The best restaurants serving British food in Wales

Worst meal I've ever had! Was told half hour wait on arrival, waited over an hour in the end. Wrong order was delivered on one meal and everything else came out burnt. Rip off

Sadly turned away from an empty pub with an empty car park at 12.30 on a Saturday lunch time. A lovely welcome sign in the car park with landlords name on. We chose the pub ‘coz we liked the menu, enthused when we turned up and there was about five cars in the car park. Loads of empty tables inside, sadly the lady who greeted us couldn’t manage to find a table or a smile. I hope it wasn’t my English accent. Anyway we went to The Upper Boat Inn down the road, received a lovely welcome in a busy pub, spent a good amount of money.

Mmm food and beer and nice staff and good prices

The staff in here are really nice. Chloe provides really good service. She’s really friendly.

On holiday nearby, always visit this weatherspoons pub whilst shopping in Bridgend, however on this occasion and just hope this is a one off but has put me off weatherspoons pubs even where I live, but was made to feel very unwelcome especially by the managers attitude whilst serving, maybe it has something to do with me being English I don’t know but would gladly welcome Welsh people if I had my own pub and restaurant, my gramp was Welsh and I thought this part of Wales were welcoming and it’s a shame cuz most locals around here are welcoming and friendly, anyway I may be overthinking on this score but I felt that the manager was unfriendly and there were a group of middle aged men who looked rough and unfriendly who were not using the pub but were smoking as the first table I sat at was by a window and in a space of 2 minutes 2 of the men were looking through the window, no apology or trying to get anyone’s attention not even looking at me but I felt my privacy was being invaded and made me feel really uncomfortable, i wouldn’t mind but my mother was with me I felt uncomfortable for her so we moved tables, even tho it was outside of the pubs control which I understand still puts me off especially visiting this pub again!

We came for an evening meal. The atmosphere was great inside and the pub was decked out for Halloween. The food was lovely and had a real home cooked feel. Great pie with lovely veg and we also enjoyed the burger and tasty starters. The staff couldn’t do enough to help and this was gratefully appreciated as one of us had a little struggle getting in the door with a mobility scooter. So we’d like to say a thank you! We would love to return.

Awful, ordered a 10 wings starter to share, unfortunately only 8 wings arrived on the plate, counted with the waitress and another 2 arrived about 5 mins later. ordered a large mixed grill and arrived without the chicken breast and sausages, pointed out to waitress and took the plate away and arrived later with all items this time but chips and mushrooms cold. Will not be dining there again.

Tuvimos una experiencia encantadora con mi familia hoy, nos hicieron sentir muy bienvenidos, nos las arreglamos para conseguir una mesa caminando, con 10 de nosotros! El personal no podía hacer lo suficiente por nosotros, y era encantador muy servicial y amable, masivo gracias a la camarera con el pelo largo y castaño en una cola de caballo, encantadora niña seguía revisando en nuestra mesa, asegurándose de que todo estaba bien y teníamos todo lo necesario, también tuvimos algunos problemas con nuestra comida que nos arreglaron un par de veces, muy agradecido por el servicio que recibimos. Definitivamente volveré de nuevo.

Lovely food with a really good choice and very good value for money . We were served very quickly and the staff were so helpful and welcoming .

Did not stay here but my sat nav got me lost I phoned to ask for help to get out off the ground it was dark and I was quite scared oap the woman who answered was brilliant she stayed on the phone with me and gave me clear directions to where I was going Thank you very much to the young lady

Buen desayuno, café y té. Precio razonable y buen servicio del personal. Menú variado y elección durante todo el día.

Heating off as per usual someone should remind them that it is winter and it would be nice to come here without the need to wear artic clothes. Ps the food has been pretty good lately
