Dj was late disnt turn up until an hour after and drinks dearer in the function hall than in the bar not very fair considering you pay for the hall and dj you would think you would get the drinks at normal rate

Friendly staff can have a quite drink during day then at night always some entertainment on

Stayed at Wooler caravan park .. went to the riverside bar .. food looked and smelt amazing .. we just got refreshing drinks very friendly and very helpful staff have a fab beer garden to sit in, games room to and good entertainment x

Have heard good reports about the food. We arrived at 12.10pm Sunday only to be asked to return after 1pm as there had been a function on the night before and they don't set up till one when this is the case. Disappointed and did not return - can't comment on the food! We didn't return as we were ready to eat at the time advertised as being open - not an hour later. At least if this IS the case please advertise as such or at the very least put a note on the door to advise customers before they come in. X

Absolute gorgeous food. Staff pleasant and polite. Hidden gem of place. Lunchtime menu great prices and food was not what I was expecting to come out in all honesty. Smashing. Will visit again when visiting. Were not local (Preston)

Nice venue for parties. Parking rather limited. Wheelchair access possible but not ideal. Bar prices rather excessive for the amenities offered. Buffet food good.

Lovely very reasonably priced food in a lovely atmosphere. Nice quiet lunch in the lounge or a lively afternoon in the bar.

A charming local restaurant, serving a variety of pub grub favourites. Service was friendly, although not the fastest (we were the first ones in for lunch on Saturday). Appetizers are fantastic, but the main course was let down by the mountain of fries that came with it which tasted cheap and were mostly cold. Nevertheless, recommend a visit!

We went for a two course meal that we had got off Groupon I had starter of haggis bon bons to die for would recommend and I had BBq chicken and bacon pizza great size and my other half had Spicy tomato pasta we amazing and and because he couldn't have desert because he was to full she offered a piece of cake to take with us. When using the Groupon just show voucher code no need to print unless u would prefer to such great and welcoming Staff and amazing food will for sure be back

On a snowy night we decided to take a walk to this local restaurant. They have a meal deal which is 2 courses each and a bottle of wine with a free taxi home for the first 2 miles. We Ordered spicy chicken wings which were delicious. Followed by Cajun chicken pasta and a macaroni burger both which were delicious and the portion sizes were to say the least large. This was followed by a morish chocolate cake and a clava with coffee and chocolates. The wine was lovely too. The member of staff who served us was very attentive and professional. We've been here a couple of times and it didn't seem busy. I don't know why more local people do not eat here. The surroundings are cosy and modern. Will definitely be eating here again.

My family previously had a meal here which was excellent re fish & chips it was excellent as described in past reviews.We visited on Sunday ordered the same meal and was so let down.No chunky chips and not very good quality fish ? I gave the owner a chance to respond before I wrote this and as I expected he was not there and admitted the quality of food we were presented with was not up to his expectations.May be a phone call before we book to ensure the same quality is achieved as per tripadvisor reviews ?

Food was lovely staff was brilliant

I used to love this place but visited today and it was like a completely different place! The homemade they advertise is now non existent! I had my usual fish and chips and it was frozen fries and fish! When I asked why it had changed I was told sometimes they do fresh chips sometimes they do frozen fries! Not good enough! Such a shame used to be so nice!

Had eaten here before and was my worst experience of eating out. However my son convinced me to give it a try as they had a new chef...WOW am I glad I did.. freshly cooked dishes that were well presented from Martin the chef and tasted awesome. Would definitely recommend to anyone and will certainly be returning soon. Well done guys what a turn around!!

The food here is amazing. Could not fault the food and the portions are more than big enough! The staff are very friendly and can't do enough! Would definatly recommend!

Had lunch at this restaurant ordered the sharing platter which was lovely my husband ordered the chicken fajitas which were also very nice the chicken enchilada on the other hand was rotten! Swimming in sauce and completely soggy only ate a small amount before sending it back I was offered something else but just Wanted a refund for it the supervisor came out with a disgusting attitude!! (customer service training badly needed) telling me I had to pay for it because I had touched it don't think I've ever been spoken to like that definitely will not be back and wouldn't recommend. Got a refund in the end after arguing with the supervisor over the situation.

Been here many times, the food is excellent. Would say it's homely/pub grub style, just done well. Very cheap, with good sized portions. Would highly recommend the chicken gujons.

As not from local area it was a bit difficult to find and ended up calling for directions which were perfect, the owner and chef was very welcoming and giving us the choice to eat in restaurant or in outdoor area which is small but comfortable. We were served by Louise who was well aware of items on menu and able to provide more in-depth information when asked, food was hot and well presented, a little on the large side, steak pie was perfect. Louise was able to offer details of available cocktails and ingredients. Prices were excellent and easy on the purse. During the week kitchen closes at 7.30, Groupon deal allowed us to book for 8pm, at no time from our arrival was it mentioned or were we made to feel we were stopping staff from getting home if anything the exact opposite, it was only when I asked Louise that she provided meal times. Lovely staff and facilities.

Have visited this gem a few times now and have not been disappointed once the meals are top notch, the steaks I've had have been the best I have had anywhere cooked to perfection, family love popping in as often as we can and have loved all there meals can't speak highly enough about the staff nothing is any problem to them.... My partner and I visited with her 21 year old son for a meal for his birthday.... the staff were very welcoming and friendly and the girl who served us was extremely helpful We all ordered a starter and a main and both dishes were presented well and both were absolutely delicious I'd have no problem recommending the riverside bar and restaurant to others

Been here many times with the family, food is great and kids made to feel very welcome. Visit regularly as it's right on our doorstep.

Afternoon Tea with Cocktails (This was a Groupon Deal ) very nice, although I would liked to have had a Pot of Tea to go with it � Good value for money, staff were slightly disorganised for us considering in was booked in advance and the Cocktails advertised were not available, but otherwise it was a pleasant experience, friendly staff & lovely food

Great craic on a Thursday night with the auld boys fae still game. Grub in lounge is great quality for the money. Lunchtime menu reasonably priced and staff are very friendly. Barmaid Izzy gives all guests a warm welcome.

TL;DR: relaxed environment, casual pub/restaurant that the owner cares about leading to a good experience. Full: A cute and cozy place. This is clearly the love of the owner, and he tries hard to ensure you're happy. He was our waiter during the visit. We dropped by based on good reviews here in Google Maps and we're not disappointed​. The food was good, and the atmosphere was relaxed and positive. If you want fancy eating with candles and dim lights, this isn't your place, but if you like good food at decent prices in a relaxed and brighter environment... I recommend this place. (The room generally allows in a good amount light... Not an easy feat in such a cloudy country!) While I didn't use them, there were leather (-like?) couches and chairs available to sit down and eat which I thought was a benefit to the relaxed environment this place is encouraging.

Food was incredible here !! Staff were very professional and could not believe how great the value for money was ! Without a doubt 10 out of 10 . If your local or are visiting the area definetly go here !
