Thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The food was delicious, locally sourced ingredients . We loved the duck starter dish, recommended by Michelle. It was so tasty! The Welsh lamb we had for our mains was also an excellent choice. Great food and excellent service!

A lovely restaurant within the hotel overlooking the River Conwy. Friendly staff who were attentive and courteous without being over fussy. We had a starter of salmon, with my wifes done slightly different as she is gluten free. delicious. The mains were cooked to perfection and I was quite supprised, and pleased, that the meals were proper portions, especially as it is a fine dining restaurant. Couldn't fit a desert in as too full!

Probably the first real fine dining experience in 3 years . I am fortunate to be well traveled and it is a long long time since I have experienced a meal of this quality. Good to know all the taste buds are still there ! Made even more special with a table over looking the river and fantastic staff serving us.

We ate here both nights and the food is very good but I found the service slow. I accept that food is freshly cooked so we have to wait but this felt very long. We did try to hurry things the second time by skipping the starter but this did not work. They also did not appear to have everything on the menu in stock but took 10 mins to come and tell me, that they did not have the dessert I had ordered. Apart from this, the food was delicious and they put a lot of it on your plate so no way anyone would go home hungry

We ate in the restaurant as non-residents and had an excellent meal with beautiful river view. We enjoyed a three course meal. The food was tasty and cooked well. We ordered lamb and steak for our mains and both were tender. The accompanying vegetables were good. The location is beautiful and we had a window seat overlooking the river which was lovely. The staff were attentive without being intrusive. Drinks arrived at the right times to go with the food. A very enjoyable dinner and evening.

Such slow service, took ages to be served, for drinks to arrive, never asked if we wanted another drink & waited nearly an hour for the bill. There is a definite feel that if you are not Welsh you are not welcome!!!

Booked this restaurant for a 60th birthday. Booked it well in advance. A special birthday has as much planning as a wedding, over many, many months. 24 hrs before meal, today, hotel cancelled our booking. I literally burst in to tears. One of their chefs was self isolating. One remained working. Birthday meal was for a nurse, so we know the pitfalls of Covid, However, there was still a working chef. Rang hotel as we had nowhere else booked. They were SO unhelpful and uncaring and where not the least bit concerned that the 60th was ruined. I explained the situation above about not having anywhere else booked and could they fit us in as they still had a chef. They refused. I informed our elderly mother, aged 84yrs, that the hotel had cancelled our booking at such short notice. My mother rang them to complain and a man, who I think was named Rob, hung up on her. She was so upset about this and that her daughters day was ruined. Again, nobody can help Covid, we understand that, but it was the hotels attitude and customer service that absolutely stunk. They were so uncaring, would not budge concerning the other chef, non plus that we had now here else booked, they cancelled 24hr s before the meal, rude hanging up, and totally uninterested that the day was ruined for this special birthday. Again, it would be similar to suddenly cancelling a wedding, with its months of planning. We had planned for months for this 60th. We then had to scramble to try and find somewhere else. Many other places were fully booked and we were totally desperate, but we eventually managed to find somewhere as it was a Wednesday. I dread to think what would have happened if it had been the weekend. A 60th celebration on a park bench!!! If you want uncaring, rude and non plus staff and dreadful customer service, this is the place for you. If not, avoid like the plague!!!

We were staying in Llanberis but thought Betswy Coed looked really lovely and so we booked a table at this hotel. The staff were very welcoming and attentive. The food, wine and service was fantastic. We enjoyed our first visit so much that we cancelled a table at another restaurant later that week so we could return. On this visit the waitress arranged for us to sit at a table overlooking the beautiful river views. We ordered from the bistro and a la carte menus and both times were such a high standard. Would highly recommend.
