So disappointed, I checked before ordering and time and time again mcmonagles came up as best for pizza in Clydebank. Spent 65 quid on pizza for family occasion, pizza chewy, skimpy on toppings and overall a complete disappointment.

Not a big team because the original time for delivery was over half and hour

The chips weren’t nice at all there was a lot off chips with nothing on them but crumbs

The fritters are usually yummy but they were quite greasy the quality of the rest of the food was great but it was supposed to be an hours wait for it to get made and delivered but I ended up waiting an hour and 40 minutes which it crazy and there was no update on the app when my delivery time went over it didn’t update until I requested it 15 mins after the original time.

Option was chicken tikka put chicken mayonnaise on the notes was not read I received chicken tikka my side salad lettuce tomatoes peppers onions were added no coleslaw I phoned restaurant and spoke to the lady asked the next time I order can get free baked potato with salad coleslaw she was going to ask the manger I should get one as this is not my fault every thing else with the order is great

First visit here to take advantage of gluten free options. Two of our party had the GF haddock which was crispy and delicious. Ask for the GF vinegar!The chips were underwhelming. Servings are very generous and service was friendly and quick. It was a Thursday evening and there weren’t many diners in the restaurant so I imagine there’s a wait during busy times. The bathrooms were surprisingly clean and luxurious for a boat restaurant. Free close parking is a bonus. There’s a nice canal walk where you can burn off some of the consumed calories! There several gluten free desserts but we were too full to try them.

From beginning to end of ordering to delivery it was very quick and easy. Our order was piping hot and delicious. Our Courier was very polite and friendly.

Didn’t deliver the rolls i paid for. Wasn’t traditional links either. Not really impressed to be honest. Was worth a try but won’t order breakfast again.

I placed an order at 16.26 and this was delivered at 19.16 !! Really poor service. I would be grateful for an explanation as to why ?? I have proof of both times. How do I go about raising an official complaint??

Delivery is an extremely long time, Friday night, the food wasn’t cooked long enough, our potato skins were hard, served with lovely fresh salad but undercooked, this was what I was looking forward to, put it down to a busy Friday, had better quality Fish too, it’s not cheap for Fish, we would expect better, some items cold, not usually cold, but was on this occasion, disappointing. 😕

Our order was delivered earlier than expected which we appreciated very much. The Courier that brought our Order was very courteous with the delivery.

This place has great artwork and is extremely cute.The food comes in a fish shaped plate and is very cool.The food was delish.It does the breakfast till 4pm if you want a late breakfast and is open from 11am till 10pm.There is only one toilet which was also very clean.

Glorious day today so we took a wee drive from Southside of Glasgow to West End, all the way to Clydebank. Destination was lunch at the highly recommended McMonagles - the fish ‘n’ chip boat on the canal. Plenty of good parking and only a wee stroll from there to the restaurant. We were excited to try here and it did not disappoint! Nicely busy for a mid-week lunch and got a table for 2 without booking. Excellent menu with lots of options - we ordered “Catch of the Day” and it was huge! 12oz cod/haddock with chips along with a choice of peas/beans as well as tea/coffee/soft drink. Staff were very attentive, lovely smiles and happy to help. One negative was that the restaurant is upstairs and the wheelchair accessible lift was out of order. I have mobility problems but was able to make it upstairs. If going and you need wheelchair access, perhaps call ahead to ensure the lift is working. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and barely finished (no dinner for us tonight lol). Highly recommend this restaurant.

Was ok before went down hill and prices are to high

We had a fantastic meal, staff were very accommodating and friendly. Food was of a very high quality and standard, service was excellent. We will be returning at a later date as it was so good.

Had some senior citizens today lift was out of order and debbie, and her staff went that extra mile to accommodate us big thank you and we will be back

I wanted to try here because of all the good reviews, and I wasn’t totally disappointed. My wife loved her chicken sandwich and the gravy she ordered for her chips. My kids loved their food and ice cream. I absolutely cherished the haggis fritters. They were incredibly good and perfectly prepared. I just have to admit, I really disliked my fish and chips. The fish was very rubbery and had a not so fresh taste. I couldn’t finish it.

ordered at 19.30, delivered at 20.34. wouldn't have ordered if I knew it was going to be that long.

Really like the unique setting, kind of wish I had a boat so I could go to the sail-thru takeaway! I had haddock and chips and my husband had cod, chips and mushy peas. Both meals were really tasty. Unfortunately, let down by the tartare sauce, wasn't very nice. Personally would prefer butter on the bread, but I would definitely go back again.

My husband and friends had fish and chips best place for this. I had a baked potato it was lovely and fluffy with plenty of tuna. They give you generous portions

Sadly we didn’t receive the free chips but other than that good was excellent.

I left a note for the staff to read for what I would like with my panini it was listen to the salad I would prefer more lettuce and peppers please it did not read I would like a side of chips with the spicy chicken one there is a picture it shows side of chips do not understand why it did not come with chips I hope in future I dont need to ask and it comes with chips

Nipped in for some fish and chips. Mentioned we had a child with a dairy and soya allergy and they were quick and helpful going so far as to check the flour the fish was cooked in. Food was delicious. Staff incredibly helpful.

I always get the 2 piece of fish supper, so can share with my cat. the portion of fish and chips is getting much smaller and pricer. the haggis fritters were lovely with the peppercorn sauce (which was lovely and hot), only thing that was. everything else nearly cold. Not the experience usually from McMonegals.

This place has been a staple part of my life since it first opened I remember when the boat arrived I can tell you it didn't come up the canal but it should have customer service is great and fast the food be great.... I remember John didn't have grey hair back in the day.... I ran in to him not so long ago he is a great guy and Clydebank community respects him for his many years of service.... I always get a single sausage and a portion of fritters tho I can't remember the last time I was in the upstairs restaurant I think I was 12 but I bet it's no changed I'd recommend all to atleast try it and tell me I'm lying it's not as greasy as some of the chippies I've ate from over the years Here's to you j.mcmongle THANK YOU FOR AWE THE YEARS OF FINE TAKEAWAY...... Was my favourite resturant but theyv increased prices greatly now and its not worth the price for what you get now therefore iv decided not to return as im not overpaying for something i can get elsewere

Love this place, it's always so good. Had the steak pie for the first time. It seemed all wrong not to have fish, but I'm glad I did it was sooooo tasty. Now I will have to choose between Steak Pie and Fish and Chips every time I go🫣

Brilliant chippy. Sitting in the restaurant is the best option and the food is fantastic, it has a bar, for those who like a little tipple with your meal.

Normally a decent pizza. On this occasion the pizza base was soggy also tasted sour ate 3 slices with the topping scraped off before realising it was the base that was off.

all the food was excellent, and it took about an hour to arrive, which it stated when ordered. Everything was hot and lovely :)

Order time was good. Food quality was good as always. Only thing was I t required heating up in the microwave. Then it cooled down quickly while eating and had to be rehearsal again. Not as good as when serve in their restaurant. Everything is piping hot.
