The Corriegarth Hotel in Highland

Just faultless. We were a table of 12 that were kindly accommodated at relatively short notice. Everyone in our party raved about the food, and the service was second to none. Our new go to in Inverness.

From the moment we walked in and ordered our first drink at the bar we were greeted by a very rude bar person (female, brown hair for the hotels info) she was extremely abrupt and rude whilst trying to act smug. (It doesn't look good on you) We had fish and chips which could have been lovely but the chips were cold. Wasn't even busy with food. Don't treat customers well at all and the manager is as least unprofessional.

Amazing. Food fabulous and service fab. Wafs a group of 14 and everything was just just perfect. Staff were fab couldn't do enough for you. Would highly recommend

From checking in to leaving Jenny was on the ball .. and was the same with every customer . Our 3 dogs were spoilt by Jenny she had time for everyone Food was amazing Evening staff just as amazing thanks for a lovely experience xx Rooms were great 👍

Went for Sunday lunch and was so disappointed by the food the beef was overcooked, fatty and very chewy, the vegetables etc were very cold. We did not want to say anything to the staff as they were too busy having conversations with obvious locals who looked like they would back up the staff. Not a nice atmosphere!

Friendly staff, comfortable feather duvet, perfectly timed breakfast, and fun local style bar. The Corriegarth's staff went above and beyond! The bartender gave me good advice about getting around in Inverness and didn't get annoyed with my hundred questions.

Great Hotel very dog friendly It’s a locals pub who like all the Scott’s are friendly and keen to talk On our way to Inverness we were discussing where to eat as we didn’t want Chips chips and more chips usual Pub fare When we checked the menu it was a far cry from the usual pub grub I had the fish chowder which was delicious creamy and lovely the Wife had the Salmon with new potatoes and veg which was also delicious The staff are great very upbeat and happy to help everywhere was nice and clean It’s a great place to start our trip And breakfast is looking good

Hotel looks charming from the outside and is in a convenient location in bustling Inverness. But the rooms are very dated and the bed felt very worn. Noise from the bar lasted well past midnight and we felt quite sleep deprived the morning after our stay.

We got a small room…didn’t need much as we spent our entire time out and about on tours, eating, and taking in the sights. The staff was very kind and helpful. The hotel bar kept me well hydrated with affordable pours of scotch and a cozy atmosphere. The area around seems quite residential, but a ten minute walk from everything is just fine. Would stay again.

Was there to celebrate a lovely couple's wedding day. The meal was absolutely 100% delicious and tasty. The service was varied but helpful and friendly staff.

Cute place to stay, very short distance from main parts of town. The pub portion is adorable! Paul is the best! He made great recommendations and has such friendly service

We (3) dropped in to this restaurant shortly before 7.30 pm on a Monday night; we had not made a reservation. The manager said it would be 30-45 minutes before we could be served. We were prepared to wait and he gave us a menu. Shortly afterwards he suggested we have a drink while we waited, so we did. After a while, I went to him to tell him which mains we would like. He said it would be better to wait until they were ready to serve us - "another 5 minutes". I persuaded him to take note of our choices. Time passed....I wondered if we should try somewhere else, but one of our party is not very mobile, and we don't know Inverness. A group of 5 or 6 men seemed to be waiting for their meals on the same basis. At 8.55 pm , an hour and a half after we first entered, our food arrived. The waitress apologised for the delay (the longest I have ever experienced in any eatery!). The manager also apologised, but said he did warn us there would be a delay. I suggested that he could have been more honest -- there's a big difference between waiting 30 - 45 minutes and 90 minutes. Perhaps out of embarrassment, he deducted the price of one main course from the bill. We didn't have any enthusiasm for more than one course. Rating: 2/5 We did get an apology, and the main ingredient in our meal was hot and well cooked, though the accompanying ingredients were rather miserly.

I hate to say anything bad about a place but..... Although we had booked a table and were seated promptly, they didn't take our food order for about 45 minutes. The place was clearly a local hangout so my family and I kind of stuck out. The cook's family seemed to be visiting that night as he left the kitchen area a few times to sit and talk with them. The food was mediocre. Overall the service was rather slow. There were two young ladies running the front including tending bar, taking and serving food orders, busing tables, completing transactions, etc. They seemed a bit frazzled by it all.

Rating is for the bar only. Good choice of beers, good service, nice atmosphere, simply a really nice place to relax and have a drink.

Most enjoyable fish and chips, and so pleased to a choice of small or large portion. We had one of each! Lovely home made chips. Very attentive manager and staff. Nice ambience, and they are dog friendly too ! Very reasonably priced. In the colder months they have a very welcoming wood burning stove. Do pop in if you are in the area, you won't be disapponted.

Overnight stay in Inverness, slight confusion with checking in, a little slow and was sent to a room which had not been cleaned, however this was quickly rectified and our room was lovely, clean and comfortable. We wanted a curry so dined out and it is steep walk back from town but thr bar was very nice on our return. Slept very well and breakfast was great so no complaints

In for dinner on a Sunday. Plenty folk in, but not packed, we'd pre booked and were seated promptly, drinks orders taken. Food orders taken and delivered promptly and accurately. Food was piping hot, very tasty and server was attentive for drink top ups etc all night. Been in a few times and found the service and food to be very consistent.

Stopped in for a quick dinner. Local pub with great fish and chips and beer! Service was fast and pleasant!

Really good hotel with a homely feel and an authentic pub at the bottom. They serve the best pub food in Scotland with a semi gourmet twist and fantastic taste. The rooms were clean. The wifi unfortunately doesn’t work very well…

The Hotel was cozy and had a lot of charme. The rooms are very very small and a little old but it was clean. The Bar downstairs was nice. We went there for drinks.

Very sweet little place, clean and quiet with a great restaurant downstairs. I do wish they leaned more into their B&B aesthetic in their rooms, as they are very beige and simple.

The staff were lovely, friendly and very efficient. Lovely room and very comfortable bed with tea making facilities. The locals in the bar were so nice and friendly; one of them (Calum) insisted we have a drink on his tab as a welcome to Inverness! The food, (especially breakfast ) was excellently presented and portions more than adequet for our apetites. This is our third visit to the Inverness and the Corriegarth and won´t be the last!

Delicious meal enjoyed by all 3 adults and child! Great service and staff who all looked after us very well. Haven’t been here for a while for a meal and live away from Inverness, but will be back again when I can- thank you!

We booked into the corriegarth for a 50th lunch / early dinner . What a fabulous place - great service , food was amazing and staff very helpful , it was nicely decorated and perfect location for us with only a short walk into town .

Food was delicious and staff friendly definitely stay here again also dog friendly

BEWARE! I arrived at the Corriegarth at approx. 7pm, having driven 300 miles that day and in need of a hearty evening meal, only to be told on arrival that they had no staff for the restaurant that evening. I then asked could I have breakfast the next morning at 7.15 am and was told that would not be a problem. When I got to my room I read the hotel's instruction leaflet which stated that breakfast would be served from 8am onwards, I went down and spoke with the same member of staff and said I was happy to wait for breakfast at 8am. Unfortunately no one turned up to cook breakfast! Later that day I said that I was disappointed that no one was there to do breakfast and I was told it was a communication error, I asked was breakfast available the following morning and the member of staff said yes, would 8am be ok, I said fine. AGAIN, no one turned up. This had been a credit card booking and as no one was there to see me on my way I will no doubt be charged the full amount which had included two breakfasts! Good luck with your stay here :-(

Very poor experience at the Corriegarth Hotel. The heating in the room was not working while it was in the minus temperatures outside, as a result of which I slept very poorly. I woke up the next morning with plans for the day ahead, which unfortunately I had to move around as a result of the chef not turning up for the breakfast service. I waited an hour and a half until 9.30am and still, there were no signs of breakfast, so I left to rearrange my plans. As a result of waiting, I missed my transport and had to spend another £40 on a private hire taxi to take me to Loch Ness. I had to email and call the hotel on 6 occasions in total to get a measly £10 refund. No offer to cover my additional costs, and one member of staff on the phone line was incredibly unprofessional - poor English skills and was heard talking out loud about me to her colleagues. Do not stay here, it's a lovely old coaching inn and the bar manager, I have to give it to him, was incredibly sympathetic to my experience in the morning. But it's just not worth it when you can get better customer service for your money elsewhere. Really ruined my holiday.

Visited a few times, great service, nice warm and friendly atmosphere here. We ordered lots of starters for a tapas type share and it was all very nice, will return again. Thanks for the great service.

Great service, friendly bar staff. Had the haddock and chips which was the best fish and chips I've ever had, massive portion Tirimasu for desert, amazing home made quality 👌 Fantastic place for a drink or a meal, or both !

The staff here were really friendly, and they had given us a free upgrade on the room - the location is great and the building is nice. Unfortunately the hotel room we received was very unclean - there was broken glass on the carpet, the water cup had a dried up contact lens from the previous guest, and the toilet had not been cleaned. I picked up the larger pieces of glass immediately not wanting to accidentally hurt myself and then we informed them about the room. They did go up to clean but did not thoroughly vacuum as there was still small pieces of glass in the carpet and the glass was still there with the contact lens in it. Also when pulling the covers off the bed we found a finger/toe nail - which I’m hoping was just from staff putting new sheets on. I was extremely disappointed especially after reading all the excellent reviews.

Had a great night celebrating an 80th birthday ..there was a large group of us and service was excellent as was the food thankyou John and team

A lovely pub and a good pint of Heiniken. Food was OK but took a long time to get starters. Nothing to write home about. Should be much better

We found the Corriegarth quite by chance and were very glad we did! Excellent service from our waitress and delicious food, the children’s meals were a good portion size, and our meals were superb. We would highly recommend the Corriegarth to families.

We booked a small double room and it was smaller than small, the bathroom was the same. The key handover done in the bar so you have to wait while everyone in the pub is being served. The place is dingy and noisy into the early hours. The bathroom hand held shower was taped up to the riser bar so there was no manover with it and the water direction was up the wall so having a shower was not an easy task. We didnt stay for food as we didnt feel welcome and to be honest we were glad to leave.

We had drinks twice in the pub, and ate once; good food, friendly service. A good option in the area, with sports on the TVs.

The hotel is a short walk from the city center. The breakfast was excellent and the staff were very friendly. The room was surprisingly spacious and very comfortable. Highly recommend

I have eaten and drunk in this pub for many many years and the present staff under the Bar manager John are the best group I have ever seen. Friendly and helpful, always happy to to go that extra little bit to ensure everyone is having a good time and nobody has an empty glass. Well done the Corry.

Absolutely delicious meal with 3 friends. Great choice of food. We all ordered different meals. All 4 were outstanding. Very friendly staff. Definitely will be going back.

Booked for a week in December for my partners birthday. First two nights broken towel rail. Moved rooms (kindly) to now be faced with no hot water. Yep. In December. To add insult to injury they don’t seem to care about either factors and the customer experience we have received is Atrocious. I wouldn’t wish this accommodation on an enemy. Stained sheets and carpets too- photo evidence available.

I visited with a friend after a lovely afternoon out, we thought we would grab some dinner and haven't visited the corriegarth for many years so thought we would give it a go. We were served by a lovely girl who seated us and took our orders, the chicken I received was undercooked it was still pink in the middle, I discretely spoke with the waitress not to make a fuss and just asked if it could be cooked a bit more, I wasn't bothered about receiving a full fresh meal, it came back out 2 seconds later still the same, I left it at that but wasn't happy about eating it, it was undercooked and my friend certainly agreed the buns our burgers were on were very hard and dry also and my friend could finish her meal. When we went to pay I was asked if everything was ok which I replied that I couldn't eat my chicken burger, the gentleman's response was he disagreed which he told me twice and told me the chicken was moist! The chicken was undercooked and still pink in the centre, I was not eating it and having cooked chicken all my life I know what the difference is between moist and undercooked, unfortunately the way I was spoken to was more irritating than not being able to eat my food, the meal was discounted but poor manner of the male behind the bar (he looked like he may have been the manager) basically calling me a liar was what bothered me. I won't be returning here for food again.

Loved this restaurant. Had the same meal on different nights it was that good. And good prices.

Meal at Corriegarth was very good,food was nicely presented,nice sized portions.Waitress who attended to us was excellent,found out the various concerns we had regarding various food allergies and vegetarian queries.Nothing was too much bother for her.Many other hospitality places could learn something from her.Well done.

Love this place. I suspect that it is where the locals have their drinks/meals. The hotel was so close to our holiday home so very handy on way home for night cap. Well staffed and they were knowledgeable about the menu. Good Covid-19 measures in place and very reasonable prices for food/drinks. Dinner we had on one night was very good standard wise.

Food was excellent. Menu choice varied and all cooked well and served in good time. Not so keen on having TV screens in the dining area. Too many noisy drinkers which was a great shame. However, the food was so good we may go back later on a week night when it should be quieter.

We had dinner here last weekend, it was very good the previous visit but unfortunately this time it was very average. Everything was well enough cooked but really lacking flavour, very bland. Service was good.

My room reviews are based on my 150+ nights spent in Hotels and Pubs with rooms over the last 5 years. We stayed here one night in June 2021, the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was fairly basic, for a DELUXE Room but spotlessly clean and the bathroom looked as though it had been recently re-decorated. This is a Pub with rooms and it is quite noisy late into the evening. The cooked breakfast was very good, 5 stars!

had a drink here and decided to book for dinner. well above average bar food. portions plentiful and everything well cooked. staff were very friendly as well. Hubby had the steak and i had macaroni (love it) unfortunately had no room for desserts.

Poor start but manager and staff made up for it. Steak pie was amazing...

Not great service had to wait over ten minutes for all the starters to arrive and the last start which was soup was cold . I ordered a steak and most of it was fat not really tasty . Went to order pudding which we were then told that they didn't have the pudding that we order so we ordered cheese cake which took along time to come but when I was out having a cigarette as we were waiting for our pudding I seen the a member of staff coming back from the shops with the cheesecake that we had order . Not good service definitely won't be going back

Billy made the night fantastic, his service was great and he was an all round lovely human, him serving us made the evening special as he made a personalised connection with his guests just a stand up experience...

We ate at this restaurant and how we regretted it. On entering the restaurant we should have known and turned and found somewhere else to eat. The first chair my husband sat in had a broken arm, the second one was only slightly better. The table was wobbly, and when he asked for some beer mats to stabilise it, he was handed them to do it himself! They were using the window as a bar which was open all the time. We ordered soft drinks and were given the wrong kind, and when we pointed this out were told they didn't have what we'd asked for. We ordered our food and whilst it was ok, that was as good as I could offer as a comment. When it came to payment, the card reader didn't work, then it did but they couldn't provide a receipt. The servers all seemed uninterested in the clientele in the dining area. I would not recommend this restaurant and would definitely not return.

Staff are so friendly and helpful, nothing is to much for them to do for you and Food is excellent!! Although we are going through Covid restrictions staff are on top of it making sure everyone is safe ... well done Corrigarth team. Our stay was very very enjoyable will definitely be coming back

I went to The Corriegarth during a mid-week break to Inverness ( which at the Start of May 2021 was snowing !! ) and had a great meal. The service was very good, food was great &not expensive.As others have found with COVID-19 situation, all areas were well covered within the premises, from hand sanitisers to contact details , which was good.I woudl recommend - better priced than my own Hotel that I stayed in ( and the food was better )Gave 5 Stars for Food , Service and Value .

Among the best food I have had in Inverness. Haggis bonbons with lemon marmalade is a combination I would never have thought of but it worked perfectly. My steak was charred and bursting with umami flavour but cut like butter. And the chocolate fudge cake was everything it should have been. A delight from start to finish.

I know its not a great review, was not wanting to put down on this that i got food poisoning from when I did dine with yous back then

they are obeying the govt regulations which is a good thing but i think they are being over zealous, the covid has caused chaos but the staff have wasted a good friendly bar.
