Had the afternoon tea for the first time in Caulders and we were very impressed. You choose your own sandwiches and then you have two tiers of meringues, scones (with cream and jam) and mini cakes. Unlimited tea and coffee is included too. We did book although there is no need to specifically, as it is served daily between 2pm and 5pm. Nice touch with the special china cups and plates too. Very frendly service

Scone was ok but poached egg and toast was really cold. Informed the waiting staff when they asked as I left most of the egg. She said oh ok will pass this on. No feedback/reduction. Inedible. Disappointing.

Not a good experience. Staff were OK, not great as we had to chase drinks, but the food was very disappointing. I had burger with fries & salad. Fries were overcooked, the way they are when left in the friar for too long, bread was dry and over toasted, cheese was WAY too much and greasy, onion rings were soft & chewy, and the burger itself, cremated and dry would be an understatement! My wife's mum had fish & chips. Chips were as above and the fish felt as though it had not been properly drained so was again greasy. My wife's jacket potato was reasonable.

Visited for an afternoon tea for 2 after being given a voucher as a present. Arrived and given a table right away. Chose a round of sandwiches each and the cakes and scones which came out shortly after ordering the drinks. The staff were friendly and efficient. Kew their stuff. The food was top class. The restaurant gets busy around lunch but plenty of staff to keep it running smooth and prices are quite reasonable.

I went with a group from my Womens' Guild for afternoon tea. We had been there last year and it was very good. There were 20 of us and the service was a bit strange. We all had china cups which were taken to the end of the table and filled with tea from a pot and if coffee was wanted, the cup was taken away to be filled. There was no food on the table at this point so our tea/coffee got cold while we waited on food to arrive. A cake stand arrived eventually but no sandwiches which we had to wait for again. It was difficult to get a second cup. One of my cups of tea was poured from a pot but topped up with hot water. It was very strange and we've never had this sort of service befor. I can only assume something had gone wrong in the kitchen.

Regular customers to this establishment . Service, today Sunday 4-2-24 was not of the usual standard. We waited 20 minutes for tea, a meal accompaniment, having ordered it as such with the food, after being served lunch. Eventually served with poor grace by a staff member who failed to apologise but mentioned how busy they were ! Disappointing I expected far better.

Food was up to the usual good standard at a Caulders restaurant. The only drawback was parking which was an absolute nightmare. I have a Blue badge and there were too few spaces. An overflow carpark was signed but we’ve yet to find it. I shudder to imagine what it’s like at a weekend. Such a pity, I don’t think we’ll be back.

Went here for lunch today, first visit and very pleasantly surprised, don't normally go to garden centres. Sat in conservatory which is very nice. The girls that served us were both lovely. Very nice atmosphere. Food excellent, sandwiches well packed with filling. Saturday afternoon so was packed but service was still surprisingly quick. Will go again.

Our normal restaurant was closed and we thought we would try out the Caulders Restaurant. The all day breakfast was disgraceful. One piece of cold bacon, a fried egg that had obviously been sitting for ages and a square slice sausage that was off. When asked about the breakfast by a young girl I complained about the sausage and said I wouldn't be back. She came back and said that next time I could change the sausage for something else. This will not happen. I think the chef needs retraining on food hygiene or maybe they should consider a replacement as the food was not up to any standard a competent chef would serve. Seriously consider this establishment if you value your health.

I love all the caulders restaurants but the Erskine one is closest and the one I frequent most. The food has always been fabulous on all my visits and staff are friendly. The only niggle I have is from our most recent visit. I’d asked for a baked potato with cheese and tuna, and the server looked at me like I had 3 heads and was very confused. I was obviously willing to pay any extra costs but just felt a bit embarrassed at her response. Maybe a new member of staff and unsure but other than that, always great. 😊

We were doing a road trip around Scotland and popped into Caulders Erskine. The garden centre was absolutely immaculate and really cosy. Lovely festive feel and a really cute area to have a Xmas selfie. We had fish and chips for lunch followed by a caramel apple pie. The food was amazing and the portions were generous too. The restaurant was newly refurbed and looked beautiful. The staff in store were really lovely in particular Kevin, Lisa and Gosia. Highly recommend paying this place a visit.

Ordered breakfast with my husband- staff were friendly and quick- food came quickly however there was a long black hair in his roll and sausage. Spoke to a member of staff who said sorry but these things happen - NOT the response we expected!!! The roll was taken off the bill but we will definitely not eat there again . Really disappointing when we’ve never had any issues at the Newton Mearns site.

Scene setter - had a "posh" lunch in Edinburgh last week - disinterested, rushed and not 100% impressive staff. Popped in to Caulders on a whim - very, very impressed. It was very busy but you just couldn't tell! There was an air of calm that was all-pervading! The (mostly very young) staff simply breezed around being quietly and cheerfully efficient; drinks order - quick, food - quick, bill - quick. Food was excellent - I may actually be the world's foremost expert on Macaroni Cheese - this was genuinely excellent - with added mushrooms! Mrs K had the brie and cranberry Panini - also excellent. I usually hate/ignore a side salad - this was simple, fresh and drizzled and i ate it!"!!! This is obviously a very well run operation, but still very, very friendly! I don't know how they do it!

Disappointing. Ordered 2 paninis, tasteless...One was a chicken club without bacon. Could just about find the couple of bits on onion and tomato and certainly didn't get the taste of any cheeses coming through. Thick piece of chicken , which I don't know how many times I added salt for taste. Basic presentation without the taste. Please visit Rosebank Garden Centre to see how they serve tasty food. Just wished a quick bite and at £22 would not suggest to friends, family and will unfortunately be back. Service was food, but food let it down.

Our toasties were warm and disappointing and tasteless.our complaint to the waitress was .”yeah I lot of people have complained about cold meals.” This really was unacceptable but did not take the complaint further as there was a large group of dinners in annexe /conservatory and the staff were busy with them. A very large comfortable restaurant attached to the garden centre with super views. Service was quick and efficient but fairly corporate not local and super friendly. Seemed to be a lot of staff behind the counter with an average age of 18. My wife’s food was nice and very warm. My Americano was warm but a little lacking in real bean taste. My bacon was a little cold. My beans in the ramican was almost with no heat as if they’d been sitting awaiting the rest of the food. Square sausage was nice but a little skinny. Rolls were over doughy and would have nice to have been offered crispy rolls. I didn’t complain because it was all edible and we were starving having just flew in from Spain. All in all I’d go back but order different food.

I have been here before with no problems however this occasion was terrible . I took my elderly mother for lunch . As soon as we arrived the waitress told us the scampi and haddock were not on the menu as the fryer had packed in . The haddock and scampi was our first choice but fair enough if the fryer was out of commission , try something else . We looked at the menu and chose chicken soup folowed by mince and tatties . Another waitress told us the chicken soup had been changed to cream of cauliflower but that was off and was now cream of mushroom soup, also they had ran out of mince so that was off as well . We settled for mushroom soup followed by a haggis panini for me and a toasted sandwich for my mum . we also asked for two teas . The soup arrived and was just edible , although I had to ask for spoons . The panini was tasteless and my mum's toastie when it eventually arrived was the same . Again I had to ask for cutlery but the service was so slow I had to take cutlery from an adjoining table. A pot of tea for me eventually arrived with a small jug of milk , luckily I don't take milk as I had to ask a waitress for my mum's pot of tea , it arrived with no milk so she had mine . The service that day was terrible , I don't know if something was going on as four or five of the staff were in a huddle in a corner with another person obviously having a debate . I was going to say something at the time but my mum felt sick and went to the toilet , luckily I had bumped into a friend and his wife who helped me with her as she had been sick . The staff in the shop area I cannot fault as they helped out and assured her it was no problem but the cafe was abysmal . I seriously don't think I would ever return to the cafe .

The food looked very nice as it kept appearing from the kitchen on its way to the tables - my choice was not the best, I had Cullen Skink soup. It’s a favourite of mine and I appreciate soup never tastes the same as we all have our own recipes. This was pretty bad though, only nod to Cullen Skink was the tiny piece of potato and smoked haddock. The base was thin and greasy - stock cube? Surely not but if there was any milk or cream in it, well it was no more than a teaspoonful. Sorry to be so negative, but a search on Google will give an authentic recipe for Cullen Skink.

My wife and I had been given vouchers for afternoon tea so we phoned in the morning and made a reservation for the two of us in the Conservatory that afternoon. When we arrived at the arranged time we were told that our names “were not in the book”, but we were found space in the 2/3rds full Conservatory. On checking my phone I found that they did have WiFi but on requesting the password I was abruptly told that it was not given out to the public. We were handed menus describing the available sandwiches and we wrongly assumed that we could have a selection. Wrong - one sandwich each! To drink I chose a coffee, and my wife being unable to drink coffee or tea chose a plain hot chocolate. The egg sandwich and tuna sandwich were very good as were the accompanying scones, meringues and cakes. One female staff member was pleasant, the others were rather offhand. We had made them aware that we would settle up with the gift vouchers, displayed on the table, but when we made to leave we were advised that the hot chocolate was 50p extra. We thought this extremely petty so we reacted in kind and reduced the gratuity by 50p. So there!

Regular coffee break favourite. Great coffee and cake. Breakfast can be served cold at times so more consistency would be great.

We have often come to this venue when visiting family nearby and have always enjoyed the experience. The staff were really nice and accommodated us with a table whereby we could sit with a prim and not be crowded. Excellent service as anticipated. Only needed coffees and pastries on this occasion but have had lunches before incl Cullen Skink etc.

Popped in for lunch and forgot it was Mothers Day - very busy but staff managed to get us a table if we were no longer than an hour. Great choice on the menu, and we both had the salmon open sandwich. Plenty of salmon and lovely brown bread. Was very filling, but couldn't resist the homemade cakes - coffee & walnut, and citrus sponge - fantastic. Had cake with coffee and perfect end to lunch. Very efficient staff and service and we were finished within the hour. A bit expensive for what it is but would return.

Stopped here for a coffee and a wander on route to an overnight stay. The garden centre is lovely good choice of plants. It also sells other things also.Well the restaurant was another thing. Waited on a table about 5 minutes despite being plenty empty, but the person was taking the money and not getting anyone to show people to tables. We ordered the special of coffee and 2 pancakes for £3.The pancakes came, what a disappointment, small thin dry pancakes. Not the lovely large ones in other restaurants. No coffee came and we waited and waited. 10 minutes later we had to ask where the coffees were. Then wait again until they came.Very disappointing. Special of soup, sandwich and tea or coffee for £5.99 looked a good deal. We did notice that the service was very slow overall. Tables were cleared quickly, toilets clean.Avoid if you are in a hurry.

This is a great place to stop if you are heading over the Erskine Bridge and need a journey break. The food is superb and the staff excellent. Great soup and sandwich deal if you just need a snack. They also have a lovely shop full of great and varied things for home and garden and some clothing. Great childrens book selection and babies utems. Garden plants are top quality too.

Had afternoon tea which was very reasonably priced. Two rounds sandwiches and cakes and mini scones with cream and jam. Only disappointment was that my friend cannot eat bread so asked fr a wrap instead ,which they sell, but was told it could not be replaced. Still a nice tea and beautiful garden centre with xmas decorations.

Good value for money, large portions and the food was well cooked at this extremelly busy venue. I had the fish and chips and my wife had the cinnamon, apple and stornaway black pudding salad. Both were excellent altough my wife's salad was a bit dry and needed some salad dressing on it. I expect that this was an oversight in the kitchen. However, we were impressed and will go back again.

Second visit in the past two weeks. Food is good value for money and quite a choice on the menu. We had panninis which were good---- when they arrived.!!!! For some reason our order was mislaid as plenty of other people who arrived after us were well, through their food before we even got ours!! Very pleasant staff.

We had a breakfast family reunion here this weekend. This is a spacious place with plenty of room for elderly people. The staff are friendly and efficient when you finally find the location of the place! (not very easy). It was crowded but still plenty tables. There is a large menu and the quality is excellent. I noted they seem to have daily sponge...didn't go for it but it sure looked good. As we were leaving I couldn't help but notice some seriously big baked potatoes! Highly recommend but plan your route or you end up on the Erskine Bridge!

We were looking for somewhere to have lunch when we came across this place. There was no tables inside so we sat outside. Was a bit cold.Plenty choices and variety on the menu though bit pricey. Service was a bit slow possibly due to place being busy. We had hot drinks and toasties. Food was fine.

We just popped in for a drink before going to a gig round the corner. It has a nice feel to it inside like a wine bar. Modern decor. It was quite busy but still managed to get a seat. They have a function room upstairs that was heaving with people. They had a good DJ mixing tracks together. I could easily have settled in for the night. However, they do need to decorate the toilets to the same standard as the rest of the place. A few people were having food. It looked good but we didn't try.

Went for some food today after not being to the lynnhust in quite sometime. Checked out the menu online seemed good. When we arrived the menu had changed and was very disappointing as I didn't really like much on the menu and had I of known I would have went somewhere with better options. On a possitve not the waiter today Cameron was amazing and is a credit to the company.

Always good food, good drink, great atmosphere, and wonderful host and hostess. Susan, Tony and all the staff provide a welcoming place to gather in the village. They open their rooms for small business/social groups to meet. They are always ready to pitch in and help support local and national charities through onsite and offsite events. They are a valued gem in our community. My Wife is from Texas and she agrees, they welcome all with a big HOWDY!
