Food quality quite okay. Haggis starter was good! The classic burgers less so. A little too greasy, too salty, too much. Staff are friendly. The pub itself could use an update. Price was on the high side for what you get.

Exactly what we needed. Great deals and great quality, especially the burgers. I never saw my friend smile from his eyes from how satisfied he was.

After a long drive, we had a perfect dinner. I don't need to go anywhere else to know this is the best restaurant in the Highlands.

We were looking for a nice pub meal on our first night in Fort William and the Tavern delivered. Family group of six including three kids. Speedy service. Lots of good options for the kids and the food for the adults was of high standard. So glad they managed to fit us in. Would thoroughly recommend!

I really enjoyed this place They fitted us in when it was busy, I tried haggis for the first time and it was so good! I had it with the tatti and parsnip; highly recommend. Great bar service and I'm not sure if it's often, a certain day or a one off but we got 2 for 1 on all mains it was approx 6pm on a Saturday so great value

So much more reasonably priced than other restaurants in Fort William, but just as good!! Food was fantastic, they did forget about our dessert at the end but quickly remedied the issue. Definitely recommend this place.

Good place on a very nice pedestrian street in Fort William. Charming inside at Christmas time and with very nice waitresses. Very delicious fish. Price similar to the rest.

Good place to eat and good drinks

Wow! The food was amazing! Best steak and ale pie I’ve had in a long time, chicken burger cooked lovely and loved the onion rings, service was fantastic, lovely people, very friendly and happy, would definitely visit again.

So we went into this place.. I'll be honest I wasn't really expecting the portions to be as big as they was... But the starter I had was massive nachos with jelapenos cheese and salsa sour cream and guacamole.. Was really nice Mrs had garlic breaded mushrooms which she loved our main we had the chicken burger and a side of fries with a side salad was was absolutely lovely. Great service and a great atmosphere I recommend

Lovely spot for lunch . Haggis neeps and tatties. Done well.. well seasoned, got and a nice creamy whisky sauce on the side . Would recommend!👍 Staff friendly and nice too👍👍..will definitely visit again when next in the fort...

Up on business in the area and opted to eat at this restaurant both days. My wife decided she was not eating so ordered the salted caramel cheesecake, very plain. I ordered spicy chicken wings in a complementary sauce quite unique. Then I asked for penne carbonara with extra bacon extra cream. It came out with extra bacon but no extra cream disappointing. I asked for parmasan cheese which is complimentary in any other restaurant but the young girl brought out a small dish which was charged on the bill. Out came sticky toffee pudding then pushed for time we had to go leaving the follow up until the next day. Back for round two we had our usual waitress and picking up from where we left out the day before she sorted out the parmesan cheese for todays fare however there was a debate over the extra cream in y penne carbonara it would appear the chef could not do it which amazed me when 10000 other italian restaurants easily produce it along with the free parmasan cheese. I am very disappointed in the chef and as a result we will not be back.

Visited here at the weekend. Friendly staff and amazing food! They had Christmas themed drinks. Second visit here in a few years and would definitely visit again if I am near

Warm, friendly, and truly above and beyond! The staff were amazing—attentive and welcoming. The food was good: basic, well-made, and satisfying. The place is clean and gives off a sense of long-standing service in the area. I watched the staff interact, and it was clear they work well together, creating a great atmosphere. One lady even came in to tend to her child, and she was made to feel very welcome, which was heartwarming to see. Families, singles, and couples all seemed to enjoy the lovely atmosphere, and the 80s music added a nice nostalgic touch. Highly recommend! xx

Very good address if you come to Scotland

Best carbonara and garlic bread I have EVER had. Been hunting for a better one since to no avail. Staff was also very friendly

Food was good, we enjoyed the Steak & Ale pie and Nachos. The only confusing part was who was waiting on us. A lady seated us, the man behind the bar took our order, another person brought us our food, and we didn’t see anyone again until we were done. Then 2 different people took our dishes and took care of the bill. I would prefer 1 person consistently until done…but, the atmosphere was great and we enjoyed our meal.

My hubby and I recently had a delicious lunch whilst on a day trip to fort william. The staff where really friendly, attentive and professional. We both had cullen skink and it was delicious. The smoky fish and creamy soup was delicious. We will definitely be back again.

Friendly staff and excellent service

Really bad service. Ordered drink and food real quick. But first after 20 minutes, I got my Coke. And five minutes later the waiter came to ask what I had ordered of food, as he had forgot. No excuses, refunds, extra smile or other things to lighten the mistakes they did. And the food was not worth waiting so long for. (Total 35 minutes)

I would like to send Gordon Ramsay here. I didn't enjoy the food. I can just imagine what Gordon would say about the over cooked beef burger and pasta. On a positive note the young waitress gave us good service.

Very good. I loved the nachos, it was a lot as a starter. The main course was also very delicious. We tried the ale & steak pie and the green curry chicken. Both very delicious

I ate there the best of my entire holiday in Scotland 😘 I ate the kajun chicken and it was awesome. You definitely have to make a reservation otherwise you'll end up queuing for a really long time. But it's worth it.

This was a great place to eat. I had the steak and ale pie. Very filling, save room for dessert the bread pudding was delightful. The staff was very nice and polite, Even though they were very busy, we didn't wait long for our meals.

Totally wrong music, food received Luke warm and tasteless but my biggest complaint was being served by a lad chewing gum and blowing bubbles!

Don’t miss out on this place! I ordered the Haggis One Burger, it was over the top excellent, best I’ve ever had! It was topped with a Haggis fritter which was also excellent. The owner’s special creation. My previous experiences with Haggis are mixed but I loved this. My opinion, give it a try. My wife ordered the Pulled Pork Croquettes and our friends had a chicken pasta dish which they say was also excellent. Service was quick and attentive, the owner was very involved and quite fun. Overall, we were quite impressed and hope to return some day.

Once staff understood our plight of being pressed for time (we’re on a tour) they hussled for us. Super friendly and sympathetic. Food was wonderful. The cullen sk was super tasty. Thank you, Tavern.

Fantastic staff and service, ordered cullen skink as a starter and it came before my friends main courses so i asked if it could be reheated and served with my friends mains which they did and brought an extra portion to share, food was excellent and the owner took time to tell us about the staff and restaurant. Well done guys 💙

Inferior to the already mediocre Scottish standards (as "pub" cuisine; the restaurant is "other": and in fact we are talking about different prices). Terrible food and in laughable quantities, cooked so badly that the company canteen gets a Michelin star. Can we talk about a tourist trap? But also no, not even the natives present understand us much. Avoid for your own good.

Brilliant place, was almost not going to go in as it was small and looked busy, but chanced it and the girl serving got us a table, unfortunately I didn't get her name but she was the only blonde lady I seen serving, she was an absolute star, very friendly and was good to chat. The service was quick, hassle free and smooth, what a great team on the floor, the drinks were fresh and crisp, but the food... OMG, everything looked so clean, I had the Haggis, Neeps and Tatties whiskey sauce and I can honestly say it was the best meal I've had out in 5 years, for such a simple meal the taste was sublime, I could have eaten it twice. Hats off to the chefs those guys have talent. My partner equally enjoyed her meal. This is a busy spot with a constant flow of people wanting to eat here, when we were there they could have filled another room if they had it. If you're in Fort William and can get a table, you will not regret it. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Manager was fantastic! She helped my family of 5 get a seat when it was packed. We were starving so we were particularly grateful. Great service. Food was also tasty with a great kids meal!

Very good pub-style restaurant in the center of Fort William. Good music for the atmosphere. Food wise: wide choice of starters and dishes. We find the pub spirit with whole products and generous portions. The haggis starter is very good! (It was my first, so no comparison at this point). The waiters are very nice and, if you are not from the area, are interested in you (special mention to Alberto). I recommend! Ps: I went there at 4 p.m. after a hike. But apparently, if you want to come in the evening, it’s better to book!

Their fish and chips is truly excellent. The Haggis on Potato skins was a great starter. The Cullin Skink was really flavorful and creamy but too much so. We had a short wait as it was high season. The staff was fast and friendly.

Served quickly even though they were busy food was tasty and good value.

In this restaurant they care about serving you if you have any special needs such as an allergy, they pay attention to giving you the best service and there are two very nice Spaniards who will brighten your evening.

Menu items listed on the sandwich board outside were not available. Maybe use your chalk eraser? Head server was totally aloof. We got up and left. No wonder the place was empty when the Ben Nevis restaurant across High St was packed. That should've been our first clue .... Live and learn.

We went to dinner at the Tavern 3 times during our trip to Fort William! The price is great, the service is courteous and the typical Scottish food is there. The cocktails are also excellent. Relaxed and efficient, I recommend it!

Very nice pub, good atmosphere, staff and music. We took two ''Pie'' which we found to be truly excellent, it's like beef in sauce. The burgers were also great as you can see in the background. The cider was good too. I would go back!

What an amazing little place! Catriona and the other member of staff were amazing. Even though the place was very busy we were seen to at the most perfect times. We were kept topped up and they gave the best recommendations. I tried most of the cocktails which were absolutely out of this world - special mention to the Tavern Berry press. Great food, drinks & service. Everyone chose something different & finished their plates. And the desserts were fabulous. If we lived in Scotland, we would definitely go back.

- very welcoming staff and quick in service - ordered Thai green Cary. It was okay. Very simple and not as expected. The spices were not very strong to as the name mentioned Thai. WiFi was available and fast. Overall, good.

Stopped in for a late lunch - bowl of Cullen skink each and a bowl of chips to get us through to dinner. Very efficient service. The soup was full of smoked haddock but slightly thin and well seasoned. Can't go wrong with chips.

It was very busy, we were lucky to get a table by the door. Traditional well cooked food, we were pleased with our choices. Good portion size and reasonable prices. Staff friendly, very accommodating and patient considering how busy it was. Our only moan would be the queue at the door, my husband had his back to the door and he felt crowded and uncomfortable by the diners waiting for a table. But definitely recommend the food..

This place offered the worst service and was underwhelming overall. We had to wait for someone to seat us at the front door for quite a while - how about seat us at the bar while we wait. Finally when seated no one came to ask us if we would like a drink, I went to the bar to get one myself and the barman totally igored me and then after waiting ten mins the waiitress told me it was table service. She then went on to admonish me for ordering my food before before my daughter ordered her drink, which I did because I knew she did not want one. Our meals did not arrive at the same time, so two of us are eating our meal before the last pesons meal arrived. I ordered a house wine and they served me a large without asking me. But it was just the overall attitude of the one waitress implying that we should feel fortunate we got a table at this place as they were busy, while one waiter basically stood around doing nothing. Before you start seating the next people, serve the ones that are already there and be polite. Food average, but it was the waitresses attitude that really was too much. Would not go back.

One of the worst, if not the worst burger of my life. To start, you have to pay a mere £3.50 for fries. I'm French, and I've never seen this. The bread was dry, the burger was without sauce, no salad or tomato and the worst part is this “meat”. The servers don't ask for cooking, it's burnt and it's frozen! Truly despicable. Positive point: the cheesecake is good.

Walked in with no reservation but seated straight away. The server was very attentive and was quick with service. The food was very good and well priced. Recommended and will certainly return.

Fun, fun pub. The owner was our server and could not have been more attentive. Their fresh salmon with the daily vegetables of snow peas and carrot with mashed potatoes. Excellent. Nice bar with lots of beer choices.

A pleasant place to have a meal

I'm a french mountain guide and came with two different groups (4 people and 7 people) to have dinner. Food is good, service is quick and kind, atmosphere is nice. What else ? 🙂

Nothing terrible but nothing special either. Quite expensive for portions on the smaller side. You won't probably regret eating here but unlikely to remember it either

Had a small wait but the servers were nice. Very small place but had good food. I will say the prices are quite expensive though for what you get compared to other local places like the one down the way a bit that starts with a C.

It was a good place to get some food while traveling. Nothing was really special, but I can't complain, too.

Came in late for dinner during a bank holiday weekend and they accepted us when no one else would! The food was authentic and delicious. The service was friendly and accommodating. They are busy but will get you in and out quickly. We had such a great evening that we came back again the next night!
