Very nice pub, good amount of parking and love that it's dog friendly, just wish more of the pub was dog friendly as we were sat eating our lunch around a load of people sat on bar stools just drinking which wasn't very inviting and there wasn't any salt/pepper on the tables. Carvery was okay, not the best I've had in terms of vegetables offered and the roast potatoes weren't very crispy. That being said, the carvery was a very good price. Would recommend if friends were in the area looking for somewhere convenient to go.

First visit here but had visited its sister venue "steam wheeler" many times. Our waitress was super friendly. However, service was slightly delayed. My friends meal also had to be taken back to be re heated as it was not warmed through correctly. Good value for money despite the issue.

Very pleasant all staff. Andrew, Jeana, and Callum. Breakfast was delicious although more staff needed to top up apllejuice etc. Was made to feel really welcoming, and we had some issues on check in which were sorted at once. Well done, highly recommended!!

The service was excellent, & all the staff were really friendly. Everyone had a smile. The tai vegetable curry was delicious, & the Victoria sponge cheesecake was to die for. We stayed overnight & the room was spotless with a great shower & very comfortable bed. What’s not to love.

Had a wonderful stay at Queen of the Loch in October 2024. A well needed, quiet break. We ate in the pub for most of the stay and the food was served quickly and to my preferences, and was delicious. The staff are lovely, they can't help you enough. Only one thing I would say on the negative, but it is minor, the beds in the twin rooms are tiny and smaller than a standard single. So when you're used to a double or bigger you can sometimes be wary of rolling out but honestly, that was really minor, and we managed. Free on site parking is great and although not applicable to us, the hotel has facilities for electric car charging. The hotel was very clean and quiet and the area itself is quiet and scenic. Overall, I would rate our stay at Queen of the Loch 5/5, and would definitely stay again if ever in the area. Big thanks to the manager Andrew, and bar staff Gina and Callum, who looked after us so well, as did all of the staff but we only caught those names during our many wonderful conversations. Thankyou so much to everyone at The Queen of the Loch.

Good food, friendly staff. Nothing to add really.

Came to the restaurant with my parents and two kids as you can imagine eating out with kids can be tough, I was very impressed with the young lady that served us and also calmed my very ill tempered son not only did she calm him down but also got him to put on his much hated bib on and eat his food which was also delicious, will highly recommended this as a family friendly establishment and can I steal Natasha as my nanny! Cannot wait till we visit again!

Excellent food and service, really fair prices too. No complaints there. Went for a carvery on Monday, no one was around so I helped myself as I assumed I could! Can someone at the pub please tell the chef this wasn't personal and was a massive misunderstanding? He seemed extremely upset at this haha! Made me laugh but I do hope he's OK. He seemed really serious about it and I feel pretty bad now. Was a great couple of days.

A nice place to go, especially with dogs as it is not only welcoming, but has dog bowls, water and a selection of biscuits and treats. Staff were all really friendly and helpful, food is what you would expect, with a good menu and well priced. Would go again.

Great place to have a meal and chill

We had an excellent stay here our room was very clean the bed was really comfortable and the room was very quiet. You did hear occasional door banging but nothing throughout the night. The shower curtain was a bit short for the side of the bath so we did have some water over the edge but can’t fault the room in anyway. The Queen of the loch pub just across the car park offers really good value for meals and was nice to have a drink there in the evening We didn’t have breakfast, but lots of people were eating breakfast and it did look very nice . Overall a great stay.

First night in Scotland and stopped in here for a bite. The hot maple chicken wings was definite hit at our table and the carvery sated the hunger. I admit I didn't understand the first thing Abigail our waiter said to us but she spoke slower for us after that and was very helpful - all the staff were friendly and helpful. Not sure if it's a standard thing around here but I also loved that dogs are welcome inside.

Visited here as a family this morning for breakfast. This was a last minute decision driving past and I’m so glad we popped in. Our server Becca was so welcoming and helpful. She stayed patient when it took me so long to be able to have a minute to check the menu thanks to the kids. Food was cooked fresh. Added bonus of the continental breakfast bits along with a cooked breakfast. Will definitely be coming back the next time we are in the area! Becca was an absolute angel and deserves recognition for this within the company

All staff were very welcoming and hard working. Service for both the bar and food was quick and efficient.

Shocking food for the price had carvery never again roast potatoes brick hard needed a steak knife to cut meat

First experience here for dinner. My wife was looking forward to the jacket potatoes as we had seen on the internet menue but I had not seen that it was offered only during lunch time. She ordered lasagna that came with garlic bread and chips and a salad. Good sized portions and definately tated fresh and local. I ordered rump with salad, chips and roasted mushroom cap and half a large roasted tomatoe as well as garden peas. Again generous portions for the price. All the food was great and the rump ( ordered rare) was perfect! Sadly we were so enjoying our meal that I forgot photos but will remedy that next time as we are definately returning next day. Our server, Abigail, was top notch. She was the perfect combination of professional and personable....attentive without being intrusive. Hope they never lose her !

This was our perfect stay in our journey through Scotland. Our room was faultless and the restaurant was a perfect match. Abigail was so welcoming, providing us with all of the information and guidance we required. She assisted us to locate a specific place in Balloch so that we could connect with an organised tour and showed genuine interest in our itinerary, enquiring at later visits to the restaurant how our events had gone. Abigail is the perfect hostess for The Queen of the Loch. Thank you. Ross at the bar was very efficient and great to chat with.

Fuimos a las 6: 30 pm bruja es bastante temprano, pero se habían quedado sin vino y dos de las comidas solicitadas de la comida no estaban disponibles, tenían la mejilla para pedir una propina, la máquina de agarre en el área de juegos para niños estaba roto, y se quedaron sin vasos de postre para hielo - crema Sundaes, y también tuvimos que preguntar alrededor de 2 de las comidas dos veces, ya que simplemente se olvidaron de nosotros Pensé que era impactante ese nivel de servicio

Would highly recommend anyone to try this place, food was superb but waiting staff made it all the better, lovely lass Natasha was dealing with us and was soo lovely and friendly couldn't of done more for us and was so warm and friendly with my children. Makes going out for food with a baby alot easier when restraunts are family friendly like in here will be back soon

My wife and I popped in for dinner this evening, we shared breaded mushrooms (could have been used slightly longer in the fryer) though were nice. I had the gammon whilst my wife had the tikka, both very enjoyable. Natasha and Nicole were lovely! Very lively and always up for a good ol’ chat. We will certainly be returning 🙂👍

Hotel Rating. Reception is located in the pub, not inside the hotel building next door. Simple but very clean and comfortable hotel for a family, since there were 4 of us in the room. We liked it. It also has free parking. The only thing to keep in mind is that it has two floors and no elevator, but otherwise very comfortable.

Last visit over 4 years ago. We stopped going as service and food was not great. Glad we popped in on the off chance. Food and service have improved 10 fold. Will be back regularly from now on.

We chose to come to The Queen of the Loch as we were staying in the area and looking for a dog friendly pub. It was exceptionally dog friendly! There’s a lovely cosy area where dog owners can take their four legged friends and they were happy for our Yorkie to sit up beside us (we take a blanket for her to sit on and she’s good as gold) so that was lovely. Our food was absolutely delicious and came quickly although they did get the order wrong on my husband’s meal (he ordered the beef lasagne with chips instead of garlic bread but it arrived with garlic bread and no chips) but it was soon rectified and he got bowl of chips a few minutes later, plus let him keep the garlic bread by way of apology. We also had to ask for cutlery as the food arrived first, and then we also had to ask again for basic condiments like salt so perhaps you could provide cutlery and condiments at the time of order rather than waiting to bring them (or not bring them in our case!) after the food arrives. This was only a minor thing though and didn’t spoil our enjoyment of the food.

Needs renovation and maintenance. Lights where flickering and the benches where pealing off. Foos was ok but not amazing. The service was good though

A beautiful hotel, clean and comfortable room. We spent 4 nights there. The food, however, is not great. The continental breakfast is just a few toasted toasts, there is no jam, just honey. For the meal the chicken pie was not cooked enough, certainly defrosted. The blah sausages and the compact mash.

Stayed at the hotel and had food at the restaurant. Burgers were great. Service was also really good. Our server Cole was very friendly, would recommend. Breakfast was also good to start the day, Becca was very nice and welcoming.

Staff are polite and courteous and really try hard to make it a good customer experience, they can only work with what they are given. The food is terrible and pricey for a budget chain. Also Marstons allow dogs into their premises. Whilst we were there one I particular barked constantly. Wouldn't eat there again.

Only one towel for two people ? Door wouldn’t open twice and had to call front desk twice because of this. Frustrating when tired.

Breakfast was ok'ish, dinner was great. There are tables outside which is nice in case the weather is good. Felt a bit expensive overall.

Very welcome break after touring the west of Scotland, quality food and drinks, staff efficient and courteous.

We stayed at the campsite opposite (lovely!) for 2 days whilst visiting Scotland and our eyes lit up when we saw a carvery advertised at Queen of the Loch. Sadly, the food wasn’t great. I don’t know if we got them at a bad time but the carvery looked sad. The potatoes looked anaemic, the meat so tough that we couldn’t cut it and the vegetables like they’d been there a week - dry, limp and scrapes at the bottom. The service and atmosphere itself was absolutely fine, thank you, but I am sorry to say that the roast isn’t anything to get your hopes up for.

Manager was extremely rude to another table. Albeit, they weren't the easiest customers, but she was extremely unprofessional. Our breakfasts were very much below any standard I'd have expected. We didn't wish to complain as we'd witnessed the other table be told they were dramatic. Coffee ran out twice (we were one of 4 tables in). Expected machine or filtered coffee. Served in big plunger flasks. Juice was all empty, only water available. Hot water was cold, milk was empty. Hot food was not nice at all. Pancakes were so disappointing and bacon was disgusting. We just paid and left.

Everything correct, nothing remarkable. Perhaps the location and parking space, if you go by car it is easy to go visit places, or even go to the center of town to shop at the bakery, the supermarket or whatever you need.

My hiking pal and me stayed here on the first night of our West Highland Way adventure. Becca was amazing, ultra-helpful with everything and, having walked the WHW several times herself, gave us awesome tips - particularly where to get the best ice cream in Balmaha! Give that girl a pay rise 👏 🙌

Friendly family meal. Very good burgers. A downside on the service because you have to pay for your dish before being served: you honestly have the impression of being suspected of being a bad payer.

We had a great time here at The Queen of the Loch. The food was simple pub fare, but it was served quickly and was delicious. Ordering from the table was really straightforward, and Calum our server was friendly throughout.

I would like to thank our server Ethan, who was absolutely lovely, very friendly and nice to chat with. Overall the food was amazing, would recommend here. I would definitely come back again.

Unfortunately it came down, tables were sticky, food came differently than ordered. It all seemed loveless and dingy. Like almost everything here in town. Only the new Indian is recommended.

My sister and friend took me for a birthday breakfast very disappointed water for tea was tepid ordered the bacon mushroom and cheese omelette not a mushroom in sight and very oily and the size of a side plate first time trying the breakfast can honestly say I won't be returning for a second try 🙃

Wow! Where to start?! I have stayed at the Queen of the Loch several times during my visit to the area. Most recently while taking part in the west highland way. Andrew and the team are incredibly welcoming! Rebecca looked after me during my recent visit and was a sheer delight! Brilliant atmosphere and yummy food! What more can you ask for after a long day's hike?!?! Cannot recommend enough!

Haven't been back in a while as the last time few times it hasn't been up to usual standards. What a difference- staff lovely and food was beautiful and carvery fresh! Will be back, we live local so will recommend again. Special shout to Natalie, she is super friendly and really attentive.

Well had a nightmare stay here and decided to do a review . Had a reply to phone a number so that it could be resolved. Phoned the number which was the hotel manager ,who in return didn't know anything about it. So he told me head office will be in touch within 3 days .3 weeks later nothing!! Kind of sums it all up for me.

I would not advise anyone to eat here. The carvery was terrible. I've been hit in the face with a house brick before and I'm not lying when I say that house brick was softer than the coliflour they tried to serve me. -5 out of 10, totally disgusting. What a waste of money

Back in Scotland for a week with the family after travelling up from England and South Wales. Great to be back. Abbie our waitress was 10 out of 10. Very polite and general customer service was outstanding! Well done team Queen Of The Loch 👍

Had a great early lunch here. Food very tasty and staff very friendly. Our server was Becca who was lovely, and chatted with us about our next destination. The slices of cake are enormous! The restaurant is also dog friendly with a pooch station which had water and treats! Perfect !

We had a very good Sunday roast here and the service was also good with friendly staff. I think it would have been nice to have been offered a choice of areas to sit rather than the kids area due to us having an infant in the party (our wee customer was only eight weeks old so couldn't really access the kids facilities). The food was typical of a carvery and the price was acceptable. Overall a good experience.

My Family and I had a meal here Thursday evening. I ordered the ultimate burger, but got a cowboy burger and we ordered popcorn chicken from the starter menu for our youngest daughter, and were told it could be made into a larger portion as a main meal with chips, which we ordered, unfortunately it came as a small portion and brought out as a starter with no chips. My wife’s meal didn’t even arrive and we had to reorder, by this time we had all eaten our food and my wife had to wait and eat alone. To add to this the ‘red onion gravy’ was just gravy with uncooked pieces of red onion in it! In all fairness the staff were very apologetic and we had a small refund for the difference in the price of the burger.

Absolute shocking service tonight. Despite table booked and pretty quiet it took 15 minutes to get a drinks order taken. My wife's meal was served 15 minutes after this, had to ask where our drinks were and where my meal was. Mine came another 10 minutes afterwards and had to request missing items. Food was good though will be a while before I think about going back to this local restaurant. Nothing worse than a Manager blaming new staff.

Celebrated my fathers 80th birthday here with a meal and drinks. A good choice for a celebration dinner. Good food, pleasant staff and clean and tidy areas. The carvery was very nice and good value. A good selection of desserts available too.

can’t recommend it for big group, the food was not ok and they got most of our orders incorrect, either incomplete or overcooked. :( we probably went back to the cashier to complain at least 5 times.

Went for late lunch on a Wednesday. Got our order mixed up and end up waiting for an hour to get our orders right. Crew is a bit rude when we started complaining as well. Food is a bit bland but overall fine.

The Queen of the Loch was recommended to us. Unfortunately we were severely disappointed. While the rest of the food was ok, the House Salad was a total disappointment. We normally do not order a salad in a pub, but the description in the menu was so tempting that we tried it. What we got were some mixed and already very wrinkly leaves with a very dry chicken breast and bacon on it. No quinoa, brown rice, soy beans or fried onions and definitely no dressing. The waitress told us the other ingredients were out of stock and there was dressing on the salad mixed with the leaves (although the leaves and the plate were visibly totally dry. She would bring us dome „extra“ dressing. All in all the salad was a disaster and definitely not worth the price. While it is ok that ingredients can go out of stock, the way the problem was dealt with was also a major part of our dissatisfaction. If we were just told that the salad is not possible in this way when we ordered we would definitely have found enough other options. Also, the visible lack of any kind of dressing should not be encountered with „it is in there“.

I only wanted a coffee while my car was charging, the service was brilliant and off the back of that we will be staying with you when we next visit Lomond.

The Queen of the loch has a beautiful setting but when it comes to service it is very very poor. My husband and I have come in this afternoon for a drink and sat outside. The outside area is not very well kept. We sat for over an hour and a table was half cleared in the sheltered area, there was staff serving customers with food and this also included the manager and no one cleared the table before we left!! I feel sorry for the tourists that come to this area and spend money when they come to a place that can't be bothered setting decent standard.

We stopped off here for dinner and a car charge on the way to Skye. The service was friendly and the food was easy to order, quick to appear, and very tasty. Recommended.
