The best restaurants serving British food in England

We like the place,to sit and chill although we have been told its closing down...

Fabulous service, great venue and lovely food. Whole party loved their meals. Haven’t been for awhile but will definitely not leave it as long again 10/10

The pasties were very poor. Meat was all grizzle and not edible. Pastry was barely cooked. Worst pasty we've had. I'm surprised they advertise them as "banging". I wouldn't recommend.

All I can say was it was the best meal in a long time. We popped along to the beer garden the other night and saw the meals which looked fabulous, especially the chips 😂. So we reserved a table for Saturday night and I'm glad we did as it was so busy. The menu isn't huge but it had a great selection of meals and as a fuss pot who's hard to please I found quite a few meals I thought sounded perfect but as a steak pie professional tester I decided I had to try it, the fact that you can select shortcrust or puff pastry nearly made me explode with excitement 🤯. My hubby and bestie chose the fish pie and as I hate fish I was surprised when it came I actually thought it looked it lovely, they both said it was delicious and cleared their plates. But the steak pie was so delicious I didn't actually want to talk to anyone and I entered my own world of steak pie testing, well I do take my job seriously 😂. The chips were just amazing and the veg was presented beautifully and was perfect. The portion was massive but if you look at the photo I managed it and I had to keep having to protect my chips from my hubby. We actually had the cheek to go for desserts with me and Bestie decided we would share the crumble, which was beautiful and we actually started to fight over it and a 22 year relationship nearly came to an end, next time it's one each!!! Price and service was excellent and they all seemed to work well on an extremely busy night. Well done, we loved it.

Popped in today for a takeaway Sunday roast, beautiful flavours everything was cooked perfectly and portions were massive. Definitely will be going back with the family fir a Sunday treat

Second visit in as many years. Pleased to say that this experience was as good as the first. Good location, great breakfast, friendly efficient staff and well priced. I'd recommend here without hesitation.

Cracking fish and chips. Fish was large and fresh and the chips crisp, all piping hot. We sat in the window of the actual chippy and thoroughly enjoyed the food.

We were here for the filming of a Chris Payn pop video. The breakfasts looked delicious, but we're used as props, so we couldn't eat them! We had a fantastic time. Great venue.

I’ve eaten here more than 20 times now, during the day, evenings and sometimes have a cheeky take away. Consistently excellent food, lovely staff and great atmosphere. My favourite place to eat. Highly recommend the smashed avocado with everything on it. The coffee and cakes are exceptional too.

I have lived in the area my whole life and never had a pub meal near us that was as good as this. Every dish was extremely good and reasonably priced. The beef pie special was a particular highlight. Best pub pie I’ve ever had. Please keep these guys in business! Go eat here.

The Fox is een erg leuk restaurant. We stonden op een camping in de omgeving en we zochten een goed restaurant. The Fox vind je niet zomaar, deze zit buiten het centrum van het stadje Frome. We hebben er erg lekker gegeten en gedronken. Echt een aanrader! Niet te groot, echt leuk. Ik denk dat hier veel locale bewoners komen. Ze zijn sinds een half jaar ook een camping begonnen. Die hadden we niet gevonden en daarom staan we ergens anders. Bediening is wel erg snel, Nederlanders zitten graag wat langer aan rafel. Echter erg lekker gegeten en gedronken, ik kan u dit restaurant van harte aanbevelen. The Fox, thank for the very nice dinner!

Have came twice during our short stay in dulverton, both times absolutely perfect and lovely service

En primer lugar, The Brighton ES UN PUB no un restaurante y NO sirve comida. Dicho esto, los clientes son bienvenidos a traer comida - hay una excelente tienda de pescado y patatas fritas cerca. Hay una buena mezcla de personas, incluyendo residentes locales, turistas, personas esperando un tren o bajando de la estación de tren. El estado de ánimo del pub cambia según el día y la hora - un gran lugar para una pinta tranquila, reunirse con amigos y participar en concursos de pub o escuchar música en vivo, dependiendo del día. Soy un 'habitual' en el pub y lo hice mi local hace 20 años y nunca he mirado atrás. El personal es muy amable y amable. Los recién llegados siempre son bienvenidos, así como los miembros de la comunidad LGBTQ. Si eres nuevo en Brighton, siempre hay alguien alrededor para ayudar con las direcciones y consejos sobre lugares para alojarse y comer. El propietario se enorgullece de la limpieza del pub. Good mains for around the £12 mark. Refreshing to get honest food at that price when so many pubs are charging £20. I'd come back again! 🙂
