hotter which is a matter of taste. However my husband agrees food is not hot enough. No other criticism because staff is friendly and efficient. Great value. Clean and no blasting music.

After coming so many years over as a Belgium lorry driver I will miss this place... thanks to Jordan... zwinnemeule.. and the great staff... it was Always a home away from home... keep on going the great work

Good family restaurant offering carvery, pizza and other main meals. Children very well fed. Been here twice now once for buffet breakfast which was very good and once for carvery. Parking good but does get busy. Staff were lovely, friendly and helpful. Just off the A470 outside Pontypridd so easy access. Has limited disabled parking does go early. Food was lovely & fresh and hot. Breakfast eggs delicious but ask if you want vegetarian sausages or scrambled as it’s done to order.

I had a lovely meal here last Thursday for the first with the little ones and everyone had thoroughly enjoyed their meal aswell ss the service from the lovely lady who served us! Unfortunately I did not catch her name although the young man who produced my meal I’m certain was called Luke? When I had asked, whom got a giggle out of my boy for us when he started his antics! Great food , service and scenery in the garden. I like to leave honest reviews on most places I choose to visit and this one ticked all my boxes and was most definitely up there for me. Many thanks to the team.

Highly recommend for a truly enjoyable dining experience. The Upper Boat Inn is a great place to celebrate a special occasion. We had a wonderful experience there for my nan and grandad's 50th wedding anniversary. With 18 people in our party, we found the service to be impeccable.

First time coming here, the atmosphere is amazing, the staff are out of this world and the food was awesome. We would recommend this pub over and over again.

We all thought that the food was below standard, one person's chips were burned,and another were almost raw. Please explain how that could happen. That's apart from other things.

Atmosphere was very warm and welcoming. The staff very friendly, Symone and the team are very attentative to customers needs. Only feedback to improve, is the food isn't replenished quick enough. Other than that, a great experience.

I can't say enough about the exceptional service we received! We arrived a mere five minutes before closing, just as they were beginning to clean up the carvery area. Instead of turning us away, they gave us a wonderfully warm welcome and insisted we help ourselves. This kind of genuine hospitality is rare! And, as always, the food was absolutely outstanding. I've been coming here for over 20 years, and the quality has never wavered. It's a true testament to their dedication and consistency. Highly recommended!

absolutely shocking service and absolutely disgusting food!! I will not come here again, the Peas were very dry, the potatoes were tasteless and lumpy with lots of black bits, the stuffing was soggy, I wasn't told my plate was hot or utensils so I burnt my hand and then was told they weren't hot! there was cleaning products left right by our table in reach of children and by an open window the bar staff was rude and absolutely no one paid attention when I tried to address them about the issues

The carvery at the Upper Boat Inn is by far the best of all the carveries in South Wales that I have visited...and I have visited many! The quality of both the meat and vegetables is second to none. A very special commendation goes to Mostyn for his truly outstanding service and he always goes the extra mile to make each guest feel special. He is a credit to the establishment.

It's a lovely pub, well run, clean. They serve a wide variety of drinks both on pump as well as bottle. Had the carvery every time I have gone and I find it good value for money. Well cooked, plenty of variety of meats and veg.

There for a wake. Solid reasonably priced meal. Pub is part of a national chain of eateries/pubs with all you can eat veg served with selection of roast meat.

This place is a complete joke went there for food 2 weeks ago (which wasn't even nice) today received a £100 fine for parking in there carpark. Please stay well clear the place is a mess.

Carvery Meat was inferior & Warm,Stuffing was Inedible & Peas were Dry & Shrivelled.

We had the carvery. The food was just OK. The peas and carrots were pretty dry. The Yorkshire puds were pretty hard and the roasties were hard too. Don't think I will give there again. The nearby Stonehouse in Tonypandy is far better!

We ate at the upper Boat Inn today Thursday 29th Feb, what a lovely surprise that the meal was well cooked and hot. Very accommodating staff took half my meal home with me so much there. For any one that likes home cooked pizza’s that’s the place to go; fresh dough every day and a great choice. Also a take away option. Altogether great place to eat.

Went in for a carvery today ( Tuesday ) Got to the deck! Two yorkies left rock solid! No cauliflower cheese, minimal sweedie mash? Beef and gammon ends were dry and discoloured! Had to have turkey, Not to end up with them! Camo peas!! Not good at all. Had to wait for a carver ( Took a phone call while waiting ) while a girl was leaning on Pizza counter - No .. They won’t be a sec? When the carver actually turned up he didn’t replenish anything just had tickets away we go! Still only two solid yorkies! No motivation at all!. I used to call in a lot, this is the second time it’s been the same. Didn’t eat much we left, on the way out the carvery deck was all replenished?? Did you want us to eat the dregs? 4 team having a chat upon leaving all kitchen team?? Adleast the next guys may eat tidy grub. Really disappointed! Massive lack of effort! Sad but won’t be back

We booked for 8 people the table they gave us was too small to fit 8, the food looked dried up, only 1 piece of scraggy beef there, no other meat, it all looked awful so we all walked out and went to Toby Carvery

Came here 6pm on a Saturday to be told we could not eat in the restaurant even though it was practically empty and we’re made to sit in the bar to eat. We just got up and left and headed down to the Whitchurch stone house we’re we were happily invited in to the restaurant. Wouldn’t recommend this place at all.

Food was bad not able to eat roast potatoes burnt brown/ black dish 1/2 full of oil asked for fresh ones but they came out the same if not worst complain to carver his reply my name not on them . Yorkshire pudding not available Green beans dried out mash had dried crusty on top gravy warm manager didn't think there was anything wrong with roast potatoes manger was full of it Said nothing wrong bit crisp on outside but nice and fluffy on inside take a look at photos and make your own mind up Recommend you find some where else to eat and spend your hard earned money somewhere else who will go above and beyond daine behind the bar is a diamond allways willing to help this review is for upper management team down take a look and learn from daine Toilet roll on holder was wet and looks like it been dried out and put back on open roll holder

After trying other branded carvery’s, we came here with our family and the staff and team were outstanding. The food was great as you can see from the photos and the staff couldn’t be more helpful. The food quality was great, the food counter was clean, I couldn’t recommend it enough. If you want a carvery this is the place to go.

Visited yesterday with my family. Had a beautiful carvery, all lovely and hot and the rosties were the best iv tried. There was a kind helpful young chap called logan who put what I couldn't eat into a container for me to take home, so helpfull and kind- a asset to the upperboat.

Perfect location, great carvery and truly good prices meat was lovely and the veg and piping hot, can get busy on weekends so probably book in advance. Would highly recommend if you’re close or looking for a nice roast style carvery. Other meal options are available also at a great price
