Linwood Farm in Renfrewshire

We didn't have a very good experience the first time we visited, however, that was a while ago and so we decided to give it another try. Food was horrible! I had to send my dish back because it was cold, I approached a member of staff, who was very helpful and got me another meal, but unfortunately it was horrid! 3 meals wasted. Definitely won't be back.

Got Xmas dinner here I'm no really a fan of the place it was alovely meal .staff rushed off their feet.as expected.

Had a lovely carvery, meat delicious and plenty of veg for myself, who had the veggie 😋 3 adults and 1 child who could play where we could sit n talk while watch him play . Only downside a lot of desserts 🍨 we chose had run out.

Food is getting worse stuffing was rock solid, why put out so much. Cranberry all over counter , meat dry, only come here because my grandaughters like the play area.

Brilliant no need to say no more

I found out that you could get a take away carvery so I used their app to order and collected it along with dessert and enjoyed my meal at home and it was delicious.

We ordered through the app, so knew our food order had been entered correctly. We had selected for starters to come out with mains, however these came out first and then we waited 40 minutes for mains to come out, which is quite long when the restaurant wasn’t overly busy. One meal came out wrong and another had to be returned as the chicken in the tikka masala was rock solid.

Went in with family for a carvery, staff were friendly and helpful, seating was nice. The only thing that let it down is the plate is out on scales and the meat is weighed before they put it in the plate. They advise also to fill your plate with potatoes and veg as you are not allowed a second visit. Beef was a little dry and I was let down by the fact I don't like turkey and ham but was offered no alternative for example an extra slice of beef, once you hit that beef weight limit that's you done regardless of if you have other meat or not. By this point we just didn't bother with deserts but had a look at the cake counter to find it's all cardboard display cakes so chances are they are frozen. The whole thing felt like an exercise in cost cutting hence why I subtracted stars.

And the lovely lady Donna who works in the cake department is very good and friendly. 😊 Update 2024 We enjoyed our day it was the special Christmas one, Turkey & tinsel, there was 11 of us in total. 3 carers and 8 elderly care home resident's, we all enjoyed our 2 course carvery and the bingo . Very good day, had by all. And a bonus I won a single line at the bingo

Went with family for a meal before going to the theatre in glasgow. We all enjoyed our meal especially the desserts.

Breakfast was shockingly bad. Hair in our food. Will not be back.

Booked here for breakfast with Santa.I made a bit of blunder and accidentally booked the farmhouse inn in Leicester and didn’t realise until we arrived. They were quick to help and get a table ready for us. Staff went above and beyond to accommodate us and made it a very pleasant experience

Food is okay, but it was cold. The meat and the sauces need improving, the vegetables wasn't cooked properly, and customer service, i would not go back.

Service was not the best and the noise and screams 🙄 were too much 😑 but I had a fairly good meal and company. With bad diluted soda drink fanta. Will not hurry back, sadly.

Popped in for some lunch this Saturday, portions are very generous didn't have space for a pudding so decided to take one home. Great service.

We found this Resturant by accident but wow I am so glad that we did! We were greeted by a lovely lady who was so friendly and inviting (I’m sorry but I didn’t catch your name). The food is great, reasonable prices and desserts to die for! This lady was also very helpful with some local guidance over trains and getting into Glasgow! We came to Breakfast with Santa 07/12 what an amazing event!! We have been to many of places before but Linwood Farm year after year are amazing, the amount of effort they put in from the way it is set up, music, the activities they do, the grotto and obv course meeting Santa. Outstanding as always Linwood farm !!!

Been to a few of these cheap carvery places, and this was by far the best one. Value for money is insane, at just £12.99 you can fill your plate as high as you like. The quality of the food does not reflect the price (in a good way). Great for a cheap and quick Sunday meal. Was in, seated and fed within 20 mins

Was in for breakfast this Friday morning. Buffet was lovely, great selection available (not sure if I like the Yorkshire). Was well looked after by the gent in the black shirt. Will definitely be my new regular for breakfast.

Great value for money food was good staff very helpful

Linwood farm used to be quite nice before it got a makeover, the food used to well presented and taste every bit as good but in recent years and only a few visits the food hasn't tasted the same as it used to. The carvery is one of their biggest selling points but again that hasn't been the best either. The meat you get is now weighed and the sides are quite bland and dried out the majority of the time. Tried a few other things on their menu and to be honest it isn't great and not always a first choice for a place to revisit. The staff are lovely and always do their best to help customers but that's about the only thing going good for the place at the moment, That and their deserts.

Had the carvery at the weekend, loved it, the gammon was amazing and there was such a variety of sides! Would recommend for families, it would be a great opportunity for your kids to try all kinds of veg

Always clean and staff were nicer this time, the milkshake machine was working for a change most of the tubs were empty and you were scraping the dregs at bottom of 50% of them . I would not come here without my grand kids as it so low standard of food, but they love play area and they eat there food. Won't have carvery again.

Came in for breakfast this morning, nice and hot selection of buffet, had to treat myself to a takeaway cake couldn't believe the size of the cakes.

It was cramped and busy, I had to ask f9r a gluten free menu which was better than I expected. The chicken wing starter and my main of a gluten free burger I got were great, though I never got any mushrooms as a side like was offered with it I would still come back again if need be

I ordered from just eat today I ordered a carvery and cake bundle, I got the carvery but not the cake, I went back outside to tell the just eat guy but he ignored me and went into his car and I’ve call Linwood farms but no answer, this is just not on 😡😤

Great for kids! My 2 year old daughter loves it and didn't want to leave. Great play area to keep kids amused whilst the adults can enjoy their food. The kids play area is in the far wing of the building, this means the rest of the restaurant is kid free, so every enjoys the visit. I had the carvery on my visit, the meat was great, but the veg selection was even better. A great choice of veg cooked exactly and the biggest bonus is that the food is hot and doesn't cool off by the time you return to your table.

Food 👌🏼 Hospitality 👌🏼 On the day myself and the family visited it was New Years day and it was a quieter experience but non the less we were served with a personal touch and a polite question of how is your meal? The plate was full as per usual, I was wondering to myself why my plate was on the scales while the chef sliced my cuts of meat, nevertheless it didn't detract from my dining experience. Plenty of potatoes in every style imaginable plus veg and chipolatas and a second Yorkie for a small fee. I didn't need an evening meal, that would just have been rude!

Great place for food. My waitress Reese was very welcoming and polite.

Chloe is the perfect choice as your greeter. So warm and friendly, nothing appeared to be a bother to her. She had us smiling from the moment we walked in. My only real complaint is the lack of choice for those with gluten and dairy intolerance, didn't leave my husband with much of a choice.

In for family lunch. From the second we walked in we knew it would be good down to the warm welcome we received from Chloe, bright smile, chatty and although it was busy she took the time to run us through everything didn't just rush us to our table. Food and atmosphere were good. If we're guaranteed that kind of welcome every time we come in we may have to increase our visits.

Average food and staff are very slow and quite unpleasant on both times we’ve visited. Was also turned away on an occasion where the place was literally empty and told us no table were available which was a bit baffling

Great place for families, indoor and outdoor play area available for kids. Really recommend, food was great especially for the price and really tasty desserts too, very friendly and welcoming staff I really appreciated how attentive they are. 10/10 service

Had the breakfast buffet and what a disappointment, food was solid and cold, coffee out the machine was cold.. despite the lackluster food the setving staff couldn't have been nicer and so helpful, just the chefs that need a wee refresher course

I got a delivery through just eat, food is appalling. Beef was 2 strips that you could break a window with, turkey was dry, the pigs in blankets that I paid extra for were solid and unedible. Parsnips burnt and the gravy had raw onions inside. Poor food for somewhere that I've eaten from more than a handful of times in the past. Wont be ordering or going again. 6th Sept 2024. Disgusting and they should be ashamed. Wish I could attach photos to this as I would. I have now emailed you. After being asked to email you in reply to my review I did so but received no reply. Very disappointing when I took more time out of life to do as you asked. 😕

The staff are clearly doing their best but the whole experience was pretty bad. We were sat at a table immediately adjacent to the kids play area with only a string net barrier between us and the ferral screamers seemingly left unattended. Each new scream inches away from our ears was jarring to say the least. After five minutes we asked to be moved to another table. Even though the were three unoccupied tables within sight of ours we were told we couldn't be moved. As we were there with my elderly father we decided not to go elsewhere and try to put up with the noise. The scampi was alright but that's only because the cooks have to open a packet of frozen scampi and put them in the deep fat frier. The chicken tikka was more like spicy soup than curry. The mac and cheese looked and tasted closer to cement and aggregate but it also had large lumps of something brown in among the undercooked pasta. The staff did their best to make good but as there were so few staff they didn't stand a chance on a busy Saturday afternoon. It's not fair to staff or customers to have so few people running a busy family restaurant.

Brilliant night. Food was amazing, plenty of it and friendly staff. Quick service and quiet atmosphere despite being busy. Comfortable and amazing value for money! We will be back.

Late breakfast and food was cold.

Got told to follow to our table that we had booked to then be told to hang about because they didn’t know where to seat us after requesting a table not next to the play area which was then told to sit NEXT TO THE PLAY ! the cranberry sauce was missing from the carvery and the turkey I got from the carvery was pink !! One of the children’s tomato pasta was tasteless and more of less dripping in water not tomato sauce! To top it off we tried to buy some cake upon leaving and stood there for 15 mins with various members of staff walking by us including a manager !!!!! Total ignorance to our requests and no customer care and pride in there food !

We had carvery turkey was too dry 😩 Roast beef was quite pink Roast potatoes you could have put someone's window through with they we absolutely stotten Not enough choice of veg No pictures on this review as nothing was worth taking pictures of sadly

Angela and Josie's the two wee cleaners scrubbed the place full time I was there, top to bottom. Lovely attitude towards there job and good very friendly when I spoke to them. Very helpful also. Credit to your company.

I came into linwood Farm for a psychic night. I had such a great time. Sally was so helpful, and lorna helped us sort drinks and showed us how to use coffee machine cant wait for the next one

Completely different experience this time around. I got a carvery, which I must say was disgusting. Roast potatoes and gravy being the worst part of it. I also ended up with something rather nasty in my yorkie. Overall disappointed with this visit.

Disappointing this time. Several things not available on menu. It was lunchtime and kids were off school and they decided to clean the ice cream machine. Food was ok steak overcooked

The food was nice but all big portions, not much option for small plates Would definitely go back Well we went back and would you believe there was not a single desert to be had on a Friday evening around 7pm Went to order on the app all sold out except basic ice creams

We had a voucher for carvery and cake and went along to Linwood, our nearest Farmhouse carvery. Staff were friendly and helpful and the carvery was delicious with lots of choice of vegetables. GF gravy was requested and delivered to our table. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

First time in the place. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food and service were very good. Nice background music.

Food was tasty however weighing the slices from the carvery made my mum quite uncomfortable and when she started to eat her meal the meat was so sparsely cut that it was see through, I had the carvery salad which states to have 537kcal I would disagree given the same issue as mum the meat was incredibly thin therefore calorific value would have been less. Service, staff and atmosphere lovely but the food portioning …….. Disappointed to say the least

First time trying this restaurant, very busy as usual on a Sunday as their carvery is outstanding. Great value for money, staff very helpful and friendly. Prices very reasonable, especially considering 4 adults, starters , bottle of wine , and soft drinks.

Came on Sunday so we knew it would be busy however they managed to get us a table and we had the best time. Most delicious carvery we've been to in a while. Not a fan of other carveries having gimmicky side options. We'll definitely be back to Linwood Farm

I have been going there for year. My cousin has a disability and went to use the disabled toilets they were in a disgusting state we told two members of staff but nothing was done about it, I overheard another customer complain but still nothing. Makes you think if they can't keep the toilets clean what state is the kitchen in

I don't know what the atmosphere is, food is ok but it's very poor customer service, people are disorganised and disinformed they don't know what they doing it can be awful experience... I can understand when it's extremely busy but not when it's very much empty... Instead of taking me to the bar area where I could pay for my takeaway pack I heard just go over there they will sort you out. I went to the deck and yes question do you have a ticket? I had to go back to the bar to pay, then I was asked which size takeaway portion I want standard or large. I said large. Got a ticket for stardard when I realized that and confirmed that my choice was different I heard that there is only one size. Ok it doesn't make any sense to ask me what size I would like. Staff need some additional training as they create unnecessary confusion and why walking off to the bar area instead of finishing dealing with customer as there was no one else that she was dealing with? It's just doesn't make any sense whatsoever. Lady went behind the bar anyway but expected someone else to deal with it? Seriously? Today 01/10 I did give it another go. I went inside and I decided I'm gonna sit in and have a meal I waited for somebody to show me where I can sit and I did inform that I want to get some food from the deck. It didn't make any sense to sit just by the entrance to go all the way to the deck, there was plenty of spaces closer which I did point out and the table has been changed. Then as I was sitting in I did expect to pay after I finish the meal but no, had to go back to the bar to pay for it in advance, okay again I wanted food from the deck and again I have been asked for the size: small standard or large? I said apparently there is only one size? No there are three different sizes 🤦 Then I was asked if I will have Yorkshire aswell to my surprise so I said ues but I would think that's included? Yes it is. So what's the point asking me if I want Yorkshire when it's not on the ticket anyway you will be asked the same question when you gonna pick your food later🤦I got the ticket for the large this time and I went to the deck to my surprise there was no chicken there was no Turkey and no one mentioned that earlier whatsoever which would saved me all the hustle if I would know from the start. Since I cannot eat any other meat I decided to cancel it and I went to the bar for the refund. I was told that it would be easier to change the price if I would pick some other food I politely inform them that I'm not interested. For the refund you need to wait up to five working days. If only people would think a little bit it would make customers life so much easier... One of the most unreasonable places to have a meal. I never ever came across anything like that in my life. I don't think I will be back.
