Brilliant food and brilliant staff. Really accommodating and a big thanks for sorting me and my partner out for our lunch on Sunday 12th January as we know you had a big event happening on that day. Really appreciated and will definitely be popping back again for food. Even better that we were allowed in with our three dogs. If anyone stops in Carrbridge and reads this, you will not be disappointed with this place. I was in for lunch on the Sunday and had dinner on the Monday. My partner had the salmon starter and I had the haggis bon bons. No complaints. Lunch was chicken and leek pie for both. Monday night we had the cajun chicken burger and sirloin steak. No complaints on any of the food and serves a good pint.

Yes! A++ Highly recommend! Service staff is professional, friendly, welcoming. Food is ON POINT! Atmosphere (pet friendly) and fireplace is remarkable!! Patrons are friendly, you simply cannot go wrong choosing this place. Parking is nearby, MUST GO. First night in Scotland on vacation, and the live Scottish folk music was amazing. Had so much fun I didn't want to leave! This is my wife and I GO-TO every night to wind down the night before the hotel. Next time we are booking here!

Technically I didn’t stay here. I had a booking but on the day I was due to arrive the manager called to say they’d had a flood and the room was out of use. Thinking the worst, I was delighted that he offered to find an alternative place for me to stay, convenient for where I was travelling from and even to cover the excess cost. So I can’t comment on the rooms, the food or the location, but the service is excellent and I’d definitely book the next time I’m in the area.

Carrbridge is small village but this hotel restaurant served wonderfool meal. Salmon/Haggis Lasagne and freshly cooked breakfast was wonderful. Pub(restaurant) was crowded by local residents but staff services were quick and friendly. Hotel room has only minimum facility but enough for good sleeping.

It’s really unfortunate to be writing this and providing such a poor rating. The restaurant was recommended by a Carrbridge local. We were the first to take seats in the restaurant area (there’s a separate bar), sitting down at 17.00. We were told that orders wouldn’t be taken until 17.30 which was fine and we ordered drinks for us and our little one. We were then informed they were catering for a Townhall elsewhere in town, so ordered wouldn’t be taken until 17.45. At 18.00, after other tables who arrived after us had had their ordered taken, ours was. Starters did arrive quickly, by 18.15 - haggis bon bons were pretty tasteless and £8+ for three (you get more in Edinburgh). The smoked salmon on crouton was average. Our mains then arrived at 18.55 - a forty minute wait. We weren’t alone in this - others who had ordered mains and no starters were still waiting for theirs. The kids’ chicken goujons were pretty bad - the batter was falling off of them. The chicken and leek pie filling was overdone and the sauce (of which there was little) was lacking flavour. The pastry was good, as were the curly fries (a nice highlight as we hadn’t had them for ages!) The monkfish main was delicious, accompanied by onion rings on the side which were also top notch. We wanted dessert but by the time we finished it was almost bed time for the little guy so had to leave. Lots of potential here. Service friendly and accommodating but the wait time really ruined the whole experience.

For the mussels starter alone, the bar food must be given 5 stars, followed by a venison burger, which didn't disappoint.. The only disappointing thing was 'frozen' chips, but it must be pointed out that just about everywhere serves frozen chips these days (Please correct me if I'm wrong 🙂)

Stayed overnight for work in Inverness next morning. Easy half hour drive in the morning. Didn't have dinner as I had work to do - excellent wi-fi and lots of sockets for devices. Bed was lovely and clean - and huge. Great shower. Lots of coffee/tea/milk etc. Lots of space in the room. Plenty car parking at the rear. I have an electric car so charged up in Kingussie on way up and topped up in Inverness. Local shop. The beautiful Pack Horse bridge dating back to 1700s is right there! Would definitely recommend. The only issue with the room was that some TV channels dropped out but other channels were working. The breakfast was delicious - would recommend the black pudding and sausage - excellent. Plenty tea/coffee/toast and everything cooked to order. Lovely staff, friendly, warm welcome - will definitely be back. Thank you.

Nestled in the picturesque Highland village of Carrbridge, the Cairn Hotel is a lovely place to stop for a hearty pub lunch/dinner. The staff are so kind and welcoming that you'll feel you've been coming here for years and enjoying a pint next to the open fire place will make you feel cosy and snug whatever the time of year. It also has a pool table that doesn't cost the Earth to play on (a rarity in this day and age). The location is lovely to as you step out onto the main street and take a 30 second wander to the old bridge or stop in after a round of golf at the nearby course. I can't comment on the rooms as we only came for dinner, but we would definitely come back.

We walked in to the Cairn and were greeted by friendly staff, they explained they were super busy as it was Saturday night and a table would be around an hours. We waited in the bar area enjoying the lively bar scene and some drinks before being taken through to our table in the restaurant. The restaurant was pleasantly lit with a dim atmosphere and the menu was small but had a great selection of starters, mains and puddings. The food was exceptional and staff were friendly and attentive. I would highly recommend the Cairn for anyone looking to eat out in a nicer place although the price was slightly higher it was worth the price. The only thing is booking is unavailable so a wait is excepted for a table if in a rush I would not recommend or having an alternative back up arranged.

To start off, it's a pleasant old pub and the front of house staff were absolutely lovely. I stopped by because I read all the great reviews saying how amazing the food was, and sadly, I left extremely disappointed. I paid £16 for a steak and ale pie that had clearly been cooked in a microwave - indeed, the fact that it was served less than five minutes after I ordered should have been a giveaway. The meat was dry and bland, the gravy watery and similarly flavourless, and the pastry was clearly store-bought and microwaved with the rest of the dish. The chips were also blatantly cheap store-bought fries. This surely reflects either an owner trying to cut costs or a chef who simply cannot be bothered. Unfortunately, I won't be eating here again

We have passed this pub many times and always intended to visit sometime. This time we did, food was good, hot and well presented. BUT, the service let them down, long waits for someone to appear and then longer wait for food. After two hours we decided to leave after main course plates not cleared after 15 mins. Did want a pud, but we were fed up of waiting.....but then couldn't ask anyone for our bill, as the solitary person serving had disappeared! It was explained that they only had one chef that night.....but chefs don't clear tables. We'll not go again

Hier findet jeder etwas nach seinem Geschmack. Einige traditionelle Gerichte werden auch modern interpretiert. Insgesamt schmeckt das Essen recht gut.

We’ve been here for a drink a couple of times & thought we’d try eating here as it gets good reviews Called to book and was told that wasn’t necessary and not a problem as we would get a table even if busy it would be a short wait, they only take bookings for tables of 6 or more Travelled up there tonight …. Heaving ! No chance of a table & no idea how long we’d have to wait …ok we’ll leave ….. she called after us maybe 45 minutes but no guarantees, we decided to wait & went to sit at a recently vacated table outside only to be told we couldn’t as there was a queue of people waiting! So the suggestion was we had to stand on the pavement outside, on the main road for 45 minutes? I don’t think so !! Very poor show Cairn Hotel & we certainly won’t be back & friends we’re awaiting out our feedback … that’s simple …. To be avoided

Lovely pub, very welcoming and attentive staff, good menu. We all picked something different off the menu and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals, I had to leave some of mine (Sunday roast) as I couldn't finish it. Everything is locally sourced where they can and bread is homemade for the Focaccia starter, (can't comment on other breads). The pub itself is lovely with a log burner and logs stacked on the side, would be lovely and cosy in winter, there are plenty tables outside but we opted for eating inside. We will be back.

We only stopped here because there was nothing else open in the vicinity, that was a mistake, we should have continued to Inverness. The whole place is in need of renovation and the toilets are not the cleanest considering where we are at the moment....

Food quality quite okay. Haggis starter was good! The classic burgers less so. A little too greasy, too salty, too much. Staff are friendly. The pub itself could use an update. Price was on the high side for what you get.
