Good food and excellent service

Really cozy, welcoming pub, there is a proper dining room however we did not see this. Took a chance and popped in after a long day's work and walking and wasn't disappointed. The staff were very welcoming and gave us a comfy table in the bar. They provided a really good gluten free menu with lots of good options available. We had the chicken curry with rice and chips and a side of veg. It's good old fashioned hearty pub grub and hit the spot perfectly, exactly what we needed. As well as the GF menu they had a selection of GF beers available, even a GF beer on tap! Will be returning for sure!

Proper pub food, friendly staff, decent price. Coal fire on a cold day and plenty parking if you need it.

Such a lovely experience! They accomodated a family dinner party of 5, on short notice, on the last day of 2023. The place was festive, warm, cosy and welcoming. The food was delicious, staff service was as good as it gets. The desserts were heavenly. We would definitely revisit on our next trip to Scotland. Thanks to the entire team and Happy New Year! Special thanks for giving the kids extra naan bread. 😍

Have been here several times before. Five of us went for lunch last Sunday. 2 of us had the roast beef, with all the usual accompaniments. It was delicious some of the best beef I have tried. My wife had the Haddock Mornay which she said was excellent. In all a good experience, staff attentive and efficient see you again very soon.Thank you.

We were there with 11 men, wanted to visit a Scottish pub and drink beer and especially whiskey after dinner. Food was excellent, 6 had haggis as a starter and found it extremely tasty. A successful evening, thank you.

Food was decent but service was desperately slow, even though it was the weekend and the place was far from busy (maybe 30% capacity). Staff were nice enough... Helpful but without the joy on their face and spring in their step you'd like to experience at any eatery worth their salt. Even coffee's took 15min to prepare... It was ok, but not the experience I had hoped for.

A lovely place to meet for a meal. The food was stunning and I could have spent hours looking at the various paintings they have on the walls. Staff were absolutely brilliant too.

Typically Scottish and excellent cuisine. Very pleasant service, possibility of having a drink on the terrace. We will return.

Family meal. All mains were tasty and big portions. Desserts were great as well. Friendly and attentive young staff. Place was full on a Tuesday night.

The food was very tasty and the price-performance ratio was also good. At times it took the staff a little longer to take orders, but everything was ok.

The pub is in a lovely area of the Royal Deeside. We came for a Sunday pub lunch. The customer service: they were pleasant but slow. Food was not piping hot. It was warm. The pub itself looks good and clean. Good selection of drinks. Dogs 🐶 are accepted at their tables outside but not in the pub. The menu is varied and prices average

Roast beef with all the trimmings. Very good. Staff attentive but not over powering. Will certainly be returning.

We visited this restaurant a few years ago just after covid restrictions and enjoyed some first class food. Returned this week and the quality is just as high. Very impressed with the hard working, professional and very friendly staff. A special mention for Mike who was a first class barman and host. Will definitely recommend.

Great pub but unfortunately Barman ripped me off giving me a paper £5 Scottish note in change which I didn't know was not valid currency until I visited the Stag and the barman there told me it was not valid,well done Mike barman .

Still good food and good ales. Sometimes the ale is a bif iffy but most of the time its good. Good to sit out in the sun. Decent staff.

Had lunch today table 6 at 12.30 was welcomed by a lovely waitress very attentive and nothing was too much trouble food was excellent and the restaurant was extremely clean well done to all keep up the good work we will be back👍👍👍

My daughter, 10 week old granddaughter visited the Skinners for lunch through the week and found it to he excellent service and delicious food! Due to gluten and egg intolerances, I found their menu very good for choice! We both had fish, chips and peas, wish was delicious and a very sizable portion too! Highly recommended!

My sister and I had a lovely meal here recently. Excellent menu, and clear what is gluten free. Discussed options and how cross contamination dealt with. Staff helpful with good knowledge regarding someone with Coeliac disease. Excellent service.

Popped in here for a bite to eat yesterday passing through. Great place. The serving staff all friendly and polite. Fast service and very accommodating. Food was great and prices were reasonable. Menu has a lot of choices too. Will defo be back.

Staff are fantastic, very welcoming and go out of their way to make your dining experience a real pleasure. Food was delish and great value for money. Been twice recently and couldn't finish my meal both times as was too much. Preferred sitting in bar area, though the dining area was nice and quiet. Will defo return in future.

Had a lovely meal here this evening, Lyne was so helpful and accomodating A very tasty gluten free/vegan pasta dish for my main followed by a lovely chocolate tart for pudding, again gluten free and vegan ☺️ highly recommend

Friendly staff, great selection of drinks inc. guest ales. Food is hearty and with local flavours. Great value and make sure you get a seat near the log fire if you can during these winter nights. Good car park which is handy for the designated driver.

First time in many years...what a wonderful menu! Where can you get Ox Liver and Onions on the menu...it was amazing! Will definitely be back and highly recommend it!

Wonderful extensive menu and the staff were so attentive. It was great that they did half portions too as my mother is elderly and likes to have have desert after her entree so it was Wonderful.

Absolutely loved it here! Food is very good, and reasonably priced, lamb is a very good choice and it's portion size is plenty! The waiter was a bit slow, but luckily the mood was good, so it wasn't a huge bother. 10/10 would visit again

Excellent. Warm & cosy with great atmosphere. Food was very good (liver & bacon mmmmm), fine selection of drinks Inc two real ales. We sat by fire with Cheltenham racing in TV...life doesn't get much better. Oh, and did I mention the friendly staff👍. A fine place well worth visiting.

We've been looking for a place to take our family and friends for sometime now around Deeside. We like proper food that taste great and doesn't break the bank. Everywhere we've looked at seems to serve that posh looking stuff that costs a fortune and most of the plate is empty leaving you hungry and broke. Scott Skinner's is a proper pub/restaurant that has a warm welcome, friendly staff, clean and comfortable and serves great food. My parents enjoyed themselves and we all had a great time. The steak pie was fantastic which three of us had, and my wife loved the scampi and chips, the puddings were also faultless. We will definitely be making this our regular stop for dinning out and for taking friends and family when they visit. Thanks for your hospitality.

The Restaurant was very busy but we got our drinks and food order very quickly. Staff came frequently to ask if we needed anything. Food and service were excellent.

Had a meal out with the missus and some friends. Nice to see the menu has been drastically downsized. The reduction in choices has translated to an increase in quality. Will dedinitely be back
