Good things : This cafe is in a great location and offers plenty of seating outside which is ideal for those with dogs. Not so good things : The coffee was ok although pricey for the size of cup. Cakes were nice enough, but had too much buttercream icing. Bad things : The layout of the tables inside is a bit congested. The volume and choice of music appears to be for the benefit of the staff because we, and those around us at other tables, to raise our voices to have a conversation.

We never managed lunch with a friend here. The staff refused to move chairs so the 3 of us could sit together . Rude and un cooperative staff does not help businesses.

Food was expensive and alright, coffee was cold. Extremely disappointed with one particular member of staff who was exceptionally rude and made us feel unwelcome. Won't be going back and wouldn't recommend. Other options for better service and food in Ellon unfortunately.

I know this is a dog friendly cafe, but it’s kind of gross to have to sit at a table which is covered in bits of food and dog hairs. I would have left were it not for the fact that I’d just had a very long cycle and was desperate for a rest. The coffee was only just about warm enough too - I wouldn’t recommend this place.

We were there during the Haal festival and the restaurant was very efficiently run and the food was great.

The chippy is just up the road from us but we probably only pop in to get chips once a month to go with a meal we are making. The chips are always good these days, as is the service and the staff are really helpful. On more than one occasion I’ve seen them going above and beyond to help out a member of the public. Also really pleased to see the phasing-out of polystyrene trays and plastic bags in favour of paper and cardboard over the last few years. Fish could always be bigger but you could say that about any chippy these days and the last few fish I’ve had have been really good. Highly recommended.

Overall correct but below our expectations: the blue cooking required for the beef was limited, the accompaniments not very elaborate or sophisticated and the industrial sauces (what a shame!) Plates generously served. Certain whiskey references presented on the menu were no longer available and obtaining advice is not easy. Approximate but attentive and friendly service.

We visited with a group of five and were served quickly. I would highly recommend the Spicy Chickenburger.

One of the worst meals I have ever had here. Everything was frozen. Will not be back for dinner that's for sure. The management did actually deduct the price of one main meal that was the one good thing of the night. Sorry to write this about this hotel as it used to be one of the best in town but now probably one of the worst.
