The Carlton in Conwy

Second visit of the week and different staff, different experience the food was great, the atmosphere was good, a really festive vibe. The problem came with the barman who struggled with the till, couldn't add 13 and 17 and insisted on calling the manager as the Monday to Thursday offers weren't visible to him 15 minutes later we were sorted but what a performance

Good atmosphere, had a couple of drinks after walking up the Great Orme.

Came back to this pub or if you can call it that as everyone deserves a second chance food was served freezing and very rude staff won’t be bothering again !

This pub it has to be said pushes the boat out at Christmas with the decorations.. we always enjoy having a drink here & if you download the app you don't even have to leave your seat.. They play great music & the staff are really nice.. We had a lovely young lady serve us a few times sorry we didn't get her name but she was really nice.. We had a breakfast one morning & it was ok but what made it great was the barman made us the most delicious milky coffee & he was lovely..... .. .. honestly give the place a whirl if you are in Llandudno...

Always a nice atmosphere, not tried the food, hot drinks basic.

Apologies for getting mixed up, is a lovely pub with karaoke and food served till 7pm, the food being served looked great as many was opting for the burgers with a pint. Was quite busy but service was fast with friendly welcoming staff.

Had a great meal at sensible price, beer ok as well.

Had an absolutely fantastic night in The Carlton. Bingo was on,didn't win but still enjoyed it. Tracy looked after us well. Will return

Great pub came to Llandudno for the scooter rally , but stayed in here most of the Saturday night instead, good beer , great atmosphere, and great staff,

Fuimos a tomar una cerveza y algo de comida. Solo había un tipo que servía y parecía estar mezclando cócteles. Había una cola de cinco personas que otros miembros del personal podían ver pero no parecían molestados, así que después de quince minutos nos rendimos Tengo que decir que al salir fui al baño y era una propina, sucia y olorosa y con detritus en el suelo Me alegro de que no nos hayan servido...

Came in for some drinks and bingo last week. A very welcoming pub with great staff and atmosphere. Max in particularly was an amazing host and truly made our night. He is a credit to the place!

Good service and got served quickly apart from the barmaid didn't understand a question regarding if the pub sold Gluten free beer, so my partner just had a cider in the end which is totally fine.. The pub should provide gluten free beer and also we couldn't have any food as there wasn't any choice to have a gluten free meal. I wouldn't really say there was a Atmosphere either.

Had a delightful experience down at the Carlton last week! A Diet Coke in the sun went down a treat in the outside sitting area and a big thanks to Max (service with a smile by the way) who brought out some bowls of water for my dogs Tinny and Gail too which was much needed🐶 Brilliant atmosphere on kareoke night too🎤

Lovely pub with wonderful staff. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was amazing. Lovely to speak to some locals and the bar staff. One staff member in particular, short gentleman with glasses and a beard, Max I think his name was. He couldn’t have been better, recommended an excellent meal, was always on hand to get another drink and even provided my dog with a bowl of water and a small treat. I will definitely be returning on my next visit. And thank you to the lady for refusing service to the child trying to buy beer, when he didn’t have any ID.

Lovely little spot on the corner where we could sit outside and take in all of Llandudno’s beauty. The food was very good and was served quickly by one of the staff, Max - who was very welcoming and personable. Our family felt very comfortable there, and no riff-raff were allowed in to drink diet cokes, which made us feel very safe.

As an avid reviewer for local pubs, I truly believe the Carlton Llandudno is up there with one of my favourites. Last week I was on holiday visiting my Welsh family with my uncle Glyn and his dog Dedoid. As we were walking up the high street I noticed a jam packed pub with a great atmosphere. I wasn’t too sure if dogs were allowed inside so we asked a member of staff. Luckily this member of staff was quite possibly the funniest bloke I’ve ever met. I think his name was Mack or Max!! We were sat down straight away and had the best pub food (burger chips + brownie). Mack (max) gave us tips on the local cycling tracks and bird spotting locations on the Orme. I will be back here every year from now on!! I hope Mack (max?)will be there too as he’s a great host and laugh. Dedoid did not want to leave his side so I think he approves too.

If I could give it no stars I would staff are absolutely shockingly rude. I walked all the way there took me a good 15/20 mins as it said it was dog friendly all over the internet. I get there for them to tell me to get out and dogs aren’t allowed in here it’s absolutely shocking there’s a way to talk to people and that wasn’t the one. On a cold rainy day you just want somewhere to sit which is warm and cozy with your dog which is welcoming where you can enjoy some hot food and drinks why advertise your dog friendly then for people to get there and to be told they aren’t allowed in is shocking.

This pub always provides a. welcoming atmosphere with good food and drinks. The friendly staff adds to the charm, but Max, one of the bartenders, really stands out. His attentive service and warm personality make every visit memorable. Whether you’re a regular or a newcomer, Max makes sure you feel right at home. Highly recommend stopping by!

Excellent pub made better by friendly and warm staff. There is a young chap by the name of Max who goes out of his way to ensure you have an enjoyable experience. Bravo Max.

Vine aquí hace unas semanas con unos amigos, tuvimos una gran noche, el lugar estaba bastante ocupado. Pero el servicio al cliente de Max fue increíble. Él era muy amable y ayudó con todas nuestras preguntas sobre la zona y las cosas que hacer mientras visitamos.

This is a lovely pub to go to in Llandudno! Staff lovely and friendly and were quick to order your food! Good pint of local ale and food was very good too!! We had the mixed grill which was delicious and very reasonably priced for what you got!! Will be going back when next on holiday there!

Great food, friendly staff and great service. Beef & chicken burgers were amazing. Dog friendly which is always a bonus.

Absolutely shocking service! There was a queue from the bar to the door and three staff just wandered around aimlessly while one young lady served..... extremely slowly! One of the useless lads in black in a shirt decided he'd rather mess about with the sky remote than serve customers! Their company policy is to avoid eye contact at all costs and do bugger all! I'm still sat here finishing my drink, the queue is still out of the door and the staff are oblivious!

Didn't have any food just went for a drink, but a good atmosphere with good music. A bit loud for some but I enjoyed it and the Strongbow was lovely and cold.

It was OK but having 2 hairs in my food was very off putting, complained but got nothing back (won't be returning)

Have been going to the carlton for almost 40 years. Always loved it. However, noticed last time we went that prices seemed to have gone up.....a lot. Yesterday. I asked the pleasant young server why they had gone up so much and out of nowhere.....I THINK it was a female....jumped up and scowled aggressively at me and said "if you think we are expensive, try drinking up there". So we did. We went to the LC. A much nicer and cleaner pub and exact same round was cheaper. Carlton £11.40 LC £10.70. Spoons £6.97 The lilly.....nicest outlook of all. £9.90 So there! I know you don't care. But we won't be back.

Didn't have food... Called in for a drink but stayed for few...while visiting Llandudno for the first time... A great atmosphere with locals and visitors mingling and getting involved with dancing and karaoke...

Atmosphere really good, music on events most nights whether it be bingo or kareoke and drink prices very similar to most stonegate establishments. We were about to order food at the bar with the 1 member of staff behind the bar, before she said oh yeah that reminds me... food, bare with me....then walked to the back of the bar through a door (with no door, so i could see) flicked the service shelf light on where there was what turned out to be 4 plates of food sat there waiting to be sent out to a table, to which she then took them out. They looked tasty, but identified what was the 2 for £14.99 meals immediately as they were half the size of what I guess were the full price mains. I walked back to the table and said to my partner about it and decided to leave the food. The service is slow as one member serving and food didn't look to be bad but due to the skeleton staff will be cold by the time you get it. Bur good for a drink and atmosphere but not so for service and food maybe.

We arrived on Friday visited few pubs ,but this one was so friendly ,lovely amotsphere,good kept pint , immaculate staff cleaning tables all the time immaculate toilets lovely staff we were there four days in acrow ,would highly recommend a visit also prices werecgreat ,good food will be going back soon

Normally, I'd be minded to give this pub a one star rating, and yet..... Downsides: the place is grubby (glasses from previous users left on tables, had to ask for table to be cleaned, though this was done cheerfully but basically - I had to wipe it dry with a napkin); the bar had run out of beer (well, any ale on tap - apparently it would be back on in the evening once the pipes had been cleaned) and what I did order was served in short measure; the background music was a bit loud, which made it a bit difficult for a teenager with hearing problems hear conversation properly) - good play list though!; I ordered a steak and when asked if I wanted a sauce with it, I requested just English mustard and was told "No, we don't serve any mustard here" - what?!; we arrived late afternoon and ordered food, so few people (if any) others were eating, but it took a while for the food to be served. BUT when the food arrived it was hot, looked OK and tasted good - my steak was tender and cooked well. Frozen peas/chips, but OK. The other dishes tasty too. The range of food is good, with a refreshing choice of vegetarian options - unlike alot of places there IS a 'choice' rather than 'that's the veggie dish'. The price is reasonable too: under £50 for 3 people, including drinks - cheaper than for fish & chips we had in a f&c shop a few days earlier. The staff were pleasant and as helpful as they could, but I only saw two on duty (+ a chef, I assume). So, read the above, know what's in store: you pays your money and you takes your choice!

Bar staff were very friendly and helpful, made us feel very welcome. Drinks prices were reasonable and a good selection. Breakfast wasn't good, sausages were awful quality, full breakfast stated it came with mushrooms, there was one tiny mushroom on each breakfast, didn't enjoy the food unfortunately.

What can I say, fantastic pub, for me? What a pub should be a great food, a good selection of alcoholic drinks and soft drinks, a great atmosphere, and always busy, friendly staff what more can you ask for.

Went for food and a beer but food stopped at 19:00 and all the menus were collected at 18:45. Looked a nice place, clean and good atmosphere but shame about the food.

A weekend visit to Llandudno for me and visited The Carlton several times. Lovely old building, lovely staff who always gave us a warm welcome and good quality, well kept beers. The Carlton generates its own atmosphere with a nice cross-section of people ranging from locals, visitors from a twenty mile radius away and visitors from far and wide. Everyone was friendly and yeh I really enjoyed my time in The Carlton.

Called in for a drink and something to eat, the staff where helpful and friendly too, the drink prices were ok but we ordered a couple of chicken subs, they were smothered in mayo and the bread sub was quite hard too, to be fair, the food other people ordered seemed to look good so perhaps we were unlucky that day.
