It is what it is a Toby but it seems to be getting worse over the last couple of years. They seem to pile up the food so it ages while out rather then refresh smaller portions. The heat in the room always seems to be an issue as does getting to pay your bill. Went again and it is a bit hit and miss, gravy watery and the only way I can describe is the roasties taste stale and not crispy. It may just be meas the place was rammed.

Always a lovely Sunday roast lunch can be had here. We are regular customers and have never experienced bad food or service.

We booked last minute on our way back home to Newport. We were greeted lovely and sat down. However once we were served my partner who is 25 and myself sat with him being 25 weeks pregnant he was asked for id. (He is covered in tattoos also which is a dead giveaway for being over 18.) However we understand the policy and yes if you feel they look under 21 ask for id. We wouldn't of been so bothered if Mandy hadn't gone over to her work colleagues to have a laugh and a chat about what had just happened looking directly at me whilst chatting. I find this very unprofessional and made us feel extremely uncomfortable. Won't be visiting again. Pretty generated reply!! No effort on the reply and this will be looked into or apologies for making us feel uncomfortable. Will stick to my local small businesses from now on that appreciate custom and actually deal with unprofessional staff member (Mandy) I would also like to add that, please ask Your staff member to wash their hands or spray after smoking as the smell of smoke was very noticeable!! Since I had such a vague comeback I feel this needed to be added!

Well recommended, great food & friendly, helpful staff, use it weekly for family get together, can't fault them.

We made a booking but arrived 20 minutes late due to traffic we made our apologies and they found an alternative table for which we were grateful as the restaurant was very busy at the time. Great food and very pleasant staff. Thanks!

Fantastic restaurant, as well as best Toby Carvery, my family have visited. Great friendly staff that go out of their way to ensure you are comfortable and well fed.

Best Sunday dinner I've had in a while. We were the first ones up to the cavery. All the meat was fresh, a Kgreat choice of potatoe dishes and fresh vegetables. Staff friendly and very accommodating. We ended up having a large plate with beef, pork, and lamb, but there are 5 different meats on a Sunday. Well worth the money!

Been coming to toby carvery in bridgend for a long time . Tryed them all cardiff caerphilly. Bridgend is the best off them all . I always go early so hardly any quese food all fresh high recommend

A couple weeks ago I went to visit Toby Carvery Bridgend and we were serviced by Malika. She was fantastic, very engaging and entertaining! She gave a few of her favourite suggestions from the menu! The desserts were lovely! All round a great place for lunch! The carvery was really great too and you get a lot of the meat trimmings! Overall great experience!

Some of the food was cold to warm and some where hard after being under the heated lights to long

Just been to your carvery, can I just say Melika our waitress was absolutely outstanding. Never laughed or been so treated well, she was absolutely amazing. Melika made our visit perfect. What a lively lovely personality, definitely will be back and will hope Melika will serve us again. Food was just beautiful too

Food was good and staff but the biggest let down for me was the state on the plates. They were grimey. I picked up 5 plates and had to wash it my self. The underside of the plate were sticking also. Probly wouldent go back again after that tbh

Great food drinks were expensive. Service was excellent from being shown to seat to being served drinks and pudding.

Went to Toby for dinner last Sunday and the food was top notch. Everything warm and fresh and our waitress Laura Dee went out of her way to make our stay memorable. Will be going back today for another outing. Highly recommend and Laura made our day.

Me and my partner thought we’d give Toby Carvery a go - as we hadn’t been in years. The server Mandy was particularly good at explaining things to us. Food was great, with a variety of different meats. Will be returning again soon!

I was visiting with my partner and had a really nice meal, the beef was lovely and the service and welcome by the staff was very friendly and professional. Mandy was particularly helpful as she let us move tables.

Loved it, family of four for lunch. Our waitress Laura was so kind. We have two kids who very difficult to settle and enjoy a meal, the kids loved Laura she helped us massively. Recently visited for Sunday lunch with family and all had a great time! Food was excellent but service was even better from our waitress Laura. Really went out of her way to make us feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble for her. She even helped my disabled auntie to the toilet as she struggles to walk and her wheelchair was being repaired! Will definately be returning!

Recently visited the restaurant. Was served by Laura. Nothing was too much trouble, very professional and personable and she was great with my daughter. All the staff seemed friendly and the food was lovely too. Would definitely visit again.

Hadn’t been to Toby Carvery for years but my youngest child had visited recently and persuaded us to go. Visited Toby Bridgend, was pleasantly surprised, much better than i previously remember. Think our experience was helped by the lovely Laura our waitress who was friendly and bubbly and made our visit all the more enjoyable. She has certainly made us feel we would return.

First time at Tobys in a few years, and a lovely lady welcomed us (think her name was Laura?), great service, great food and easy to keep the kids chill! Would definitely come again

Come in quite often, rhianon is often our server she is very friendly and welcoming. Nothing is too much for he. Food was lovely and the atmosphere was very welcoming

Ain't been here for many years but fancied a carvery so we thought we would give it a try, the food was OK well cooked and plenty of choice, £10.50 for a midweek carvery is good. The staff were friendly enough and got served really quick, we will definitely return in the near future as we all came out stuffed and for £10.50 you can't go wrong.

Me and my husband was on way back from being away in the caravan and we ad missed avin a dinner so we popped into tobys we ad a table straight away. The service was brilliant mandy the waitress was amazing nothing was to much trouble for her. She was pleasant, polite, and the food was lovely glad we popped in on the off chance now. I've not been for a few years but fancied a carvery instead of cooking. The food was superb, plenty of choice and hot. We were sat next to a screaming table of kids, which can't always be helped but Laura our waitress dealt with it very professionally. She was actually very funny and we managed to eat out Sunday lunch without to much noise. Well done Toby and thankyou Laura 🙌🏻
