Tickled Trout in Glasgow City

Food has dropped is standards we ask for no cheese on the burger it was on it the chicken curry was warm and the rice was over cooked and stogy i think it was my last visit. Have used the Tickled trout for years twice aweek with mum.

Good food and great customer service. Would highly recommend.

Full ONE HOUR wait for the food at 30 percent tables occupied. 😠🥺 Sea bass on the menu but it is not available, lamp shank on the menu but it is not available, ribeye steak on the menu but, you guessed it, It is not available. Coffee arrived before the meal and was cold by the time food was on the table. Food was lukewarm as well on arrival. Asked for a salad, was gived a very small amount of complexity wilted salad leaves and three tiny cherry-tomatoes, I had to share a lemon wedge from another person's plate at our table. No, it should not be me chasing the waiter and asking for a lemon, it should have been the kitchen's job to put it on the plate without asking. If there are 100 seatings/ tables, there should be enough kitchen staff to coop with 30 of peoples orders. 30 percent capacity is not "busy", it is mostly empty. Eternity of waiting in the cold room. Terrible experience.

Christmas dinner service was terrible

Staff were very friendly and tried there best to be helpful. Food was lovely. Big kids portions. Food and service was very slow - took 30 mins to order and then waited another 45mins for our food (main course only). Shambles trying to order a gluten free meal. Was given a tablet which didn't have any info on the main course of the regular menu only the festive menu. Tablet had no information on items that could easily be made gluten free, so for example showed no started options at all ( these could be made GF if bread removed). No GF bread available as an alternative. Took 3 trips for the waiter back and forward to the kitchen to advice for the chef. Eventually lovely manager came out with a laptop to help. He was trying his best but honestly what a hassle. So many restaurants have simple printed out GF menus to give to customers. It's is a fairly common allergen. You need to improve your system.

No roast beef for Sunday lunch, no tenners lager, slow service and just not the standard I expect.

Went there for a pre Christmas family meal, it was wet and cold evening, and to be honest the temperature in the venue was cold and uninviting. Most of the patrons kept their coats on. Food was reasonable, but nothing startling. Service was great. atmosphere was a little tainted by the lack of warmth.

Met my sister here last night, we both decided to have the 2 course festive menu. Both ordered turkey, all I can say it was extremely disappointing. The vegetables were cold as was the Yorkshire pudding. Decent portion of turkey and the pigs in blankets were only warmish. Waitress coukdnt have been nicer and the manager offered free dessert. We took one between us the salted caramel profiteroles. They were also mediocre, you expect pouring chocolate over this dish but it was set chocolate over each profiterole and the chocolate tasted cheap. So because we took only one pudding the manager said he would also give us our coffees complimentary - fine. Then the bill came . . . £64 quid !! We had also had a soda water and lime a non alcoholic beer and a coke. It was a.complete ripoff £64 quid I nearly fell out my seat. Thus is the second time, and last time I'll be at the tickled Trout. The food standard has dropped dramatically but the prices for what you get are astronomical. Also the 2nd time I've been in here and it cold, it's not nice to feel cold whilst eating dinner. So wait staff are lovely but they really need to look at the cooks, won't call them chefs as I would hope a chef would know how to at least serve a hot dinner.

Lovely pub with great food and great staff. Tina and Kieran were the chefs the last time I was in. Dining area is cleverly sectioned with glass partitions which makes conversation easy whether there are 2 of you or 8 so it's great for a family meal with grandparents with selective hearing, or lunch and a couple of pints with a mate. Good Guinness.

Been here several times & service & food excellent as always . Staff very friendly & great atmosphere. Would highly recommend it. Jeff made us absolutely fab lattes!

Understand that they were short staffed but feel totally disappointed by my full experience after going to tickled trout for many years. First we ordered our meals which to be fair took about 25 mins to come and when it did arrive the fish on one serving needed a jackhammer to cut through when we raised this with the waitress she promptly resolved the situation, so we though!!!! Yes fresh fish was put on the plate but the chips were the same chips but totally inedible. The second fish needed a jackhammer towards to end of it, by this time too much was eaten to complain. We waited 40 mins and nobody came near to clear out plates away so we decided at this point we wouldn’t wait any longer and headed to the bar to pay the bill, I went to toilet first sanitary bin in ladies over flowing and place very dirty and carpet looked as though it hadn’t seen a hoover for months . The waitress was apologetic with these complaints and removed one of the fish meals from the bill and offered free desert the next time we are in!!!!! Won’t be back in a hurry. So disappointed especially this time of year

First visit to this beautiful pub. It's so pretty. Absolutely delightful lady serving us. A tad pricey though...£12.60 for house wine and a pint!!

slow slow slow food lukewarm or cold when it finally arrives. smallish portions , poor desserts not great generally. 118 quid for lunch for 3 including 2 drinks each - we wont be back !

Went for a lunch from the xmas menu today and really enjoyed it. Staff were friendly and fun and the food didn't disappoint. Would have liked to have left a tip but after paying realised we had no cash on hand - id have liked to have had the option of adding a tip when paying a card. Thanks for a fun afternoon.

Server Amy D. was tip top. Lovely meal for mums birthday. Staff were friendly and welcoming and happy to help with anything. Will be back and probably bring the dog!

We visited on 26/10/2024, the food was terrible, there were eight of us and every meal was so bad the food was dry, tasteless & overcooked, the waiting staff were really nice & helpful but were let down by the terrible food being served up from the kitchen.

Friendly staff and great food. Generous portions and a varied set menu for lunch time make this venue excellent value. Full marks to Drew, our chef, who ensured our food was fresh, tasty and arrived hot (I'm a bit fussy about that!).

Came here around 17 years ago. Happened to be driving past and decided to pop in. WOW so so glad we stopped in. Food was amazing! So much quality for the prices and can’t praise the helpfulness and cheeriness of the staff enough. We came from Ayrshire on a drive to the area but think we need to make this a regular route now. Will be back again and again very soon.

Decided on having Sunday lunch here as not been in a while, I had the sea bass which came beautifully presented and was delicious, my husband had the Turkey dinner with all the trimmings and that too was delicious. Love the calm atmosphere in this place and well done to Ross our server and especially Kieron the wonderful chef, your food is amazing!!

Went to the Tickled Trout yesterday, the food is always delicious and the staff are very attentive and the drinks were lovely! Lynsey and Rachel our waitresses were lovely, friendly and very helpful! Will definitely make this a regular place to pop into

Had a lunch with my wife and son and his wife on Sunday 7th July Unfortunately we found the food served for the want of a better word 'disgusting ' Roast potatoes served were 'badly burnt' andcould hardly even be cut with the steak knife provided Vegetables were over cooked and in some cases 'burnt' reminded me of buffet food that had been left over from the day before and reheated I can only say that this was a extremely Disappointing experience

We really enjoyed a relaxed lunch at the Tickled Trout. Staff (Olivia & Scott) were friendly and attentive and the food was just what we needed! The restaurant is child friendly which was perfect for a visit with our 8 month old. We shall be back soon!

Another delicious lunch at our local Vintage Inn, the Tickled Trout. Brilliantly service from Holly and Jack who took great care to ensure our daughter with food intolerances was looked after carefully.

Having visited the tickled trout quite a few times now, I'm happy to say it is a good family pub. Food is very good, with a decent selection of beers on draft. The kids menu is comprehensive with a great selection for fussy eaters. The outdoor seating area is pleasant and well spaced out. Also, dogs are welcome.

We have eaten here many times in the past and had superb service and great tasting food. Unfortunately this visit left a lot to be desired. We ordered a fish and chips and two fish finger sandwiches. All three meals took a very long time to arrive and were cold and tasteless when they did. The young man serving the tables however was very pleasant , but seemed over run with the amount of tables he was having to cover. We would think twice before returning.

I popped in yesterday (28/05/24) and was met by Lyndsey at the bar, i ordered cherry tomato soup and Rib eye steak with all the trimmings. The food was delicious and the wizardry from Kieran and David in the kitchen was evident to see. Suitably stuffed i finished off with a coffee as the great selections of desserts would have probably carried me out feet first!🤣 A lovely atmosphere provided by Lindsey and Racheal as hosts, and i would'nt hesitate to return😊x

As soon as we walked through the door nathan greated us with a massive smile and was extremely polite, he took our order and was very helpful, drinks and food came were to die for 100% I'll be back, it was only my first time there I've had one good experience, Rachel was extremely helpful aswell, she brought over treats and water for the dog and had nothing but smiles while doing it, please if your thinking about giving about this place a try I would jump at it if u had the opportunity, as I've said already the hospitality was extremely good. 100/10 WILL BE BACK

Met up with my friend for lunch today. We both had fish and chips. Then passion fruit Eton mess. a Diet Coke and a soda water and lime. The fish was very dry and tasteless, chips were just warm. We mentioned to the waitress, and they gave us a complimentary coffee each. But at £62 we came away feeling it just wasn’t worth it for the quality of the food.

We were served by Lynsey and Rachel who were both cheerful and efficient. The food was great, reasonably priced and the menu was varied and interesting. Good range of 0% alcohol drinks for the designated driver, too!

It's either a hit or a miss ...well it's a miss. Starter mushroom garlic...not what I expected. Small mushroom smothered in cheese lucky I like cheese. Main course vegetables were cold some Luke warm . Roast potatoes brick hard ...over cooked. The fish skin was crispy and the fish was a bit dry ..but being hungry hated wasting food. The sweet.. apple cherry pie arrived very hot on the plate as you opened it up it was warm at the side, but in the middle it was like Luke warm again . I would class this food as a weatherspoon. Staff very friendly and the pricing was not to bad. Would I rush back... sorry but it was a very disappointing meal.

Great luch great servers recommend macand cheese and buger the lager was not bad at all but the macers was to die for and the server Rachel was so love well defo be back again

Food was amazing as was the service, very friendly staff and we weren’t waiting for long, bar area and top half of restaurant is dog friendly too. we’re definitely coming back
