Nice food and great prices but brought out the order wrong once, and the chips had to be reheated. The pool table has now been taken away which used to be one of the reasons to go there.

I want to express my gratitude to the entire staff for their support when a young person I was working with suddenly fell ill. From the management to all the staff, they were incredibly helpful and supportive. This establishment is the first place where I have seen genuine effort put into vegetarian food, and it was absolutely delicious. Thank you very much.

We were a party of 4. I had the mixed grill which was amazing. All our food was outstanding, but the toilets here were vile. Most were out of order, and those you could use the floor was wet through with urine and wet tissue. Very unhygienic. The toilet floors were horrid. Hire a cleaner and you would of got a 5 star because the food was brilliant 👏🏼

Lovely staff, very welcoming. I always get service with a smile when I go in! Katie at the bar was very helpful! Food was good, a slight bit of a wait but it was busy so expected, the food was beautiful and very fairly priced! 10/10 would recommend for anyone looking for a budget friendly outing!

This is a proper locals pub. Food was decent, particularly the steak on a hot plate. Staff were friendly enough but the vibe for an outsider was a bit sketchy on a very wet Saturday night where the outside area was not an option. Before the rain, sitting outside was otherwise quite pleasant.

This place has gone down hill the toilet are filthy skirting boards crumbling away tiles falling off the wall, carpet around the entrance to the kitchen matted to the floor ,meals also have become disapointing

Very welcoming pub great staff and atmosphere lots of TV screens on and everyone watching the football match. The meal we ordered arrived piping hot and was cooked to perfection great evening out with company made it a special day. Will definitely be going there again.

Have to say, was a really nice visit. I've not been to Man of Gwent for around 3 years or more. Walking in today to be welcomed by a smiling member of Staff named Abbi which set me at ease immediately, she sorted our drinks and food order with ease. She's a credit to the team there. Really welcoming environment, made even more so by Abbi.

Great service , welcomed instantly by the lovely abbi , who’s always catered to my sons autism and can never do enough for him . He chooses this place as he knows his needs are met and he feels like he has servers and staff who understand him . Today visited with a friend and still met with the same level of attention and service . Cannot praise her enough . Service with a smile

Came into the pub for food, was greeted by the most friendly and heart warming bar staff. Shannon stood out because we feel like she went above and beyond to meet our expectations.

Was on holiday and had a meal in the pub was really nice good service. Have been before, and my son, who lives local, uses it all the time, never a bad experience.

I Visited with a few friends on a weekend, it’s usually very difficult to find somewhere to eat & drink with friends /couples as a person with coeliac, ( and a little embarrassing having to ask and be so particular and cautious about food) but the man of gwent had a great gluten free menu and the manager was very knowledgeable of what this entails and was happy to talk through the menu and reassured me that it’s cooked safely and precautions are taken to avoid cross contamination, I was even informed the supply gluten free peroni which was an added bonus! The food was great, fresh and well presented. Staff: were all very welcoming and friendly and seemed to have a good bond and communication between them all. I will definitely return again and recommend on the coeliac forums.

Very busy as expected however this did not impact our experience. The young lady with pink hair was very polite and cheerful. And the food was fantastic. The only downfall is the toilets, they really do need ripping out and replacing. I didn't let this impact my score though as the food and service was just perfect. We will return.

Came for lunch with a friend, both had steak and was absolutely delicious. Food came out piping hot and steak cooked to perfection.

Nice pub, very friendly, helpful staff. Good menu, different deals on each day. Offer when we went on burger meals, buy one get one free. We had a steak meal very nice and a flan meal, this was delicious.

This was my second visit to the Man of Gwent. I ordered the beef lasagne with dressed salad and garlic bread. My taste buds had a treat with the flavour, . I have no hesitation in recommending this place to friends and family.

Stopped off for a couple of pints, sat in the beer gardenwhich was great. Staff were friendly and helpful, will definitely return and have food from their menu

I came in a few days ago and I feel like I must have to thank a certain member of staff called Shannon, she was very friendly and patient whilst I was visiting with my baby, food was lovely and she couldn’t of done enough for us we will be looking forward to returning again in the future

Great service ,good prices, reasonable menu, very good mix grill although Avoid the steak all cuts are tough and like rubber , we all had one with grill and all 5 of us could not cut or chew the stake from M/r to W/done . We booked a table for 14 people for our wedding party. We were really pleased with the quality service, nice friendly staff who are very helpful. We ordered a variety of main courses and deserts, which we all enjoyed. We will definitely be visiting again

good meal here on the Island.Bit short of parking when we went but it was busy and we had to park over the road.Service good .Menu a bit long so was a job to make up your mind quickly but we are retired so there was no rush.

Visited here to watch the Leeds match with my daughter. The staff were very accommodating to ensure we had a table with view of the TV and in the bar where the sound was. The waitresses were both very friendly and the service was quick. A pleasant and enjoyable pub to visit.

Four of us met here for lunch on a Saturday in March. The menu is extensive so allow lots of time for making up your mind. The men both had steak and the women both had the chicken dish where you choose from a range of options. We were all happy with the food we received. Everything was as hot / crispy / soft / smooth as it should be. It's obviously a popular place; the one downside of this is it's a bit noisy on a Saturday. I'd like to go back and see what it's like during the week.

Nothing special, an average pub. Ordered the drinks and food in their app, which is second time won't work. They missed two desserts, so I needed to chase it. They have EV charger in the car park, but can't use it because blocked other cars.

Busy atmosphere, however it didn't effect service. Food was quick and looked good/tasted good. The service at the bar was friendly and came with a smile :) . A good choice for food or drinks with friends for a catch up.

Had a wonderful meal at the Man of gwent yesterday. The service was great! We were served by a wonderful waitress Abi! She went above and beyond for use. Her customer service was amazing and she looked like she cared about the customer. Absolute star Abi was.

Probley the worst meal I've had ordered a piri wrap.was cold and soggy the waitress did offer to warm it in the microwave but that wouldn't have helped with how bad it was my husbands steak was ok typical pub steak ,have had food here before and its been ok put off today by returning.

Just fed the whole family for £15 , tasted to food to be true . Definitely be coming back. Was lovely and fresh, and customer service was amazing.

Wide choice of food and drink. If you love meat, then look no further for a reasonable priced meal. Staff were warm and friendly. I usually order desert, but was too full after the large portion of food. Will definitely be back for a mid week treat soon.

This visit was the second time I visited so I will combine both into one. The first time was very pleasant. Good food, reasonable prices, very nice staff. We were very happy. We did notice that it was dog friendly so we came back this time with our furry friends in tow. On our second visit, we went direct to the restaurant area as the other area where we had sat on our first visit was quite full with people watching football. We went to sit down and were told that dogs were not allowed in the main restaurant area. We would have to eat in a different area. This was the area which was devoted predominantly to people watching live sport and drinking rather than eating. We didn't mind and went to have a look. We were unable to find a table as they were filled up with, yes, people eating but mostly, people watching football. I am not complaining about this in any way but we decided to leave. It is not a reflection on the pub or staff at all but I guess it is a fine line between catering to your clientele and attracting people wish to eat and would spend a decent amount of money. I have eaten in numerous restaurants which advertise themselves as dog friendly and are welcome throughout the restaurant when properly supervised. It made me about this pubs strategy. They have clearly considered how diners in their restaurant might feel about sharing a dining space with people with a dog. I don't think they have thought so much about how diners with a dog, but diners nevertheless, would feel eating a meal surrounded by people who are not eating and reacting to football with the usual banter. I don't find the area we were sent to, to be a particularly pleasant place to eat at certain times. Sport on TV, gambling machines, pool tables, darts, and very little seating. Just my opinion but I will return because, as I said, the food was good and reasonably priced, the staff were very pleasant.

It was a great experience for my company any myself. Even the French were satisfied and that takes some doing. The pint weren’t flat which was a bonus and the girl with the c chain was friendly. Went today for early dinner after not visiting for a while. I had sirloin steak and was very disappointed. It was tiny and full of gristle. Would not order again.

There were 10 of us and every meal came out on time and perfectly cooked. Service was friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Everyone enjoyed their meals and we had a really lovely family get together.

The food was brought out very quickly and wasn’t undercooked. I did however order an All American Burger that didn’t come with bacon but it was so good that it didn’t matter. The staff were friendly too.
