Lunch was delicious, the portions are huge , everything is so fresh and tasty ! There is loads on the menu , service was excellent!

Great chippie, good portions and the prices of the food are reasonable. The staff are friendly and cheery. The takeaway is always clean and bright. You don't need to wait long on your order, except when you are getting it delivered, which can take a while. Can't comment on the restaurant area as we haven't been to it for a long time. We would recommend McMonagles to all.

Pretty decent fish supper here! The batter is light and crispy. Chips are not greasy at all. One great idea... The cartons they serve it in have a divider, which separates the fish from the chips. This stops the fish batter getting soggy from the steam off the chips. Simple but genius! Went back recently for a sit in. You can get a large haddock with plenty chips and a drink for £15.75. Bloody delicious! Great service too.

From the moment we walked through the door we were looked after! Seating is pretty basic but the staff were lovely! We opted for fish and chip supper plus a smaller OAP version. The plate came with a cold drink and tea - fish and chip supper would not be complete without a chip butty. The mushy peas were perhaps warm versus hot. I saw they offered deep fried ice cream - so we had a go - there is a first time for everything. (Not on the weight watchers menu) The menu also offered other non fish and chip food like pizza , chicken and burgers in addition to a full drinks option. For those who struggle with stairs there is a lift. Toilets were clean. I have to emphasise the willingness of the staff to please - a real treat. We would certainly visit again.

Food was exceptional, the best fish I've tasted in years, and we will definitely be back. Our waitress was so friendly and attentive to my autistic daughter she is a credit to the business and made the full experience a delightful one😊

absolutely great service my son didn't notice the steak pie supper at the bottom of the bag so next time I'm in Clydebank I'll pop in and pay for the 2nd one you sent out I respect the fact the driver brought another one out I can only apologize for the mixup

I cancelled my first order because I forgot to put no salt and vinegar for one of them as I hate it, but they still put it on both! I will never eat out of here again! cost me a fortune not to enjoy my food! I would give it 0 stars if I could! I'm still raging about it!

I ordered macaroni supper. macaroni was nice but the chips were really undercooked. they were really hard if I'd have eaten them I would have had a sore stomach. its a pity.

I never thought I'd ever say this about Mcmonagles but my recent order wasn't very nice 😕 black pudding tasted off and texture was weird.

£25.45 for OAP Cod and OAP Haddock, plus 1 appletise drink. Too pricey I'm afraid.

Came early, hot and tasty. Although, my sausage supper was missing a sausage. I double checked my recipe and I definitely ordered 2 links.

Ordered a sausage supper to share with my daughter. Long wait but expected as it was a Friday evening. Got home and was majorly disappointed when we opened the box. 2 thin, extremely well done at one end sausages which looked like they'd been sitting for an eternity. I think they put extra chips into compensate for the sorry sausages. Chips weren't much better. Waste of £7.50. Won't be back.

Pizza was inedible the curry sauce for the chips was far too hot and lumpy waste of £17.00 we had to put the pizza and chips and curry in the bin. Never had a problem with McMonagles before it will be a long time before we order again from there.

Fabulous indoor / outdoor seating area always a decent fish supper. I shared with the starlings they where quite funny little friendly things cheered up my day

First time trying this chip shop / restaurant. We had takeaway as it was a glorious evening and we wanted to sit outside on the picnic tables. We had a fish supper and also pizza and both were absolutely delicious. Can’t believe we have only discovered this place , will definitely be back !

I am sincere to say we won't be back after being in for a wee brickie on Tuesday with my husband, the food was cold my Potato scone was burnt & turned over, whoever dished this up should be given this meal to eat. Food was not the best. The only reason I didn't complain at the time my husband would get very upset, I have spent many years in catering in my working life. Disgusted doesn't quite cover my feelings.

Enjoyed the Fish & Chips aboard this ship-like restaurant! Jacket potato with tuna is recommended. Also the kids have their menu and we had fish fingers and chips. Also the Margarita pizza 🍕 (cheese pizza) was great. They offer other meats & drinks as well, including halal options. Service was great & the atmosphere is accommodating & delightful.

For years we have made a detour to McMonagles every time we visit Scotland and now we have to say that it was our last visit. Over the years the quality and taste of the "Fish & Chips" (Take Away) has deteriorated greatly. The haddock was good, the breading was bland and not crispy, the chips were soft and sticky. In addition, the staff is listless and difficult to understand. The entire ship could also use a general overhaul. A pity!

The homemade steakpie was sooo good.

Every item was excellent and hot.

Way too expensive. In 2 years its went from 10 pounds, to 13 pounds, to a staggering 15.75 for the catch of the day, that's just sheer greed and a rip off, in Blackpool you get the same and haddock for 5.95, plus less chips now as well at Mcmonagles, I'm not short of money but I simply refuse sheer greed and being ripped off, after many years myself and friends I recommended this place to from Upnorth will simply not be back

We have had lots of takeaway from the fish boat but we ordered Fish and Pizza tonight and it was really bad the fish had no taste and over done The pizza was really bad the toppings were terrible and came out all over the box was really disappointing as the tomatoes sauce was disgusting I had to throw it all away I don’t think we will be ordering again we were supposed to get a free meal with our points we made never got it not to happy really disappointing

I ordered calzone pizza 12" I recived 10" ... however it doesn't matter as calzone after first bite - go straight to the bin. Pizza was disgusting 🫣 not baked well, cheese... I'm not sure what was that, some chewy glue product. Very cheep ingredients The worst one I've ever tried. £14.30 for this never again!!!!

Delivery driver was polite and friendly. Macaroni was very tasty and kept warm in its style of conditioner. The chips were very lukewarm, however I put them in the microwave. I like chips hot and freshly cooked. Need to go to restaurant to get this.

Good food at a good price can’t complain. Gravy’s amazing.

Used tobe a favourite Saturday night chippy but wont be back. Reheated greasy chips and wrong order again which not noticed til we got home. What's happened to the fish? Chippies aren't cheap any more and think the boat could do better. Eating in is always great so why not the same for your takeaways?

Place never let's ye down food os always banging I always get fish and mushrooms starters but tried steak pie for change and wad lovely so was sticky toffee pudding kids always get mac n cheese love it ... if u not uet tried this place then ur missing out hands down best around quality family run business

Been here years ago and it hasn't changed ,does the best fish suppers ,the chips were even delicious

Been going here for years but recently the standards of the food has declined. Most recently the "haddock" definitely isn't haddock it's that cheaper fish which is very very thin being passed off as haddock. Very greasy, flaky and doesn't taste of anything. The chips are different now too they are greasier and chunkier than before. Ended up binning it. The homemade steak pie isn't what it used to be either, tiny wee bits of steak in a watery sauce. The service is very good however and staff are friendly but the food is pretty rubbish compared to how it used to be.

Have ordered a few times before & always been good but last nights order was slow and apart from the Mac n cheese which was good , the chips were dry, lukewarm and tasted like reheats , disappointing

Staff are so polite, child friendly my 5yr old was given crayons and a menu to colour in, food was amazing atmosphere was brilliant it was a little warm on the Saturday I attended so the waiting staff let me keep the menu as a fan

This place is overpriced for what's on offer the .fish and chips are very greasy that fish still need's filleting and slices of fish still had lots of bones . very thin excessive batter so hold the cooking fat so think before spending nearly £11 on rubbish as that's where it will go

Located in the town centre it's very easy to get too. The premises are clean and the atmosphere is so good. The food is first class but a bit pricey. Staff are so friendly and helpful.

Great wee place. We have sat in lots of times after taking kids swimming locally, always fresh and tasty with a great service. The kids really love the big plate of bread and butter served along side. Had a takeaway today, just as good as we remember ! Special mention for the gravy also, really tasty. We won’t leave it so long next time

Great themed restaurant, go aboard and enjoy some excellent fish and chips. The boat is such a novelty to have a meal in the restaurant or a takeaway

Decided to take a trip from Lanark to Clydebank to experience the chippy boat and we were not disappointed. Great meal, had the deep fried mushrooms, fish cakes and catch of the day, All were delicious served quickly and pipping hot. No complaints. To quote a famous movie star "I'll be back", or in our case we will be back.

Another fantastic Catch of The Day - Fish Tea,, the service was wonderful the young man couldn't be more helpful and is an asset to your staff. We have tried fish teas in other restaurants and there is no comparison to McMonagles, we are never disappointed, the key being beautiful fresh fish..Thank You for another lovely lunch.

Food when it arrived was not nice and looked as if it had been sitting out for a while. After eating the food my son and I were extremely unwell with stomach problems for days afterwards.

Loved it, the food was excellent and plentiful although at the end of the day it was a fish and chip place but cooked well.Myself and my mate mate had the catch of the day,large fish with chips/peas/beans/coleslaw ,started with the prawn cocktail very cool and plenty of .The young waiter was very pleasant and efficient Will be back
