Toby Carvery Bathgate Farm in West Lothian

i ordered a cavery for 1 the meat is all dried up asked for gravy never got it requested no stuffing yet its there oh and the main bit i was looking forward to cheesecake not there £22 on order and they cant even read it right or send the proper stuff

Roast potatoes very hard , undercooked as was the cauliflower, disappointing

I only go for the brrakfast and thats damn tasty

Overall the meal was good and the carvery as expected was excellent with decent cuts of meat and plenty of it but the veg was a bit on the cooler side and if it had been hotter it would have got top marks. I think that the veg had maybe just been out for too long and although under a heat lamp it does cool down a bit and I personally like my veg hotter. Saying that I will.happily go back as it's a great meal for the money

Linzi was our waitress today, she was very welcoming and kind. Food was great, roast potatoes tasted like they had been warmed up. Not the biggest deal though :)

Excellent food and service as always!!!! Very attentive staff, we were taken to our table immediately, served promptly and drinks were waiting for us at the table when we returned from the servery.

We went for dinner on August 28, 2024. The meat was delicious and you could choose the types of meat you wanted yourself. There was also a very unusual type of meat that I found peculiar and I highly recommend it. The service was very good when it came to bringing us drinks and desserts and the price was quite affordable. As if that were not enough, it is located in front of the Premier in hotel and is full of parking spaces. Without a doubt the best fast food place I have ever seen. If you go to Edinburgh you have to stop by!

Visited two weeks ago for lunch. Food was delicious and served hot. I would particularly recommend the desserts. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Excellent local lunch spot all round.

Perfect for a family meal. We had the carvery with the king size upgrade, it's a very special treat for us. The food is always excellent, our daughter always eats too much but still has to have a sundae!! :D All of the staff are friendly and polite and very helpful if any difficulties arise. The atmosphere even at their busiest times is so pleasant it's difficult to leave :). A special shout out to our server this evening Rachel who was very kind and courteous despite having so many tables, absolute professional 😀 Also, our now larger cat really appreciated the little bits we brought back for him, I've to pass on his thanks to you too! Honestly, this should be 5 stars to anyone looking for fun and delicious food at an unbeatable price. Please if you are in the area, drop by and treat yourselves. You will not be disappointed 😌

Food was nice but the staff need to keep if topping up with fresh vegetables and potatoes etc. There was enough left for me to choose from but had to ask for fresh gravy as there was only dregs in the bottom

I visited my local toby and was pleased with visit, kevin and staff were amazing.

I visit at least once a week and tonight was lovely as usual. Food was excellent although roast potatoes were a bit hard. This did not stop us from enjoying our dinner. Thanks to Rhona, our server for the excellent service and attention. Staff fabulous as usual. See you all next week 😊

Ordered 3 small starters , came out 30min later . Food was bland , tasted like it was frozen and microwaved … not going back

Great service from Lyndsey tonight. We had a table of 9, 4 of which were young kids. She was extremely patient and accomodating and made it a great visit 😊

Service was a little slow to start with being seated but then the man who found us a table was lovely, Rachel our server was lovely and the lady serving the roast was brilliant

Food is good but I don’t understand why use constantly close early and only allowed me to get one beer at 10pm when use are meant to be open till 22:30 this is shocking that use are closing at different times of the day and being not consistent so maybe update your Google times to the appropriate/correct times Update … I will keep a closer look and start logging the closing times when am around thanks 😊

Arrived at 7:00pm so not late. I may as well have had a vegetarian meal. Meat was just shavings and scraps off the carving plate. No veg apart from red cabbage and cranberries but in fairness you had to search for the cabbage. Potato's dried up. No gravy,. Condiments consisted of empty pots or near empty. Asked for veg and got looks as if to say what! You expect veg as well. And to add insult to injury what little meat I found was not very tender and had 'pipes' in it. Didn't bother with desert!!! Needless to say I'll not be coming back.

Usually amazing as visit at least once a month, unfortunately this time round out of Gammon (a hr and 20mins wait for next joint!) When all 4 of your party wanted Gammon a bit of a let down, the turkey we ended up having was nice but rather bland, mac and cheese very dry and lacking in cheese, cauliflower cheese was basically cauliflower stalks, unfortunately the worst trip to this branch weve had

Upated review following our visit at 6pm on Sunday 21st July 2024. Unfortunately the Toby booking system appeared to allow too many bookings at once. We had to wait 45 minutes from arriving to being served our food. During this time both the Beef and Lamb ran out adding to the delay. Our server April was fantastic but she did make one error, serving and charging for a large wine instead of a medium but given the number of customers this was understandable. The food was lovely and worth the wait. However controls the bookings, please allow more time for backlogs of customers to be served. Previous review reads as follows: Roast beef absolutely succulent! Very busy restaurant, lots of staff but lots to do!

As an American tourist in Scotland, I had never heard of Toby Carvery, but I am no stranger to decently priced buffet food. What sets this place apart from other restaurants is the staff. They are friendly and considerate. Linzi in particular went out of her way to assist my wife, who is allergic to gluten, in selecting safe foods for her to eat, and to help her feel like she wasn’t an inconvenience. This might seem like an odd thing to say, but I promise you it’s a huge deal, so thank you Linzi. Now, I did find the food a little bland for my liking, but it was hot and filling, and carving staff never made any of us in my tour group of 32 feel like we weren’t just as important as the family of 4 who visit once a week. It was a fun meal experience and I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Phenomenal as always :D The food is always spot on and fantastic value for money. We were in at the rush hour and everyone was still giving it their all in this heat. Obviously all of the staff are wonderful and in particular our server was the fantabulous, one and only, Sophie! Keeping up with multiple tables, lots of orders and all the while maintaining such a happy, friendly and polite attitude 😊 An absolute star!! The carvery food was cold and I asked for our dinners to be heated in a microwave. No the couldn’t be done I was told, but they said they would give us fresh vegetables after a long wait. After asking for the manager he admitted he had had a complaint and checked the temperature 10minutes earlier and it was over 63degrees (too cool) and obviously didn’t change it. He told us he wasn’t going to charge us and just go. Won’t be back and would advise to avoid like the plague.

Superb food. Lovely carvery options with the best thing ever, control of the spoon to put your own veg on. My wee boy had a lovely meal too. I hadn't been before and the wonderful Kevin talked us through how to order at the carvery station. Great customer service. Thank you Kevin. I'll be back.

This is the place my friend chooses to celebrate her birthday each year. We both have the roast lunch which we always enjoy and never go away hungry afterwards. The price is very reasonable but would advise you to go early as the food is fresh and hot then. Rhona our waitress, was very cheerful and eager to please so deserves a special mention.

Rebecca seated and served us, she was the perfect balance of attentive and gave us space to eat. She was polite and friendly whilst more than happy to help if we needed anything. The food was fresh and plentiful we left well fed and happy with all aspects of our visit.

Got told book on line as no spaces went outside there was a table within 5 mins and tables empty all through our meal staff rather rude and the food I had a bad stomach and diarrhoea afterwards if you want a good toby carvery go to the one in Strathclyde already done the review on that one and it's 5 🌟 all the way Maybe Bathgate should get restrained at the Strathclyde one 😆

This was amazingly tasty could have been hotter but it did come from Bathgate to Livi a quick blast in the microwave did the trick, the carrots were so sweet and the mash buttery and meat tender excellent.

Went for Sunday lunch and wouldn’t visit again after being shouted at across the restaurant by the waitress. We waited for 20 mins to pay the bill due to an error with the till, we where told. Despite other customer paying. After asking 2 or 3 times we where shouted at the waitress “you better speak to him then” she was shouting accros the restaurant to us. I said “who” she proceeded to shout back “he’s at the bar, the manger”. Food was good but don’t want to eat again there again after being shouted at there. No apology from this staff member and we were quite disgusted being treated like this. First visit and last

We were served by April who was very attentive and friendly. Had great carveries plus shared a desert. We come here regularly, always quick and tasty. We definitely reccomend 👍

The food wasn’t great I’ve had better in here. Really don’t enjoy it. Mash was full lumps like water Yorkshire pudding were like crisps tasted of cooking fat. Defo put me off going back.

The service was quick and the food was good value for money. The only let down was, as we ordered off the menu, we were brought potatoes which were really burnt. Whilst they did say we could go get some others from the carvery, we were hesitant incase we were told by other staff not to. It would've been better if they could've swapped them before bringing them to the table.
