We had a lovely lunch, the staff were great and efficient even though it was busy.

Staff are lovely and welcoming. The shop is gorgeous, full of lots of beautiful gifts and a great selection of cards for all occasions! Haven't eaten in the café but the Chai Latte with cinnamon is one of the best I've had, so much so that I get one every time I visit Dulverton. 10/10 will continue to visit whenever I'm in the area.

A super find in Dulverton on Exmoor. A well run cafe and shop with a great menu. Quality coffee and the Croc monsieur special was very good. Fantastic service and nothing was a problem to them...including my parking outside. The shop is filled with lots of local goods from cards to beer. An excellent experience all round.

This is a really nice place to sit and chill and enjoy a good meal or a tea and coffee, the Hot Chocolate and Baileys is a must and the staff are amazing

Gorgeous quaint little shop with sweet cafe. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Dogs allowed!! Vegan and gluten free options (suitable for celiac disease). Food was delicious. One of the best Cafe experiences I've had in several years!!!

On the final day of our Family holiday we stopped for a bite to eat and a little look around this excellent shop. The staff were amazing, friendly and helpful. We spent a small fortune but it was well worth it to support such a superb local business.

We stopped for lunch in Dulverton today and discovered this gem! Beautiful food, wonderful service from the warm and personable staff and a gorgeous range of gifts to browse. Highly recommend you pop in. Just magical!

Probably the rudest people I have ever met... we are local and come in regularly but today again the staff/owners concept of manners is no existent. We will never return.... good luck with tourist trade as I'm sure your regular trade will disappear shortly...

We loved the look of the place and the waiting staff were good. The front of house/shop staff couldn't have cared less when we asked her whether the place is dog-friendly. Unfortunately the food itself was a major disappointment. We ordered two different things and neither was up to standard.

Lovely shop, decorated in a country style, as you might expect. Relaxed, good food, you get it cooked how you like it, nice tasting coffee

Despite being open I was quite aggressively told there were no hot drinks available for at least half an hour. I didn’t feel like waiting …… 😕

Stopped here on the way home from a holiday. Staff very welcoming and coffee was great. Shop had a great deal of items for sale.

Amazing place. Newsagent, gift shop and fantastic café. Had a fabulous coffee in this unique café, also they offer a loyalty card. Worth an extra trip to Dulverton just for the coffee!

Food and coffee is good but was disappointed that they don't do a full breakfast. Only reason for 4 stars is that we asked the young waitress if they do a full breakfast and was told .... its not on the menu so we don't do it!! .... felt very stupid for asking the question. Not the correct response in my view.

Loved it. My partner who has some complex dietary needs was well catered for.

My husband and I popped in for a coffee and cake last week whilst on holiday in Exmoor.. We had a very pleasant experience, the cakes were amazing, the drinks were also very good.. The guys who ran the cafe/bistro were very welcoming, efficient and friendly. We would highly recommend dropping in for a treat.

Lovely shop with a wide selection (food, gifts, magazines etc). 5 star cafe too - friendly, professional, quick service. Delicious toasted teacake with plenty of proper butter and a properly sized pot of tea too! Lovely place, I've been before and I will go again!

Always worth a visit - food and coffee is amazing and the service is outstanding. The service throughout the shop is always friendly and welcoming and Mike always makes you feel welcome. A pity reading other reviews people are so short sighted and as a local I'd suggest they stay away if being asked politely what you would like to drink or pay first offends you so much! Hot chocolate, west country rarebit and pasties are all highly recommended.

Stopped in while on a weekend away for some well earned coffee and cake and so very pleased we did, as not only was the coffee excellent, the cakes completely delicious, but I have to say the waiter who served us was just super friendly and helpful, he made us feel right at home. We loved it so much we went back the next day and had to have more. I cannot recommend The Tantivy enough both for the delicious delights on offer, but also for the friendly staff who were perfect. Also have to mention the shop, which has everything you could ever need all in one place, easily the best shop in Dulverton. We will be back!

We came to The Tantivy for years as holiday makers before we moved to Dulverton two years ago. It has always held a special place in our hearts, then as it goes now. The food has always been delicious and the service from Emily, Mike and the team has always come with a smile that’s absolutely guaranteed to brighten our day. An absolute gem in Exmoor that has been visited by generations of our family. Couldn’t rate highly enough…❤️. xxx

A great family visit to this lovely cafe and shop. Divine cake (homemade and good sized portions) and fab coffee. The staff were so helpful and cheerful and the service was friendly and efficient, despite it being busy. Will definitely return. Great shop too - good range of ciders - and fudge!

What a weird experience in the cafe. My wife and i visited on 5/8/21. Waiter guy (in shorts) comes over to table and asks what would we like to order - I reply " 2 cream teas, fruit scone , jam and clotted cream pls " - waiter guy responds " let me stop you there, what would u like to drink ? " ....err, emm tea please (I might be wrong but up 'til this point in my life I always thought cream tea came with tea? ). Waiter guy then asks us to pay b4 our order has been served. I guess the staff at this place don't get much in the way of tips from customers who have to pay before hand - and no , I promise that we won't be back ever again.

Staff are kind and friendly their service is very quick the food is great 👍. Highly recommend if your on holiday in dulverton.

Fantastic experience. The staff are extremely friendly and the food was exceptional, I just wish I’d taken a photo before I’d eaten it haha (trust me it’s lovely). The service was also very fast even at peak which is when we arrived. There is also a lovely shop attached to the cafe selling lots of locally sourced ales, savouries, sweats and also some infused oils which can be self served at a size of your choosing. Can’t wait to bring family back here.

A while since we’ve been down here but The Tantivy seems to have gone from strength to strength. It was really busy when we visited but the staff were well on top of everything with first class attention to covid safety protocols. The shop was stocked full of interesting stuff and we loaded up with some delicious fudge plus local rums and gins. A quick round of coffees and scones in the cafe came out quickly and the scones were particularly excellent! We’ll be back!!

Really lovely coffee to take away, absolutely delicious and excellent restaurant service. However, our visit was marred by the very officious (almost miserable) lady on the till in the shop. She was completely disinterested when we asked if they had any Exe gin and made both myself and my husband feel like a complete inconvenience, strange as the shop was virtually empty, so she was not rushed off of her feet.

The Tantivy is a special place - a combined café, gift shop, delicatessen, newsagent, which also sells upmarket spirits and even Cuban cigars. The staff and owners are friendly and helpful and I can't think of Dulverton without it. I go pretty much every day when I'm in the area.

Popped in for a quick pasty and coffee. Couldn’t fault the place,friendly staff, COVID compliant with really good system at the tables.

Great welcome as we arrived, and the soup, pasty and gluten free bread were all winners. Service also very good, a good stop on a grey day.

Amazing little gem of a shop and cafe in the heart of Dulverton. Such good coffee and cake! Doggie friendly too so perfect for us. Owners so friendly and helpful. Highly recommend and our first place to visit after setting up the motorhome and settling into any short break away!

We visited last week on a very wet and windy day but the warm welcome from the owners Greg and Dave soon made us forget the weather! We enjoyed a hot lunch, with a range of coffees and hot chocolate all finished off with a selection of homemade cakes. They were all delicious but for me Greg's fabulous carrot cake was the winner!!After enjoying our lunch we wandered around the treasure trove shop picking up some lovely local produce and unusual gifts. If you are in Exmoor you must seek out The Tantivy you won't be disappointed.I will definitely be visiting next time I'm in the area - wonderful place

This wonderful cafe/ gift shop/ delicatessen in a lovely village on the edge of Exmoor is such a find! We had a superb lunch with great service from the owners, Greg and Dave and was served with a selection of Greg’s homemade cakes - delicious! There is a huge selection of gifts and local produce and we couldn’t resist buying a few bits.... the whole village has some lovely shops actually but a visit to The Tantivy is a must!

Oh, what a beautiful shop and cafe. They sell loads of local produce (beer, cheese, gin, fudge, pottery) and it's a browser's dream 😁 The cafe was open for takeaway only when I visited (Tuesday late afternoon).

Two coffees and two cakes all very good. Great latte & cappuccino. Friendly owners, Covid Freindly! Recommended
