I was a bit disappointing I waited over 25 minutes for our coffee to arrive .. pancakes were out of a packet . Bubble and squeek was just new potatoes with onions on top . Poached eggs were perfect, though 👌. I've lived here for 2 years our first visit, but it was disappointing. Don't think I would go back, unfortunately. The building is nice and the garden area is lovely.

Yet again over charged for drinks. The majority of the bill was settled. We were aware that a couple of drinks would have to be paid for, but were told nothing was settled. Once the receipt was shown for the settled drinks my partner and her friend was asked to leave. Won't be going back.

Visited for brunch yesterday and it was lovely! The brunch menu is great with really good coffee. Service is friendly but not overly attentive. Everything on the plate was delicious, I highly recommend the veggie breakfast!

Possibly the worst meal I've ever eaten in a restaurant. Badly cooked and tasteless. They couldn't even get an oatmilk coffee to be drinkable. Massive disappointment. Avoid

Brunch. Great place, clean, good atmosphere and really nice, service was prompt, servers pleasant and polite. Not cheap, but ingredients seemed good quality so worth it in my opinion. We’ll be trying the e wining menu soon.

Enjoyed a delicious Sunday lunch of shoulder of lamb here today. Best we’ve had for years. Loads of vegetables were served separately. Friendly staff and the place was busy. Thoroughly recommended.

Absolutely beautiful, perfect balance of flavours. Had the short rib and it was spectacular, also desert was to die for. Nice portions nice pricing, great service. Can't go wrong.

Went for a family event and Sunday dinner 1 small bowl of veg between 6 people food was awful no taste all veg was undercooked expensive for what was served.

Really wanted the food to be to a good standard for the price £42 for the main My fillet steak was overcooked, and the prawns were a little anemic looking and not cleaned (intestinal tract). Such little errors may mean they do not have a qualified chef in the kitchen. The food is not typical of the price charged.. I paid £56 for my main meal and a glass of wine. I've had better food in a pub chain. However, the atmosphere was great, and the waiter service was excellent. Tipped 10% accordingly. The menu is very overpriced for the value of the food in general. Shame! 😔

Having visited for coffee the previous week and seen the popularity of the venue I suggested to my husband we give it a go for the tapas evening. Unfortunately this proved to be a poor decision, having joked about going to Crisp n fry instead on the way in, we wished we actually had done. Whilst the decor and ambience was excellent, the rest of the experience was far from. We were seated quickly on arrival but it was a considerable time before anyone acknowledged us to take an order. Understandable as busy, but basic customer service would at least be to acknowledge the table and explain you would be with them shortly. The tapas arrived fairly quickly and looked great. However, the Serrano ham croquettes were definitely crab ones, a bit of surprise to bite into. The "braised" chorizo had clearly been just boiled and the fat on the "glazed" pork belly was gelatinous and off putting. Whilst the calamari was nice the other dishes were underwhelming and as chefs we knew we could easily cook better at home. Unfortunately we weren't able to bring the croquettes issue to anyone's attention as we never received a check back throughout the meal. It wasn't until a polite young man collected our plates that we notified him of the issue, to which he replies: did you have the crab ones? So clearly an issue that had already been identified but not rectified. Given the current importance of allergens it's shocking to think you could be served the wrong food that contains a potentially fatal allergen. He offered to take the item off the bill, but this was not done. However given the tapas deal being quite good value we didn't mind. The excuse was a large table had put pressure on the kitchen, but sat opposite the entrance to it I could clearly see the chefs were under pressure. They had time to eat or chew gum and although wearing gloves the food was handled without the being changed for the entire time we were there. Overall, a nice looking place with a good selection of reasonably priced wines. But lacks any form of basic customer service and I would be concerned to eat there again.

Excellent food.. small menu but high quality.

Called in for a coffee at 4.15pm but were advised that coffee machine is switched off at 4pm. Restaurant closing time advertised as 5pm. Disappointing

Was sceptical from reading the reviews. But I have to admit I had an excellent experience. The service was attentive without being intrusive, when asked if it was possible to have a bigger table because we communicate in BSL/sign language they accommodated without any fuss, the waiter was friendly, helpful. The food was yummy!!! Omg try the perl wen cheese starter and crispy mushrooms tapas (best I have ever tasted. The perl when cheese was melted on a bed of olives and tomatoes. My god those tomatoes were stunning and the combination of olives cheese and greens underneath was the mouthwatering sensation. I cannot wait to go back to order more. The mushrooms were beautifully cooked in a tempura crispy batter. Not thick, just a delicate coating to give the mushroom a crunch they came with a beautiful side sauce of Miso mayo. Flipping gorgeous. Main course was Blas burger with chips and blas slaw And vegan burger Sweet potato and bean with chips and slaw I didn't eat the meat burger as I'm veggie but my partner said it was nice and proper compact burger of beef not added with fillers. ( perhaps there is no need for the bread bun as it's so filling, but a side salad would go well instead? Or an option instead of bun?) The chips were a beautiful crunchy texture with plentiful flavour. (No need for salt or seasoning). The Slaw (wow, very flavoursome and moreish). Vegan burger was a beautiful texture of sweet potato and mixed beans with a sligh spice in a bun and tomato and a sauce. Personally, I'd go without the bun and have a side salad as above. Burger was tasty and good texture (looked home made so even better. Chips as above (lovely) coleslaw 👍 from me. Good choice of wines at reasonable price in these times. Ambience was lovely. We were originally seated on a table for 2, but seriously those tables are too small for dinner. Ok for breakfast maybe. (But, that was resolved immediately which was great). Overall a good evening. Prices. Yes a bit pricey, but I think it's worth it as if you pay a few £less in the area you get mediocre food. It's nice to know that Blas has exceeded my expectations after reading the bad reviews I had no complaints this evening, and I still have the beautiful taste of the food in my palate hours later. ☺️. If you like tomato purée then this place is for you. The vegan food is literally hit and miss. The vegan meatball arrabbiata was just meatballs in tomato purée, with a sprinkling of vegan cheese. The chips were crispy and hollow. All in all, bland. Yet, the week or so before, the same dish was to die for. They must have a vegan hating chef on some days. Yet, despite the poor vegan option, the smoked salmon risotto was lush.

We went for the full range of tapas and it was delicious! Drinks were great too and staff are always lovely. Lovely experience all round :)

We came for a Christmas party of 16,on December 2nd, was over charged for 4 meal when leaving even thou I’ve tried explaining that they were wrong. I explained on the night if I find out you’ve over charged I will be contacting you to discuss, I’ve emailing several time, but still no clarity why they have overcharged, and not willing to discuss. Im very disappointed that I’ve had no answer as to why, when I have clearly shown that they’ve over charged. Very disappointing. 😣

Full dinner menu wasn't available and only tapas was on the menu, not really a big deal as we probably would have gone for tapas anyways but would have been nice to know before booking. Food when it arrived was good however the service was pretty shoddy, drinks order mixed up, food missing when brought to table, zero attentiveness from waiting staff, sat with empty glasses for most of the night. This place should be good as it looks nice on the surface and it describes itself as Ammanfords 'Premier' Venue but overall was pretty bang average at best.

Visited today (Oct 15th) for Sunday Lumch. Wow is all I can say. We all had 3 courses and had various choices and not one complaint came from any of us. All the food, was hot, plentiful and really tasty. The Lamb was amazing, and the veg portion is huge, but the right size. ( too many places serve portions that are way too small) Its not cheap, but you get what you pay for, all the staff were professional and pleasant too. Highly recommended.

How did I not know about this place before!! Tapas for dinner! Everything was delicious. Calamari, prawns, chicken wings, short ribs, and Rarebit. Won't be our last visit for sure.. Oh and the spiced creme bruleè was the best end to a great meal

Lovely atmosphere and setting, had dinner here with friends and I did read some negative reviews, but I was delighted with my meal, belly pork and wild rice was full of flavours and nicely presented, pork was tender, sides were also the same, wine was fairly priced, starters were tastie and all the food looked appetizing, don't be put off by bad reviews, I've also had breakfast at blas some time back and I enjoyed that! A nice place for something a little special, will definitely be going back, the young team of waiting staff were also professional and welcoming, thank you Blas 👏❤️

I can't thank Helen, Stefan, Chelsea and all the wonderful staff at Blas, for making my Birthday event truly memorable. The organisation was superb, the service was impeccable, the food was out of this world, and the venue was stunning. All my guests were honestly impressed. Fantastic breakfast, really good quality and value

Do NOT choose the chicken supreme if you are expecting an actual full meal. All you get for your £18.50 is a tiny piece of chicken with a single slice of butternut squash and two wafer thin slices of mushroom. If you have the audacity to expect some vegetables with your tiny piece of underfed teenage chicken, they demand an extra £4:50 from you!! I ordered a coffee which bizarrely came in a drinking glass and a glass of wine which came to over £10. Overpriced slightly pretentious and not for me sorry. This is Ammanford not Chelsea.

great restaurant with good quality food and a decent range of vegan / veggie options on the menu! some gluten free options (with some menu-tweaking) but good cocktails and an amazing vegan + gf cheesecake for dessert. dog friendly outside or in the bar! would happily go again - the aubergine cannelloni was lovely!! :)

This is our third visit to Blas, it’s a bit expensive but we have always enjoyed it. We had a nice meal though the starters were a little on the shy start. Three queen scallops in a little cheffy scrape of sauce does not cut it for me. The burger and chips were excellent. I had taken a chocolate cake in complete with two candles in a closed box. My wife had searched for hours to find those candles, a 2 and a 5 for our daughter and son-in-law’s 25th wedding anniversary. Only to be told that there was only one candle in the box, the 2. They swore that there was only one candle in the box but I know they were both in there when I delivered the cake in the morning of our meal. This spoiled the whole evening for my wife. We put the 2 on the cake and lit it but the moment was lost.

Great place to meet people and have breakfast. Lovely food and great service.

Lovely brunch here with a group of friends the cod coujons and chips were lovely. A little salad or peas on the plate would have given the food 5*

Not worth the money burnt burgers all round

My wife, son and I were looking for a last-minute eatery before heading home from our short break. We found Blas online and it looked appealing. A short walk from the town car park was an ideal location. We were greeted by friendly staff and shown to our table. Seating was comfortable and decor was sophisticated. Everything was spotlessly clean (including toilets). We found appetising options on the brunch menu and ordered promptly. Our food arrived in a short while and we tucked it to Salmon Risotto and Welsh Brunch. I like to eat something local when on holiday. I’d never eaten Lava Bread! We followed our meal with latte coffees. The whole meal and experience was excellent! Every detail - music, temperature, lighting had been given thought to and was just right. We can wholeheartedly recommend Blas and look forward to a time when we can revisit for more delicious food!

The food at Blas is delicious and great for gluten free people like me. Would definitely recommend and everyone new I take there also loves the food. Had a well priced organic bottle of wine, which was lovely, and the BBQ shortrib dish which was amazing.

Excellent quality food whenever I visit and myself or any of my family or friends have ever had a bad meal. Great quality produce, cooking and friendly staff. I love this place.

We have been here a few times and it is great for breakfast or brunch. If the weather is bice the outside area is great. This time we called for a breakfast. I had the full breakfast and my wife went for the Welsh breKfast. They had run out of black pudding so I had an extra slice of bacon instead. Both breakfast were excellent. We both had an americano as well. Lovely. We will be back soon.

Bendigedig! Bravo ! Bellisimo. Extra touches , lovely clean venue . Excellent,first class service from young staff. Da iawn. Very tasty and melt in your mouth beef and lamb. Tasty veg . If there was a criticism: and totally only my palette would be the gravy being too salty for my taste buds and overpowered the flavour of the delicious vegetables . However,my dad and partner would disagree lol 😆 . dad thought the rosties needed crisping more and slightly hard but wonderful flavour to the tatties. Prawns to start for me and my Partner's soup delicious too . No room for dessert as so much tasty meat and Yorkshire pudding. Took a box of veg home .waste not . Lovely vegetarian breakfast, but could have done with half the amount of food, would be good if they offered small portion for older people, lot of waste.

Lovely place, great service but the menu needs changing. Very little choice, myself and friends have been twice now and struggle to find something interesting on the menu.

I have been in many time with friends or by myself, and have always received grate service and outstanding food. Staff have always been attendive and polite nothings is too much trouble. Food is always upto high standard and delicious never been disappointed. Always got to have a check cake whilst thier they are always mouth- watering (100% must try). Really reasonable priced for the level of service and standard of food your getting. Really glad we have some where like this, for a nice meal or even a coffee & cake to enjoy for all. 10/10 couldn't recommend enough!!!Definitely worth a try. Plus they expect dogs in the out seating are which is just amazing.

Went with a group of friends for a meal in the evening. Greeted by helpful friendly staff which set a good tone for the evening. There were all sizes of groups, who had obviously chosen Blas to celebrate something special to them. The food arrived in a timely fashion, no mean feat as they were quite busy. It was tasty, attention had been paid to herbs and spices, and was a pleasant change from other venues. It cannot be considered cheap, but the quality and taste makes the price worthwhile.

What a lovely place to eat and drink, love a visit to Ammanford, and knew I wanted to try here. I was not disappointed! We have coffee and sandwiches, staff were excellent very quick service and the food was outstanding, hoping to try one evening. Highly recommended well worth a little trek !!

Lovely indoor and garden environment ideal for friendly chats. A very clean contemporary decor with good service. Several menus according to the time of day. I found the food well presented, well thought out, and nicely cooked. I intend eating there again and recommend it.

It was either left over roast beef from their Sunday lunches, this was on a Friday, or literally from a packet. So disappointed with this meal and also the staff reaction. When I asked why I had not been given steak like suggested on the menu the waiter went and asked the chef and the reply was it’s cut from a beef joint. When I replied so it’s not steak the waiters reply was “maybe it’s a steak joint” hmmmmmmmmmm 🙃 Would not visit again. Was still made to pay full price which was near £12!! Would have happily paid this for actual steak!! Also no salsa verde as described on the menu!

Booked a table for our 20th anniversary got there couldn't have our table as someone was sitting there, ordered 2brunch breakfasts withbubble&squeak which tasteddisgusting put me of my food all together,when the waitress came and collected the plates she asked if everything was all right I said no it tasted disgusting

Very slow service .food was awful soggy yorkshires potatoes black by the time veg came gravy was cold.some had to pay £1 for Yorkshire puddings never heard of that before really stingy.will not go back for food there.

Can't believe this used to be a chip shop one time, how it's transformed and is now a top place for sit in food. Menu was a little expensive but the food and service was fantastic and thoroughly enjoyed.

A really comfortable place to eat. We'll equipped for disabled access and a great few choices to choose from on the menu. We really enjoyed our first visit that we had to go back again. The team at this place are really friendly to.

Came here for brunch during the week. I ordered a coffee and a breakfast. The coffee was delicious, but it was quite a small mug. The breakfast was poor for the price. Very small portion which would have been fine if the quality of ingredients were better. The sausage was cheap as was the black pudding, they were more 'filler' than meat. I had no hash brown or bubble and squeak hash despite this being part of the breakfast. No explanation was given and I hadn't noticed until we had left as I had brought my baby so I was distracted. I wouldn't rush back as I feel you're paying for the look of the place not the actual quality of the food.

We went last night and had the chicken supreme and the belly pork. Portions were tiny, looked more like a starter than a main. My veg (asparagus) was way under cooked as was my potato. My chicken was ok but the skin was rubbery, if you're going to serve skin make sure it's crispy. My partners belly pork was good but could have done with a bit more cooking as a lot of the fat hadn't rendered down.Her veg was also hard but her mashed potato was good and the rubbarb sauce was very nice. Due to the small portions we were forced to have a dessert which is something we very rarely do. I wish we hadn't bothered! My rubbarb was so hard I couldn't cut it and the sponge served with it was almost as bad. My partners sticky toffee pudding had spent a little too long in the microwave and was not far from a biscuit! This should have been served with cream but ice-cream had been substituted. At almost £9 each for a dessert you'd expect something a bit better than that.All in all, a waste of £70. We will not be going back. On a positive note, our waiter was excellent!!!!!

The interior decor is lovely, stylish and modern, The staff are friendly and attentive. Food was well presented and absolutely worth the money! I had starter, main and desert, They have a children’s menu but it isn’t massive which I think is a good thing, but my son wanted a starter so ordered the soup of the day from the adults menu. I enjoyed the evening and will be back when I am visiting Ammanford again.

Visited here on a Saturday night for my birthday. It was just the 2 of us and we were going to have a romantic dinner together. Unfortunately it didn't feel that way. The tables are heavily seated next to each other in a galley sort of way. Everyone on other tables were talking very loudly over each other, approximately 10 tables with 2-4 people on each table. We were initially asked to sit at the front as our table wasn't ready and look at the drinks menu. Shortly afterwards we were taken to our table and the waitress left, having not taking our drinks order. About 15 minutes later she came to take our order, stating that the beef short ribs and belly pork was off the menu. We ordered drinks and a main course. Steak each, with sauce and a side of onion rings. We asked for rare, upon arrival it was cooked med-well done - very disappointing! We were unable to mention this to a waitress as we didn't see one again during our meal. We had no further offers of drinks. We were quite disappointed with the evening in what is meant to be a 'high end' restaurant. To spend nearly £80 on 2 drinks and 2 mains is a bit pricey. Unfortunately I will not be recommending or returning.

Delicious Sunday roast. I had the lamb partner had the beef and huge Yorkshire pudding. Rang up on the day and we must have been lucky to secure a rable. Can't fault a thing. We will definitely return to try the evening menu which looks amazing.

Lovely place, lovely presentation however my burger was dry and over cooked, had to put sauce on it to eat it. Nobody asked throughout the meal if everything was okay. Left over a quarter. With the price on the food too I was expecting perfection.

The roast dinner was lovely but the reason for the 2 stars in because the desert was tiny. I told the staff that the portion was smaller than a child’s and the reply was ‘that’s the portion sorry. Joke. Would have come back but not now.

Lovely all-day breakfast. Good size portion and we'll presented.

The service was ok, but asked for a hard cooked fried egg. It was runny & had already burst when our food got to the table. I left the parts of the meal that this was over. Nobody came to check on the meal if it was ok, I even mentioned it when paying & still nothing was done. It spoilt the meal.

My daughter and I had lunch which was okay, we payed as we ordered. My daughter then went to order a drink for us, she was told at till that she hadn't payed for the meals there was three at the till being very disrespectful! They insisted she hadn't payed, on checking the till they could see she Had Payed!!! No Apology was offered and attitude was very curt and rude. If that's how they treat customers I don't see them lasting long! My daughter had payed in total £30 for our meal and drinks. We won't be visiting there again!

Lovely ingredients but food always cold,tea always so weak..

Very lean portion sizing. The pork belly dish was cooked really well and was greatly enjoyable, however, it was no larger than a what would be expected for a typical starter portion size. Friends felt the same regarding their chicken and venison dishes. Welcoming amosphere and diligent staff.

Wow what an amazing find in Ammanford, happened across this bar kitchen looking for a late breakfast and spotted the Welsh breakfast on the menu and the rest is history "Best I've ever had", and coupled with wonderful service and a lovely environment, we will without doubt be returning, only hope it's as good second time round 🙂.

The restaurant itself is lovely, nicely decorated for Christmas however the staff is another issue. My waitress was impatient, abrupt and rude. I waited about 30 to 40 minutes for the breakfast i ordered and it was subpar when it arrived, my partner and I still tried to make the best of it and we were having a lovely time talking and drinking tea whilst eating, after about 20 minutes we had waitress after waitress come around to table to ask if we were done( mind you the restaurant was not busy at this time and there was no one waiting to be seated, plenty of tables were available) after letting them know multiple times that I was not done yet i finally got fed up and said yes. RIP to my breakfast as it was taken too soon 💔

Wonderful meal we eat outside my grandson and partner live in posh Cardiff the capital so I wanted to impress them and I did well done staff and chef first class they had beef I had lovely salmon very nice I am be back

Nice atmosphere, staff are great. Really poor mushroom broth starter, ran out of tofu with no replacement so served a combination of tasteless mushrooms, pak choi and watery broth. I've had tastier pot noodles! I had the short rib whilst my wife had the lamb, neither blew us away. Any of the Asian inspired cuisine failed to impress. Overall, if your used to posh-nosh it's not the place to be otherwise its very mediocre.

This was a perfect meal. Will definitely come back. Excellent service.
