The best restaurants serving British food in Scotland

We sat outside for 15 minutes then went into the bar to ask , only to be told that they don't do food anymore. The advertising outside says they do .

Great place for a quick lunch whilst out shopping.Can recommended the steak Sandwick with chips.Good quick service and friendly staff.

Great food, great service, would recommend. Chips n curry is lovely and doner kebab great too.

Michelle has absolutely shocking attitude towards staff and customer never felt so disrespected in my full experience in going to subway Appalling customer service and I will not be back due to the way I was treated!!!

What a gorgeous wee cafe, I had the club sandwich which was amazing on gluten free bread, I am also dairy free and the lemon cake wow so so nice, great to see this option, not many places do, lovely setting, looks oldy worldy but such a cute Newtown

Ordered vegan food and found what seemed like animal part in it. They insisted it was part of a mushroom which it clearly wasn’t. This made my wife feel sick and therefore couldn’t accept the offer of another meal. Offers of drinks etc weren’t acceptable as this had ruined our evening. I had to argue for any reduction in the bill and was threatened with the police if I didn’t pay. Appalling customer service.

The staff are very friendly. We popped in for lunch and it was amazing. I would highly recommend the bbq chicken melt and the coleslaw was to die for. I really enjoyed my visit ☺️

Lovely pub with very friendly staff

The Malt Shovel is located on one of the nicest streets in the city. It's been 21 years since we were here. It was nice then and now it was great again. Very pleasant reunion with this pub. A lot of tasty beers (I did not have whisky this time), good pub food (Balmoral burger with haggis was delicious) and the service was friendly and good.

Didn't eat here, stopped for a drink great atmosphere very popular pub busy but was quite quick at getting a drink.

Reasonable food, completely xenophobic service, the server treated us differently because we were from another country, she took water for the other tables and told us to get up to get it, the dish took more than an hour and when it came, it was wrong and she insisted that was the dish

Went for dinner Haddock and chips were excellent, cleaned the plate...staff were very friendly and fast service.. Great stuff 👏 thanks

Fui al Golf Tavern el domingo antes de Navidad con mi hijo e hija para almorzar. Mi hija tomó el sándwich del club que ella disfrutó y yo y mi hijo tuvimos el pastel de carne. La tarta de filete estaba excelente pero había demasiada carne para que la terminara! : ) Cuidado con tus márgenes de beneficio : )
