I had a wonderful dining experience at Toby Carvery, where the atmosphere was warm and inviting. Caitlin, our server, was friendly and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed. She recommended the perfect carvery selection, and the food was delicious – tender meats, perfectly cooked vegetables, and flavorful gravy. Caitlin's excellent service made the meal even more enjoyable.

Worst place I've been in service non existing waited half an hour to be served food disgusting serving hatch needs to be cleaned would not recommend this place giving themselves bad name saying home of the roast

Terrible. Ordered Gammon only as thata the only meat I enjoy or eat at a carvery and they sent me dry turkey and inedible beef. Why ask if your going to send the opposite. Cold and horrible with the wrong meat. Shame used to be good.

Main meal was fine but deserts leave a lot to be desired .. in particular sticky toffee pudding

Came in around dinner time and although it was super busy my server, caitlin, made sure that me and my family were looked after very well. she was chatty and kind making the night even better. Food was great too as usual and we will be back.

Went for breakfast with friends, the food that was out was hard, no beans no link sausage the toast took for ages to brown. Wont be back

Victoria was an absolute legend!

Victoria was the best server we could have asked for. With our wedding party of 35 she managed to make us feel so welcome and done her absolute best being the one server for all of us, she managed to keep such a positive and funny attitude. She deserves the best!

A breath of fresh air. I've had several bad experiences with carvery dining, however this one was excellent. We got in early, the food was piping hot and most of all still moist. Service was excellent, the servers were in good humour and relaxed. With an extensive choice on offer from the buffet and a relaxed atmosphere we were truly made to feel welcome. I'll be back, without a doubt. Thanks guys 👍

The food was stone cold? The patatoes were solid and cold. Gravy was watery and it all went in the bucket

Went yesterday, the food was decent and I enjoyed it. Really good server too called Cait helped us out with our orders and was generally really friendly. Overall a great place and enjoyed the day.

Went with my Family on Saturday had an amazing and kind server named caitlyn. She was very kind and thoughtful to my family and she remembered the requirements we asked for in our food. She made sure to ask for allergies and made sure we were all taken care of. She made sure to say goodbye once we were leaving which was a very nice way to end out family night out. 10/10 would come with my family again and even recommend to my friends.

Great service, great staff. Feels worm and welcome. Helpfull and polite people. Any questions answered and explained on the high lvl. From the other hand, we had a roasts and all of them was dry, gamon to salty, no chips for carvery, peas hard and dry to. Just need to improove quality of food, and all will be great.

Since I took the day off work I through I would go and try the Toby Carvery breakfast and it did not disappoint absolutely amazing breakfast and customer service was awesome nice and friendly and polite staff. 23/1/25

Good service. Found during this visit the vegetables sides weren't topped up at a reasonable time. Many dishes sat empty for a while. No one topped up the cranberry sauce. Only an hour later when we left that it was refilled. Meat half of it was quite dry, the pork and turkey. The gammon and beef was fine. It has been renovated recently which was well over due. Brighter and more open restaurant. Private area in the back for larger parties.

Chelsea was our server today when we visited Toby Carvery Bathgate Farm. She was warm and welcoming and really engaging, especially with our two little boys! She answered any questions we had and was really helpful, checking that we were OK but also giving us space to enjoy our lunch. We had a great experience and a thoroughly enjoyable lunch!

only gripe is that one of the gravy tubs spilled all over everything in the bag. thankfully all wrapped so it was just messy trying to get the gravy spill off everything

Excellent service, friendly staff and a great Manager who really takes care of his customers and staff.

Stayed at Premier Inn next door last week. Service on the Wednesday was friendly and quick. May not be many options for draught beers but carvery was good value for money. Girl behind bar (don't remember her name), was chatty and quick to serve. Went back on Thursday night. Again, great value for money. Kevan was a very good host, and made my short time there a pleasant experience. Thanks guys.

Relaxed dining. Nice meal. The carvery has had a refurb since I was last here. Waitress personable and no attempt to hurry us out. Only slight issue was that the hot air hand drier in the gents was not sufficiently warm enough to dry my hands.

The food was great but the mac and cheese was disgusting. It’s so burnt with hardly any sauce or cheese it almost cracked my tooth as the macaroni gone hard. Awful. The customer service could also be improved. What it looks like a manager guy had a terrible attitude. I don’t know how he got a job in customer service never mind being the front of the house to welcome customers. He said one of the servers will take our orders, nobody came. We went ahead and got our food and nobody turned up so I had to go to the bar to ask for the drinks instead. They also put us at the table beside the radiator which was in full blast. It’s nice to be warm due to the cold weather but the table was pushed to the radiator and I almost got a 4 degree burn on my leg. Whoever arranged the layout of the tables should get a proper check. Tables were all squashed together we could hardly get in or out. We had unlimited soft drinks and only managed to get 1 glass due to the hassle of walking pass all the tables and going to the drink machine on the other side. Why not put another drink machine on the other side?

Went for carvery with wife and granddaughter meat was ok but the sides were all dried out ,macaroni was tasteless ,and you only got 50% off if you had the app, I didn’t have the app .cost £6.49 for gravy and a yorkshire pudding for my granddaughter

food was cold, pigs in blankets were missing from the ultimeat order and the roast potatoes were as hard and black as coal and the food was Luke warm. very disappointing. won't order again until the food being sent out improves.

Nice and quiet. All food was fresh and plentiful. We made use of the 50% off your main meal. Rachel served us and was very attentive. Looking forward to trying a breakfast next time. This place has recently had an a refurbishment and is very comfortable.

So went in for a beer with my brother who just arrived from Australia. First round he had a carling kids had a lemonade and my other half irn bru he then noticed there was Tennents. So I went and bought him one to which the female said is that for HIM pointing to my oldest nephew of 17 I was rather embarrassed at the tone and how it came out I just said no for me. She then told other members of staff who then just watched us and kept our eye on us not a great atmosphere at all was made to feel very uncomfortable. Not a great representation of Scottish hospitality .

Very nice restaurant. The food is really good and the price was unexpectedly low. The turkey was delicious and not dry at all, the beef was very tasty as well. There is a lot of variety and something for everybody. Even though it is a chain restaurant the atmosphere is realky warm and you have quiet and private corners and it is not loud at all. Rachel was a great waitress and really nice and helpful. Since it was our first visit they had to explain a few things and did without hesitation. Definitely will come back soon.

Went in for my partners birthday as we go in every now and again. First time we have ever had Rachel as our server and have to say she was fantastic. Friendly and professional can't fault her (she even wrangled Jordan the carver into singing happy birthday to my partner :) the food was brilliant as always and can't find fault with anything! Was in today for a boxing day lunch had rachel serving us and would like to give her 5stars alone, rachel was extremely polite and friendly. Not only that rachel was constantly checking in to ensure we were happy and content with our food and service. She went above and beyond any customer service i have experienced in a long time .

We had a lovely carvery, we had a good portion of meat each. The service was good, our server Jay was lovely and polite. The pub had a nice atmosphere and as we went around Christmas time it felt very festive. Would eat at this restaurant again. Thank you.

We were there 25th Christmas Day for Christmas dinner.All I can say is never again! After waiting ages for main meal.staff were coming from through the back to take from the front for I assume takeaway or delivery I counted one server taking 15 portions of the macaroni cheese just as I was about to get some.Here’s a tip fill up in the kitchen and leave the food at the front for the people that’s been waiting ages to get served. There was no Mac and cheese due to fill up takeaway no Brussels sprouts and no sign of any coming soon Awful food uninterested server,had to hunt down someone to get our dessert as we waited ages. Won’t be back.

We had a carvery on Xmas eve. The food was awful. Peas hard, carrots mushy, potatos cold. The meat was ok. As for the gravy it was thick and lumpy but only warm. I have been to other carverys and they were great. I will not be back to Bathgate. Today I am suffering from stomach cramps and feel so ill. My son has had tummy problems too.

Friday 6/12/24 My friend Janie g I read some good reviews on theToby carvery here - so off we went & arrived around 4.20 pm. We didn't book & only had to wait a few minutes to get taken to a table. Now the best bit about our experience on that evening out was how pleasant & professional the Polish girl called Nina was as she took our order & took time to explain the procedure that we would have to go about getting our food. The plates 🍽️ 🍽️ were only luke warm & the brussel sprouts weren't tough & I was pleased at that, & the rest off the meal wasn't too bad BUT it was only warm, at least the roast potatoes were hot. The near black Christmas pudding was very good & so was the custard BUT my latte in a small glass had not much coffee there to drink through the foam. PS. Sorry no photos 'cos i 4got 2 bring my phone 😔

We came in for our family Christmas dinner and were served by Rachel. The food was great and filling. The service was fast and effective, got everything we needed. Into downside the music was pretty quiet could’ve been louder and would’ve been a better atmosphere. Over all great!
