The Wren Cafe in City of London, Westminster

Excellent friendly service, fantastic atmosphere and location, great ☕ and 🥐

Really wanted to try this cafe but lunch is only served Monday to Thursday. This wasn't mentioned on the website. As it was Friday and we were hungry we couldn't stay. It looks beautiful though.

This is a place where you can enjoy coffee in the chapel. The atmosphere is nice and the baristas are friendly. Have a quick cup of tea before going to St. Paul's Cathedral

A lovely cafe hidden in a beautiful church. Friendly barista. Splendid decor and interior. The iced latte was okay, not catching up with the atmosphere unfortunately. Both indoor and outdoor seating available and it’s very laptop friendly, good to work/study. There’s a small secret garden at the back of the church, which is a great spot to sit, relax, or read with coffee when the sun’s out.

Delicious coffee and pastry offerings. Some sweet some savory. Charming 17th century church turned coffee house with an evangelical mission. This kind of spot was such a refreshing experience and right by our hotel. Would go again

Had some time to waste before meeting the gf and due to the heat, needed a place to chill and escape the sun. Stumbled across this place in a church, very unique with a relaxed atmosphere with people working and having meetings.

Epic place! It's a coffee shop in an old church, which is so cool. The space is spacious, and the staff is super friendly. Crosissant wasnt my fav tho It might be a bit on the expensive side, but the great atmosphere makes it worth it.. probably a good place for a quick work meeting

Beautiful award winning cafe. Sometimes gets very busy like anywhere in the city and so can be hard to find a seat. Surely the mark of a good cafe though. Coffee is the focus with a very limited food range that is not cheap. Friendly staff with a stimulating lunch time talk series every Thursday from about 1pm to 1:30pm.

If you want to see St. Paul's or Tate Modern, cross the Millemium Bridge, and go to a cafe, come here. It looks like the cathedral has been converted into a cafe. The atmosphere is so pretty, right? There is a small bench park next to the cafe, and this is also used a lot.

Came after a meeting until closing (16.30) to use wifi. Seems many folk have the same idea. Inside it seems to be mainly people on their own on their screens. So it almost has a library feel, a grand library given the interor. There's four tables outside where folks were chatting in the sun. Coffee is decent.

Rich in history, the venue is spacious and bright.

Been here twice now, people have said the atmosphere is great and I’d definitely agree. It’s friendly, warm, good lighting but also, fantastically spacious, which is rare in London, considering so many coffee shops are crammed and very small. The coffee itself is really really good, I will definitely be going back again for that. The staff are friendly. I haven’t tasted the food, so can’t comment on that, although it might be good to have a bit more of a selection cake wise, but looking forward to going back again soon with friends/family.

Very very nice vibe. Ideal for reading or studying, can get a bit cold so bring a coat/jumper.

Beautiful, secluded and aesthetic place for coffee in central London. Loads of seating and tables and very spacious, making it peaceful and not noisy. Would be better if they gave mugs rather than disposable cups for coffee.

Absolutely gorgeous café in a church immersed in the city

If you are looking for incredible drip coffee, this is your spot! With close proximity to St. Paul’s, spacious seating, and a kind staff, this is an ideal locale for commuters and tourists alike. The building is called “Wren Café” because like St. Paul’s, it was designed by famed architect Christopher Wren. It’s nice that this café opens at 7:30a, earlier than most in the area. Highly recommend!

The perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. The staff are extremely friendly and hospitable. Coffee is served in a compostable cup so you might want to bring your own reusable cup if you are bothered by that kind of thing. Perfect place to meet up with friends, get some work done or just avoid the weather and tourist. There is a large accessible toilet and outdoor seating area of the weather is nice.

A pity: beautiful location, but bad coffee and stale food. The Wren is based in St Nick’s striking building, with beautiful decor and high ceiling. The relaxed atmosphere makes it a great place for a break or for for those seeking a tranquil place to work. Sadly, on the day we visited we did not find the type of quality we expected from the pictures and reviews: the coffees were all served in takeaway cups rather than ceramic, the milk was burning hot, the brew over-extracted and the end result a coffee to skip. The pastries were stale. Overall a missed opportunity to make this a special experience beyond just the optics.

A rare and precious quiet haven in the City with first-class coffee.

Very peaceful and relaxing place in the buzzy busy City of London. Need rest and high quality coffee? Pop in there. I am serious. The only one thing I have been a bit ,,disappointed, ....they serve coffee only into the take-away cups but I do love, when sitting in, real coffee in a real cup. But it s only one minus. Space is amazing, looks hidden but just 3 min walk from St.Paul' s Catedral, you will pass small chillout garden, just 20 min walk to very Liverpool street Station - tube, train, city bus, bus 🚍 heading to airport....why not to have perfect coffee before you fly :-)

They make the best Matcha Latte and the place is nice and spacious, makes for a very casual and relaxed vibe.

Very nice and interesting place. A lot of space, even if you want to have a cup of coffee with dessert and work a little bit. Kind staff. After 15:00 they have a 50% discount for some dessert, so I ate one pastel de nata there and got two more takeout. Highly recommend.

I went here to do some work on a Friday. All the tables were full when I got there and had to share a larger 6 person table with some other patrons. The tea was good. I was not offered any reusable tea cup (I'm not sure if that is an option). I was there for about 2 hours and most of the tables were full the entire time and there was little turnover.

Happened upon this place whilst walking with my 5yr old son doing some detective work regarding the Great Fire of London. Decided to stop for a coffee and was greeted with a smile and some awesome history by the wonderful Ben. I hope this is fed back to him. He was kind and thoughtful towards my boy and made the experience one to remember. Oh and coffee was GREAT! Thanks Ben.

Excellent barista, ambiance and setting

Wonderful place with delicious coffee. I went around 930 AM on a Wednesday and had no troubles finding somewhere to sit. Additionally, the staff were incredibly friendly! Will be visiting again.

Very calm and silent space to work, chat, have coffee or simply gaze at the ceiling. Good choice of background music, puts you in the mood really, Has a toilet if you need one, very close to St Paul's Cathedral, in the opposite street of Salvation Army headquarters, Not a very cozy place but definitely a solemn place to find yourself getting focused on work/study..

Breathing room. *sighs* While good enough coffee is easy to find in London, staying away from the town’s frantic pace can be quite a hard task in its most dense areas, even when one seeks refuge in cafés. And The Wren is exactly that alternative — a breathing room (after you regain your breath upon entering the breathtaking space of the church it is located in) to enjoy good coffee and cakes and snacks and more, while in The City itself! The young staff seems to take pride in their preparations, and service is efficient without being hurried, and very friendly. Food is simple and unpretentiously good, which can be a plus in a town like London, too. Seems to have vegetarian options everyday. And there’s the striking space itself, of course, permeating all things that happen here. Though there is music, there is so much space that one actually perceives the silence. Natural lights flows in through stained glass (some colorful abstractions contrasting with the golden ornaments on the walls and ceiling). While the dimensions make one feel small, they also enable a subtle and gradual expansion of the senses, and maybe of the spirit too — after all, this is a church that’s still used for its original purpose of helping people realize a different dimension to life. A place to be thoroughly enjoyed, where one feeds body and soul.

Popped in here both before and after the ABBA concert. It was perfect place to warm up while waiting for the venue to open. Great coffee, pastries, bathroom and wifi.

If you want to get away from the bustle of bland global coffee chains The Wren is perfect. A simple, unpretentious and quiet oasis with considerate, attentive service.

Never had coffee in a church before in my life, but hey that’s London!

Amazing find. Flat white was very tasty, you could feel the strength of the coffee. Almond croissant was amazing. Not 100% fresh but you can't expect it either, because the consumption is not that large.

Very lovely venue for a cafe and a peaceful vibe, however the salmon sandwich was extremely dry and hard - £4.90! The pastel de nata and hot chocolate were really nice, though.

Just a few minutes from St Pauls, this coffe house is a set in a beautiful old church. they sell a great range of coffee, tea and snacks at affordable (For London) prices. I sat for about an hour working on my laptop and it was so quiet and chilled! A great place to relax from the hustle and bustle of the city. Wonderful! Highly Recommended.

Called in for coffee and bacon roll - ever in search of perfection - and here I made progress on my previous trips - coffee ☕ is fantastic for black coffee drinkers and the bacon roll was pretty good too. Super relaxed place to be and not at all busy at 9:30am

Great coffee, stunning setting in a really spacious and airy chapel.

Was so excited to come here but it's awkward AF in here. Tables full and almost no one is talking to the point where you feel like you have to whisper so you don't attract attention. Wierd vibes in here. Couldn't wait to finish up and leave. Barista is not friendly and it's hard to tell where you place your order. Coffee was average at best.

Most delicious croissant anywhere, large and covered in almonds and unlike many, still moist and full of almond flavour. Go there for that alone, if you like them! Been meaning to come here for a while and it's worth the wait. Beautiful use of an old church, which on Thursdays still holds meetings.

Coffee shop in a beautiful Old Church. I was happy to see that I could get a London fog on the menu which is an earl Grey tea with steamed milk. Most places around here don't know what that is because apparently it is most popular or well-known in Canada!

I really love good coffee. I am always keen to seek out great coffee places and this is a great coffee place. A little bit off the beaten track, in a beautiful church, this is a no frills experience but the coffee makes everything worthwhile. I hang out here before meetings in the City. Make the trip - it’s definitely worthwhile.

Dropped in here for coffee this morning. Been wanting to visit for years but am rarely in London these days. Not disappointed. The venue is awesome: a beautiful Wren church full of light and space and of perfect proportions. A great place to sit and write (which lots of people were doing), catch up with friends and family (which we were doing) or just sit and enjoy the stillness. Plus the coffee was absolutely delicious - the best I've had for a good long while!

The place is lovely, waitress is really nice, coffee is good, and it is a nice place to work from - really recommend
