Lovely fresh clean place, Food was nice good pints.

Normally come here never had a problem orderd a sizzling hunters chicken didn't come out on a skillet was warm tho but not from a skillet and also had a bit of there steak and ale pie fast forward a hour I've been violently ill and now it's half 1 in the morning and I'm ill when I say I won't be back again I mean I won't be back again

Visited yesterday for lunch with my Husband who has dietary requirements. Tracey explained how you can find all the information relating to allergies on the app. The food was lovely and so much choice. Tracey came back to check if everything was OK if we needed anything else. Service was faultless and the atmosphere was nice and relaxed. Really enjoyed our food look forward to coming back.

Went for a family dinner at the Saltire. The food was great and reasonably priced, the dining area was clean and although sports are shown in the tv’s. There is no sound at the eating area which helps to create a more relaxing environment. Great to be seated and served quickly and our server (Hannah) was fun, friendly and very knowledgeable of the products I would definitely recommend to family and friends.

So i booked the function suite for my son’s First Holy Communion yesterday. We were having a small celebration with close family and friends. From the very first time i spoke to Tracey she was Amazing and nothing was too much bother for her. As the weather had improved and me sunshine hat his hat on i asked if i could have it in the beer garden outside, she tidied the garden and made it look lovely. I left a few things i had bought to decorate the tables and so on and she set it all up for me Amon he with other staff. It was just lovely. Was really really happy when we arrived. The buffet is numerous items and you choose 8 things from it however i managed to tweak a few things from the bar menu and nothing was too much bother, what i would say to anyone booking is if you are having a function for say 50 people book a buffet for 30 because it’s absolutely huge and there’s no way it will be eaten. We ended up boxing some of ours and brining it home. The food was lovely and there’s guests all said the same. It was just a nice wee setting sitting outside listening to music and if you needed to order you could scan the app and staff would bring the drinks to you. You pay zero for hall hire, you just pay for the buffet which i think is great. Would 100% recommend for any function big or small. We only had 22 people and we had a section of the beer garden which was perfect for us.

In the bar service was quick even though it was busy bar staff polite and friendly 2 pool tables was a bonus as well ……………..

Was amazing had my mum's birthday party in the function suite the staff couldn't do enough for us especially Tracey she was out of this world with the service and the food was first class wee all will be back very soon

Recently went to a family birthday party best night out in a while myself and my partner had a sharing platter for our main everything on it was delicious staff couldn't be more friendly and went out their way to make sure it was a night to remember can't wait for our next visit

We had a 50th wedding anniversary celebration with a group of 14. Served by Ioana who was attentive and professional. Food was served promptly.

Had a lovely meal with my family celebrating my mums anniversary our waitress Oana was very nice polite and her service was spot on . We will be back for more celebrations .

Good value for money for food but some things a little over cooked fried egg and bacon for example.

We had our engagement party in the saltire and if I could give more stars I would! The staff were absolutely fantastic, the DJ had everyone on the dance floor all night, and the buffet was amazing. I highly recommend here for any events you’re looking to host. Absolutely brilliant!

I had heard from my neice about the mixed grill in the Saltire and I'm glad she suggested it as it was the best meal I have had in a very long time it was stunning. I said to Nathan that I enjoyed my meal more than I had in other places and I said I would be back for more and I certainly will be soon. Top food and service made even better with Nathan asking if everything was fine mid meal.

Disappointed yet again as they were out of peach schnapps so couldn't get a cocktail. Quite a common occurrence. Always seem to be out of something. Waited over half an hour for food. So not a great experience

Had a birthday meal there this afternoon with some of our family. Couldn’t fault a thing. Graham and the team couldn’t have done any more to make it a lovely experience. Beige food and most things we ordered had "run out" at 3pm on a Friday!..on the upside food was hot staff were friendly and efficient but clearly very short staffed we had to sit amongst loaded dirty tables noone to clear them

The place is great and I recommend it with all my heart! Perfect for a family dinner. We had a great time there with our family and thanks to one of the waitresses Ioana it was a great time for us. My daughter loved it and thank you very much for the amazing service and delicious food! We love you Ioana , you are the star of the place!!!

Was there on Thursday for the charity night and had a meal as well the food was great and the music was great as well and for a great cause I would recommend ppl to go for the food and go to the nights with the live music amazing and thank you so much to the bar staff so friendly and welcoming

Anniversary date and out to enjoy ourselves, however the food was not up to scratch although my main was refunded when I queried the quality of it I was refunded the cost which was fair.

Come here once every couple of months when we're in Livingston. Food is great, sharers and burgers are recommended. Plenty of free parking, also 2 min walk from Livingston North train station. Good for couples and families alike.

I spent New Year’s Eve here as part of the ticketed event. This was very well organised and as always the staff were exceptional, they can never do enough to help and are always friendly and welcoming. The entertainment was good as was the buffet that was provided. I would not hesitate about attending another ticked event here.

Xmas day disaster waiting times terrible main OK starter brucetta and mushrooms got a crumpet 1 mushroom no puddings left any1 thinking of going at Xmas giv it a miss

Christmas day pre booked for 16 adults and 2 children. A complete disaster frm start. 2pm booked by 3pm still waiting on starters. All meals were pre booked well in advance so should have been no problems. Starter was disgusting mains were eventually served and the food was also disgusting too many problems to mention on this page. when you think nothing else could go badly infotmed that dessert was not available and had to re order substitute. Manager was unhelpful after complaining. Will be applying. For a complete refund. Will never step foot in this place again. Letter on way to manager Booked this event well in advance so no excuse for long wait which could excuse if the food was okay. The only christmas thing here was the muic. Poor poor poor. Bad food bad service. Bad Management. £800 POUNDS DOWN THE DRAIN. Not the waiting staff fault. BAD MANAGEMENT. Due to long wait some of our family had to. Leave before sweet arrived which was also not worth the wait. Cooked family anther Christmas dinner on boxing day.

Never had a problem before but this time I went to order the food , I was told there was no ribs when I ordered so I asked for rib eye steak ,I was then told there was no rib eye so ended up with a cut of meat I didn’t really want, my wife ordered the slow cooked beef rib , waited an hour for it , the beef rib was just fat, tiny wee bit of meat mostly all fat which went back and messed up the family meal , then to rub salt in it the table next to us that ordered a while after we did received an order of ribs 🤔 hold on I was told there was none, questioned the waiter guy and he apologised profusely even though it wasn’t his fault , so basically spend £70 for a terrible experience, I won’t be back after being told there’s no ribs to then see other people getting what I go there for is insulting.

Excellent atmosphere,and very nice and friendly stuff. Food was great with cocktails as well. After meal we play wee tournament at 8 poll. Great fun. Definitely go there for next Company night out

Staff were very welcoming, friendly & couldn't have been more helpful. Prices were reasonable & the food was good, had the millionaire burger & it was probably one of the tastiest I've had in a long time. Definitely be visiting again.

Had a meal on Saturday with a friend. The item I ordered was not what I got. I asked for some bbq sauce & was told I would have to pay. My friends meal was too chewy she couldn't eat it. We tried to speak to a member if staff who clearly wasn't interested. We have been going regular but I think it while until we go back if we ever do. We have never experienced anything like this before.

Went today with a friend. The meal I asked for was not what I got but I was hungry. I asked for BBQ sauce & was told I would have to pay for it(disgusting). My friend got the gammon & could not eat it as it was too rubbery. Tried to complain & no one was interested. We are in there often but I don't think we will be back. Very disappointed 😞

Love this place!! Tracey and the incredible staff (Adrian was our server). the food was amazing as always and service second to none. They made me feel fabulous for my birthday and I left feeling very special. Well worth the reasonable cost for food, and a happy and personable staff. Thank you Saltire!

We came in on Tuesday for a birthday meal we where served by the lovely loana she let us know straight away another big table was in she took all our orders so we where serverd at the same time and our drinks she was friendly and well manered made sure we had everything we needed and we where all okay this is the 2nd time we have been served by loana and she always goes above and beyond makes us feel very welcome will 100% be back

Nathan is wonderful and provided an amazing service tonight, he was very welcoming, chatty and polite. The food and drinks were great too!

The service we received was top notch, we were well taken care of by Nathan who advised us on what was good and did not miss the mark on his recommendation.

We visit the Saltire on a regular basis, and each time we go we feel like we are long lost friends returning. Nathan looked after us today, with his usual welcoming and friendly demeanour. The food was as usual very tasty and sizzling hot. It really is a nice straightforward no frills decent food and atmosphere place to visit for food.

Nathan was FABULOUS. Such a great energy and went over and above to make sure we had a perfect experience. 10/10 for him

Service was very good, Nathan does numerous check backs on our table making sure we were happy with food, he served drinks to our table so we didn’t need to get up during dinner. Asset to your team.

Waited 1 hour and no meals yet!!!!!

Loved coming here years ago, my friend reminded me about it so... Decided to take my 2 kids along with me today while my partner was at work. Firstly, I stood at the door waiting to be seated for longer than I should have, felt some acknowledgment would have been nice, "someone will have you seated in a moment" will suffice. I could see it was busy anyway so, I understood. I was finally taken to my table, I sat down to which the waitress swiftly walked away. I was sat with my toddler on my knee thinking, are they bringing me a highchair? (which I requested when booking and should be fairly obvious considering she's a toddler). I'm sure on previous visits I could order from my phone, although I noticed there was no table number, so I thought, "I'll wait until the waitress comes back with the highchair", obviously assuming she was away to get it.... Which evidently she wasn't. A bit of time passed, my toddlers getting impatient on my knee, so I turned round to get a menu, and noticed the menu stand had writing on it stating to order at the bar. This would have been nice to know when seated. A simple, "good evening, here's your menues, once you have decided please order from the bar".... 1 simple sentence would have saved me sitting about like a spare pri*k, rather than just walking off the second I sit down. After a bit of time with no staff in sight and still no high chair, I looked up at the bar, the queue was too long for me to be standing in it with my kids... The fact the waitress noticed I had a toddler and didn't click on I'd need a high chair is a bit poor in the customer service department. The fact I wasn't made aware on the ordering process and also having to wait at the main door without feeling noticed, it's just not how to treat customers. Again, it was very busy, I'm not saying I won't come back, but my 1 star review will remain until I get a better experience as I've never felt so out of place in a food venue before. More staff is evidently needed during the busy times. I feel the staff are probably put under pressure causing them to lose focus on the things that matter to customers. This is why I simply walked out today rather than rasing my concerns with the staff as not their fault, we're human after all. But yeah, the management should get this sorted out because it was such basic customer service skills that caused me to walk today.

Good food been a couple of times but the service is poor. It's like they don't want your business trying to put me off by saying stupid waiting times when half the tables are empty

Walked in lots of tables available, went to bar to be told we are not taking walkins. All the tables are booked. I said what about sitting outside was told no, said what about out the front told no. Asked about bar told no. I mean the place wasn’t busy, there was about 8/9 tables available. The a customer said to me go onto their website and book a table, that’s what we had to do. The bar staff don’t tell you that instead it took for a customer to tell me. No wonder it wasn’t busy probs turning people away all day long and this is a pub that should be wanting to make money. I went onto Greenking website and booked a table. I did this whilst still standing at the bar. I was made to stand there for a good 10 mins. The male with dark hair and beard was serving and the duty manager i believe with blue hair was hovering about at the bar but not serving. When i did get served i ordered some drinks and a group of men came in wanting food, the male said we are not taking walkins today and the female staff member said you can go into bar and get served food from there after me being told no. It’s crazy. When i went up to order our food, the male was serving in the bar and the female member of staff was talking to a customer at the other end of the bar for a good 8/10 mins not even acknowledging me standing there. An elderly couple came in and were stood beside me waiting to be served also. It’s just not good enough. The food was ok, my nachos were a bit burned but was ok, waiting time was reasonable but the customer service was shocking. I won’t be back anytime soon and it’s sad as it’s a 5 minute walk from my house. I would rather jump in the car and drive to the Livingston Inn for food etc because the service there is second to none. Saltire have a word with your staff and please do better.

Meal was ok but we had to wait over an hour for it to be served. We had to go up to the bar twice to ask when it would be ready. Puts us off going back.

Says it was open at 9am for breakfast it wasn't stood and waited to 10 just incase but it didn't open a cleaner came out and told me they won't be open to 11 12 ISH. We have 15 lads coming for breakfast for a pre stag breakfast so they missed out.

Would definitely eat here again next time when in Scotland the Food was Nice and as well as the Puddings were lovely Only complaint would be when my mom ordered just Mashed Potato and Steak nothing else only with gravy but it came with onions and peas that’s the only complaint I have Definitely would eat there again

We just popped in for a little lunch. Got BOGOF burgers, which were great. Hot & fresh with salad & chips on the side. Really reasonably priced, great deal for us OAP's. Thank you Saltire, keep up the good work.

Good food nice staff and a nice pub

First time in restaurant . Work lunch . Nice pleasant greeting , asked if we had any allergies which is good. Food was very nice , fair priced menu . Will definitely be back for lunch meal was fab thank you .
