Loch Ness Clansman Hotel in Highland

Wow! We felt like royalty here. Booked a room for 3 people and got an entire cabin overlooking Loch Ness to ourselves. Plenty of bed space in multiple different rooms, two updated bathrooms including a tub with jets, a living space with a ridiculously large TV, great views of the water, and a full kitchen. Cafe inside main lodge was quite nice as well. Only negative was that the water pressure in the shower was abysmal. Would absolutely stay here again if ever in the area.

Loved this place. The food was amazing, the room was warm and cozy, and the staff was super nice.

Fantastic location on Loch Ness at the cruise jetty. Rooms are far too small but dining room views are OUTSTANDING

The Clansman is a lovely hotel situated on the banks of Loch Ness with a stunning view from the restaurant and bar which will blow you away on a sunny day. The staff are very helpful and attentative and the rooms are finished to a pleasingly modern standard. You most definitely get good value for money at this hotel. The only downfall of the hotel was what appeared to be a small amount of mould on the curtains and some cracked plaster on the walls which was a bit disheartening, but otherwise a lovely place to stay.

I only used the bar during a day tour to Lochness, friendly staff, welcoming environment, local beer and one of the few good coffees (for us Italians) in Scotland.

It is amazing, nice personal, great location with view, good breakfast, enough parking spots, clean rooms. I did not find anything wrong

Excellent, location just beautiful,views of the Loch easy access to boat trips and to visit other places,staff amazing couldn't do enough,left with boxed fruit and snacks ,brew from breakfast as long journey ahead,food excellent,room clean and fresh,staff even helped us plan trips, can't praise this hotel enough,one of the most pleasant welcoming places I've ever stayed,well done Clansman,get it booked.

The only hotel in such a nice location (on the very shore) on Loch Ness Lake. If you've never spotted a shore monster, the hotel offers its own lake tours from the marina just a few steps away. Very good food and drinks. Great atmosphere and nice service. Clean, nice rooms with beautiful views of the lake.

Did the Loch Ness tour..would recommend if visiting the area. Lovely local artist as you enter the Hotel and highly recommend buying some pics

Stopped here on bus tour waiting on ferry. Had time for lunch. I had lovely tomato and lentil soup served with a crusty roll. Perfect on a cold day. Other had fish and chips. You can have a coffee or a wine as it’s licensed for alcohol as well. Spacious dining area with lovely view of loch. Fabulous gift shop as well.

Po príchode do hotela sme zistili, že napriek rezervácii sme nemali izby v hlavnej budove. Ďalší šok bol, že večer nefungovala reštaurácia. Izbu sme napokon mali vo vedľajšej budove, bola malá, nebol ani priestor na odloženie vecí a kufra. Raňajky boli výborné v reštaurácii s výhľadom na jazero Loch Ness.

We were part of a bus tour that stopped at this restaurant for lunch and to board the cruise to Urquhart Castle and will definitely never be back. The toilets were not clean and we had to wait in a queue on the stairwell for 30 minutes only to be told that they had a very limited menu as one of the chefs was off and there would be a further delay in getting the food. The staff were quite abrupt with the foreign tourists and I felt that the tourists didn’t understand the situation. Most of us were going on the cruise and didn’t have that amount of time to continue waiting therefore had to miss lunch. It is tourism that this hotel, restaurant and gift shop depend on and therefore necessary to make a good impression on all of their customers.

Restaurante con vistas al lago Ness. Servicio rápido pero local ruidoso. La sopa del día estaba buena pero el pescado no tanto. Era fresco pero el rebozado excesivo, y grasiento.

The lamb stovie was mostly dry and heavy on the potatoes and not much else. The salt caramel cake was dry and required lots of water to get it down. The view is great and the staff was very friendly. Looking around at other people’s food, I wasn’t impressed.

We stayed in this hotel during a 2 day stay on Loch Ness and ate in the restaurant both nights. Although the menu was not extensive they offered a good variety of options and everything was delicious. Special thanks to Harriet who served us both nights and worked exceedingly hard to ensure everything was perfect.

Went there doing a trip to loch Ness. Had lunch and it was ok. The food was as expected. The service was fine and the view was great.

We arrived about 13:45 hoping to have some food After we had chosen what we wanted we were bluntly informed at the counter that the chef had decided to close the kitchen as it was too busy and needed a “reset” I asked if any chips were available and was told no We had traveled an hour and 40 minutes and were very surprised and a bit upset of this decision I had checked the website before leaving it clearly says that food is served all day This is not what I expected from a hotel based in a location that is known worldwide you would expect it to be fully customer facing at any time of the day. Would like to think the web site would dictate opening times not a chef who is busy

We had the most delicious dinner here. The staff was so nice. We had a pasta dish with yummy peas, scallops....everything was cooked to perfection

The best things about this hotel are - The staff, all are lovely & friendly, nothing too much trouble. - The view, perfect - The restaurant, the food here is great. We both had the roast beef & Yorkshire pudding etc as it was Sunday & fish n chips the following day. The worst part for us was the tiny bedroom with a cupboard like shower room off. Not only was it small it didn’t feel as though the bed was properly clean. Stains on the pillow cases & the headboard & stool in the room (which we used to store the towels on as no room in the shower room) were very shabby looking. We are used to a king size bed so neither of us got a good nights sleep. Come on Clansman pull your socks up, I’m sure it wouldn’t take much to improve the facilities here, otherwise it could & would be a marvellous place to stay.

This is a cheap hotel, more of a motel really, with a cheap feel to the rooms, which are noisy as they face onto a busy road and have paper thin walls. The food in the restaurant was adequate but not of great quality. It didn’t help that we had a car parked outside our room whose alarm kept going off throughout the night. I’m surprised they don’t take our car registration details at check-in. This would have helped identify the owner. However, on the plus side, the staff were all friendly and the wine list was surprisingly good and inexpensive. It’s fair value and we were only staying there because British Airways cancelled our flight and we needed to stay an extra night at short notice.

We booked it as a last minute stay on our trip around Scotland, we noticed that the check in was set to close at 8 but we called and they couldn’t have been nicer. Stayed open extra to help us and quickly got us some dinner before the kitchen was to close. One of the best dinners too we’ve had as well. However the room was a big let down. Extremely hard bed to sleep in. I woke up with a very sore back. The shower as well didn’t drain and had very low water pressure. I would definitely stop by for a bite to eat but would never stay there over night.

Excellent food and service - we had Cullen Skink and an amazing sandwich, there were some delicious looking cakes but we were too full. Fabulous views and well priced.highly recommend

In theory a pleasant view of the loch, but its a busy, tourist filled spot with folks buzzing around the tacky gift shop, photographing next to a nessie model that there are restrictive rules about touching - basically, not my sort of place.

We had a lovely stay here in August even covid restrictions were made quite easy. Food was excellent .

Stopped here for some cakes and coffee. Very good Covid precautions with QR code track and trace system. Very good service with nice view over the Loch. Reasonable prices and free parking too.

Delicious food and great service. Well worth a visit. Food was amazing, I had homemade soup then steak pie which were both excellent. My husband had goats cheese tart then lamb casserole which he raved about. Very generous portions and really tasty.

Visitamos hoy mientras recorríamos el lago Ness, nos sentamos afuera ya que teníamos a los perros con nosotros, se estaban siguiendo las medidas de COVID y nos sentimos perfectamente seguros dentro y fuera del edificio. La comida era deliciosa, las camareras eran muy amables y el pastel era increíble. Buenos precios y sin duda volvería.

We both decided on the salmon ballottine, delicious and beautifully presented. Desserts were wonderful, mine was pear frangipane tart with ice cream, my husband's sticky toffee pudding. The staff were very attentive, all tables beautifully laid and a lovely view over Loch Ness with a long wall mirror opposite the window so fellow guests missed nothing of the view

Great local fare, nice variety on the menu and staff very friendly. Anu, the Deputy Manager was especially helpful.

Seule adresse ouverte à proximité de notre hôtel voisin qui nous l'a recommandé, nous avons poussé la porte de ce restaurant sans trop savoir où nous allions et nous n'avons pas été déçus parce que les plats sont bons, bien présentés, dans un cadre agréable et avec une vue sympa sur le Loch Ness.

Tried to have lunch but it would take 30 minutes before they cleaned the tables from one busload to another, but as we just ordered cold starter they helped us. THe starter was ok

had breakfast for a few mornings, porridge was insipid and uninspiring, the cooked offering ok but wasn't something I would have to return for. Shame the floor was dirty with crumbs and food debris.

Eine Nacht auf unserer Schottlandreise verbrachten wir hier. Das Hotel hat einen Zugang direkt zum See. Essen kann man hier gut und relativ günstig. Die Zimmer sind eher klein und einfach. Da auch ein Souvenirshop im Hotel und eine Bootsanlegestelle direkt davor ist gibt es sehr viele Tagestouristen die in Bussen hergebracht werden.

We stayed at the Clansman because of its location right on the Loch. The rooms were clean and nice, not fancy. The restaurant was excellent as was the lounge. The gift shop has everything you can imagine that has to do with Nessie.

The Clansman served excellent food with very good service. The free transport to and from the hotel was the icing on the cake and the views of Loch Ness were stunning.

I visited due to the location overlooking Loch Ness, which would be a highlight. Unfortunately it was dark by the time I arrived so I missed the view, which meant I had to focus on the food. The seafood platter was just a pile or random stuff loaded up on a plate with little thought. Some of the fish had bones so I couldn’t eat it and there were loads of things like smoked salmon - of which a normal person simply cant eat such quantities. Disappointing.

Visited during a stay in Drumnadrochit. My kids (10 + 7) had mac cheese and nessy bites (fish) and both thoroughly enjoyed their meal. My wife and I both had rump steaks. Service and the food both excellent. It was quiet when we arrived (6.30) but soon started filling up so I recommend booking first. Views across the Loch are excellent and helped by the fact the restaurant is on the first floor, so a nice elevated view. No problem recommending for an evening meal.

We visited the restaurant and bar 3 times for dinner during our stay nearby. Staff were extremely friendly, efficient and helpful. Menu was limited but covered every taste, produce was locally sourced and of good quality. The chef was able to easily accommodate my dairy allergy and made me tasty meals from the menu and just tweaked to avoid any dairy. The Loch Ness lager was extremely good! Prices fair. Would recommend for a homely, child friendly restaurant

We stopped in here for a rest and some lunch, during our drive from Fort William to the Moray Peninsular.

After a 2 hour cruise on Loch Ness, with a brisk chilly wind blowing we landed with the Clansman Hotel before us. Rather than go to the next stop we decided to eat here. We opted for the restaurant instead of the cafe which was full of noisy tourists.

Coming from the coast, I'm used to eating fresh fish and chips. The fish and chips here was easily the BEST I have EVER tasted. Everything is reasonably priced too. The service was excellent. This restaurant has a beautiful view of the Loch Ness. (Unfortunately I was too hungry to get any photos!)

Attentive and efficient staff, free pick up and drop off service provided. Food was well prepared and presented. I would visit again.

El Clansman Hotel y el personal del restaurante era muy amable y servicial durante mi tiempo de enfermedad. La vista desde nuestra habitación era impresionante. Ojalá el ascensor era más conveniente, ya que es un desafío para llevar bolsas grandes varios tramos de escaleras. El hotel satisfizo nuestras necesidades y la tienda de regalos es una ventaja.

La primera noche cenamos en el comedor donde disfrutamos de pescado y patatas fritas con una increíble vista increíble del lago. Nuestro camarero era atento y educado - todo el personal. From Inverness going south around Loch Ness the Clansman Hotel should be 2 or 3. stop. sometimes car park could get busy, never mind just drive down 200 meters because it is a MUST SEE souvenir shop. i haven never seen so many fridge magnet re one subject! Loch Ness! Nessy!

We visited the hotel for dinner and restaurant has view of Loch and a mirror on the back wall so if seated away from window you can still see the Loch

We stopped in at the cafe after our Jacobite cruise. You just walk through and grab what you want. We had Paninis which were just okay and a bit expensive. But it was there and it was easy. We should have waited until we got to Inverness.

Ate here twice and found the food to be consistently good across all the dishes we had. Pleasant atmosphere and reasonable prices. Service was sometimes a little offhand

É do mesmo grupo do hotel de luxo ao lado Loch Ness lodge e eu esperava mais. A comida é boa, o vinho normal e o pão poderia estar mais aquecido. A vista é muito linda (Loch Ness) e vale jantar com esse visual. A experiência foi boa, mas tinha uma melhor expectativa.

My wife and I recently enjoyed a lovely evening meal at the hotel, the menu was varied and good value for money. The view from the restaurant over the Loch second to none, we would have no hesitation recommending the hotel restaurant for an evening meal.

A Inverness très proche du Loch Nées de l'autre cote6 du château on trouve cet hôtel restaurant avec vue sur le lac pardon Le Loch. Très bon restaurant avec des tas de variétés. On a goûté du saumon à la crème et ensuite un looping raisin en crème blanche. Beaucoup de crème mais tout est bon. Hôtel pas utilisé car nous continuons notre parcours

The cafe is a tourist trap. Charging big prices for very average food and small portions. Could do a lot better if they charged sensibly and raised the bar.

Affamati, dopo una giornata faticosa in giro per le Highlands, ci siamo rintanati qui per cena senza prenotare. Il personale ci ha accontentati anche se facendoci sedere vicino alle cucine nonostante il ristorante fosse per metà libero e lo sia rimasto durante tutta la durata della nostra cena. Io cappesante e salmone lui zuppa del giorno e costata. Prodotti buoni, con carne ottima e verdure fresche. Unica nota doĺente la scelta di ricoprire tutto il pesce con panature e salse, un peccato e un'abitudine locale quella di coprire le ottime materie prime del luogo. Dolce, anche quello con mezzo litro di crema al caramello, buonissimo e peccaminoso da quante calorie ingurgitate. Ottimo il burro alla barbabietola. Bellissima vista sul lago, personale molto gentile.

Attrape touriste ! Le café est à 3 livre un scandale. En plus pas très bon accueil froid et la boutique ne propose pas beaucoup de choix

The staff made us very welcome and worked hard - the overall feeling was we had travelled back to the late 70's. Harsh cold decor, the venue resembled a 70's disco. Might be better in the season.

Food was very tasty, between us we had a panini, some lentil soup and some chilli and nachos, as well as a latte and two VERY nice Nutella hot chocolates which I would definitely recommend trying. Everyone was happy with their food except for the portion sizes, so I’ve given this a 3/5 knocked down for price (extortionate for what you are given!) and portion sizes. Service was fantastic, 2 lovely ladies who were very friendly and informative. The view of the loch is also pleasant.

Visited here on Saturday night and had a very friendly greeting from the staff who were very accommodating. Food was delicious and wine was great. enjoyed sitting in the lounge area before and after the meal

Pedí un té, pedimos una rodaja de limón y me dijeron que no. Entonces la camarera (oscuro pelo) era muy grosero a mi cónyuge cuando vio que él conectado su teléfono a cobrar por unos minutos para conseguir algo de la vida de la batería. En primer lugar poner un cartel si no quieres usar tu cliente y tapones por lo menos agradable después pasamos gran libras por un té y pasteles! ! ! ! No modales en absoluto y hay cientos de personas parar aquí con el autobuses de turistas cada día.

Tried booking a table in the restaurant on line but didn't hear back from them and was unable to select a number of people to book a table for. Ended up eating in the pub area as the restaurant wasn't offered as an option when we arrived. Had a very social club feel and look to it, although the views over the Loch are stunning. Typical pub grub at very reasonable prices with lots of selection as well as a couple of vegetarian options.

visited café and shop after loch ness cruise which is also where you park to catch the boatwe had a.delicious cream tea.we looked around the shop as it had a good selection of souveniers.special thanks to the friendly and helpful shop assistant who helped find out if the ben nevis range was open that day.a lovely lady and an asset to the company.

Tourist trap work the usual marginal coffee for too much money. Very nice views of the loch. This is also where you get in for the boat tours.

We had our evening meal, and breakfast the following morning here while staying at the hotel. Both meals were very good and were served by friendly staff.

Este hotel nos pusieron en una habitación llamada D.. Que aparentemente son 10. x 10 habitaciones de la propiedad principal. La televisión es de 14 pulgadas y que ni siquiera funcionaba. Llamé a la recepción. Me dijeron que no hay nada que pudiera hacer. No me puedo creer que nos cobraron por esta cajita de una habitación. Hice la reserva en el sitio web. Creo que todos mis familiares que planeas visitar para no alojarse aquí!

Visitamos este restaurante del hotel para cenar. Aunque no habíamos reservado, nos las arreglamos para conseguir una mesa en el bar. El servicio fue muy bueno, pero la comida era horrible. Las patatas estaban crudas, la carne era de mala calidad y poco hecha. Por £70 + este no era aceptable.

Intentamos cenar aquí en 8. 30:00 sin reserva. El maitre nos aconsejó que la cocina cerraba a las 9. 00, fue "BORRADO" en el restaurante, así que no podía servir. Sin embargo, pudimos comer del menú del restaurante en la zona del bar bastante lúgubre. Este no es el nivel de servicio que he llegado a esperar cuando viaje en Escocia en los últimos años!

Estuvimos aquí en las orillas del Lago Ness para el almuerzo con nuestro grupo. Bonito restaurante, personal amable y buena comida. Afuera había una estatua de Nessie y podías caminar por debajo de la carretera a las orillas del lago.

Bestel hier voor de lunch geen caesar salade met brie en kip. Dit was een portie die bij eenmaal niezen van je boord gewaaid is. Werkelijk schandalig. De macaroni met kaas was meer de moeite. De verhouding tussen de prijs en de kwaliteit is echter niet geheel in verhouding. Vandaar dat het er, zelfs midden in de zomer, vrij rustig was.

We had the courtesy bus collect us from Greenlea B&B. The driver was great, we had drinks at the bar and then a fabulous meal. Yes they have the "view" but they also have a top notch chef and a really good team in the bar and restaurant. The meal.. calamari was cooked as it should be (and in so many places that is not the case)..., lamb was tender, thec dessert was fab and rounded off the meal.You just got the sense that everyone cared and that's what makes a real difference, very much worth a visit of an evening!

We were picked up from and dropped off at Glenkirk B&B at no cost. The welcome we received was lovely as soon as we got into the minibus. The hotel overlooks the Loch and we were so lucky to get a table overlooking the Loch. The food was first class, tasty, well presented and the staff friendly and well trained. The price was reasonable too. We definitely would return.

This is the only hotel located loch side on the famous Loch Ness. Its just off the side of the A82, a pretty busy road so take care when pulling in/out of the car park. The hotel is part of a larger tourism business and so frequently there are large tour groups and buses in the car park. Once inside, there is a large shop to the left in which you can buy just about everything to do with the Loch Ness Monster that you could ever want! Go up the stairs to the large bar/casual dining area overlooking the loch. Good range of food and drink options and staff relaxed and friendy. Kids will love spending time looking out for the monster whilst adults relax. On a previous occasion I have stayed overnight at the hotel and found it to be fine. All in all a good place to stay, while away some time and stock up on Loch Ness Monster souvenirs. Its certainly less busy than Drumnadrochit and with easier (and free) parking.

como hotel no puedo opinar, pero del restaurante, si. Es sencillo, de lujos nada de nada, buenas vistas al lago y la comida es sencilla, recomiendo la tabla de ahumados, muy buena

Durante o passeio pelo lago Ness decidimos almoçar no restaurante do hotel ao invés de fazer o cruzeiro pelo lago, me arrependi muito pois a única coisa boa do restaurante do hotel é a vista, atendimento ruim, comida pior ainda é além de tudo é caro... enfim não recomendo, é melhor você comprar um lanche ou um snack e comer no barco.

Pour une fois, à la carte, autre côté que du fish & chips et burgers. Nous avons pris une entrée a partager composée de saumon, moules, crabe, etc , excellente. Du saumon et des viandes très bien préparés. Les desserts sont excellents.Une très bonne halte entre Drumnadrochit et Inverness.

The restaurant at the Clansman offers spectacular views of Loch Ness but we didn't see Nessie. The service staff were very friendly and the food was good. We tried the seafood special which offered a variety of local delicacies. After being assured that we could get our meats cooked as ordered, we returned the following night and were not disappointed ..... rib eyes cooked rare and lamb medium rare.And be sure to take advantage of their car service if you are staying in the area ..... James was a delight.

Lovely meal for four at this restaurant last night. Ok prices and food excellent. Lovely young waitress...very helpful.

The food was very average. We asked for the steak to be medium to well, it was over cooked and very chewy. Food over all was bland. However the view was great.

Our dinner the first night was in the restaurant and it was very good. We ate more often at the Beast-ro, which was more to our taste.

On the recommendation of a friend we traveled to the Clansman for lunch and it did not recommend. Excellent Cullen Skink served with unspoiled views the length of Loch Ness! Very attentive and knowledgeable staff, the recommendation of an Aberlour 15 finished off the meal perfectly!

This was the best meal we had in our 2-week road trip! We were shown to our table at the front of the restaurant with window seats overlooking Loch Ness - awesome! Then our starters arrived - Cullen Skink and calamari - delicious! Then our mains arrived - salmon and chicken - fantastic! Service was friendly and fast...and I'm still thinking about the Cullen Skink, it was that good!

Good views, a good range of food, at reasonable prices and served by pleasant, helpful staff in a pleasant environment.
