We would normally have gone to nearby Wetherspoons for breakfast but it was closed so we headed to Cafe V as it is number one on Trip Advisor. OK, it was our first time there so we didn't really know about the standard operating procedure. There were menus on the table so we took a seat, perused the menus and waited ...and waited ...and waited. Finally got up to where they were taking take-away orders and tried to place an order but were told to go back and someone would come to you (which they did). Anyway, moving on. The light breakfast was small but looked even smaller on the large plate it was served. Toast came on a separate large plate. I think it would have been visually more appealing to have had it all on the same plate. Food was tasty enough although the bacon was rather tasteless. Everything was hot (including the drinks). A bit on the pricey side and, all things considered, although we would go back, we won't be in a hurry to do so.

Absolutely amazing place! We were some friends in Manchester to watch the football and stopped by Brunswick and decided to get some breakfast. 3 of my friends chose the traditional "English breakfast" I myself chose "steak and eggs" it was so delicious! It was so delicious that we came back the next day for more food. This time 2 x "English breakfast" 1 x "chicken waffle" and 1 x "steak and eggs" again the food was top notch. The meat was cooked to perfection medium rare, the eggs and tomatoes had great flavor. The only small finger to put on our 2 food experiences at Brunswick was that the second time we were there they forgot "Heinz beans" at the one "English breakfast", but it was quickly fixed! Will definitely be back when I hit Manchester again! Thanks for the food.

We had a lovely lunch at the Commodore. The service was just the right mix of professional but friendly, not too pushy but not ignored either. We had a table with a lovely view which was helped by the day being sunny and warm. Our lunch was nicely presented and tasted great, I think it wasn't over priced compared to other pubs and restaurants in Instow but I think the Commodore has a nicer ambience. Definitely come back again, the only caveat is that the bar prices are maybe a bit higher than in the pub.

Review for Sunday Lunch - first time there and won’t be going back. We were overcharged for our meal (advertised price on the menu was cheaper than the one we paid) - unfortunately we only noticed after we paid. We spoke to the waiter about it, showed him the menu and he acknowledged that the price indeed is wrong. He went to speak to the manager and came back 15 minutes later to tell us that the menu price indeed is wrong and they will change the menus from now on. However they won’t be able to refund or do anything else to rectify the mistake. This was a very poorly handled situation on their behalf that left a bitter taste to our visit. Overall food quality: Starters: good Main: average - the meat portion was small, we had only two undercooked tiny potatoes, veggies were not enough for four people and the lamb was dry and chewy Dessert: lovely

Best Cornish pasty I've had in a while. We went here specifically because they offer a gluten free option and they did not disappoint! You do have to order the gluten free pasty's and they take around half an hour but well worth it. We brought extra to bring home

Really great place. To start we didn’t realise the restaurant wasn’t open for another 20 min and we were welcomed inside to take a seat. Very accommodating with young children, nice high hairs, toddler cutlery, paper & crayons. Nice menu and good quality food all cooked very well. Steak perfectly. Set menu for kids was actually very good value. Friendly service. Highly recommended.

Average Sunday lunch. Not great, not poor just average. Being nearly Christmas the menu included Turkey which we had. There was a lot of food, in fact too much for the plates which made eating it difficult. Absolutely drowning in gravy as well. Vegetables were OK apart from the almost raw sprouts. I am not keen on mushy sprouts and prefer them to be firm but these were definitely not in the pan long enough. Service was very slow even though it was not too busy. They should invest in larger plates.
