West end cafe in Carmarthenshire

Had breakfast so disappointed sausage no taste beans cheap and tastlless bacon over done and overpriced this place is a gold mine sort yourself out people deserve more from you

Went for breakfast this morning, beans no taste. Bacon over cooked. Sausage not nice . Won't go there again. Sat outside.

Great biker friendly cafe, overwhelming array of good, reasonably priced food. Highly recommended

Regrettably this once great cafe has changed and not for the best. The warm welcome has gone and in its place you are met by a rude and pushy gentleman who constantly badgers his paying guests into ordering more food as they try to eat what they have already ordered. Pricing has also gone up however the quality of the food is not reflective of the increased margins. All in all after years of frequenting this establishment which often involved a worthwhile round trip of over 70 miles I cannot say I will be calling back anytime soon.

Delighted to discover one of my favourite Cafes still in business. Food freshly made and locally sourced. Very friendly Has changed hands but still definitely worth a visit

Good deals on week days just need a better Sunday lunch takeaway option

Had a takeaway cheese burger & chips there on my break the other day. The chips were brown, I asked for mayo they had none. I seen the chef then take the burger out of the microwave along with cheese he'd melted in there. The whole thing was a poor attempt at something so simple. Never again will I go there.

A busy place for a quick stop to grab tasteless food. A lot of staff and no one had any idea what they were doing. I asked for sourdough bread toasted ( as advertised "We do sourdough "), and the reply from the management was " huh? I don't know. We do grannery and white. " ). The sign was shown to the management, and she replied," Hmm, I don't think so, " whilst shrugging her shoulders. We ordered a piece of fish, two poached eggs on brown toast and two coffees it cost us £20.00. The service was quick, indicating the food had been sitting under a warmer. The fish was pale and tasted soggy. We will not be eating there again. My recommendation is to cook at home. Sorry, but this is my opinion, and I hope this doesn't put anyone off eating out at good food establishments.

Excellent cafe offering a range of excellent hot meals, homemade cakes, and snacks. Very friendly staff, good prices. Highly recommended.

Lovely food, had beef pie, chips, mushy peas and gravy. Stunning, could have eaten it twice. Would thoroughly recommend

Have been coming here for years to break up a journey I'm glad to say it has not changed not luxurious food, but good food that fills you up at a very reasonable price no airy fairy gimmicks on the menu

I deleted my previous review of The West End Cafe as it has been taken over since the last time I was there. I ordered a breakfast (minus egg and mushrooms) and was very disappointed that for £9.50 what I got. The fried potatoes literally were so crunchy it was just like the scrag end of chips from the chip fryer. I gave my bacon to my other half as it was so greasy and fatty on the edges. To be honest, it is the worst breakfast that I have had in a long time and the only saving grace was the sausages. Two breakfasts and 2 lattes cost £25.50 and trust me, I will stick with Tudors next time. Please work on it West End as you used to have an amazing breakfast when you were previously managed.

Wouldn't make a special run out to it but ok if your passing & need a quickish fuel stop, maybe caught them on a bad day but not the friendliest service today but later on a Sunday so all probably tired out so can forgive that

What a place they have got it well sussed works like clockwork. Great staff great food thank you for a lovely lunch and experience. We were just passing through on a motorbike weekend. We will definitely pop back in if we ome this way again.

Called into this place 2 weeks ago and ordered 2 x BEST bap and 1 coffee and 1 tea, which was £7.90 returning home from holiday 2 weeks later had the same order but cost £19.70 !! which is an increase of 150% when questioned about the price was told it is because it is after 10am ! told the owner that it was double the price, he just said that is what it is !! but because i had already paid and order was being processed. But won't be caught out again, greedy owner

Best Welsh Oggie I’ve had in years, great cafe, extremely popular with bikers, sadly very expensive, oggie& coffee, £8+!!

The worst breakfast I've had in a long time, sausages horrid, egg was almost raw on top (snotty) fried potatoes cooked in dirty oil. Yuk not cheap payed 22 quid only thing I enjoyed was my cup of tea been calling in here on trip across to breacon for 25 years . Will go to the cafe in garden centre from now on.

Friendly service but sadly the coffee & sausage sandwich were very disappointing indeed. Coffee was poor quality and very cheap sausages used, with no flavour whatsoever. Toilets had a dreadful smell and are in desperate need of updating. Have had much better quality from roadside snack shacks.

Lovely way to start the day with freshly cooked breakfast and a great cup of tea. Friendly service, very clean and nice decor.

Stopped here while travelling to wales. The staff were so friendly and helpful and all of them had smiles on their faces all the time, which is unusual nowadays. The drinks and food were spot on and may i recommend the custard slices. They also have a fish and chip shop takeaway or eat in as well as the eating part and a lovely seated area out back, which is where we sat i highly recommend this eatery if you are passing through.

Called at this cafe on the way to our holiday destination, the staff were friendly and helpful and food was great. It was so good we called again a week later on our way home. Top marks 😄

We popped into West End Cafe on the off-chance. Fantastic food on offer, nice atmosphere and service by all of the staff was second to none. We (Myself, wife and grandson) went in not really knowing what we fancied, and ended up having the 'Steak Pie Meal which was honestly lovely! The grandson had the' Chicken Nuggets' meal and he even ate it all. £30 for three meals, two teas and apple juice. Very happy and DEFINITELY be returning. 👍

This fish and chip shop is absolutely disgusting toilets are really bad not clean and tidy the customer survives is terrible and the food was disgusting me and my family spent £40 on dinner and it was not worth it at all I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone many thanks

Shame I had to give this a 1 star rating as it doesn’t deserve that at all. Came for food with my boyfriend and my son, after everywhere else was booked up or well over priced. Looked at the menu - thought great value for what we ordered. While waiting for our food, our son wanted to go to the toilet; I was absolutely mortified to see the state in which they were in, please see picture attached. Food arrived looked quite pleasant however, I am now left feeling really sick due to the food - chips were vile, full of oil - that should have been changed. Will not be returning.

I thought the food was expensive the pasty I had must of been on the hot plate for a while was hard £4.50 to eat in £3.60 takeaway £2.70 for the smallest coffee clearly gone down hill under new ownership.

Came in just for a quick coffee and maybe something to eat while on our way to somewhere, absolutely delicious food, chips, and of course coffee. The staff is absolutely amazing. Definitely recommend 👌

We went for breakfast at this cafe with our dog. They allowed us to order, pay and sit down before telling us dogs were only allowed outside. Even though there were no signs to that effect we, embarrassed, dutifully made our way outside. It was a rainy day so we had to sit in a covered area with 4 tables. Unfortunately 2 people were sat in the middle of the area smoking. Having health conditions that are affected by passive smoking I chose to walk the dog until the food came. In the hopes the smokers would have concluded by then. Again not making a fuss. The food was barely edible the dog, who will eat anything, looked sideways at the sausage. The smokers were of a chain variety. It was highlighted to staff that a sign clearly stating dogs were only allowed outside in the smoking area would have been helpful and avoided a very poor experience, they did not seem overly bothered. We felt humiliated, had our health compromised and felt ripped off with a £9:50 deep fried horror of a breakfast. I am happy to abide by rules of an establishment, if informed of those rules. I completely respect the right of others to eat in a dog free zone I do however feel that having a dog should not make you a social outcast with no more choices than cold rainy seats and passive smoking. All of this could have been avoided with clear signage.

Great cafe with very polite and efficient staff. We called on the way home from the Royal Welsh Show. The food was reasonably priced, served quickly and was very tasty. Will definately be calling again.

Nice place to stop on route to west wales

Always been a good stop off on the motorbike, is big enough to accommodate all walks of people though. Good food and coffee ☕ 😋 Cafe has an added bonus of a outdoor seating area also.

A gem of a cafe! Fantastic large outdoor area to sit, perfect for a sunny day. Staff were very polite, efficient & welcoming. Food was very tasty, plenty of choice on the menu too. Very impressed by the cavery & choice of homemade desserts that were available - I would definitely recommend the custard slices! Spotlessly clean. Plenty of places to park near the cafe too.

During our visit to the Urdd, we decided to pop into town for lunch. Chose this place and regretted not staying at the Urdd for lunch. Our meals were served one by one. First the lasagne. This came out cold and was sent back, returning...

Should change the name of the place to rhwygo i ffwrddhis, This cafe charges west end prices ( london ) but it is only Llandovery. £ 2.40 for a mug of tea is a joke. Not even a tea pot, self service. I have seen better service on roadside traillers The prices are not displayed in the window, so you ask on trust ....and you pay. There is inflation I agree but the owner is abusing the situation....don't encourage him. Pity that there is no competition around. .

Husband had a good breakfast but I ordered a cheeseburger and cheesy chips. Burger came without cheese. I took it back and the server dropped the burger onto the counter. I asked for a new burger and when he wasn't looking I took a chunk...

Perfect end to the day after visiting the Urdd Eisteddfod. Hungry kids and adults were fed with lovely food, well priced. Friendly staff. 😁

Stopped here on a ride out, lovely clean cafe with good service. Food arrived quickly and nice, hot and fresh. I had a sausage and egg sandwich and my friend had a full English. Both thoroughly enjoyed our meals. I will definitely be calling in if I am in the area again as the prices were also very reasonable.
