Stopped on the way to Fort William for a light lunch. Soup and roll were just right and the coffee was good. Pleasant, welcoming staff.

Not a great experience, average food, nothing to complain about but nothing to commend it either. Pleasant staff, bar man served diet coke instead of a large tonic water but it was his first day!

Na een lange wandeldag hebben we hier heerlijk gegeten. Lekkere pasta met zalm en spinazie en een langzaamgegaard varkensvlees.

Stayed in a nearby guesthouse and had dinner at Loch view. The view is absolutely brilliant. The atmosphere is very relaxed, the service was friendly and prompt and we all enjoyed our meal. Meat was tender, seafood was fresh, local and everything was cooked very well. Good desserts.

La comida está bien, las vistas son guays pero por la noche si está muy oscuro no se aprecian. El servicio muy bueno y amable y nos recomendaron whiskys y nos explicaron parte de la historia de la zona

We stopped at the hotel for the night, and we were hungry. This restaurant offered a great dinner that was relaxing and had a great view of the lake. During pleasant weather, they have a deck for outdoor seating. Even if you don't stay the night, you can have a lovely meal here.

The views here are amazing - the kids were all on the banks for ages. The food was lovely and they were very accommodating for our large party of adults and children. The sachets of condiments and butter didn't stack up to the high levels of food that then arrived.

Why go here when you can go to Loch Leven Seafood Cafe? As with too many restaurants on Skye, way understaffed so service was glacial. The food was OK, nothing exciting. We wished be had gone back to Loch Leven Seafood instead.

first impressions may suggest to avoid this hotel, however, there are a number of major positives that are very attractive and positive. We weren't,t staying at the hotel but nearby in a local guest house. Finding somewhere to eat locally isn,t easy but after a long day in the car but a stunning journey, we just wanted to eat close and the hotel was the only place we think within walking distance and would let us take the dog . The hotel is on the main road with a car park to the right. The sign for the hotel could do with a clean and improvement to get more customers through the door. We weren't,t sure if we were able to eat there as non guests but the receptionist was friendly and invited us in. The entrance to the public bar was dark and not the most welcoming , with a tatty old carpet which ought to be replaced with laminate or a lighter flooring to make the welcome more inviting. The bar area has a combination of old and new with a lovely decking place outside with seating and a garden area below, in front of a beautiful loch with magnificent views. the scenery is worth the food bill if I am honest. the staff were a mixed crew with obvious frictions between them, with a number of hard workers who were keen to please their customers with a up to date refreshing approach, knowledgeable and excellent customer care. Other staff are in need of bringing service into the 21st century, in terms of dealing with customers and the technology of the till and knowledge of drinks. I felt slightly uneasy about getting the right drinks and prices!!! We sat outside on the decking which was a great area to have dinner. The food was good and we all enjoyed our meals, thank you. Would we return? I don,t think we would unfortunately despite the good food, we would try something different. This is a great shame as this hotel as great potential and needs to be brought into the real world of good service , particularly with the fantastic location. Not a disaster but a touch of the faulty towers. I hope I have been fair to all who hose to read this review.

The Loch View delivers on their name--a spectacular view of the loch. I had penne with a salmon cream sauce while my wife had pheasant Ballotine and both were delicious. The service was very pleasant and efficient and the view was stunning.

Went for dinner with friends last night food was great service was awful! 30 minutes after arriving we still hadn't had a drink order taken or asked if we wished to order food.,after we managed to get the waitresses attention food came out quite quickly (potatoes were cold) that was the last we saw the waitress we were not offered a dessert menu tea coffee when we asked for the bill and once the money was on the table she ran over. There was also a dog allowed to wonder about the restaurant area. Would not recommend as service was dreadful

Great to find a hotel that allows you to dine in its bar/lounge next to a roaring log fire - with your dog. This pet friendly hotel on the banks of Loch Linnie has traditional, well prepared food and although our rump steaks were a wee bit pricey (£17.50) were delicious and cooked to perfection. Friendly staff made sure my birthday treat was very enjoyable. We dined at the end of November so had to imagine the view from the glass-fronted dining room. Must return in the summer! Thanks everyone.Norrie

A promising start until the food appeared. The menu in this place uses all the right words to make it sound like a fine dining experience with the prices to match. I ordered the lambs liver with bacon and onion, a dish I'm well aware would cost less than a quid to make. For £11 there was considerably less than £1 of ingredients though; overcooked liver, a half carrot and a half parsnip. Again for £11 the crab and salmon fishcakes served as a main course should be on the started, and for half the price. As a Scotsman I'm continually embarrassed by restaurants in Scotland fleecing tourists with overpriced, poor quality food.

Called in here initially for a drink and ended up booking for a meal the following day having seen some of the plates being brought out.The floor manager was very friendly and polite. Waiting staff were young but appeared able and were polite. Only thing I didn't like was a couple of them wore jeggings which doesn't befit the restaurant and food served. We ordered the mains....think my partner's was bannatine of pheasant and mine a chicken breast stuffed with goat's cheese and basil with roasted peppers and roasted potatoes. Deserts were superb, sticky toffee pud and orange crepe for me. Only niggle I have is that the portions were small ( for me) I don't normally eat desert but did on this occasion as I wasn't satiated. The meals were perfectly cooked, presented and delivered piping hot. Very cheffy and not what you would expect here.Would change the menu as it's on a laminated sheet that again doesn't befit the food presented. Hotel a bit tired and dated but the food more than makes up for it. Reasonable prices for food and drink.

Decided to drop on for dinner as weather was awful and our motorhome didn't seem that tempting. Fabulous views over the loch, I'm sure it would be gorgeous on a Summer evening.Fish and chips was excellent with fresh fish, good chips. Chicken was better than ok but the whole place felt tired with obvious signs of an old leak above our heads in the dining room - half an hours work with a paintbrush to put right. The impression was that the food was fine, but no-one could really be bothered.

Stayed up the road at a BnB and were left a little stranded for the evening after our tour guide left. This was our only choice for dinner within walking distance as we did not have a car. We were pleasantly surprised.Don't be fooled by the dingy and dated building and dining room, the food here is top notch. There is a spectacular view of the loch and highland mountains. All four main courses were delicious. Fish and chips were just as they should be crisp and fresh. The pheasant roulade was well cooked and juicy, something slightly fancy. The venison burger was a total winner on a fresh and well toasted brioche bun. The food would have been worthy of any gastro pub in any of the major cities in the UK.Friendly staff. The manager even gave us a lift back up the road to avoid the 20 minute walk in the rain! A true diamond in the rough!

Stopped here on my way back from Oban. The restaurant and the accommodation is dog friendly, so myself and the pooch went in for something to eat. I fancied falafel, but didn't want a main course size - no probs, they gave me a half portion and charged me half price - £5. I didn't expect much for this, if I'm honest, so I was incredibly surprised at what I received. Two falafel with large roasted mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, roasted veg and a sour cream dip. I can say nothing else, other than it looked and tasted spectacular !The staff were sitting down to have their dinner (I was the only person in, as it was only about 5pm). I have no idea what they were having but the amazing aroma was killing me ! Not only will i eat there again, I intend to stay in the hotel. It is dog friendly and the rates are very reasonable. The staff were the loveliest people - friendly and chatty.Plenty of parking and great views at the back of the hotel from the restaurant and accommodation. A variety of very comfy seats, plenty of space and wheelchair friendly. The place was busy with many people checking in while I was there and the phone never stopped ringing. This is an utter gem of a find, and am so glad I just dropped in and discovered it !

Stayed in accommodation close by and was recommended visiting this restaurant. The dining room has views over the loch and on a spring evening is a lovely place to be. We had a meal in the bar; a lovely room with fantastic views over the loch. The food was nice. The service on the other hand was awful from start to finish. It wasn't that busy but we found it difficult to get anything close to decent service, felt invisible. The staff seemed be busy but were rushing around like headless chickens; no organisation or leadership. To top it all, the girl that seemed to be in charge had a strangely arrogant and defensive attitude to customers valid grumblings.

Called in one lunchtime and ordered as starters Garlic bread and cheese for my wife and Cullen Skink for myself. After 10 minutes mine arrived but no sign of my wife's. No sign of any staff so I sat and waited as we wanted to eat together. After 10 minutes my wife's arrived and I asked for mine to be replaced so we could eat together. The waiter left and I then saw that the garlic bread was burnt to a cinder with cheese placed on top. I asked for the chef and the duty manager arrived, She took one look and said that is not acceptable we will replace it. By this time my starter was going cold again so I said forget it please just bring the main courses. They were excellent!!! My problem is meals to a table should be served together and then a super star chef or one of his staff burns the garlic bread, then tries to fob us off with it by covering it with cheese. The waiter then tries to serve us with it. The duty manager did not charge us for the garlic bread that we did not have or the tepid Cullen Skink. The quality of our main courses and the other reviews convince me to try the restaurant again at sometime in the future.
