What happening got hardly any food means got to eat at spoons now love coming here for food ☹️☹️☹️

What can I say, fantastic pub, for me? What a pub should be a great food, a good selection of alcoholic drinks and soft drinks, a great atmosphere, and always busy, friendly staff what more can you ask for.

Was going to eat in here but got robbed on our drinks and there was flies in there won't be going in there again

Really enjoyed our evening here. Didn't try the food but the atmosphere was great, very friendly and a lively karaoke session

Went for food and a beer but food stopped at 19:00 and all the menus were collected at 18:45. Looked a nice place, clean and good atmosphere but shame about the food.

A weekend visit to Llandudno for me and visited The Carlton several times. Lovely old building, lovely staff who always gave us a warm welcome and good quality, well kept beers. The Carlton generates its own atmosphere with a nice cross-section of people ranging from locals, visitors from a twenty mile radius away and visitors from far and wide. Everyone was friendly and yeh I really enjoyed my time in The Carlton.

Called in for a drink and something to eat, the staff where helpful and friendly too, the drink prices were ok but we ordered a couple of chicken subs, they were smothered in mayo and the bread sub was quite hard too, to be fair, the food other people ordered seemed to look good so perhaps we were unlucky that day.

Booked a table for Womans day through the website offer as we were looking at a couple of places to eat. Chose this one because of the special offer. Don't bother going there as they lie just to get you in. There is no free fizz by the glass when you arrive. The staff know nothing abt the offer and say they can't give you a glass as they only sell it by the bottle. False advertisement. Won't be going back there again. Bar staff were unable to get hold of manager. Food was rubbish aswell. Chewy bbq chicken melt .

Descent sized room with TVs on the wall. Didn't see any real ales available so had myself a Guinness which was good. Descently decorated and the staff were friendly and helpful. Situated on the corner of a junction so lots of windows. Good visit.

Alright place. It's what you would expect.

We were uncertain whether to try this pub. The windows were really dirty so not very inviting but we decided to pop in and have a drink. We're glad we did. We found a good traditional pub with a friendly atmosphere.

We turned up to order food we had to wait at the bar because the staff were talking to each other behind the bar we were then told the kitchen closed at 7 pm but on the web site it said food being seved till 8 pm absolutley disgusting staff were not very friendly to busy yapping to each other wont be going to the carlton again

The pub was decorated with Christmas festivities. We felt quite relaxed in the pub after walking long from the pier. The staff served us politely and delivered us the food quickly just after we placed order at the counter.

A great locally owned place to eat for breakfast, brunch and lunch. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the food is delicious and very filling. Tea was £2.50 for a cup of tea which was a bit expensive but the food is very well priced.

Food, what can I say, we had breakfast eggs not cooked fully, and sausage was awful well over cooked cold beans cold bacon cold. The pub was freezing, so your hot cup of tea was cold in no time. Will not go in there again

My friend and myself went for a few drinks we had to sit with our coats on along with everyone else who were sat with coats and hats on it was freezing, there was a stupid little heater that was miles away from us , so we brought it a bit closer only to have it moved away so we moved it back only to have it moved again only this time the surly barmaid unplugged it and shoved it away, I asked Olie why no heating he said they were waiting for a heating engineer why are you making your staff lie ..this was the exact same excuse given last winter ..get it sorted no heating no hot water to wash your hands and a pathetic fan heater that was a total waste of time even when the surly barmaid allowed it on . We left and went to the Snowdon when we walked in we were hit by a wall of heat what a joy.

Clean pub, friendly staff. Good range of drinks available, and an ample food menu.

Came in with the other half yesterday and had a few drinks and decided to have some food, only to be made aware the kitchen closed at 6, you may want to update your kitchen opening times so people don't waste their time we ended up in the ormo lounge across the road fab place

I would highly recommend The Carlton to anyone who visits the area. The staff and service were simply excellent and the whole establishment is well looked after and clean.

This pub is definitely worth a visit for some food and drinks. The staff are really friendly and helpful. The food prices are fairly reasonable. You can add a drink to your meal for a pound or two. The food has plenty of flavour and good portions.

I’ve been bullied into leaving a review by the barmaid Barbera. To be fair the food and staff were excellent. Especially Chantelle, Jake and Ollie. Burgers were very good and exceptionally well priced.

Great pub with friendly staff .

We went for tea here. It was midweek so it was quiet. A traditional looking pub which does meals. The man behind the bar was friendly and gave us a warm welcome. We chose from the small plates selection of which there was plenty of choice ie: Chicken wings, Scampi, Meatballs, Onion rings, Garlic Bread, Chicken Goujons, Onion Bajhi, Chips, to name a few. We had a wait of about 45 mins but we weren't in a rush, and it was well worth the wait. There were 13 plates between us and with 2 drinks the bill came to a reasonable £44. Definitely worth a visit.

All I can say is for a basic lunchtime meal it was served hot after a bit of a wait - no bad thing that - and the fare was of a more than acceptable standard for basic lunchtime meal. It was a shame they didn't do a roast of a Sunday, but then you probably wouldn't get a table! Missed a trick there, methinks. I would say the prices are very reasonable indeed for a meal and for drinks that are certainly upmarket of the Spoons pub, the Palladium, two shakes of a lamb's tail away in the same vicinity as the Travelodge where we were staying in a suite.

Called in here for a drink .atmosphere OK 👌 and staff OK 👌 didn't have food so can't really comment .

We visited a number of times (2 couples) and despite some of the negative reviews, we all really rated the The Carlton for food, drinks, service and atmosphere. The menu has a really nice range of pub food and everything we had was superb. We all commented how piping hot every meal was and it stayed hot too. We can highly recommend the katsu chicken burger, small sharing plates (we tried most of them - particularly liked the onion rings), breakfast, breakfast burger, scampi and the mac n cheese topped sharer fries. The interior upholstery and decor looked like it had been refreshed recently and really nicely done. The exterior may put some people off as it still retains its original pub windows and frosting - to me it just added to its historic charm. The service we received from everyone was great, particularly Paul and Olly who we had a good laugh with but were also both very hard working. We noticed Olly clearing and cleaning tables before he'd even taken his coat off and started his shift - that's commitment! Both had excellent customer service and interactions. The only negative we all noted (hence the 4*) was that the toilets weren't the best. They could all do with a really good top to bottom clean and the men's toilet was apparently "disgusting" on one of the days we were there. If that can be sorted and kept up to regularly then I'd be happy to move it to a 5* when we return as we'll definitely be back.

Welcoming pub value food served freindly staff

Called here during the early evening for drinks on a couple of occasions. The staff were friendly and the drinks certainly very cheap (happy hour ?). One evening we decided to stay and eat as the weather was bad, but that was a mistake. From the depleted menu, we ended up with Pie, veg and chips. Never again !! It must have spent most of the day in the microwave. The veg was bone dry and like rubber, the chips and pie crust like concrete (my other half just lifted the lid and scooped out the filling). We left it at that and ate elsewhere the rest of the week.

Out with family, whilst in the process of getting served my daughter was asked for I.D? She was drinking pop & is also 22 years of age as she didn't have any I.D on her we were refused service. When I asked the bar person why she couldn't serve non-alcoholic beverages to someone of legal drinking age she just said it was the company policy. Let's just say it didn't go down too well and we left.

Bingo isn't my cup of tea but there was a good atmosphere and some very serious concentration! 👍😃

Good location, really works for this standard pub, which attracts a varied selection of customers. We sat outside, a good spot to watch the world go by. Unfortunately if you do sit outside they serve your drink in plastic glasses, My pint was flat and lifeless. I wasn't the only one to remark on how poor the beer was in these glasses. I do understand why they do this but I won't be sitting outside again, the guy on the next table left half his drink. Nice staff, good selection of drinks though.

On holiday and first time we went in there food and service was great went in there again this evening and both was even better shame we go home in a couple of days would have been in more lovely place

Friendly welcoming staff, great atmosphere. Excellent service. Ordered food which I was apprehensive about due to allergies and intolerances......I needn't have been worried Max was very helpful and talked through the menu with me, taking time to check ingredients and phone through to the kitchen, he was a star. The food was delicious. Will definitely recommend and visit again.

Not a very nice pub, wont be returning. Having to drink out of plastic glasses whilst sitting outside was a no no for us. You may as well go to a nice pub in the area which as a nice garden or sitting facilities outside...

Makes Wetherspoons look sophisticated: a meeting point for the dregs of society. I doubt their clientele will be reading TripAdvisor… come to think of it, I doubt their clientele can read.

The cheeky chatty Chantell was the host with the most and served our crowd with a smile and air of magic you would have thought she had been to Drama School such was her flair and dedication to her customers.

As a visitor to llandudno every year on our holly bobs, we thought we would try The Carlton, WOW! After the recent refurb, it was brilliant. My mixed grill was bloody lovely. Served by a lovely woman named chantelle. We will be back again.

Had lunch in The Carlton and the burger was delicious. 2 4 1 on cocktails was great value. Particularly enjoy the bingo nights. Will always return.

We visited the Carlton after their refurbishment, and what a difference, we liked it before, but now, it’s even better, so much more at home every thing is so much cleaner and more comfortable, a great improvement. Will definitely come back
