Central Fish Bar in Rhondda Cynon Taf

Had to ask the lady behind the counter if that was really all the chips for £2. Shocking. Was literally enough for 1 slice of bread folded. First and last time buying from here.

Charged £8.60 for 2 small chips and 2 curry sauces when the price is £2.20 per small chips and £1.70 per curry sauce The chips were all dried up and curry full of salt Used to love the chips from here but will never go back the girls who work there have got no flipping manners NO Please ,Thank you Not even a smile my cat has got more blinking manners than the staff in here

Was served by a young girl who was really rude with no maners, she couldn't be bothered with please or thank you. I held my hand out for my change, and she slapped it on the counter. Then I ask for a fork she said 5p, and held it in her hand like I was going to run off with it. Will no be going back here again.

Fish was cooked to order although staff couldn't wait to go outside to smoke, so clearly didn't cook the fish for long enough. Curry sauce over salty, also couldn't eat. The poor food quality is bad enough but the customer service is appalling. The way staff were with me and the customer they served before me, I wish I had walked out without ordering now. Seeing the staff walk straight out after I left to smoke is not a good look. Also overly strong smell of chip fat left on my clothes after only being inside for a few minutes.

I had a rissole, chips and a curry sauce. I was charged £6.30. Chips were a child size portion. Chips were barely warm and so dried out. I felt i had what was left of what had been cooked from a particular batch. Rissole was warmer as it had been microwaved by them. It was disappointing given the cost.

Just bought fish and chips from here and the girl behind the counter put salt on my food And just poured it everywhere. Too much salt came home to eat it had to throw it in the bin,it was like if it was dipped in salt. They need salt and vinegar training.

Most ignorant and rude staff member who looked like she couldn’t be arsed to be in work let alone communicate with customers. Shame they can’t get decent staff. Left without buying anything along with another customer.

If it was possible to give no stars l would. My husband just went to this chippy for the first time. Never again!!! He ordered pie, chips and curry sauce twice but when he came home he had only been given 1 x small bag of chips instead of 2 but he had been charged for 2. He had to wait for the chips and they were greasy and slightly undercooked, the curry sauce was greasy and lukewarm and the pie was lukewarm, we only live a stones throw away so no excuse. AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!!!

Only rated 1 star because I had to! Service was absolutely shocking, woman was so rude, wouldn't hurt to crack a smile. Food look undercooked, chips were green and tasted like grease.

When entered was told to wait with a hand gesture as she was on phone to her kids then had to wait 15mins for over cooked buger and under cooked chips the fish cake was like playdough and the member of staff there customer service skills left more than enough to be desired will now avoid this place at all cost worst experience I have ever had at a fish shop with definitely the worst food ever absolutely shocking !!!!! Would leave minus stars if I could

2 people walk in together to buy food one woman waiting they serve my worker then start serving the lady waiting now here things cooked ! 20 minuets later my worker has finished his food I still haven't been served gave up went with out food as lunch break now over ! Thanks for the diet ! If people are together surely wait to serve both after the big order or serve both then onto big order ! No problem with waiting but to be ignored totally not even a "won't be long " or "sorry just waiting on more chips !" Etc etc is soo rude ! I suppose when you get away with insurance fraud you get all high and mighty !!

Large chips barley had enough for 2 toddlers... compared to the local where a large is enough for 2 kids and enough for a chip butty for 2 adults...

If you’re into cold food then this is the place for you but make sure you take a loan out first as the bill will hit you harder than Mike Tyson. And the portions are smaller than a gnats nipple.

Chips were undercooked, expensive £2.95 just for a pie ! Wouldn't go there again.

Clean shop, polite and friendly staff. Had to order, but that means your food is fresh which is much better. Enjoyed the chicken bites & chips with curry sauce.

My mother ordered a small bag of chips with 2 sausage in batters just salt on them! The young lady then proceeded to put vinegar on the chips. When my mum questioned this the young lady said “you asked for it” and my mum reply “no I didn’t my daughter hates vinegar I definitely wouldn’t of asked for it”! The young lady showed a lot of attitude from then on. Once my mum got home this is the amount of chips the young lady had given us!! I think this is disgusting behaviour! I work in customer service/hospitality and understand that things can be irritating but I think responding like this is childish you’ve definitely lost my custom!

I like this place. You have to order fish when you first arrive, even if somebody is in front of you so it has time to cook or you will have a long wait. Only 2 customers allowed inside at any one time. Friendly staff, very reasonable prices. It is open 12noon til about 8pm. Mon to Sat.

Lovely fish and chips. Ordered ahead so as not to have to wait too long. Generous portions and fish comes with tartare sauce and lemon. Friendly staff and beautiful food! Highly recommended.

Only popped in here to pick up some fish and chips for my partner. And what a find I have popped back a few times since as thay do a good fish and chips.

Not a fan of chips so chanced my claw here. Orders chips and steak/kidney pie. Pie wasn't the best was very soggy but the inside made the chips more manageable. Very salty also

If there’s a man serving ( avoid) he gives tiny portions and food tastes totally different ( not nice) he’s the miserable one, smallest bag of chips I’ve ever seen Been here’s loads before when girls are there food is high in quality, I avoid the fish bar if he’s there not unless I want a child’s portion

I was visiting a friend, and I decided to have something to eat, as the Central Fish Bar was around the corner I popped in there, straight away it was warm and welcoming, very clean, the two girls behind the counter were happy, polite, helpful and chatty, without letting anything keep them from they're work. The food was excellent, the service, second to none, and my day a little brighter for it. I would recommend this eatery to anyone, and the girls working there are a credit to it, and the town. Nice food, nice people, no more to be said.

lovely food and always clean and tidy in the shop. best time to go is when the two young girls work together as food is always good. The one girl is there every night of the week bare a friday so best time to go when shes there. x

My husband and myself visit the central fish bar quite a bit for the best food in ponty and sarah and Lesley are always there for the best customer service and the clean shop the only down side is the when the others girls are on you have to wait for food and then it can be undercooked and greasy

Hi I’ve been coming to this chip shop for about 7 yrs and I’ve noticed there are 2 lady’s work together on a Monday and Tuesday evening , I try to avoid these nights as the cooking for the chips are white under cooked , to a point you can’t eat them the jumbo sausages are really greasy I wipe them with tissue ,the cans aren’t filled up and it’s not as clean out the shop front as I’ve seen it when the Mother and Daughter work together it’s always clean, food always cooked properly no greasy sausages nice full fridge of drinks and nothing is never a bother for those 2 lady’s I’m not sure what days the mother and daughter work but I really do prefer to go there when they are there as I know I’m paying for nice cooked food , NOT rushed under cooked.

Went here today, with my family to get chips and curry sauce. My wife is pregnant. She asked if she can put her own salt and vinegar on so that there is not too much. The lady with tattooes on her arm said yes and then put it on anyway. Resulting in the food being very salty and my wife unable to eat it. £15 food down the drain as we then had to go elsewhere so that we could eat together. Women in helpful when I said about it in the shop almost trying to make us look silly for wanting to put our own salt and vinegar on. If you like even a basic level of customer service then avoid this place like the Plauge!

Lovely staff but ... I wish they don't count the chips whilst serving. A large portion is a "small" if you compare with others. Try Tynant for quality and quantity.

I normally visit here frequently but will not be returning. This evening I paid for the most disgusting chips that had obviously been sat there for hours. It’s a disgrace that I was charged!! And they didn’t offer salt or vinegar and said that they only have large bags!! This place has gone seriously downhill and I will not be returning!!

Beautiful fish cooked to order. Absolutely gorgeous - I ordered a medium-sized piece and OMG it was huge. Freshly cooked with tasty crisp batter hmmmm scrumptious.

Are opening times are 12:30am till 9:30pm Monday to Friday and 12:30 till 8:00pm on Saturday, closed on Sundays, Never have I worked their in the last 6years have we ever opened till 11:30pm.

My local fish and chip shop open most nights till 9

Had a bad experience with very poor food there a while back but this visit pretty good. Great chips & fish cake but my son said the, albeit freshly prepared/cooked fish bite was, his words, a bit stale tasting?

Not very often do I have a chippy but what a pleasant experience it was! The Scottish girl who served us, was chatty and polite. The shop was spotless and the food was delicious. Would definitely recommend to anyone in the area.

Brown, cocidos o recalentados varias veces que me supongo. Debería haber llamado a regresar, pero de tiempo para el almuerzo comida en mi camino a casa. El pastel era aceptable, pues era la rissole pero sin buenas patatas fritas lo que vale la pena? Está limpio y el personal es educado, pero sobre la base ha sido 50% a 50% realmente bueno y malo, tomar mi consejo, no vayas.
