Very nice pub with attentive people behind the bar. Good beer selection with 4 hand pumps. Unfortunately these have been reduced to two due to lack of demand, but there is still one: Cask Ale. Totally cozy and classically furnished with small seating boxes and two levels.

Friendly staff, good choice of beers, reasonably priced.

On a Lochs & Glens coach trip staying at Loch Achray hotel and one of the day trips was to Edinburgh So i came in for some lunch and had the fish& chips which i throughly enjoyed very much

5 out of 5 the staff, beer and atmosphere were great, the staff went out of there way to help us get seating, they even brought our drinks over to my table as I walk with a stick. Very friendly and I will be back.

First time being here and the place has a wide range of drinks selections. The young barman who served us was very attentive, cheeky and always had a smile on his face. Will probably come back again the next time I visit Edinburgh.

My first one-star review. The staff member who served me was rude and shrugged off my questions. Meal and drinks were overpriced and of poor quality, overall not a pleasant experience.

Lobby and the team were super friendly and efficient. Everything you would want to showcase Edinburgh as a 5 star tourist destination. The best Gin and Dubonnet in Edinburgh.

Expected standard basic pub grub but instead we were treated to a truly lovely meal and lovely service. Pleasantly surprised and would return if we're ever in the area again.

My only night of the week to unwind spent sipping an extremely expensive and FLAT pint while overhearing the staff gossip about each other. This used to be a favourite of mine, I guess Chris has either lowered his standard with the bar staff or got himself a new job. Teuchters next time.

Wonderful authentic pub with a great brew. Very attentive staff and loved the individual tv screens at the table for the sport. Had a great lunch and felt valued and looked after as customers. Highly recommended.

Returned after a brilliant first experience here. This time was even better. Really nice pint of Innes and Gunn served with a massive portion of fish and chips which was delicious. Reckon I’ll be back again :)

Had a great meal, myself and partner had the Katsu curry chicken burger it was so different, it was great, will have that again

Wanted a chicken sandwich but that was out of stock. So I ordered the cheese sandwich, but I barely got any cheese. It was so dry. Very dissatisfied. The chef who cleaned up, asked how the food was, and after the reply we gave, he didn’t have anything to say and no apology or compensation was made. And possible the worst bathrooms I’ve witnessed. Both dirty, smelly and freezing. Also the staff sat 9. Dec at 12:00 seemed moody and that they didn’t want to be there.

Lovely place to watch sport, have drinks and a meal. Staff are friendly and food is great. Will be visiting again. Thank you guys for making us feel very welcome.

Lovely tradition pub in the heart of the Edinburgh. Great selection of beer and whiskey on our way to the whiskey tour. We had a mix of the share pub plates and it was what we needed. The service from Libby was great and very welcoming which makes the whole experience delightful for those travelling from London.

A cloudy pint was delivered ,Deuchars , to which he said ‘ it’ll clear ‘ but it didn’t and it wasn’t clearing. Then he decided Deuchars is always cloudy !! Make your mind up ! I often use this pub but never again . Avoid

Aesthetics and staff were very nice and polite. However was served a Tennents in some strange bog standard glass that left it dead almost instantly. Clearly a lack of leadership to otherwise well meaning staff.

Ridiculous prices for a bar that is average, far better bars in the area and at better prices. Could not recommend this place to anyone. Poor pub, poor service, expensive prices at £5 a pint. Not worth a visit

Went tonight with my partner and had a lovely time. Food was great- had a steak and fish & chips (recently discovered it’s a UK pub classic!- it’s pretty different from Aussie pubs!). Prices pretty reasonable by UK standards. Bartenders James & Darren were lovely, had a great experience. Would go again if we were in Edinburgh for longer than a night!

We stayed a short walk away for 2 nights & eat here both nights. We were supposed to go somewhere else the 2nd night but were so exhausted from walking - we decided to stick with this one. The staff were super friendly & helpful....

1st visit in almost 20 years. Bar hasn't changed much, but still has good selection of beers, as memory serves me. New additions though is individual tvs in booths, where customers can eat/drink. Food, of good quality and very reasonable (£13 for cheeseburger, chops and onion rings; given location so close to Princess Street. Could get quietly drunk and fed, while watching your favourite sport. Beer is reasonably priced (£1.30 less than a very similar pub 100 yards away!) for City Centre. Served in main (bar/food) by James, who was very friendly and knowledgeable. Good experience👍

Super accommodating bar staff who dealt with an influx of Bruce Springsteen fans a few mins before last orders! Thank you guys. Now the ladies toilets were weird.. the toilet flushed with steaming hot water so the seat was warm which was a strange experience. Then I went to wash my hands and no water came out so was unable to wash my hands. Bizarre but memorable I guess 😅

Watched the Newcastle game and had pub food. Super friendly bartender. Good cut off at 745p which seemed odd for game and trivia night.

Going completely down the pan as a pub, it's nothing like it used to be, rubbish service and toilets stink. Wouldn't go back

Rather disappointed today. Have been various other times and the food is usually good. Today I didn't enjoy the katsu chicken burger and garlic bread. Too much coleslaw on the burger, not served as a side portion so it drenched the burger bun making it cold. The garlic bread was just a bit baguette with cheese on top. Soft and non impressive. I do hope this was a one off but I expected better.

The place is photogenic and has very viby music their beer collection is really good, but the whisky isn't as better. People at the bar were so friendly and approachable attitude. Made me easy to choice the drink. Entirely my visit was good. Haven't tried the food yet. Next time will definitely turn up for food.

We walked here from our hotel and were going to have ONE drink but the lovely atmosphere and friendly bartenders, James and Eden made us stay the entire night. The food was amazing and the drinks were delicious. Do not miss this place if you want a wonderful and welcoming Scotland experience.
