I have been here many of times. I walk to here probably twice a month and have a mocha, or a cold drink. I've also ordered food here. Staff are polite, courteous and the food is really good and everything is so well priced. In a beautiful location. I will always enjoy coming here. Happy to tip too!

Gorgeous battered chicken fillets and a fresh fillet of fish. The service was superb and the quality of the food was second to none. We even managed to get a portion of scraps. Best fish and chips we’ve both had in a long time and reasonably priced in comparison to Aberdeen.

First day of holiday so wanted something quick and easy, having read other reviews we thought Smiffys was the place to be. The party had haddock and chips while myself and sister had chicken fillet burger and chips. Meal Super Hot (even though we had to travel a little way back home), plenty of chips and the burger was simply 👌🏼. Juicy, crispy and full of flavour. To make this raring a 5⭐️ is maybe look at adding a slice of tomato or a few strands of onion. Other than that highly recommend

Gorgeous setting, sadly very mediocre food. Service lovely, great friendly waiters but the food is just not up to the mark. Expensive, small portions, they reckon they have hotel restaurant of the year in the central belt but on our experience I wouldn’t hold much to that accolade!

We went to Quayside for lunch on a Sunday afternoon and we really enjoy the atmosphere there. It is a simple place, but at the same time cozy and with a beautiful view to Gourdon harbour. Although the service was a bit slow between the children’s meal and the adults meal, we were delighted with the food: a simple meal very well cooked – we had fish and chips, the tartar sauce was very tasty. For desert we had brownie with ice cream and it was excellent. Definitely will be back.

We popped in to buy a couple of cakes whilst we were on a holiday in the area. Pistachio blondie was amazing -rhubarb frangipane ok. Also, chicken & leek pie and steak & haggis absolutely delicious pastry & chunky meaty contents. Back a few days later to pick up more blondies & pumpkin brownies for family at home! Seeded bread also next level. Love this place .

The staff are lovely however…. the food is mediocre at best. Such a shame as it’s a lovely village and the hotel is in a gorgeous location overlooking the river with spectacular mountain views. I had the vegetarian options on the Christmas menu. Roasted cauliflower and chickpea salad was the only vegetarian choice. It was somewhat unusual for a Christmas menu starter and not too good. It also lacked the advertised sourdough. The only vegetarian main course of soy glazed tofu with stir fried vegetables was very salty and surprisingly came with no rice or noodles although all other menu options on the table came with a starchy carbohydrate side. The advertised lime and ginger cheesecake with mango coulis for pudding was a vanilla cheesecake with fruit and ice cream. The unexpected raspberry was delicious. The decaf coffee was perfect but the mini mince pie was chilled and while it was lacking in mincemeat it was plentiful in pastry. With lovely staff and such a spectacular location, all this restaurant needs is good food to give it a five star review.

Great pub, very nice staff too. Went here for dinner Friday & Saturday, the food was delicious, being veggie I always worry what's going to be set down in front of me but I have no complaints whatsoever. Young staff but very attentive and polite, always good when you receive great customer care. We also had our two little dogs with us but no issues at all. We will definitely be back next time we go to the caravan site,so handy just being a 5 minute walk away.
