The atmosphere of this Weatherspoons is truly unique inside, and it's a large establishment with outdoor seating and an upstairs with spacious window seating. We enjoyed a few drinks outside and would recommend.

Long wait to get served app not working

My friends and I ordered 2 large and 2 small fish and chips, last Saturday. The small fish was of a chipolata sausage size, the large fish was not much bigger. The food was warm, not enough on the plate for the price that was charged. We did complain but the attitude of the ? Manager was quite dismissive of our complaint. We've ate in many Wetherspoons and had good value for money. This was no comparison! We will never goo there

Great place in the centre of Cardiff

Wow, disgusting security! It's a shame that what was a pleasant night, good service and good atmosphere could be destroyed by a single security guard that clearly thought he was god! It was closing time, we were told to drink up which we did. Then a young lad who thought he was God's gift came with all the attitude stating he wanted to go home, to get out, rude and aggressive ended an otherwise good night for all. Shame on you for allowing this, never again, disgusting service, he need sacking as clearly a self indulged power trip happy youngster giving what was otherwise a good establishment a bad rep.

The service is always on point, with staff that are quick to make you feel at home. It's the kind of place where you can always expect a good time, whether it's a casual evening out or a gathering with friends for a special occasion. This pub is definitely worth checking out for its great drinks, tasty food, and inviting atmosphere. I'll certainly be back soon!

Great cheap place for full breakfast

Cracking place to meet up with friends, where you can have some food and drinks.

I mean you can't really fault it for the price before a footy match. Food and drink slow to arrive but given the numbers inside, understandable.

This place is close to the Cardiff centre. The food was excellent and brilliant value for money. The staff were really helpful and there was a very friendly atmosphere in this very busy pub restaurant. Highly recommended

How can you, the Prince of Wales, increase your liquor prices from one night to the next by 20% to take advantage of unsuspecting rugby fans? On Friday 22 Nov, a round of drinks cost me £20,45, yet on Sat 23 Nov, the same drinks cost me £24,84. When I queried this, I was told that this was the price. According to the drinks menu viewed on Friday night, the lower price was correct, yet the arrogant idiot that served me on Saturday insusted thst the higher charge was correct and he probably pocketed the difference. Shame on you Prince of Wales

This is a great venue for the rugby as it's in a short walking distance of the pub. Get in before the game and back in again after. Great place to soak up the atmosphere

The way the bouncers treat neurodiverse people is absolutely shocking. I support an adult who told me about his and his friends experience. They shouldn't have been treated the way they were.

Prince of Wales is great when comparing Wetherspoons. The pub is situated in an old theatre and the interior is quite aesthetically pleasing.

Came here a few times for drinks over the weekend while staying in city. Typical spoons food n drink. Table service was handy during busy periods. Pub had some interesting decor having used to be a theatre some time ago.

Service was fantastic. Food was nice except chips were a little undercooked. Didnt sell steak which is disappointing.Other than that i cant complain. I reccomend the lemon&herb chicken👍

We called in here for a few drinks and the place was really busy. We were lucky enough to find a table, but the service at the bar was very slow.

I am making a complaint in the way my son and his friends were treated. They are autistic and have special needs they came to have a meal and a drink and just have a nice time. One of the bouncers stopped my sons friend. He took the drink off him and threw his drink on the floor and the bouncer swear at my sons friend this behaviour from your staff is well out of order. My son and friend are so upset about it all they wanted to do is have a nice time. I would like some feed back as to know how this has been dealt with No one deserves to be treated in this way really discusscusting.

What a shame, that security guard won't let my deaf friend in cos of his disability, shame on you for not having a disability deaf-blind awareness, sort yourselves out!!! Clearly making out that's you know aware of disability and deafness, what a false!

I had a very enjoyable afternoon at the 'Prince of Wales', which was situated close to the main public transport links. There was an excellent choice of Real Ales on offer for under £2.00 a pint and a very good choice of standard food dishes at extremely reasonable prices, along with great service. Given that it was a Friday afternoon, the venue was very busy, which made for a great atmosphere.

It's a Spoons. Staff were friendly, but very busy. The food varied from nice to not good enough. Based on my experience I would suggest you avoid the burgers. The boneless chicken was good.

Large Breakfast was awful. Both Eggs cold and solid. You could count the beans (very few) Bacon could not be cut thinner! Nothing was HOT. The toast was the bes thing if anything. Awful for the cost.

For the price it's great value and love that they keep the old theatre vibe.

Lovely grand old theatre, loads of space and great staff.

Almost right outside the train and bus station, just at the beginning of the vibrant city centre. It is a sprawling building across 2 floors and was filled to the brim with people. Had a standard pub fare with the usual wetherspoon rates. But what stood out was that it's a converted theatre, a building i haven't seen used some other way before. You can see the stage rigging, and the remains of the different circles of seating. Must visit it if you're in cardiff and looking to grab a quick drink.

My fish was probably re-heated, dry, overcooked, disappointing. The staff were lovely, but our table was not cleared after 3 hours.

This was our second eating at this location. Service was as quick and prompt. Food portions are more than adequate - had the fish and chips and a beer. The price was reasonable. Unfortunately the fries were a tad underdone - not so crisp. But overall good value.

Good breakfast here - eggs Benny were delicious and the ham on it was wonderful. But it was quite the serve yourself affair, everything from ordering to coffee and condiments, and of course it was quite a pubby surrounding for breakfast. (side note: they really need to put signs on the north doors that people should use the nearby door instead, as I watched people over and over try to use this locked door)

Pretty good. Lots of tables!! Toilets are all the way downstairs which quite a long walk especially if you're sat upstairs 😭😭

Typical Spoons pub. Staff were ok. Only had a couple of pints. I took the time to check which real ales were showing on the bar before I ordered on the app only to be told the beer I chose wasn't available anymore. Checked again and although the pump badge was still showing and it was still showing available on the app it wasn't available. Pump badges need to be turned around when the beer goes off and the app should be updated.

One of the better, and more attractive Wetherspoons on Cardiff. Service very slow, better using the app, and they kept running out of pint glasses!!

Visited in August Location is fab. Interior even better. Scampi and chips and 2 chicken burgers and chips. Service was quick, Just what you expect from a wetherspoons.

This place is big, lots of room , ground and 1st floor, the food was really good and fair price, impressive building as well.

My friends and I came in, and we couldn't understand where we could sit. When we finally found a place, the waiters ignored us, so we called them to clean our tables, and they only cleaned 2 out of 5. Even after a second request, they wouldn't clean and were very rude. Ordering is very complicated, and the food is not abundant in portions and not so good. The service is shockingly bad (like they continuously brought us wrong orders), and waiters are always unavailable. A vegetarian friend of mine was brought a plate with chicken, and they brought the right order just when everyone had finished. The tomato hamburger had a quarter of a slice of tomato. I'm appalled. The only good thing was the location, and it wasn't even clean.

I can safely say this was the best restaurant to have a breakfast while we been in Cardiff. It was in a very close proximity of the hotel we stayed at, the atmosphere there was enjoyable, although it was quite busy. The food was fresh and served really fast considering the amount of people present. We barely found a table in our first day, so you can imagine. I definitely recommend if you're in search for a quick meal, plenty of dishes to choose from as well.

We walked miles to look for a meal with gravy, only to have to order either fish, burgers or pork sausages. When we found out that other wetherspoons were nearby were doing pies and mash, what a waste of a holiday meal.

Packed on a Saturday afternoon/evening in the summer in Cardiff. Cheap food and drink and great atmosphere. Just what you want before hitting the other pubs and clubs

What a lovely interior! Sat upstairs by window to watch the world go by. Food was easy to order on the app and came quickly. Panini was tasty but lacked any presentation, looked like it was thrown on a plate and someone thought that'll do!
