Can't say about rooms as didn't stay the night, but the staff were amazing went above and beyond their duty too help an old gentleman in distress

Good service and the food was nice. Standard Wetherpoon stuff but at least you know it's reasonable quality. Most pubs in Bridgend are either closed down or empty, this one keeps going because it's cheap and cheerful!

Cheap alcoholic drinks, nice coffee and atmosphere

Hard to find in a car. Can't park there so be careful. Pub is ok, but the rooms were good. Will stay again

Ordered halloumi fries for £2 took 20 minutes and had to go up and ask again and they brought out 2 single fries cold and covered in grease

We Stayed last night at this hotel, lovely room , friendly staff perfect location ! 6min walk from train station, 8 min walk to the Rugby ground. Weatherspoon bar and food downstairs. Perfect!

Pleasant enough, good value luxury rooms. Pub and bar areas rowdy and vibrant Fridays and Weekends. Still all enjoyable, good to be somewhere so alive.

Scurffy looking pub, mostly filled with wreck heads. The chefs can’t cook the basics like chips or even a basic chicken wrap. 5 out of 5.

So who knew you weren't allowed to have dogs if you sit OUTSIDE? A waitor brings a drink. Then a plate of food for my friend. Then he brings my drink. Then a different waitress comes with my food and only then I'm told I'm not allowed a little puppy in the outside area due to a seperate incident previously, where a dog bit a child. This has nothing to do with wetherspoons yet they implemented a rule at their business that no dogs are allowed in their outside eating areas. NO signs outside to say this, so really they can't implement this rule... But she isn't having any of it and persists. She made ME feel like the stupid one! So I'm forced to ASK for a refund for my food and my friend has to rush his food so we can leave. Absolutely ridiculous. Several other people outside were shocked and disgusted by the whole situation. Never spending my money here again.

Dropped in for brekkie today, only 2 other customers, so outnumbered by staff. My full English was pretty tasty and clearly cooked to order, so why did it not arrive piping hot, apart from the sausages. Would have given 4 stars if it had.

Not a pub I would normally frequent, but stopped for a quick coffee and soft drink, while returning from a long dog walk, only to be told very rudely to move from outside as dogs weren't allowed on the entire premises. Rather shocked and surprised at the attitude and there was me thinking that hospitality needed all the help that it could get. Get your act together Tim !

Pleasantly surprised as this was the first visit to a 'Spoons' hotel. Staff were very helpful and friendly and the room was clean and furnished to a higher standard than expected. Bar/food was typical Spoons standard but the staff were really quick and efficient and made whole experience very enjoyable.

first time in bridgend for years last time i eat in a weatherspoons was about 10yrs ago ordered a burger for my grandson it was still frozen inside then waited 45 mins for another one anyway back to bridgend ordered a large mix grill the meat was dry and the steak was the size of a postage stamp and on the menu it said 6 oinion rings the preparer needs to go back to school because i had 4 oinion rings then they made a mistake with the bill wife had to go back up and pay again would not reccomend this place for a mixed grill or steaks stick to your beef burgers wife liked that

called into this establishment last week first time in bridgend for years and the wife wanted something to eat last time in weatherspoons was rubish so we went in I ordered a large mixed grill the wife a burger they came quite quick my food was dry and tasteless making it taste like cardboard there was suppose to be 6 oinion rings preparer cant count needs to go back to school only got 4 oinion rings would not recc this place for lunch 2nd time Ive had food in weatherspoons booth times rubbish

Terrible staff. Terrible food, would never recommend anyone to go there after todays experience. Even after complaining about my food i had terrible service with no other choice than to pay for something else even though my food was just about enough to feed a one year old toddler and the presentation was disgusting.

Open bar from quite early morning, serving breakfasts. Menu is typical pub/restaurant meals. (Micro wave and deep fry.) Just outside the shopping area for coffee break, but close to the main post office.

We went out on our usual Steak Night at Weatherspoons. Today the Steak was all gristle and fat So I told the waitress, she could see it was awful So I tried the Quinior salad This was raw I told the waitress, as I have eaten it many times before, in Weatherspoons No joy, very poor meal and even worse customer service, my meal was inedible, so she offered us £2.10 compensation.

Lunch and we have eaten in many Wetherspoons pubs.Ribs and chicken combo but hard dry chicken and very little sauce on the ribs,good job for the bottle of Heinz barbecue sauce though. Could be so much better with decent food served, a poor example of Wetherspoons fare.

Ordered a meal Chicken breast burger, Tennessee, and chips, Terrible disappointed, Couldn't cut through the chicken, it was microwaved, full grissle, also a grey colour, very chewy, never again, also Ladies toilets, no toilet paper, 8 toilets and 3 locked from the inside, not in use, very dirty, This pub has has a few million spent on an upgrade, well the up keep is not up to standard, do not waste your money...

Recently met my mates for our monthly meet up and have lunch. It was very busy even though we met a at noon but didn't have too long to wait to order our drinks and meals. Basic food but plenty of it and very reasonable as well, lovely pint of Stella (my favourite lager) and we all enjoyed. Staff friendly and helpful despite being so busy. Enjoyable and the breakfast's looked lovely so might try one next time.

Part of a group of 12. Rooms were comfortable and I believe have been refurbished not too long ago. Great value for money.

We came here as part of a hen night. We went to a table where it was empty, a man with a (greasy can we please shower next time) ponytail angrily came up to us to tell us that the table was broken and we needed to move. Automatically blaming us for this. He was simply rude and ignorant. I told him that he should be more polite and we'd simply move, he then stormed off to get security. We then told another worker about his behaviour and she rolled her eyes and told us that she would sort him out, meaning that he's a problem anyway. Won't be coming here again.

Average spoons really, food quick to be served and at really good value and drinks nice and cheap too. Usually run out of major items on the weekends such as Jack daniels and ciders, but there's such a range that you'll always find something you like. Toilets could be maintained a little better but otherwise a great easy going pub. Quiz wednesday evenings also good fun and the money goes to charity which makes it all the better - half time free chips or pizza and a £25 prize for the winning team.

Had a lovely meal here today at lunchtime but the toilets were dreadful, not at all like other Weatherspoons toilets. Toilet seat on the floor, flush cover missing, blocked sink and hand drier not working.

So after introducing the wife this month to a weatherspoons breakfast she now has the bug for them.

Really nice room and bathroom, comfy bed. I have never stayed in a weatherspoons and was pleasantly surprised.

Visited here for food last night. Food fine however service not. We pointed out that the mayonnaise was off and was told by waitress she’d tell the manager. She didn’t, she put it back with the rest of the sauces!!We then at 7:00 sat outside the same girl came and shouted at us that we had to go back inside, it was 7:15. When we asked why we were told, you’re meant to be in by 7 I’ve given you longer than you’re entitled too. Very rude. Obviously lacking customer service skills. We finished our drinks and left.

I went to Wetherspoons as part of a work celebration this evening and I was refused service by Paul (who refused to provide his surname) as I was apparently too drunk. This resulted in 13 people spending their money elsewhere. I was certainly not too drunk (much to the amusement of my collegues and other members of Wetherspoons staff). I thought the way Paul dealt with the situation was totally unprofessional and embarrassing.

The staff were very polite and friendly making you feel very welcome and know how to have a laugh. The food was cooked to perfection and tasted amazing the burger I had was a very juicy and could tell it was freshly made! Would recommend to everyone to go here to eat

Came in with my friends to watch the rugby absolutely brilliant atmosphere some real quality real ales on tap and plenty of the usual suspects Guinness, Ect we also had food which was amazing value burger and a pint £6.50 burger was real quality and big too nice portion of chips with it too staff were brilliant and friendly even though they were rushed off their feet and always seemed to know who was next without asking so no arguments at the bar absolutely brilliant pub.

Emma is rude and does not like anybody attending her establishment who is not from Bridgend. She would not seat us even though we had booked a table and continued to make us feel uncomfortable throughout the evening.

Normal spoons fair , good staff tho . Nothing to rave about but all in all a good chain pub experience

Went for breakfast on the weekend, good fast service, cheap food and great quality for money. Couple of the local drunks in the morning was off putting however.

Called in here on saturday night there was something going on in town music on stage just down road went bar got pint of one thomas watkins beer was just about drinkable asked for white wine was told no wine only red ? then girl said theres bottle pino by wine dispenser she asked a another member staff male if she could use that he must said no as she shock her head i said well why not ? she asked him again and he agreed so when i went back to get second drink i asked for wine first to make sure i could get it or we would have left to my surprise i was served out of the dispenser not a bottle ? i them had pint of brecon brewing red which was worse than the first pint this is second time ive written to complian about beer here they want go up road to port talbot spoons where beer is always good and staff know what they ate doing wont be rushing back

You are in a Weatherspoons and the food is good value for the money, it is also very tasty. The menu has a good choice of food and the bar has a wide selection of drinks.

Family friendy good value for money. Be prepared to que on times staff are friendly but like to take their time but do look after the regulars. Hotel upsairs but no onsite parking. As regular visitors we would give the food on average 6 out of 10. However we keep going back as we like the atmosphere and its centrally located. Although no veichle access between 6am and 6pm.

I visited with the family for Sunday breakfast.... there were 10 of us.. We used the Weatherspoons mobile IOS App to place our order. The staff very courteous and friendly Food came out super fast Great value for money Highly recommended.

Came her on the off chance with my two daughters which all had the burger and a drink which I must say was ok had a large plate with a burger and chips on it but it needed peas or a side salad because the meal didn't fill half the plate but what I was very disappointed wire was there was an elderly couple having a meal and when it was served to them the ladies ask if she had ordered chip the waitress went to check and when she returned instead of going to the table and explaining that they hadn't ordered chip she stood in the door way and shouted at the ladies no you didn't order chips and turned and walked away not even asking if the want to order some so the couple shared the ladies chip I felt the waitress was very rude and it made a few people uncomfortable manners go a long way and an extra order could have been made

I have visited The Wyndham Arms 3 time during the last few weeks, and must say I was pleasantly surprised by the food after my last experience about 12 months ago.

It's a Wetherspoons hotel. My experience of these are they are great value and this one was no different.

Absolutely great stay. I stayed in the single room and I was totally blown away. This was my first time in a Wetherspoons hotel and it definitely won’t be my last. The staff were unbelievably friendly, the room was PRISTINE and the bed was very very comfortable. The hotel had such a nice homely feel with fantastic decor. Fast internet, fab shower, ice cold air conditioning and no noise despite being in the town centre. Very cultural feel too, what with the welsh language everywhere which I find great. I had breakfast downstairs in the pub too, and that was fantastic. It was a re-enactment day in the town, and the staff decorated the hotel and dressed up. I 100% recommend here.

I happened to find myself in Bridgend with a few hours to kill so I strolled slowly around the town and went in and out of shops and the shopping mall. I popped in a shop here and a shop there and after a while I thought about a breakfast and a coffee. I then wondered if Bridgend had been blessed with a Wetherspoons so I asked a likely chap if there was one. He replied yes and told me where to find it. I followed his directions and came across The Wyndham Arms not very far from the shopping mall I had been killing time in. I went in and chose a table and left my bag and coat while I went to the bar. I ordered a bacon roll and a coffee and went and sat down while I people watched. I could have been in any Wetherspoons in the country but I knew I was in Wales from the Welsh being spoken. My bacon roll arrived and I ate it with relish and when my coffee ran out I went and refilled my cup. After a while I decided I had better get on and do some work so I grabbed my rucksack and left. As I walked I thought that I wouldn't mind being in the Wyndham Arms on a Saturday night.

had cottage pie and friend had steak and kidney pudding and both for £7.49 and it was absolutely delicious , both came with chips and peas and were piping hot . The restaurant was very busy and the service was great

I always normally have a really good visit with this place but I was very disappointed. I purchased a drink off the app, I’m 21 so i ordered a strong bow dark fruits, the drink was brought over and then they asked for ID. I didn’t realise I had no ID on me and tbh earlier on I had purchased a drink and hadn’t been. When I told them I didn’t have any I totally understand obviously under policy’s you can’t serve. But they would not refund me my money! First I got told I couldn’t have it refunded because of terms and conditions which it was not. Then I got told by another waiter that it was because they had already poured it! YOU SHOULD BE ID before the drink gets served! I’ve worked behind a bar for 4 years! The other waiter was really demeaning and I felt bad for even asking for my money back! After this visit I won’t be returning which is sad actually because I love coming down there for drinks and food with friends.

First visit this year and I am pleased to see that the Wyndham Arms have upped their game. The "Old Hooky" from the Hook Norton brewery was on form and at £2.15 for a 4.6% volume alcohol it is to be recommended from my last appearance.

Won't get pestered by staff, friendly atmosphere, staff are friendly...all round enjoyable place for a quiet drink/meal or a gathering.

We stayed here to go to the rugby at Cardiff. It is close to the railway station and only 20 minutes from Cardiff so was a good alternative to paying stupid prices for a room in Cardiff. The room was very nice. Bed very comfortable,...

Came here today for food with my daughter and my friend and her little boy food was lovely but unfortunately I couldn't say the same for the service not for ourselves but there was an elderly lady sat behind us who asked for a cup...

Tuesday night is steak night, excellent value, a steak or gammon with all the trimmings plus a pint for £7.60. The only problem is they regularly run out by 7.30 - 8.00. The staff are great. Very apologetic but if there is no steak or gammon available what can they do.

Lovely Breakfast we visited for a weekend for the rugby, Busy pub, long wait by the bar, these pubs need more staff, all staff polite, There was a staff member needs to smile, I heard a few regulars moan shes always a bit stern, Found that a bit mean myself they all work hard.

It's a witherspoons Pub so I would expect a certain standard, but you feel if there was hay on the floor it would fit right in, the place is worn out, and you can tell, staff are good, but the place is a dump.

called in here on a saturday night had couple pints different real ales quality was not good in fact 2 tasted almost identical this is not first time not been happy with beers what a difference to potters wheel in swansea which keeps real ale properly

Very typical Wetherspoons. Food was hot, tasty and plenty of it. Staff were pleasant and polite and attentive. Clean and warm environment. No problem taking the youngling in either. Oh ... and the beer was excellent.

Visited today (11/02), the day after the England v Wales 6 nations match. Sat down at a table to order food and drink through the Wetherspoons app. I left before I was able to finish submitting the order as the whole seating area stank of vomit. Others came in, commented on the smell and left whilst I was sat there. How can you not put on extra cleaning staff when you know the bar will be that busy the night before and how can you think it is acceptable to serve food in a barthat smells of vomit!?

Book in was fantastic, the lady manager booked us in and was very friendly and welcoming, talking to us about the forthcoming rugby game we were there to watch. She then escorted us to the room and made sure we had everything we needed. The room was clean, basic and very spacious. It’s obviously in the town centre but has a large car park nearby (£10 for the weekend). Train station is a five minute stroll away to get the train to Cardiff. You may hear the locals going home at 4am singing loudly especially after a Wales win!

The staff in this Wetherspoons were very friendly and helpful. Food was exactly like all Wetherspoons, edible and hot. Nice cheap well kept beers. Great location in the centre of town very well priced food.

Our party of 9 did not eat here but we visit about 2 - 3 times a year as it is a handy place for us retirees to congregate and have done for years.

Called here for a couple of beers with couples. The outlay is still dated, but beer is reasonably priced. However, the main issue is.....it's so so hard to get served, as bar staff just aren't organised, and appear to chat/joke to themselves. I witnessed 3 separate customers getting annoyed at the time being taken to get served.

Very good breakfast warm and fresh very varied choice and hat you don't need to get up early as served in the lounge till mid day

Visited the Wyndham arms today , nice pub good prices and it was curry day really good value. The bet pub in town. JPR Williams came in for a few pints and chat, nice to see.

It's a good place to eat. Chips are ok. I usually go for the burger. Which is lovely. Service is quick. Staff are a bit hit and miss. The decor is tired and needs upgrading.

Great place to stay.Clean rooms and modern.Staff are brilliant, really helpful. The woman who was pregnant checked me in and she was more helpful than a 5*concierge. It is above a pub so was a little noisy but not complaining as I knew it would be before I booked. It's above a spoons so had a great cooked brekky in the am.

Visited on a Tuesday lunch time and ordered a steak meal as it was Steak Club day. I ordered the rump which was very tasty and cooked as ordered medium rare. But it was only luke warm, as were the chips, tomato and mushroom. This pub used to serve its food on piping hot plates, sadly no longer, which is a great shame. The service was good, as was the lager.The ladies toilets were in a sorry state, dirty toilet pans, locks missing and taps not working, this pub was refurbished a few years ago, but alas now needs attention.Unfortunately we will probably try somewhere else for food when we are next in Bridgend because of the issue with the food being cold.

This is by far the worse Wertherspoons I have ever dined at, and believe me I have visited quite a few from Scotland to Torquay. Firstly, the table had been cleared but not wiped. 2nd: After waiting for service by the bar, with many coming after me and only wanting drinks, I finally got to order. I ordered my usual, chilli con carne, but wanted chips instead of rice, and fair play, the barmaid was very polite and attentive accepting the change. 3rd: When the food arrived how shocked I was to see no coleslaw, no bits of salad and no cream, the chips amounted to less than 12 in total. On enquiring about the coleslaw I was told this was an extra which could be paid for. The only thing in favour of the meal is that it was tasty although meagre.The attraction of Wetherspoons is its' "value for money", it was definitely not the case here. Yes, I will visit a Wetherspoons again but it won't be the Wyndham Arms, Bridgend and hope that the rest I visit will provide more on the plate than this establishment.

Four of us arranged to meet at the Wyndham Arms before a rugby match. It is situated in a pedestrian area aof the town so parking is a short walk away. Although it was only 5pm on a Friday afternoon the pub was very crowded even though there were few people about outside! The pub is owned by Wetherspoons and is of the familiar pattern to so many others in the UK. Because of its high turnover the range of drinks is enormous and the choice of food the same.We each ordered differently but the food arrived quite promptly, exactly as described.I cannot claim that I was delighted in any way with the Wyndham Arms yet it is what it says it is - a high output establishment offering average food and drinks at low prices.Unfortunately the low prices do nothing to enhance the atmosphere, which is rather depressing.

What can I say about this place amazing staff nice and clean we came for breakfast before work and im very fussy when it comes to breakfast and nothing was to much trouble placed our order and it came out so quick will be back again

Me and my pal came to stay as we were at the Wales v Ireland Rugby. What a fantastic welcome we received from Kaliegh and Leanne. We had some lovely banter and felt very much at home ! We went downstairs for some lunch and the Bar staff were really welcoming too. We opted for the Burger and Pint deal and were not dissapointed at all.Brilliant value.The room was modern and spotless. This morning we both had breakfast and once more were not dissapointed at all. Brilliant value for money. Yet again the staff serving us were great .We were so glad we met the Landlady Lisa, what a charming Lady. I will certainly be coming back here whenever I am next in the area, and I would recommend this place to anyone.Wyndham Arms Hotel and staff, we salute you !

While in Bridgend on business I fancied some good pub food found this Wetherspoon pub via google. It was midday and ordered the all day brunch, outstanding value for money £6.19 and a glass of water. For early afternoon it was a very busy pup if I'm in the area again I will return.Staff friendly food promptly arrived on a hot plate looking around tables clean and staff attentive

The Food and service is very good BUT they are very slow to clear the tables after people have eaten. The most annoying thing is that they don't wipe the tables very often, so people end up having to eat of dirty tables.

Visited on a Wednesday, Chicken Club day, we both decided to have something off the Chicken Club menu, £5.99 for a meal and a drink. My husband had the Half Roast Chicken with Peri Peri sauce and I had the Chicken Breast with Peri Peri sauce, both were served with chips and Coleslaw. We both enjoyed the meals, the chicken was cooked to perfection and the meals arrived very quickly. The service was excellent. We stayed on after lunch for some drinks and got talking to some 'locals', so had a very enjoyable time. We regularly visit The Wyndham, and find it a bit hit or miss, but our last visit was very good. If you choose something off the special menu it is excellent value. As I said £11.98 for two meals and 2 pints of lager!

Just like to say that we had a 2 night stay here and the room and staff were excellent. The room was a good size along with the bathroom so overall we would give it 5 stars for value. Food and drink was also of a good standard and served very quickly. Would definitely recommend.

While shopping in Bridgend my wife and I decided to have a meal here, we both ordered the steak and kidney pudding with chips and peas, the staff are always friendly, we didn't have long to wait for our food, my wife spilt some her gravy on the table, I asked for more gravy and we were given not one but 2, the meal was nice but after only eating a small bit of my steak & kidney pudding I came across a small piece of plastic, I took my meal to the bar and asked to see the manager, he apologised and offered me a new one, I said yes and I also asked if I could have a drink as well, the manager was very apologetic, thank you for this and keep up the good work, I would highly recommend this pub. Will call again soon for a meal.

My wife and I were shopping in Bridgend and called into the Wyndham arms pub for a late lunch, the pub was quite busy and lots of people eating, so we decided to order a rarebit burger and a chicken dish both had chips, both meals were very nice, we would call again, a very busy pub.
