Visited today for a Sunday roast. Had two 'small' roasts, one lamb and one turkey. Both were delicious and cooked to perfection! Portions were very generous too. Very good value for money. One of the best Sunday roasts we have ever had! Very friendly staff. Cosy atmosphere. We will definitely visit again! Highly recommend!

It’s very deceiving from outside , which gives the appearance of being closed , BUT it’s a pub that has limited hours I now have discovered, M to S , 18.00 to xxxx , on Sunday 12.00 to 16.00 & 19.00 to 23.00 Once inside the Hosts are very friendly , great range of Draughty Ale ie Bass etc , It has a very comfortable atmosphere and was surprised how big & busy it was it was , when we visited , with the majority of the clients walking , hardly any vehicles outside , Looking forward to visiting again soon ,

This is a review of the takeaway service offered by Toby Carvery at the Cockleshell. Came to pick up a takeaway we ordered. We were told to take a seat & we would be called when it was ready. We had no choice over veg, (which was disappointing ) but only the meat. After half an hour we went to see when our order would be ready. The pub itself was very quiet. No one was waiting at the carvery. We were told that they were very busy with deliveries as they were the only Toby in Swansea & our order was being prepared. In total we waited over 45 mins. In fairness we were given some drinks & extra pigs in blanket as we had such a long wait. However our meal certainly wasn't worth the wait! The parsnips & roast potatoes were over cooked, some were black & not edible. The meat, carrots, peas & mashed potatoes were fine. I think there was a very tiny bit of cauliflower ?? The red cabbage was soggy. The gravy was Ok, as were the pigs in blanket but we never ate the Yorkshire puddings. I would say this was one of the worst carvery's we have ever had. We were really disappointed with this service & quality of food being served. I would never serve over roasted potatoes or parsnips to anyone. I certainly wouldn't use this service again.

My husband and I chose to have lunch at your restaurant today. I have to say it was really bad, the pork belly was so tough it was impossible to eat, the chicken breast was tough. We are disappointed.

We were a table booked in of 16 from 17:00 for a works Christmas meal, in part paid by personal means. I'll start with the positives: Staff "seemed" friendly and the establishment was clean and tidy; sadly this was the only positives of the night. It wasn't until nearly 6pm we got our starters, after informing staff we were ready at about 17:15; one of which wasn't served until everyone else had finished. Upon finishing them relatively quickly, we weren't served our mains until 18:45. I had the 'Festive Burger', which was pretty sub-par (not very "festive", even Santa would wonder were the festivity aspect had gone to) and the fries were horrendous sticks of rock hard cardboard that could be used to nail an IKEA cabinet together. My colleague sat next to me said his turkey was cold (I did bring this up and the waitress who I spoke to was accommodating in suggesting they reheat it) and colleague across from me did not like his turkey dinner. This sentiment was felt up and down the table. If the restaurant was extremely busy, I can understand as I used to be a chef in a very busy restaurant so I know how frustrating it can be to get multiple covers some over the course of several hours; but this was visibly not the case. We could see the staff standing around talking and just hanging about. I, and a few of my colleagues decided to leave by 8pm as we were fed up with waiting for our desserts and couldn't be bothered to wait any longer. Just as I was leaving, a colleague asked where the desserts were and I have been advised there was another 10 minute wait from then. We were never asked during the course of our stay if everything was okay, nor did anyone come to apologise or let us know how long the food would be. Collectively we have all had an extremely unsatisfying experience at this establishment and as a result, will not be attending ever again.

Fantastic family lunch. The festive menu was brilliant! Kids enjoyed it also. Service was efficient and friendly. Lucy was on the ball with my husbands allergies. Will visit again soon.

I believe I've received service from the same boy as the last 2 negative responses. Absolutely disgusting the way he's speaking to customers. He should not be working in a customer service environment. Formal complaint raised to head office.

It's a pleasant place. It's sterile atmosphere it's part of American/British culture but it's not a restaurant as everything is cooked from frozen instead from fresh by a chef. The final food on your plate tastes nearly "okay" though. The staff are trying their best reflecting their minimum wage renumeration. Pleasant though and happy to take your orders. Summing up. Not the place where you will take your loved ones it your mates for a 🍻🍻 Plenty of space to park too.

As you would expect spoons to be. One occasion the fryer wasn't working but gave other options. I was impressed with that.
