The Saltoun Inn in Aberdeenshire

The worst hotel I have ever been to, very rude service, elevator not working, no wifi, very cold room, no heating in the bathroom, very dirty and moldy. I do not recommend this hotel, especially for this price!!!!!

Taking over from spoons the new owners have done a good job. The food is fantastic atmosphere is the same it’s always been. Only thing is when I was in a few months ago a dog had done its business on tbe floor staff were told after the owner had picked it up but staff didn’t clean it up while we were there so might of forgotten due to being busy. Other than that fantastic stop

The food, drink and condition of the place were all great. However, it wasn't very busy even at times (Fri/Sat night) when you'd expect it to be. Please note this isn't a Wetherspoons any more, it went into another company's ownership a year ago.

One of the worst hotels I’ve ever stayed at, especially given the prices they charge! Lift not working at check in and left to lug bags up 3 flights, broken again at check out following week😖 No WiFi on floors - understandable considering the routers have been removed Rooms tired and list of items not working on the 4 different rooms I was put in, too numerous to mention Had my bags moved without warning to a different room after first night and basically told it wasn’t their responsibility to tell me but my company’s instead 🥴🥴 Restaurant closes at 20.00 despite saying it opens till 20.30 Bar shuts at 22.00 with no allowance if you’re a resident People allowed to sit in bar and Lounge in filthy working gear night after night Of all the staff there, only one female member was anywhere near polite, the rest were sullen or just downright rude. Might no longer be Wetherspoons but the legacy lives on Save your money and stay somewhere else!!

Went for some lunch, food was amazing and staff very friendly.

Great food at good prices and friendly staff. Didnt stay overnight so i cant comment on the rooms but i have no doubt they'll be fine because the staff are so good. Plus, they have an app for points and discounts and free coffees.. What's not to like..

Drinks was ok , food we all felt was overpriced for portion size and Quality (felt and looked like it was microwaved) also had a few items unavailable as they was eating in them being delivered , did not find out this till we tried to order, building was freezing cold with no heating on ( we all sat with our jackets etc still on) no music which we asked about and was told that they would not be turning it on ? Roof is in poor state of repair with water damage in multiple places. Pub also closes very early compared to previous owners and surrounding pubs The time before at this pub they had ran out of mixers and lemonade by 8pm. What was once a great pub has went down hill Very rapidly and that’s a huge disappointment

Went with family for food, had a cheese and tuna panini, and my mum had the BBQ chicken panini, tasked ok, the salad was strange as the centre of the cucumber was missing, and not a lot of variety in the salad, it was all green peppers and lettuce. The children's macaroni did not look or taste anything like macaroni should, it was red/orange looking more like a tomato sauce but there was no sauce, it tasted more like a vinegar mustard taste, not cheesy at all. After a half hour wait even though it was quiet, the food arrived cold. My sister ordered the dirty fries, which had components missing from the advertised dish. The buffalo chicken wings she ordered were good but arrived cold. The chips were good but also cold. We would of made a complaint, however family and myself were hungry and didn't want to wait any longer. The staff were friendly when we went up to order, table/ area was clean.

Bonne pie au poisson bien garnie. Jarret d'agneau bien préparé. Ouvert en janvier ce qui est rare.. Bon repas, pub confortable, prix dans la moyenne.

First time staying here since it was bought over, bar staff are friendly, food was really nice, room was clean and tidy plenty of room. Tanya is well suited to the job, she has great customer service and a great sense of humour. Adam was great too, friendly and chatty. Would definitely recommend visiting

We have used The Saltoun Inn many many times and never been disappointed. The staff are great and food good.....the only ddown side is the menus is quite limited

Our coach tour brought us to frazerborough today and we had so much time to pass we went here for lunch we ordered 2 bowls of soup and a bowl of Cajun fries the soup was just a big lump of thick gloop that was tasteless and bland far too thick and barely tepid but we enjoyed the fries. I don’t know how they served this as soup as you could almost slice it !!!!

Affordable prices for the quality and quantity of the food. I would highly recommend it to a student who's having a day out.

Had my first visit here and enjoyed it. The staff were pleasant and service speedy. Our meal was typical of Wetherspoons pubs and also also served promptly. The pub is easily accessed via the large car park outside. I would definitely visit again

Tuesday night is steak night. Not sure if it's the Chef or the Supplier but the steak was tough and I mean TOUGH. Beer great... Service great... Steak weelllll I wish I'd had a burger. No matter what the price if the food ain't good the price is too high. Cheff should look at what's left on the plates as an indication of quality especially when quantity is limited.

Ive been about a half dozen times since it opened. Its always been clean and the furnishings were nice. The food has always been brought quick on the occasions I had ordered.

First time I have been here and due to current situation we were told on entering that it was table service and not to go to bar to order, which was fine. We looked at menu but no one came to take our order even though it was quiet. We then seen on table that you have to order through app but other half couldn't remember his password so managed to ask a waitress how we could give order and she said go to bar and explain. Person at bar wasn't very helpful but said someone would come and serve us. On returning to table other half had remembered his password which was just as well as we would have left as no one came to serve us. Ordering was quite confusing but we eventually managed. Food came quite quickly and was nice but not very hot and I had to ask a waitress for our drinks which hadnt appeared. On the whole food was nice but service let it down, plenty staff but they seemed to prefer standing about chatting.

Great location for this Wetherspoons pub. Great service. Plenty of seating available. It was curry night when we visited and it was perfect.

Was a busy afternoon, took a little longer than expected to be served as only one guy behind the bar serving and about 8+ people waiting to be served after me,he was still so polite and friendly even though he was clearly rushed off his feet. Food is very reasonable priced. The meals we had were lovely and very quickly served after it had been ordered. Nice place to go if you are a family with children. Nice quiet area out the back If you are a smoker, with plenty seating.

We have stayed in every other Wetherspoon Hotel in Scotland, so this was the final one on our list. A long overdue visit to The Broch meant there was only place that we were going to stay and from the moment we walked through the door we knew it was going to be a great experience. We were warmly welcomed with a genuine interest in how our journey had been and what had brought us to this corner of Scotland. Our room was spotless and well maintained - we started off in the smaller room downstairs for drinks and food but ended up moving through to a table in the larger room next door when a works night out moved in beside us and needed extra space. It was 100% our suggestion to move and the group were quite overwhelmed that we had moved on voluntarily, not because they were causing any concern at all. We finished our night in the main bar area and retired happy and well watered for a restful, peaceful night. The service was impeccable and will be one of the main reasons for us returning to this part of our country.

My wife and I enjoy encountering two classmates of my from my school days. Everytime we have visited we have met people we know who are there for a meal or just a drink.

I personally have nothing but praise for this lot - I've taken groups of people there, phoned ahead and made food orders. it's always been spot on. They're nice people, and the food's fine. It's always been fresh and arrived promptly. Of course You don't go into a Weatherspoons for atmosphere, and none of them are fun when they're full and busy, but if you go at lunchtime or teatime for food there's no problem at all.

Service and choice of food was good, extensive menu, keenly prices as in all Wetherspoon's establishments, Parking outside in square.

We visit quite often, but will think twice about going back, it was Sunday lunchtime and very busy but the tables were not cleared from previous customers so plates piled up everywhere, two staff to do the bar the food and the clearing up was obviously not enough for that time of day, people next to us had waited 25 minutes to get there drinks after ordering through your app, ended up going to get it themselves, somebody else beside us had waited over an hour to get a breakfast,asked about it twice and still it didn't come , we ended up going somewhere else as did quite a few others...

Visited for lunch and was served quickly and cheerily. The meals arrived very quickly and were both very tasty. Considering the price, these were excellent value for money. We have visited here a few times and always had a good experience.

Ordered beans on toast at 11.41 did not arrive until 12.30. when it did arrive like warm. Telephoned the office at 12.28 whilst I was waiting just to say has not arrived. No appoligy just yep. And then hung up.I don't actually mind waiting I understand things in kitchen could be hetic.

My wife and I had two meals at the Saltoun Inn, supper and breakfast, as we were staying there.Both meals were very tasty and very nicely presented, but slightly cooler than we like to eat our food on both occasions. It wasn't off putting but I like my food hot and I believe there is a legal requirement for it to be at a certain temperature when it arrives at your table.The staff were all great, perhaps they were a little short staffed as they seemed run off their feet!

Spoke to us like crap. Asked to speak to manager and told “I’m the manger what you gonna do” just don’t think it’s a great atmosphere for a family to go to.

Waited 1 hour for food? food dry,manager no help full of excuses didn’t offer discount or a drink as way of apology food didn’t have much flavour very disappointing wouldn’t recommend it

Rooms were modern, clean. Central to Fraserburgh. Free parking a Castle St car park to rear of Hotel. Bar and restaurant had s food atmosphere but the food and drink can’t be billed to your room. Not ideal for business travel as normally you can bill this directly by the Hotel back to a travel company without having to pay yourself. Other than that. Best place to stay in Fraserburgh.

Combattuto se mettere 2 o 3 stelle, oggi mi sento buono e ne metto tre. Domenica 31 marzo 2019: stiamo facendo un tour in macchina per la Scozia e giustamente includiamo nelle tappe anche Fraserburg. Ci arriviamo all'ora di pranzo e, parcheggiata la macchina ci incamminiamo alla ricerca di un locale. Sono tutti chiusi e quei pochi locali aperti che troviamo lungo il tragitto hanno esposto all'esterno il cartello "full" ossia che sono al completo. Arriviamo in una piazzetta indeboliti dal calo di zuccheri ed entriamo al Saltorn Inn. Il locale, in perfetto stile "british" funziona che ordini e paghi al banco e ti portano il mangiare al tavolo. Io ho preso l'Empire State Hamburger: la carne oltre ad essere parecchio bruciata che conferiva un sapore amarognolo a tutto l'hamburger, era piena di pezzi duri che non voglio sapere cosa fossero. La persona che viaggiava con me invece ha preso fish & chips che ha trovato molto buono. Entrambi però eravamo molto appesantiti, di certo non hanno risparmiato con i grassi in cucina.

Went here with our family on a Tuesday at tea time. We had sirloin steaks as it was the steak night and the plates were cleared. The steak was tender and for £7-85 with a drink included this was great value. The young man who served us was very polite, helpful and friendly. Will certainly return.

Ideal restaurant for a quick meal without the hassle of booking, the service was good although the restaurant was busy. Food was great.

I realise that it is lunchtime and quite busy, but the tables are stroon with used dishes, cups and glasses. Minimal staffing trying to clear, so customers doing what they can for themselves. Piles of used glasses and cups moved to the end of the bar, don't exactly give a good impression for arriving guests. More staff is urgently needed just to cope with clearing, never mind delivering the very slow orders. Sorry, no food review, but it's still not been brought to the table!

This place is cheap and it is just a typical Weatherspoons pub sometimes you have a meal and think it’s great and sometimes you have a meal and think well that was awful. It is cheap so you get what you pay for but sometimes that’s all you need

Great selection of food and drinks. The service is good too. Nobody bothers you when in a group having a laugh. Lots of buzz, but no music which it could be doing with, but its great that you can hear each other talk. Would recommend for a catch up with friends or a lunch or tea with family.

Lovely building, nicely restored, good parking. Cheap drinks, acceptable food just a typical Wetherspoons but oh dear cheap desperate single women bar customers spoil the place :(

We have been here before for the fish Friday and the place is always full. Great value for fish and chips and a drink.

Other wise known as weather spoons, just basic unless its steak night, wouldn't recommend unless you want cheap drink. Staff are not friendly was told my hot chocolate was ready to collect from the bar, which could have been taken to us, dismal place

Five of us had the fish Friday lunch and we could not get over the value for money this was. To have a main course each plus a wine or beer for around £35 was excellent. The fish and chips and the service were good. The place was very busy which tells its own story.

We had an evening meal here on Saturday 21 July 2018. The place was very busy but we were lucky enough to find a table without having to prebook. The staff were pleasant and helpful and the food was tasty and very quickly served. We would visit again if in the area.

We have eaten here quite a few times before and the food has been pretty good. However, tonight we went there at around 7pm, and it was really busy. I order a steak (medium) a veggie burger and a scampi. We waited for around an hour for our food, the staff were really harassed but we didn't really mind as we were having drinks as well. Eventually the food arrived. Steak was really awful - tough, overcooked, more than well done. Chips were warm not hot. Veggie bun was hard. Scampi was lukewarm, peas were cold but we were so hungry by this time. I complained to the bar staff (even though it was not their responsibility as they were so busy). The bar staff came and refunded us half the cost of our meal and offered us free desserts. Now, we could have been more stroppy but it wasn't his fault. I asked about the manager but she was nowhere to be seen - she left the bar staff and (young) waiting staff to deal with the problems. We took the refund and ate the rubbish meal as we were hungry and couldn't be bothered so wait for another hour. We had the free pudding (which we probably wouldn't have ordered but since it was free and we were annoyed we had it). To be fair the pudding was really good.

I booked in March 2018. turned up on Sunday 17th June 2018 to be told that there was no room booked for me, and the hotel was full.

Trying to eat out in Fraserburgh is an inconsistent experience. Some of the local places are great, some are disappointing, some have weird opening times and some refuse to serve you food at times you'd have no problem getting a meal in the city.

Doing a keto diet isn’t easy when you want to eat out. Whetherspoons have a couple of great options and are great at swapping items for you.

was here having lunch with friends and asked for baby food to be heated up in which was in a microwave bowl of my own to be told no.... the baby had to eat it cold

It was a busy Friday night, but the standard of food was exceptional - best fish and chips we've tasted for a long time!

Arrived here looking for lunch with our granddaughter. Found a table and chose from the menu. Had to wait in queue at bar for nearly ten minutes (only two staff behind bar on busy Saturday) only to find that they had no fish!! (In one of the busiest fishing ports in Scotland)

Once again, the front of house serving staff were very customer friendly and "smiled". They looked like they were enjoying their jobs. Tables cleared in good time and sanitised. The toilets are probably the cleanist we have experiences in any Wetherspoons. The range of drinks is extensive. Sun garden when not raining. Free WIFI and the Wetherspoon app so you can order from your table, brilliant. Even if the bar area is quiet, you can still use the app and keep looking after your possessions and shopping. No far from the bus station.

Had a couple of ok meals here and more than a couple down right rubbish ones.Absolutely cremated starter which yes was replaced but no apology made for it.Upon reading other reviews seems it's never your fault though so I'll await the response of being very busy blah blah blah as the excuse but sorry unless whoever prepared this is blind then there is no excuse

Booked in late, room was huge clean and modern, a pleasant. Surprise at the verify reasonable rate. Staff were helpful and meals are served till 11pm which makes a change from " you just missed dinner. My meal was tasty and very reasonable and you get a free pint. Good breakfast with the local breakfast club that take advantage of the good prices free Coffe top ups and the papers. For an overnight business stay perfect.

Ademand to "pay up front" so when one discovers lousy food served then complains no cost refund happens. NEVER GAIN!!

Not run of the mill Wetherspoon !!Recently opened, up together TBF.A good size bar area, private area available, outdoor dining on the terrace, usual " spoons" deals.Good parking facilities, although on a meter until 6pm, other parking is also nearby.

Having eaten a dinner meal in Wetherspoons Aberdeen a week or so ago. We decided to have a family dinner in the Saltoun Inn. A place that brings back many memories of having my wedding party dinner and dance there in 1965.I arrived with my daughter and 2 children 5 and 7, as well as my brother in law. We had just laid a memorial at the cemetery where my was interred.All that aside having had a great meal in the Justice Mill another of Wetherspoons chain all that was about to change.Yes the restaurant was busy at 6 pm on a Tuesday Aug 09. We found a table as yet uncleared. We cleared the dishware and glasses and prepared to order. At the counter a very flustered server, took my order after repeating it several times and being told that FISH was unavailable, Quinoa Salad was unavailable and this process took an extrordinary 20 minutes to complete. Even then the receipt was stamped at 18:06. The drinks were 3 pints lemonade with lime cordial. and 2 half pints with Lime Cordial. This is the first time I have ever seen Lime Cordial measured in a shot glass and added to the lemonade. Then even further surprised to be charged by the shot for a shot of cordial added to the price. After waiting 40 minutes for the meal I approached the duty manager, who was flustered to say the least. I have been in the food service business my entire working life over 1/2 a century. She gave me the excuse that they were busy, then the excuse that the server was in training. I told her I understand training but no one was helping her. Then when I said I write reviews for a paper. She said any complaints can be dealt by Wetherspoons. I then suggested that since no one at our table was drinking alcohol that perhaps a token glass of Lemonade would be appropriate for our meals when they arrived. She said they are being delivered now. I went back to my table and found no server nor meals. They were not served for another 10 minutes a full hour plus after initial order. A very unpleasant experience, and a great disappointment in this Inn carrying the Wetherspoons brand name. Meal served was warm not hot and in a very poor shape.We ate what we could and left. Wetherspoons must conduct an inspection of service training and practice at this prime location.

Wholesome food, reasonably priced,as all wotherspoons are. Same food in all of them. Good value for money.

We went here on a Friday at tea time and had the fish Friday special. Superb value for money . The fish and chips were very good and the service was very good considering the place was almost full. Great addition to Fraserburgh.

Ein schon in die Jahre gekommenes aber innen neu renoviertMit amerikanischen Zügen ist für Mitteleuropäer ungewohnt.Bezahlt muß im Vorhinein werden. OkDass es im Restaurant nur Selbstbedienung gibt ist fremd.Man kann aber auch Mittel App bestellen und bezahlen.Ohne i phone werden Sie verhungern.Im Gesamteindruck ein wenig gewöhnungsbedürftig aber für 2-3 Nächte machbar

After waiting over half an hour we were brought food that we did not order,we asked for a refund,while waiting on that refund my grandchildrens food arrived they took one mouthful and spat it straight out it was disgusting no flavour at all,still waiting for the refund I go to the bar to ask if we are getting a refund and the manager Carrie-Ann shouts at me 'I'm sorting it go and wait at ur table 'I am disgusted with the way this place is being operated I will not be returning

Super ambiance ! Nous sommes vraiment dans un pub ! Les serveuse ont vraiment fait de leur mieux pour se faire comprendre. C'est dommage qu'il n'y ai pas de menu en français. J'ai voulu goûter le haggis. Je n'ai pas aimé , je m'en doutais. Mais il fallait y passer au moins une fois. Il y beaucoup de sorte de bière. Et de la bière écossaise aussi. Les tarifs sont top. Un menu traduit en français serai idéal

Thankfully a good visit this time, even though it was busy and a 20 minute wait for the order, the food was good even though the chicken in the Rib Combo was a bit dry and overcooked, thankfully the Coleslaw and BBQ sauce rescued it.My Steak was cooked to perfection, its been a long time since I have cleared my plate in here.

It's a lovely place, cosy and well maintained, foods is rather good for the price you pay, can be quite busy, and sometimes have a long wait for your food, but this just shows you how popular the place is, most of the staff are friendly enough, one or two needs to put a smile on their faces, they are dealing with the public after all

On Saturday the 11th March we enjoyed a great evening at the Saltoun Inn. Our group of 16 friends had a rare time in the snug bar. Many thanks to Sharon for keeping the tables free for us so that we could all sit together.

Great place to have a lovely lunch with friends. Very nice service and reasonable prices. Can be very busy of a lunchtime.

On this visit, I was impressed with the front of house staff for speedy service, welcoming smile and "happy to yelp attitude". Some great drinks deal with double up offers on some spirits. The staff gave diners an estimation how long it will take to be delivered to your table and never heard this positive in any other Wetherspoons. Table clearing and disinfecting carried out quickly when diners left. Very clean interior. I have to report that the overall experience was one of the best for a Wetherspoons.

Great value food and drink. A spacious bar and restaurant with a lovely outside seating area at the rear. Clean and tidy and a great choice of menu

Reception staff was friendly on arrival and explained where everything was. I was surprised that it was a room only for £80 and breakfast had to be paid separately as well as dinner which was a slight inconvenience when on business. The decor of the room was elegantly put together from the colours, wall coverings and lighting not to mention the bathroom. Bed was comfortable, tv was a good size and tea coffee biscuits and even water which is always good. My room temperature wasn't too hot and the window had been left open not good when temperatures outside is in the minus. However heating system was easy to operate and warmed up within 20 minutes. Only downfall is the phone and internet signal I couldn't get any signal on my own devices and I couldn't get the hotel cloud wii fii to work which was inconvenient as I had work to catch up on. Breakfast was very silent I was the only one there breakfast was good poached eggs and muffins cooked well. Very impersonal for dinner and breakfast as can expect with a weatherspoons however not what I'm used to while being in hotels. Overall good hotel, clean and elegant with friendly staff will be back if back in the area.

Visited for lunch and found the service to be quick, friendly and efficient. The food arrived quickly and was hot and tasty. Excellent value for money. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is that it is basically pub grub, but very good indeed. Will certainly try again when in Fraserburgh.

While on holiday visited for dinner with friends. We all had the fish and chips, I have to say it was the best fish and chips we have had for a long time...amazing ! Very well served quickly but the quality and taste was amazing. Well done !!

Had a bit of a fiasco trying 2 places which both stopped serving at 1.45! So headed here. It was very busy but we found a table in a quiet area very easily. Extensive menu with loads of deals but as we were both feeling famished from a long beach walk went for burgers - crispy buttermilk chicken with bacon and cheese for me and beef and haggis for hubbie. Go to bar to order and it was a little slow but everyone was waiting their turn and staff doing there best. Order taken quickly and advised 15 minutes for food. Hubbie said beer was good and food came within designated time. It was fresh and tasty. Waitress was a little dour and I had to go and get condiments from another table - she didn't offer - but for the price I guess what do you expect!

Place was filthy. It looked like it needed a good scrub. Staff was not overly helpful. Couldn't find the toilets. Signage was none existent. In the end had to ask a customer for directions. Won't be going back

As with all Wetherspoons you know what you're getting for your money, it ain't no Michelin star rated food but it is value for money , with a menu to suit most tastes.

normally I am in weatherspoons as a regular but today was disappointing. I got a fish that looked as though it had been squashed and was all hard crisped over fried and hardly any fish. mushy peas were reheated dried up. very disappointed to be served up this. got another meal within 10 minutes. The second meal was ok but I could have ate better in a chip shop for £6.80. also my table of friends were put off with a couple across from our table who couldn't keep their hands off eachother the whole time. totally off putting considering there is bedrooms upstairs for peoples own privacy.

It's a Spoons and you get what you pay for.Chilli was nice, as was the apple pie, washed down with a couple of pints.The actual bar itself is lovely. Wetherspoons do these takeovers of old established places very considerately.Recommended if you're in Fraserburgh.

We spent 4 nights in the hotel (reviewed separately) and ate both breakfast and dinner in the hotel most of the time. As usual with Wetherspoons the meals and drinks were good value for money. The food was served hot, quickly and was good at both breakfast and dinner.One night there was some event going on (a type of craft fair selling things if I remember) which didn't seem well attended but meant a lot of the restaurant space was taken over and couldn't be used. That evening we had to wait until quite late to find a vacant table but otherwise getting served was reasonably easy.

Normally good. I know they are cheap. But the sausage comes in the roll. And you have to butter your own roll. Plus you have to make your own tea. Bring back old fashioned service

Good place to go for a meal. had a lovely freshly cooked fresh fish for lunch. go most weeks for breakfast. most of the food is served quickly, especially was on this visit. it is worth going to for a meal.

Went for lunch midweek at the restaurant/bar.It was quite busy with many families and took a while to order food & drinks at the bar.There are a wide variety of "meal & drink " offers available and you can find something to suit all tastes I think.There is also a small hotel attached to the Inn, but I did not use this.

Wir schlafen im Haus und haben uns für ein Abendessen im Pub entschieden. Die Einrichtung ist modern mit dennoch traditionellen Elementen. Es gibt eine tolle Auswahl an Speisen und Getränken-auch regionale! Die Speisekarte bietet für jeden Geschmack etwas passendes. Zusätzlich gibt es glutenfreie, laktosefreue und vegetarische Optionen. Der Pub ist Pub, Restaurant und Coffeeshop zu gleich. Die Preise sind moderat. Wir entscheiden uns für einen Chicken Burger mit Avocado und Käse (weitere Optionen wählbar) und den Klassiker Fish an Chips-natürlich mit Erbenpüree, Brown Sauce und Essig... Das essen kommt zügig und ist schön heiß. Der Service ist freundlich und einem Pub angemessen. Es gibt eine sensationelle Auswahl an Bieren. Flasche und vom Fass-zusätzlich weitere regionale handwerklich hergestellte Biere aus der Umgebung! Sehr toll!! Wir essen zufrieden. So soll ein modern ausgerichteter Pub sein!

We had dinner at the Saltoun as we were staying there. Very busy with the locals, The food was great (too big a plate for us though), very good value

Working in the area and had 3 main meals and breakfasts. First meal was mid evening and very busy. I was advised food may take 25 mins to arrive. Ten minutes or so later it was on the table, well presented and best of all tasty! Next morning I had traditional breakfast which was again served quickly and piping hot. Everything was cooked to perfection, I noticed the hotel had some big wigs staying over so thought this might have had a bearing on the quality. No worries, the other two mains and this mornings breakfast were equally as good. The staff have been very friendly and efficient, I'd seen a few bad reviews recently do was a bit dubious but my concerns were unfounded. If there were genuine issues recently then I think they have been ironed out. Remember people it's Wetherspoons, not the Ritz! Special mention to the breakfast waitress, she had just the right attitude for mornings, friendly but not overly so.

Great Hotel and bar good Value Weatherspoons food & drink rooms are very smart and clean would defined recommend this Hotel though you might need some earplugs because of the noises seagulls not too bad if windows are kept shut.

Stayed here for 2 nights one as a family and other as me and my partner, rooms are lovely nice bathroom, comfy bed etc.. Cleaned daily. Had a few meals in this place and they were reasonable at the size and quality. Breakfast is lovely!! Only problem is I've seriously torn my ligaments and tendons in my ankle I was downstairs eating and drinking. Asked a member of staff if I could use the disabled toilets as saved me hopping upstairs via lift or stairs! And she point blanked me and gave me the funniest look ever and said no sorry go and use the lift. Very inconsiderate as far as I'm concerned. Wouldn't recommend this place if someone has hurt there self as the staff don't bother one bit about your personal injuries.

I ordered nachos for a starter and steak for my main. They came out together. I mentioned this to the waiter and he said, "My fault, sorry." The nachos were terrible and hardly had any cheese. The steak was overcooked and cold. There was a tablespoonful of peas and about ten chips. The mushroom looked like it was stepped on by a cow with dirty feet. The two glasses of wine which were to be 175ml (the measurements were etched on the glasses) only measured 150ml. The glasses were dirty. My eggs benedict the next morning were cold and terrible. The staff is not trained properly. The parking is terrible.

Stay has been nice, rooms clean although given wet floor shower room which was not ideal. Staff friendly. Went for dinner in hotel on steak night. Ordered rare steak and was sent back twice due to being well done both time. Was only offered a refund of half the amount paid. Although hotel was nice, this has ruined it for me.

Weather spoons are always guaranteed to give you what they say cheap and quick meals in friendly environment and this place lives up to this! Very busy on a sat night but didn't have to wait long and nice and tasty for price paid , worth a visit!

Just had a Rump Steak cooked to perfection with Stilton Sauce, a pint of Doom Bar with the meal. The staff as usual were polite and helpful. It so so good to see the standard has been kept to such a high standard.

Our room was comfortable if somewhat cold. Followed instructions re heating but no improvement, had to phone reception to get the heating turned on. The only place in town to have an evening meal; typical bar food, good service.

Just nip in food not restaurant quality but will fill you up serving staff is always good and helpful
