We had booked 3 nights stay here but were a day late arriving as our ferry was cancelled, owing to fog. A 7 unit site with 2 showers with a toilet in the same room [En-suite]. One of the rooms was, imo, suitable for disabled guests. The facilities were clean with no extra charge for the showers. As the area was "remote" from the main site - hundred yards away and out of sight of the main site - access through the gate, into the shower/toilet block and chemical disposal point was by padlock code or Door Key Code. It worked and probably necessary as adjacent to the main road but slightly annoying. Good water supply and Grey water runoff easily accessed. The most expensive site we used in our holiday through the Outer Hebrides but West Harris Trust is a Community Charity so any profits presumably channelled back into Community Projects

Lovely friendly pub with great bar staff and a cosy fire - also really well decorated for Halloween. Well worth a visit, we will be back!

I read all the negative reviews and wonder if i was at a different place. I had time to kill as OH was at hospital for a scan, so had discovered the park as a place to walk the dogs. Which was lovely. Went to the bistro, had the pancakes, blueberries and greek yoghurt - very nice, tasty enjoyed it with a decent coffee. Went back today and it was closed, previous time it was jumping with people walking their dogs taking in the sun and the outdoor area was pretty full and folks inside as well. I do hope it will reopen?

Was there with the family for the weekend. When we checked in the lady behind the desk ( the owner) I later found out was very rude and so unwelcoming. We seen her on various occasions over the weekend but she wasn’t very keen to even say hello . The young guy in the bar was very good and pleasant. He even knew what we all drank without asking. A great wee guy and excellent at his job Also a mention to the older gentleman who served us our breakfast each morning. He was top class and very polite and very welcoming to us all . The owner I’m afraid should maybe spend a day with her staff and they could show her how to treat people who are paying good money to stay at her hotel. The hotel was clean and warm with nice comfortable rooms. But I’m afraid we wont be returning. As we believe it doesn’t cost anything to be polite.

During our stay at Inveralochy we ventured into Fraserburgh for some food and found Maitlands restaurant, which is also part of a lovely furniture store. I have managed organisations and worked with the public for 30 years and spot great customer service within a split second. The ladies who served us from the waitress, cooks, to the person on the till, were warm, friendly, and really made our visit a great experience. We had lunch the first day and breakfast the second visit, and on both occasions the food was tasty and good value. It's not easy to provide a good service in such a busy environment, while making people feel welcome, but those ladies who work there done just that. I listened to how they interacted with people of all ages, how they made an old person sitting on their own feel so welcome, and watched how they stayed busy at all times rushing about keeping people happy and tables clean, not forgetting to ask if we were ok and fancied pudding! We'll be back for certain and won't bother looking around for anywhere else, we'll just head straight to Maitlands for our food. Next time we'll spend longer exploring the furniture store too as it looks as though there's some decent items there. Thanks everyone for treating customers so well, you're a credit to yourselves and the owners. Paul O' Connor MBE Burgess of the Royal Burgh of Aberdeen.

Had been keen to visit the inn for some time Booked into Restuarant on a Wednesday evening. Very quiet However the dishes were very tasty and made great use of local produce Prices we felt were expensive and the cost of side dishes a bit of a rip off Very attentive service

I arrived at the coffee place, haven't been there before. When we walked in the door, a parade of parents were leaving with buggies etc, as I was coming in carrying my 11 month old and my 4 year old walked ahead - as they do - I called to him as he charged ahead and said 'we have to go order lunch, and pay first' he followed me into the cafe where I ordered his kids lunchbox meal, and a coffee and cake for myself (which came to £13.95, I assumed that included the sandpit - which is £4) I advised, I was going to the sandpit but i was a little early, the staff replied it was open as they'd just been down and cleaned after the last session so if I went down, they'd bring my order down. Wasn't even down there 5 minutes, and a very rude girl came yelling at the door, (I was standing in the sandpit, there was 2 other families In as well may I add) 'you've not paid to be in here!' I was absolutely mortified! I replied, I had paid, as just returned from the cafe. She charged away and came back again 5 mins later, 'you've not paid so you'll need to come and pay it!'. Again, she shouted from the door instead of coming over to me. I was mortified! I tried getting my 4 year old to come, and my baby was in the high chair. I lovely woman offered to keep an eye for a couple minutes whilst I ran up. Something I never do, but my anxiety was so bad and I could have died was embarrassment so i rushed away! So basically, you have to pay for the sandpit on the right-hand side when you enter, there is a sign, which I missed when coming in because it was so busy at the door. A misunderstanding! When I arrived to pay at the desk, (i was flapping having had left my kids with strangers, and obv course still mortified by the lack of manners and discretion from this girl), I said I'm here to pay for my child in the sandpit, and the same girl said 'eh is it not 2 children? I replied, 'Well yes it was but it stated online under 1 are free' as I had already asked when I booked. Again, lack of manners and a very bad tone. 👎 after paying for them, I went back to the sandpit and when I went to eat my pavlova, i was filled with deeper disappointment! It was awful 😖 strawberries were not fresh, were soggy, and had dirt on them, which completely put me off eating it (clearly they werent washed) and my coffee had gone cold. I obv didn't bother leaving to go back and Complain after the reception I'd already had so I left it. A very Overpriced unpleasant experience for an hour and a half. I will not be back! And it put me right off booking their pumpkin event which I was going to do that day after seeing it online.
