As they hate dogs I was unable to access their cafe. I would guarantee you that businesses lose more custom from being dog unfriendly than they do customers who are not dog owners. Three of us did not go in. Another dog in the car park man sitting having a coffee on his boot lid. Just don’t like businesses that hate dogs.

The cafe is well positioned for a stop travelling North or South from the Highlands. We popped in for lunch and the takeaway service was excellent. The sourdough baguettes were fresh and tasty and the coffee was super. The cakes looked fantastic and maybe on our next visit we will be tempted. Staff were extremely friendly and efficient. Plenty of seating indoors and outside. There’s also a lovely gift shop and well stocked garden centre. Just wished we lived closer so that we could make it our regular coffee and cake place. All set in lovely surroundings.

We stopped to look at the Garden Centre,in the rain, and thought the wee cafe looked nice. A good choice! Superb soup, tasty filled rolls and excellent coffee. Of course we were tempted by the baking, and enjoyed a vegan fruit slice (unusual choice for us!) as well as a takeaway traybake for later. Good service, and lovely cheery ambiance all made up for the weather!

We came here after there was no food on offer at Fyne Ales which is a short drive away. Food was lovely. Staff were friendly and took COVID mitigations seriously. Great spot for a coffee and cake or bite to eat if you are passing. Also a nice shop and garden centre. Not very many child friendly options on the menu which is not important to everyone but we are at that stage in life.

My family own a wee house in Connell, so we often make the trip from Glasgow to Oban, usually stopping at the tree shop for some lunch en route. The food is lovely and it’s always fun to have a nosey around their plant selection. I really wanted to leave a positive review but unfortunately my visit was dampened by a rather rude member of staff. A woman in around her 60’s with a short blonde bob and glasses greeted us in the queue for the cafe, her mannerisms and attitude was nothing short of passive aggressive. We placed her order as she stomped around the place as if everyone was in her way. Before we left I decided to grab a piece of cake to split with my mum who was traveling with me. I went to pay for my order, which a younger member of staff had kindly put through for me. Their card reader appeared to fail - numerous times - as I tried to used my card to pay. I took my card out and tried again a couple of times before the rude woman appeared again and crudely remarked to her colleague ‘maybe it’s her card’. Well… me and the very same card went the short journey to Inveraray and purchased a very delicious caramel shortcake - with no issues and no attitude. Its such a shame because I’ve been coming here for years, but I don’t come on holiday to deal with ‘Karen’s’.

We therefore had to stop again for lunch on our way south, the following week. Having asked about the soup of the day the staff immediately offered our son a small sample to try so he could decide if he liked it. He did and it was very good. After being turned away by the oyster bar, we found a reasonable seafood lunch in the garden centre. Where they were out of an item they provided a substitute at lower cost. The smoked salmon salad (£6) had two kinds of salmon with a variety of salad including coleslaw, baby leafs and balsamic dressing. My wife got a large amount of crayfish. I suspect most of the fish was supermarket mass catering stuff but it was good and cheap. If I got that wrong, I apologise and suggest they put up some signs saying local produce or loch Fyne salmon! Most noticeable was the cheerful and obliging attitude of the staff.

Visited today with a friend for afternoon lunch while attending Bike Fyne, ordered a coffee and a Tuna Ciabatta only to wait 10 minutes to be given a hard morning roll with tuna, ladened with margarine and no salad which was apparently meant to accompany the ciabatta, the disgruntled member of staff stated that they were out of ciabattas, no compensation and no offer of an alternative. I live some 10 miles from the Tree Shop and was quite excited about my first visit. Needless to say I won't be back. Poor customer service. For the money I would expect better. It appears that the Tree Shop builds it's business on tourism rather than repeat custom.

We poodles along to this venue on the 12th November and there was a local craft fair on, some excellent local artisans showing their very varied wares, we also toured the shop and bought a few local produces and gifts for family for Christmas, we sat and had two excellent Cappuccinos with cinnamon in the restaurant they have there and the food whilst we did not eat there was varied and tempting, the fair was both inside and outside (undercover) and whilst the rain was lashing down at this point it proved to be a very nice few hours spent in a glorious place.

Was expecting great quality fresh food . But very disappointed . Looking forward to local mussels but off the menu . Scallops were fresh but the sauce let it down and the bread was stale and expensive . Both in the end had fish and chips , that was two very small pieces of fish each , couldn't hardly see any fish , most likely frozen due to the texture and appearance . Staff were excellent and beer was good

The hotel is an experience. The food is wonderful the beds comfortable and the cosy. Great place to stay for visits to the island. Looking forward to a visit in the summer. PLEASE finish the residents lounge.

I am giving you an excellent review based on previous visits but arrived Thursday 14th November at 11:15 and it was closed. Website says open at 10:00 and opening time on door says 10:30. Several people left disappointed during my 20min seat on bench. Off to Port Bannatyne for my brunch. Can you update your opening hours on door and social media platforms.

What an absolute find. This place was amazing in every way. The staff are welcoming, friendly and so attentive. The food was out of this world. Would definitely recommend 100% and will be back. Just wish we had found it at the start of our holiday and not at the end

Met up with a friend for lunch today. ALWAYS reliably happy with our meals at The Esplanade over the many years.... But today's young chef was very astute with his skills. We had *Cullen skink, the baguette was fresh and warmed....so often it is not; (it's the little things like this that make you come back,), *fish n chips, and *incredibly chunky steak pie, with a lid rising up to the ceiling I'm my opinion all 3 meals really were the best examples on the island. Well done to: *The Esplanade for keeping up the standards of quality which bring people back * The Chef * The always friendly and helpful waitress 😁 (Love the new curtains and furnishings 😁)
