The food was delicious we ordered a pizza ,service by Ty,erin was super.and spoke with chef Josh who made the pizza and made my business meeting a more pleasurable one

Our wee visit on the 30th August 2024 was for our sons 23rd Birthday, We all had a brilliant time with Craig & his team looking after us. We all ordered drinks 1st, 1 bottle 75cl prosecco 2 pints of Inch's cider and a can of Irn-Bru, Our 2 boys had starters, Mac & Cheese bites and Mac & Cheese with pulled pork, both were delicious. Our main courses were, Pepperonis pizza, Surf & Turf, Donner Kebab last but not least Fish & Chips (what was the size of a whale). Everything was perfect, steak cooked to perfection and the fish batter was super crispy! (Thank you). The birthday boy, finished off with a chocolate brownie cake and ice cream. We are looking forward to our next visit to The Rowantree Restaurant in Armadale. Please pass on to Craig & his team, Thank You so much you all give us a fantastic service. 😍🥃

Tonight, I had the pleasure of dining at the Rowan Tree and it was an absolutely delightful experience. The food was exceptional, but what truly made the evening unforgettable was the outstanding service provided by the staff. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warm smiles and a genuine sense of hospitality. The waitstaff were attentive without being intrusive, ensuring that every detail of my dining experience was perfect. They were knowledgeable about the menu and offered helpful suggestions with special offers available, making it easy to choose the perfect dishes. (Thursday steak night) One particular staff member, Claire, went above and beyond to make my evening special. Her friendly demeanour and genuine care were evident in every interaction. Being a coeliac, Claire was happy to accommodate my requests and made me feel like a valued guest. Overall, my experience at the Rowan Tree was exceptional. The combination of delicious food and impeccable service created a truly memorable evening. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience.

Two couples had a Sunday evening meal at this very friendly and welcoming Pub. Our friends live locally and are regulars and we were visitors from Bristol. ( Believe me the prices are much higher in Bristol area than here.) We had the Sunday roast which was very good, sensible helpings of Turkey and the trimmings. The young waitress was really helpful and pleasant as was the Manager who had a chat with us. We all rounded off with Jam roly poly with very hot custard. Good food experience in pleasant surroundings.

An excellent time was had at the pub quiz. The atmosphere was great and the staff were on form, especially our waitress Ellie, who was friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend The Rowan Tree for a meal and some drinks.

Visited the Rowan Tree with my family for a birthday celebration & had a wonderful experience, from start to finish the staff were outstanding. Our order was taken promptly by Keeva our meals arrived exactly ordered & piping hot. Keeva checked on us through out our meals to see if everything was ok & if we need anything. Massive thank you to the team for making our visit so enjoyable.

My partner has eating issues but she loves it here foods on point we will be back for sure close to home

Service was great and efficient. Tables and surroundings were clean and inviting, and the food was hot and very tasty. All plates had a decent helping and at a great price. Well done all at the Rowan Tree 👏👏

Had one of the salads that suggested it would be quite interesting, edamame beans, quinoa, and other things that make a salad great. They also had bbq cauliflower wings but they felt out of touch with the salad, not sure why they were added. But the other items were not that nice. They only had a pinch of the extra items, maybe a teaspoon and the rest was a bitter salad with only bitter leaves.

Fantastic service from the rowan tree team. We were sat within moments of arrival. The server Ellie was very polite and informative. Our starters came out quickly. The chicken strips and nachos we got were outstanding. Ellie then made quick work of clearing our plates and getting us more drinks which were served by a smile from Claire. Ty brought out our mains and was very polite and well spoken. We had a wonderful time at the Rowan tree and will definitely be returning.

Very poor service, ignored on arrival for at least 5 minutes when eventually seated young girl waitress was less than welcoming and unfriendly, ordered drinks and waited 15 minutes for these to arrive, waited a further 20 minutes for food order to be taken, food was ok nothing special or terrible, when paying had a discount voucher which had been posted to all local residents, made to feel uncomfortable for using and basically snatched out of hand. Really poor customer service from a place we used to really enjoy going to, won’t return any time soon

Very relaxed, very clean. Good attentive service and very good choices across adult and children's menu. Great setting for family meals.

Took my dog for lunch and all the staff where very happy friendly and went the extra mile for my pup made sure he had water and was comfortable.

Went with my daughter as wanted cod and chips. Now serving haddock same as every other restaurant in the validity. Very disappointed. Will not be going there again unless they change menu.

Great friendly staff and specific request for accessibility on booking for bench seating no booth was all ready on arrival, allowed extra time to order food and food was all cooked nicely, we both had the mega mixed grill but the steak on one was very thick and very hard to cut and my dad couldn’t eat it, but they did wrap this up for us on request so we could take it away for our dogs as a treat.

On arrival, allocated our table, order taken for our drinks while we browsed the Menu. Our food was served quickly and must say it was piping hot (Soup, Garlic Mushrooms, Steak n Ale Pie and Mac n Cheese …… very nice). Staff were very pleasant. Rowan Tree is a great place to eat.

Warmly greeted, as we had pre booked, we were shown directly to our table. A waitress came 5 minutes later to take our drinks order. Another waitress came shortly afterwards to take our food order. Our meals were delivered and we all enjoyed them. We cannot fault anything. The restaurant was clean and tidy, the staff were welcoming and friendly, service was great, we will be back soon.

The food was very nice, the service was friendly, One negative thing was, that they had a quiz night and it was very loud. We will check the next time before we book a table 😉

Had a large booking for our sons 18th, everyone in the party really enjoyed the food. The staff are very helpful and friendly and everything was served in a timely manner. We were served by Claire and she was great with everyone. Craig, Rebecca and Ty brought our drinks and food out were all excellent and very attentive. Would definitely recommend to all family and friends.

Update 05/052024. Was in for Sunday dinner with family and had to send back the Roast beef dinner as I could not cut any of the slices as they were so tough! The server was quick in replacing the meal (really friendly and helpful), but what came was arguably even worse! The Roast Chicken to replace was abysmal. It was clearly a reheat and possibly been sat in the oven for many hours to dry out! The rest of the meal was dreadful too (cold bland vegetables, over roasted potatoes that were bitter, cold mash etc). I am not sure why anyone thought that was a meal to serve somebody! I tried to eat some as was so hungry after waiting for a meal for so long, but eventually had to leave most of it. Really disappointed especially as a previous visit had been so nice.

Lovely staff, we took our puppy for socialisation and the staff were brilliant with him. Food was brilliant too, couldn't fault the place.

Spacious surroundings and good service.

We booked for my son’s 21st meal and it was delicious. Staff were amazing and couldn’t do enough for us. Everyone was stuffed and very satisfied. Especially Erin and who was lovely.

My daughter and I had lunch here today and it was so lovely. I had the Sunday roast which was delicious and my daughter had Macaroni Cheese. Staff are lovely and it has a nice relaxed vibe.

We had an amazing time at the Rowan Tree for our daughter's 4th Birhday. We phoned in advance to book a large group and asked them if they would mind surprising her with her cake. From the phone call to the service, staff were amazing and our children had a wonderful time. I always choose the pizza when we come here because it is the best! Was here for meal with friends I asked waitress if I could change the mushroom to a tomato in the mixed grill she said it was OK I was very disappointed to be charged for the tomato and it was a very small piece and to charge 79p extra for a small half of tomato absolutely terrible

Last minute decision to visit for Friday night dinner. Great decision! Staff are so friendly and attentive (Ty, Rebecca, Rachel & Ellie). Wine & beer order taken quickly (thank you - it’s been a long week) and food ordered shortly after. You need to try the new salt & pepper chicken kebab - so good. Cowboy burger was cooked to perfection and such a big portion - couldn’t finish it all. We visit regularly & it’s good to see regular menu changes so we never get bored of the food. Highly recommend

Always welcomed with a smile and on this occasion we booked a wee table for 3 of us. The Rowantree Restaurant & Staff are always so welcoming, We arrived a few minutes early and got taken to our table by Kai (who is such a lovely young gentleman) Erin was our server and has always got a service with a smile! Claire had taken our drinks order which arrived with 2 minutes or so, Erin then asked for our order..... cheeky wee starts to begin with, then we ordered our main Kebabs for 2 of us and our Lucas wanted the full works Gammon Steak! Our starters arrived in jig time...... Lucas loved his Mac & Cheese! Claire asked if we would like more drinks where my gorgeous wife got another large wine(cheers). The mains arrived with a smile from Erin! They looked and smelled amazing...... you could tell they were freshly prepared and the heat was immense! Brilliant. Yet another fantastic experience at our local Rowntree Restaurant. Thank you Erin. ❤

Very poor, arrived at 8 o'clock based on your food times reported online. Advised by staff that was a glitch and couldn't be fixed and that the kitchen closed at 8pm. Absolutely crackers, peek school holidays and your kitchen is shut at 8pm on a Thursday night.

Rather oddly, kitchen times were confirmed by the business 6 weeks ago as 9pm. Get here at 8:04pm and kitchen is shut. Checked the website and Google maps, both showing 9pm. "there's a glitch". With what, Google, your website and your staff who confirmed the times? Well, got 2 pints since we cycled 12 miles for food and drinks. Shame as I normally cycle through here in the summer but there's a few more pubs nearby worth a go.

Sat next to a fire exit that was opened and closed every 2 minutes, making it freezing cold. The level of common curtesy was so disgusting that people would deliberately leave it open knowing it was annoying us and staff were less than useless. The only reason I gave it 2 stars was because the food was OK, not great but edible.

Lovely place. Beautiful food and a really friendly atmosphere. There's a wee play area for the kids so it's a win on that front too. It's a nice regular spot for dinner.

Haven’t been back in a while as the last experience I had was not great , but I have to say the steak night special on this occasion was really good .The staff were friendly and attentive and the food was good , I will hopefully visit again soon .

Craig was our waiter. Very friendly and polite. My vegan meal was FANTASTIC. My partner had the steak and ale pie which he enjoyed. His son had the cheeseburger but said it was just ok! A lovely homely pub with an AWESOME play area for kiddies. We will definitely return

Restaurant was clean and tidy. Service was prompt, friendly and helpful. Starters were tasty. Main meals (sirloin) however had a lot of gristle and was very chewy the rest of the food was ok.

We have booked here on a few occasions as a larger group for meals because it is affordable and can easily accommodate larger tables. The staff have largely been really helpful and friendly. Food itself can be a bit hit or miss but the portions are a decent size and the menu varied enough to accommodate most. The place is very popular with families so can get quite loud at times.
