Lovely meal. Great service from Naomi. Would definitely recommend.

We had visited the restaurant on a number of previous occasions. This time we ordered from the 3 course lunch deal menu. Unfortunately, we found the steaks that we ordered overcooked and burnt around the edges, despite ordering them medium to well done. The steaks were rather 'chewy' and not at all tender. In addition, we had to wait about 40 minutes just for the starter meals which seemed rather excessive. On the positive side, the staff were very pleasant. Obviously, Christmas is a busy time and mistakes happen, but we felt a little disappointed at this visit.

We went to the Breakfast with Santa at the Plough Whitchurch on 21/12/24. The staff were amazing. The food was lovely and the activities for the kids were fab. Very reasonably priced. Will definitely book again for next Christmas. The kids loved the face paints, crafts and reindeer food making, story time and of course seeing the big man himself! Big thank you to all the staff! 🎄🎅🏻

Had to send both steaks back, as they were very tough. Very short staffed.

Too late for the deal but nice to get a good table on a walk-in so close to Christmas. We both chose the pie accompanied by a pleasant glass of house white. Very tasty and good value food. Toilet facilities very good. Pleasant lively atmosphere.

Popped in for friends to have a pint of SA. Atmosphere was friendly and comfortable.

Lovely food and attentive staff. Love a real fire. Warm and cozy. Busy but not noisy. The steak was ie chicken s delightful.

This is not our nearest pub but the one we go to out of choice when looking for a relaxed and casual late lunch. Landlord and landlady are friendly and the food quality good. This has a good blend of locals, regulars and new guests and can cater for couples, families, larger groups and even the odd dig or two.

Very polite and helpful service. Clean. Nice food. Quiet environment to enjoy chatting.

Lovely place and staff are friendly. We had the Christmas menu and it was cooked beautifully and so much food. Chef Tom cooked the food just to our liking and front of house/waiter Mike was really attentive with knowledge and service and politeness

We popped into the Plough for an early tea. It was very welcoming and festive. Lots of lovely Christmas lights. It was also nice and warm. We ordered our food and although we had to wait for a while it was well worth it. I had the seabass which was delicious. My husband had a curry which he thoroughly enjoyed . We shared a pudding which was very nice, chocolate brownie and ice cream.The staff were very pleasant. We will definitely go back. Thank you

Had been working all day and didn’t manage to get here til 6.15pm. Rang in advance and they confirmed they were still doing Sunday Roast. Only Turkey and Pork left due to late in day but the Turkey was delicious. Came with a great selection of vegetables: roast spuds, parsnip, peas, red cabbage, mangetout. Other Trimmings: Stuffing and Yorkshire, cranberry sauce. I ordered cauliflower cheese as well. Had the Banoffee ice cream cake with caramel sauce for desert. Excellent. Service was excellent too. Best eating out experience I’ve had in a while. Top marks.

The Manager is a credit to the establishment,very welcoming,patient with guests requirement and accondates their needs . Service it the table very professional. Food very well prepared , hot on arrival , good choices , always fresh . Ambience lovely ,lots of rooms , well decorated . My husband and I booked a meal here with friends. Our waitress named Carie was really bubbly, helpful and efficient, even though it was only her second night. Our food was excellent with good portions, and the atmosphere was very relaxed. We all thoroughly enjoyed our evening and would definitely return.

We visited for a special Birthday meal and we were not disappointed. The meal was absolutely delicious and the service was exceptional. Will definitely be back.

Enjoyed a lovely meal tonight, we had the sticky chicken and pesto houmous to start, both were gorgeous. Then had the Camembert burger and truffle Mac and cheese both were sooo good. Didn't have dessert as too full! Naomi provided a friendly welcome and our waitress Eva was lovely, thank you both. Lovely Friday evening meal.

Lovely lunch, great service.I was given the courtesy of a phone call explaining that due to staff shortages the main part of the restaurant would be closed but we could still have lunch in the bar or lounge. I’ve had a roast dinner several times here and it’s always very good. Forget carvery’s, treat yourself to a real home cooked roast. Amy took care of me yesterday and I had the restaurant to myself. I ordered the chicken, beef and lamb mix selection. The meal was a wholesome portion and very tasty. The meats were cooked to perfection. There was mangetout, roast carrot, broccoli, green beans and red cabbage. The Yorkshire pudding was perfect and the gravy was delicious. Great texture, rich, perfect colour and plentiful. I savoured every mouthful. For desert I chose the apple and cherry crumble with vanilla ice cream. Again this was very nice and tantalisingly good. I cleaned the bowl naturally. A pint of Reverend James was the ale of choice. Amy was very warm, friendly and attentive. Outstanding meal and excellent service. Highly recommended. 🌟

Got a phone call 2hrs before booking time to say they had run out of roasts. Fair enough and glad you'd let us know. However when we got there it turned out you were out of alot of other dishes too, including both sea bass and steaks which we found out 10 mins after ordering one. There was a large party that evening who we suspect had pre ordered given the size and the fact that they were served with roasts and steaks, which demonstrated that you could not meet demand even with preorders. We settled for burgers which tasted burned and the "special" one was anything but, with disintegrated and, therefore, tasteless cheese.

Food was good however service was a little slow.

Lovely place with hearty pub food, great for Sunday Lunch. Reasonable pricing, attentive staff and a generally lovely atmosphere. We went because a voucher came through the door, but I would be more than happy to eat here again. The meal was substantial (enough for us not to bother with desert!), so make sure you are hungry. Mains were around £15-£20, requests were attended to promptly. Very friendly family-oriented pub.

Nice atmosphere, very accommodating with a young child. Food was lovely, we ordered off the lunch menu and the fish finger sandwich was yummy. We will be back soon.

The service itself was extremely disappointing. The waiter was rather unhelpful, I spotted a hair in my boyfriend’s burger and before I’d even touched it the waiter said it wasn’t a hair it was part of the pork. I pulled it out it was 4inches long! If he knew it was there (which he clearly did) he should have atleast taken it out before serving it and then point blank refused to do anything about it just walked off. Terrible service will not be rushing back at all

This place has now become my regular place to eat. Great food and service, fish and chips is awesome and such big portions which I have on a Friday.

Food was fab, service friendly. All clean and well kept. Chef Chezz came to check on us and chat which was lovely.

Fantastic place for a meal and drink, just enjoyed a delicious meal, thanks to chef Alex. The manager Laura is the perfect host, we are planning to come back asap.

We visted as three adults and a dog, for my husband's birthday after a walk. We were able to sit in a very nice area next to the restaurant. Our food was decent, everything was available (seems to be very common these days to have 50% of a menu unavailable!) and reasonably priced, though like most food outlets prices have increased. Staff were very pleasant indeed.

I quite like the Plough as a place to have a pint. But wouldn't be my first choice if I were looking for somewhere to eat.

This our 2nd visit on a Saturday and the fish and chips was delicious ,a variety of wonderful dishes to choose from . Excellent range of starters that can be used as a main if you fancy a lighter bite . Staff are friendly , efficient , very clean food area and outdoor area is pleasant to in . Drinks and food are sensible pricing . Sunday lunch is a delight and plentyful.
