Just wanted to spend a good days in Johnstone and walked to Bridge of Weir whee I saw this restaurant. Popped in and stated thing what shall I try? Yes stoped at Soup — it may be because I was not hungry — and ordered one. Delicious soup came with toast and lovely staff. Tried it and felt - wow! It is nice, fresh and cheap which comes with smile.

Popped in for tea and cake on a wet and soggy midweek afternoon. Deceptively larger than expected inside, with eclectic seating options! A few others were inside, with a steady stream of customers entering during the course of our visit, so clearly a popular spot with the locals. Always a good sign! Served by a very pleasant young man who swiftly appeared with our order. Food was lovely ( delicious soup and bread) and the cakes were super tasty indeed! Lovely old building with a small car park at the rear. Toilets were up a small flight of stairs in the main part of the cafe ( about 6/7 steps) and they also have a baby changing facility/ ? toilet in the street level part of the building. Worth supporting with your custom as the food is really nice.

It’s a family run tea-room/cafe which provides good value home-made fare. Have been many times and never once had reason to complain. Limited selection for lunch but always tasty, fresh and enough to make us go back (4 or 5 main courses plus a variety of toastier/sandwiches). Plus scones, cakes etc. No alcohol. Very welcoming for all ages. Always busy and buzzy. No music!!

Parked outside of here with friends so went for coffee & cake; initial space is large with numerous different chairs & settees but wonderfully light but unfortunately that area wasn’t being used. The area which was being used was smaller with tables & chairs opposite the kitchen. We ordered beautiful homemade cake served very pleasantly by the husband of the wife who made the delicious cake. We ordered flat whites but we were served a smaller version than is normally served elsewhere…the decor where we sat & the toilet was a little tired & I think I would serve cakes & drinks in the lower part to be more comfortable but overall would visit again to try a snack or meal from the selection on the boards.

It seemed quiet so we decided to give it a go although many other choices exist in the town. We were ignored and had to ask for help and were placed in a busy area next to the toilets when many comfy sofa seats in quiet areas were free. We moved! It's an old Masonic Lodge and is spacious. Peeling paint and other signs of some minor neglect. The upper areas has tables and the lower area is more comfortable. Quality, serving and size and speed of serving was good. Staff seemed to be very friendly and chatted away with regulars. No outside seating. Prices were fine.

We turned up here looking for a bite on a public holiday when all else was closed. We were welcomed grandly and had a super snack, coffee and cake which was what we needed in the Christmas/New Year decompression. Marvellous, cafe style, products. Have been here on and off over the years and the staff actually need to smile and make me want to go back. All food is excellent, but worth noting that the cheese souffles are legendary; wonderful home baking too.On our many visits, we have, without exception, received a warm welcome, great service, and even when busy, staff have found space for us. My friend and I - who are both dairy intolerant - received very poor service from owner / staff who were unaware of allergens in their food and disinterested in serving us. I asked if the soup had dairy in it and the man serving checked and said it did. The lady came to take our order and I explained our dairy intolerance. She wasn't able to tell me if certain foods contained dairy and said she was very busy serving other people! There were 8 other people - 6 of whom came in after us! She sugggested that we have a think about what we wanted. I replied that we didn't know what we could have and she walked away. My friend and I decided to leave and eat elsewhere. As we were leaving I politely said to the man that we would need to eat elsewhere - and he ignored me! Since December 2014 it has been law to know which allergens are present in the foods sold or served.

Bridge of Weir is most fortunate to have the Lochnagar Cafe-the title cafe does not do it justice,-it is not just another cafe with the usual array of often bland offerings, but produces imaginative dishes, beautifully cooked and served in a relaxing and welcoming, but understated environment. The twice baked cheese souffle is legendary and to die for, and the home made cakes irresistible to one with a sweet tooth. This was a one off visit, but if I lived locally, it would be very tempting to be a regular visitor. Travelling around the country, one rarely makes a find such as this. One word of caution however,-don't be tempted to drive into the signposted car park unless you have a small car or have a navigator,-the park itself is roomy, but to exit may require even more manoeuvering skill than the sharply angled entrance.

Visited recently with my mum for lunch. We need wheelchair access and I phoned ahead to ensure this was available. We were only able to sit "downstairs" as the rest of the restraunt is not accessible by wheelchair. The food was nice-this isn't my first visit and th food is always good. However, we felt a little isolated and access to the disabled toilet was a nightmare! We had to manouver past other tables of customers who had to get out of their seats to let us past. To open the door and manouver the chair in necessitated a group sitting at a table outside vacating their chairs and moving the table. Then we found th chair couldn't get into the toilet for a baby changing table. So we had to reverse out (requiring everyone to move again) move the table out of the toilet and find somewhere to park it, then wheel back in. Of course, we had to reverse the process to get back out! When we were leaving the restraunt we struggled greatly trying to get through the door and I was disappointed no one came to our assistance. I can't blame to staff for the (lack of) help from the customers sitting nearby, but if we had been able to be in the line of sight of the staff, rather than isolated downstairs, I'm sure a staff member would have come to our aid. It's such a shame, as th food is always reliably good, but the lack of thought out into the disabled access means we will not return unless some changes are made to th layout.

I had tried all other coffee shops in Bridge of Weir so thought I would give this one a go. I entered the place and first impressions were ok, it was dated and in need of a make over however nothing too drastic just very old fashioned and lots of pine furniture ! I sat down and ordered a tea. The main gripe I had was with the service which I would class as extremely poor ! Not from the waiting staff but from the owner - A man in his late 60's with an English accent had a continual scoul on his face & a very "negative" attitude. My wife and baby used to frequent here however they and friends have stopped going. Being pleasant and offering good customer service is not a lot to ask for however this place unfortunately falls short.

Sitting on the main road in a village in Renfrewshire, this quaint old style tea shop would be easy to miss but seems to have a solid following of locals, walkers and cyclists. If you missed it, it would be your loss. limited outside tables but almost 30 covers in side on two levels, in very spacious setting. Eclectic furnishings but large windows make it light and airy. The tea room offers traditional home cakes which were light, moist and difficult to criticise. The gingerbread with orange icing is exceptional. The tea is good quality although served in very small cups comes with a more than adequate pot- limited hot menu as well which is on the expensive side but certainly looks fulsome and freshly made - will certainly be back and may even try the hot menu given the quality of the cake.

We then had absolutely delicious twice baked cheese soufflés, again served with bread to mop up all the cream & sauce, beware of this if you have a high cholesterol problem, it is rich!! I usually have a glass of wine with my lunch & my husband has fruit juice but they also have a great selection of coffees & speciality teas. If we have room we'll have a cake & coffee to finish. Everything is freshly made to order & is of the best quality beautifully presented & served. Lochnagar is family owned & run & has a lovely cosy seating area with a woodburner. You have a choice of settees & chairs with a coffee table or conventional dining tables & seating. They also have an enclosed play area for young children & daily papers & magazines to keep the adults happy. We thoroughly recommend a visit if you are in the area.

Had a good, well cooked lunch but although it took some time to be served that possibly shows it was cooked to order! There is an excellent selection of scones and cakes. Comfortable seating if you wish to sit and have a chat with friends

We just popped in for a drink before going to a gig round the corner. It has a nice feel to it inside like a wine bar. Modern decor. It was quite busy but still managed to get a seat. They have a function room upstairs that was heaving with people. They had a good DJ mixing tracks together. I could easily have settled in for the night. However, they do need to decorate the toilets to the same standard as the rest of the place. A few people were having food. It looked good but we didn't try.

Always good food, good drink, great atmosphere, and wonderful host and hostess. Susan, Tony and all the staff provide a welcoming place to gather in the village. They open their rooms for small business/social groups to meet. They are always ready to pitch in and help support local and national charities through onsite and offsite events. They are a valued gem in our community. My Wife is from Texas and she agrees, they welcome all with a big HOWDY!

Went for some food today after not being to the lynnhust in quite sometime. Checked out the menu online seemed good. When we arrived the menu had changed and was very disappointing as I didn't really like much on the menu and had I of known I would have went somewhere with better options. On a possitve not the waiter today Cameron was amazing and is a credit to the company.
