A great place with a superb view of Loch Lomond. The dishes are well-prepared and tasty at reasonable prices, considering the location. Friendly service.

Nice friendly staff, well presented food. The chicken cesar salad is huge! Good selection to choose from.

Have stayed here on several occasions and always a good experience. Only suggestion would be some soft background music in the lounge would be appreciated and some of the tables needed cleared. We had to move tables twice , once at dinner and also at breakfast as tables were very unstable. Although sticking napkins under some tables helped but doesn’t rectify the problem.

Fantastic views over loch lomond. Food very nice , but in an empty restaurant, we were seated right next to another couple. Felt like we were intruding on the other couple.

The fillet steak was a definite winner, compliments to the chef seasoned and cooked to perfection. Apple crumble and vanilla custard was amazing too

I ordered the duck as my main meal which, when it arrived, was not as warm as I would expect. I did start to eat it however my wife encouraged me to tell the staff. I did so and the waitress told me the chef thought it was because the meal had been out for so long rather than accepting it was cool when it was sent out. The fact that the potatoes were really hot and everything else was cool suggests the meal was plated waiting until the potatoes were ready. I offered to speak to the chef but he declined. Terrible attitude and the waitress was visibly uncomfortable relaying his message. Duty manager was quite defensive and ultimately dismissed my concerns stating we were ‘covering old ground’. The duck had a £3 cover charge which was removed and, insultingly, was suggested as a reasonable response. Chef needs to own his poor performance and stop hiding behind young waiting staff.

Everything was good, nothing blew my mind

We visited the restaurant this March, sitting by the loch-side window. The food was very nice and the views stunning. However, we were quite disappointed by the service! Upon arrival we were barely greeted and shuffled to our table with little communication. It took quite a while for our drinks order, and then subsequently our food order, to be taken. We waited about an hour for the food, while multiple tables who ordered after us were served before. And the other table arriving about one hour later than us got their food about 15 mins after ordering, which was much quicker than us! We ordered one burger and one steak. Upon departing the restaurant, we were treated in a similar manner to entry with barely any communication.

Didn’t have and korma left. Waited over 30-40 minutes to get water and had to approach several staff to keep asking. Would not return. Main pasta meal had too much oil and couldn’t eat it. Breakfast had good choice however heat coming through windows was unbearable and couldn’t see as was blinded with the sun.

Could be better to be honest, lovely place but for me the restaurant is lacking something. Food seems very processed and unless asked all the breakfast is underdone...almost white sausages and very very slightly done bacon. Had a harvester feel to it and I personally find that very plastic food. I would go back for the location and the views including from the restaurant were beautiful and that's why it's a shame that they are getting the restaurant wrong some how.

Staff were lovely and enjoyed all the food. Only reason for marking down on service was the slow time to get cooked breakfast. Arrived at 9am and didn’t get served with hot food till 9 40. Had to call staff over to take order & then a long wait for food to arrive.

Could not fault anything. Picturesque scenery while you dine, all servers, were polite and courteous. Bar staff were very welcoming and helpful, particularly the young man with curly hair. Unfortunately I never got his name. Food was delicious, well presented and served quickly. Our first visit and was pleasantly pleased.

Disappointed with the breakfast, Scrambled eggs were overdone and served in a bowl !!! It was hard to actually eat scrambled eggs this way, although being not as lush and creamy as promised, I didn't eat it anyway. Also the bowl had a crack at the bottom.

Looks may be deceiving. Ordered as the final part of a 2 night get away. The food came and as soon as I saw the "poached" egg on top my first reaction was I hope that cuts open better than it looked, well it didn't, cut through it and we had no yolk. It cut through like a hard boiled egg!!. I then moved the rest onto the plate and it was dreadful. Potato scone, haggis and black pudding soaked in grease. The worst fry up breakfast I have had and over the years I've had plenty. Sad ending to a lovely break away from home. ☹️👎

Just returned from a spa break. Beautiful place but food really spoilt it for me. Too much emphasis on making the plate look pretty that every meal was barely warm by the time it was served. Even breakfast each morning was special order but came the same , quite cold , so much so I left it . Also far too many drizzles and tastes that were not complimentary to each other!!!

Enjoyed both breakfast and dinner in the restaurant. Staff friendly and helpful. Would be nice to have some different dessert options. Overall good experience.

Service was lovely but the food was really bad quality. We had a chickpea burger and a chicken burger both with fries. You could honestly see the oil coming out the fries when you squeezed them. Made us feel sick. The afternoon tea was of low quality too. The cakes were sickly sweet and very sugary. Overall very disappointed and left with indigestion and a disgusting taste in our mouths from the oily chips. Very poor.

Was staying an overnight Dbb, breakfast was lovely variety. but to be honest was disappointed with the Menu choice of evening meal, not a mouthwatering variety! starters were poor, Tempura king prawn, was 4 small prawns

This was our first visit to Colquhoun Restaurant. We received a warm welcome by the girl at the desk and were shown to a table at the window overlooking the loch, the view was stunning. All the staff were very attentive and friendly. The food was well presented and tasty. The restaurant is well decorated and has a lovely atmosphere. We'll definitely come back.

Evening meal was delicious but at breakfast time (8-8.30), milk for cereal was warm and potato scones in cooked breakfast looked as if they had been over fried making them so tough I could neither get my knife or teeth into them.

Very nice, have stayed before and pleased to say still a delightful atmosphere.

Despite phoning ahead for our booking of 7 for afternoon tea with 1 gluten free guest I had to wait some time before this arrived at table. Such a pity as food was most enjoyable. Atmosphere at restaurant tables was cold though had a beautiful view.

The Food was Good, However when we went to Dinner the Restaurant was Really Cold ! There was No Heating on and we were put in the far Corner right next to a Door.It was that Cold i had to put my Puffa Jacket on ! None of the Staff asked if I was Cold as I was wearing my Big Puffa Jacket at the Table ! We then left the Dinning area and went through to Reception Area and it was Roasting with the Open fire on.??????

Booked after a great visit for the following fortnight. Arrived and had no record of booking, although booked on the first visit after our meal ! Called in the morning of our 2nd visit to ask for afternoon tea for two along with 2 hot meals for my guests, confirmed my 2pm reservation and confirmed. Arrived at 2pm and told no reservation !!! Got our afternoon tea £48 for 2. We got 6 finger sandwiches, 2 scones with cream and jam and 8 minute sweets ! £48 !!!! Was going to book on a regular basis however not now, I'll stick to Duck Bay.

Lovely morning tea, with one vegetarian and one regular cooked breakfast, scones, muffin, danish pastries and tea/ coffee. Friendly staff, excellent accessibility for powered wheelchair, view of loch was to die for, chairs in restaurant the most comfortable ever!

Myself & My partner stayed at Lodge on the Loch, we had a gorgeous 3 course dinner & breakfast along with our overnight stay. The food was absolutely BEAUTIFUL! I started with the Tiger Prawn Tempura, it was beautifully presented and tasted amazing. I followed that with the Battered Fish & Chips with Mush peas. Fish was so fresh served with chunky chips, was beautiful. And I topped off with the Chocolate Cookie Sundae which was very moreish but couldn't finish it as I was so full. My partner had the Soup of the day (Parsnip) and he assured me it was delicious, he then had the burger and chips followed by the Apple & Caramel Crumble. The food is beautiful and the portions are great, you will not be disappointed and will not leave feeling hungry. We will definitely be coming back as it was a lovely relaxed dining experience. The staff were fantastic, very helpful, polite and attentive. If you are thinking of attending I HIGHLY RECOMMEND! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Beautiful place to eat. Food was High quality and cooked to perfection. Staff were very friendly, helpful and barely any wait time between ordering and food being brought out. Can't wait to visit again. We got a meal and breakfast package stay, superb value for money given the high standard. Small subsidy to pay for more expensive items only on the dinner menu which I was happy to pay. 1 very small critique would be the tea and coffee station at breakfast got very busy but didn't take away from the superb food served.

Unfortunately I was very disappointed with the service. We were in and seated all good girl asked if we would like a drink cocktails were ordered and we also asked for water for the table. Drinks came and starters , we added again for the water she said yes no problem , still never came. Starters cleared. We asked again yip you guessed it still never came. Mains came they were very nice yip yet again asked for the water as thirsty and yip yet again never came. Really let us down on the service as food atmosphere was lovely. Forgetting once is ok but seriously this was embarrassing that we didn’t want to say anything else. We finally got our water once we had finished eating. Might not seem like a big deal but really let down our experience .

This was out first time dining here and it didn't dissapoint. All 3 courses were excellent and we would highly recommend anyone visiting this area to give this place a try

We were given a present of the skillet breakfast, which seemed interesting. Breakfast consisted of one sausage, one piece of bacon, one slice of haggis, one potato scone, one poached egg, with hollandaise sauce and half a tomato. This differs from what is advertised on the website. The quality of the food was very good. It’s advertised as a “skillet breakfast” and its pictured as being presented in a skillet pan on the website, giving the impression of being delivered piping hot direct from the kitchen. In fact it comes in a bowl, which needs to be transferred to the small plate from the bowl. The breakfast also comes with muffins, homemade scones with cream and jam, along with the Chef's sweet treat of homemade granola with yoghurt and berries. Coffee or tea is also included. It seems an odd combination to me. The main breakfast is delivered first then soon afterwards the granola, scones and muffins. The granola is in a tiny pot. I’m not a granola or yogurt person but it was very nice and I’d have that again. I found it a bit odd having muffins and a scone with jam and cream after my cooked breakfast. To be fair I’d rather have the granola and breakfast without the muffin and scone. I also found it really strange that a young lady was being interviewed, in the main restaurant, for a job, within earshot of customers. I was quite taken aback by this, particularly as the young lady was being asked some personal questions, which I won’t include here!! At one point the woman interviewing her said “that’s ok we don’t judge here”!!! Surely there must be a private area or office where such interviews can be carried out. I was embarrassed for the young lady. The hotel should apologise to her. It’s difficult enough facing an interview for a potential job without having to do it in front of the general public!!

Food was lovely, marked down from a perfect 5 as the brie starter would have been more appreciated if it had been a bit warmer. Our afternoon cocktails were lovely but I must admit I was disappointed the bar wasn't able to make a Bloody Mary. Breakfast was nice, although the black pudding was pretty tasteless. The haggis slice was lovely.

I have never ever before in my life had such high quality food so quickly! Mere minutes after ordering the starters were on the table, and the main not long to follow, and every single dish was perfection. Surroundings and view while eating are stunning even in the winter months. Staff are all very polite and well presented. There is Not a single complaint I can make. 10/10 place to visit for any occasion

My wife and I had lunch in as part of a deal with he Amber Rose Spa. The food was lovely and the service was great.

Had a lovely dinner and breakfast next morning. Couldn’t fault the service or atmosphere and well looked after by all the staff. I had the haggis for dinner and it was a great choice and recommend.

One of the worst meals I can ever have had the displeasure of eating. I went with the haggis Bon Bon starter which was lukewarm at best…. Then the pork belly…. Now pork belly is normally light coloured pink meat…. This was grey… it was cold and appeared to have been kept on heat for ages or from a previous day. I had an upset stomach all night. Not only terrible food but I’d say a health hazard. Breakfast was even worse… scrambled egg that had clearly been made hours before… left like small rubber balls on a plate which I sent back. Dreadful meal… looks like everything is a reheat.

A terrible food experience. I had the pork belly which looked and tasted like a re-heated meal from some time before and was at best lukewarm…. I was left with an upset stomach all night. The following day at breakfast I was still feeling upset so asked for scrambled eggs. This was even worse…. It had clearly been made hours before and had completely dried out and was cold…. It was disgusting and ruined what should have been a nice little stay… I’d avoid this place at all cost as I believe that the hygiene and food safety are a clear issue.

Had to return breakfast due to the egg being rubber like.did returned with new egg but nothing else had been changed.so. Ate the egg and left the rest witch was a full scottish.next morning avoided full Scottish.

Birthday dinner. Orders taken in timely fashion. Drinks served promptly. Food orders taken and food arrived in good time. Starters of tempura prawn and ham hough parfait were well presented and most enjoyable. Steak good and duck most enjoyable. Desserts a little disappointing- chocolate delice very nice tho' didn't enjoy crunchy chocolate shards, the cherries were uninspiring and amarena ice cream quite flavourless and insipid. Chocolate cookie sundae was also a little disappointing- quite watery ice cream- certainly not a high quality creamy product. The cookie was very sugary. All in all an enjoyable meal in a nice setting with attentive and efficient staff.

Made very welcome when we arrived in the morning, all staff were very pleasant and we were looked after very well excellent breakfast and unlimited tea and coffee was a nice touch, will defo be back .keep up the good work .

We had a 2 day stay at the lodge on the loch and had a fabulous time. We had breakfast and evening dinner in the hotel restaurant and the menu was varied with plenty of options for vegetarians.

Had a lovely couple of nights away and the most amazing food everything was absolutely delicious and I highly recommend.

The views are absolutely breathtaking, and the food was just as amazing! 🌅🍽️ Highly recommend starting with the Korean Brie—so delicious! 🤤 For mains, we had the duck breast, schnitzel burger, and Caesar salad, and every dish was packed with flavour. 🦆🍔🥗 Portions are super generous, so come hungry! Dessert was the perfect ending: the pumpkin cheesecake (my favorite! 🎃🧀), sticky toffee pudding, and a chocolate sundae—all divine. 🍰🍫 The vibe is immaculate, and the staff couldn’t have been friendlier. We were looking for a place with a view of the loch, and this spot did not disappoint! 🌊✨ Highly recommend! 🙌

We were seated at a window table, table was booked for 7pm was told that they would need the table back for 8.30pm. Can’t understand why we were told this as there was plenty other tables, and after our meal we sat in the lounge no one went near the table. Also felt that the background music didn’t really suit the hotel.

Very friendly and attentive staff, but food sub par. Burger was dry, meat was flavourless with no sauce, pickles, onion or other elements that usually add flavour, and fries were soggy. Beautiful view overlooking the loch, but interior atmosphere was very sterile and out-dated.

This is the second time visiting the Lodge with my boyfriend, and to the thermal suite. Every minute from start to finish was absolutely brilliant, food was amazing, staff were amazing and friendly. Would return every week if we could ❤️

The dishes came out very fast not sure they are cooked to order or just heated up. As one dish, the duck, came out half cold purée, carrots and broccoli and a cherry was cold and the jus was split. Sent back and came back heated up but missing the jus had to ask for it. We did Received complimentary coffee for in convenience but for the price you would expect whole dish to be served freshly prepared and hot. Service was excellent though and desserts were delicious.

Booked lucnh for two we were not disappointed. The view from the lochside table was fantastic sitting watching the cloulds move across the loch and slowly reveal and hide the hills and loch on an ever changing view. My food: The Haggis meat balls were very tasty I could have eaten more. The burger was full on meat and tasty and the Chocolate Sundae was beyond the usual resteraunt fair where puddings as seen as a small insignificant thing to get you to spend more. It was layered and presented very well and like the other two courses was moreish. From my wife: Oh my, the Korean brie starter was amazing, I could have eaten bowls of it, and would happily gone back just for that. The ceasar salad was very generous and there were thoughtful touches on the delice that made it very tasty. Other diners were having the afternoon tea which looked lovely too .

We had a great time. Praise to all the staff for there hard work and dedication to the hotel which makes the stay very pleasant.

We had an Afternoon Tea We were offered soft drinks instead of Prosecco as we were driving but they never materialised. The coffee was good and was replenished the food was good. We were told what the sandwiches were but it would have been nice to know what the desserts were. perhaps a menu to refer to would have been helpful. The tables are quite close together. It would have been nice if we had been asked if we would like our coats to be hung up and perhaps to have been told where the bathroom is.

Staff were amazing and very attentive ,food was average , no atmosphere in restaurant or bar . Could do with some entertainment in the bar .

A small group of us returned to a place we used to visit regularly as part of a surprise celebration for my wife's birthday and our 25th wedding anniversary. The food was as good as ever, the room relaxed, the staff attentive. The only downside was the ridiculous £9+ being charged for fairly basic deserts. As such, nobody ordered one. Apart from that, another memorable meal. Just a pity it was midwinter so we didn't get to see the spectacular vista.
