Maxims in West Dunbartonshire

Purchased a spicy chicken pizza and had to bin it..... Reason being: The server must've used three blocks of cheese for my pizza....... The amount of cheese she used could've probably have entertained between 4-6 pizzas..... It was vile due to the above reasons.... Ps: The roll and chips was nice

got black pudding supper it must have been lying for a week as i couldn't cut through the batter not even with a chef's knife gave up and threw it in the bin so disappointed

Reasonable chips - not the best I’ve had but good enough! Well located near the station. Prices are ok for what you get but not a generous as other chippies for sure.

Fresh tasty food at good value.. More on the menu than previously before Cash or card payments and also deliveries 7 days Oven or fried pizzas are really tasty

UNFORTUNATELY!!!!The new owner has opted to change chips, looks like he has gone for frozen so not the quality we are used to from these guys. Profit over quality. But will have opposite effect I would think as new chips are not very nice at all, thim tasteless and go cold quicker. WELL DONE FOR TAKING A GOOD CHIPPY DOWNHILL 👎👎👎👏👏👏

The food was lovely. The fish had a light, golden and crispy batter but soft and flaky inside. The chips were chunky and not greasy and the fritters were huge. The service was okay but I kind of felt a little ignored at first as I waited a few minutes to get served when there wasn't a queue and I didn't get acknowledged in that time.

Stop taking orders if you can't do the deliveries! Over 2 hours for a delivery is unacceptable

Very disappointed twice now, chips are going in bin too cold, fried pizza warmish but barely cooked, as chips same could have been cooked longer waste of money tbh

Used this chippy for years and since it got taken over, the chips are now terrible. They need to go back to the products that were used before. The chips need fatten up or something

Just been in this chippy for the first time the service is fantastic and staff are very nice food is out of this world definitely be back again thanks guys

Got order couple of weeks ago was great got order tonight and the pizza looked like it had green mold on bottom.phoned to speak to manager who was not in .the basically didn't care .will not be back again .

My first experience with a scottish chippy. The food was nice, well drained of oil. Staff were great and patient with this foreigner. Plan to go back before I leave the country.

Absolutely fantastic fish and chips big portion freshly cooked and very hot on delivery.

lazy staff, terrible customer service, you would think age comes with experience but it doesn't in maxims case.

Disappointing when request salt and vinegar on everything and arrives without, would be worth reading order properly

Food is always great and not too greasy which is the case with some chippys near here. Prices are great and staff are always friendly, even with the recent managment change there has been bo impact on service or quality

Been going here for years as it's always dynamite. I see this week it has new owners so let's hope the quality stays.

Not sure whats happened to this place but its gone right down hill. Ordered a large chips and cheese but when I got home the box was almost empty. What a joke.

The chips taste amazing I’m from Liverpool but I live in Edinburgh and I’ve not been able to find a chippy that has what I call proper chips for 18 years i go to Glasgow for one day and it’s just like being in my home city I have found proper chips at last 😊

This is the local chippy and the fish and chips are lovely. They are always fish and never seem to be sitting long when they come out of the fryer

Have been using this chippy for a few months now & never been disappointed. Last night ordered a large order £43, I can honestly say everyone loved everything they had. Thank you.

If I could get a lower rate I would, I have been in here twice and they both time the food was horrible, the chips were not cooked properly and this time round the pizza ( Cheese and Onion) was burnt and handed to us, I was looking forward to the food but I will not be coming back at all, disappointed isn't the word!!

I can only assume the other reviews are from family and friends, I have just got soggy chips and wet fish, dreadful !!!! I cannot eat any of this, never again.

Delicious food always made fresh to order. Pizza crunch & king ribs are amazing! Staff are always helpful.Great chippy.

Excelente comida para llevar, las frituras son de lo mejor que he probado en mi vida, la pasta es increíble, encantador y crujientes, no pasada como todos los otros lugares. Es una pena que sólo cocinar una cantidad limitada, así que tienes que llegar temprano. Es un chip shop, no es un restaurante, por lo que es difícil de tarifa que en nada aparte de la comida, que es muy buena, un personal amable.

Got a few meals from this local Chippy that has loads of chips so great value for your money and the batter isn't bad either.

This is my local chippie and I adore their Pizza's. The value for money and taste can knock the socks of any of the large conglomerates. Their special fish is amazing. It is an all round excellent chippie. They also do lunch time special prices.

Great fish and chips. Both cooked perfectly and all tasted fresh. You can tell the oil was fresh. Also good value for money too. Varied menu, but couldn't resist the fish supper.

Great little chip shop, never had stale or chips that had been lying too long. Try the pizzas, cracking value and very tasty. Compare the prices to national outlets, Maxims is a double six.

I have been going to maxims for well over a year and have enjoyed every portion of fish and chips. The fish is haddock, not whiting as served by other fish shops. The chips taste of potato and not cardboard. I honestly never buy from anywhere else when we want fish and chips. Yumm yumm
