This quaint café inside a church is a true hidden gem! The atmosphere is peaceful and unique, making it the perfect spot to relax. A special shoutout to Robyn, who was incredibly friendly, patient, and helpful—she truly went above and beyond to make our day even better. Such a lovely experience with great service in a one-of-a-kind setting. Highly recommend checking it out!

Unique spot for a coffee, with an airy and spacious seating area in a church (and an outside seating area apparently - I didn't fancy it in November...). Massive pastries and a standard coffee menu, with porridge pots and chocolate bars also available, as well as cold soft drinks. Staff are friendly and the atmosphere is chilled, with plenty of space for people to work or socialise. Worth noting that coffees are served in takeaway cups, which some people won't appreciate, but overall a really lovely place to pause. Also this crazy toilet cubicle (pictured)

Feel bad giving this as it’s a nice looking place in a beautiful historic building and they have the awesome caravan coffee here and even the vibe is nice. But it’s only single use disposable cups and that’s a deal breaker these days. There are also lots of leaflets about Jesus, but it is a church so I suppose that’s fair

Hidden gem, that needs to stay hidden. If you want somewhere to sit and read a book in peace and just escape London for 20 minutes, this is the place to go. With great chocolate and a good selection of pastries, snacks, and the like. It was a joy to visit. The coffee shop is in a church, and this gives the entire place a peaceful atmosphere. One of our favourite places to visit while in London and I wish we visited it sooner!

It’s friendly, warm, good lighting but also, fantastically spacious, which is rare in London, considering so many coffee shops are crammed and very small. I haven’t tasted the food, so can’t comment on that, although it might be good to have a bit more of a selection cake wise, but looking forward to going back again soon with friends/family.

A pity: beautiful location, but bad coffee and stale food. The Wren is based in St Nick’s striking building, with beautiful decor and high ceiling. The relaxed atmosphere makes it a great place for a break or for for those seeking a tranquil place to work. Sadly, on the day we visited we did not find the type of quality we expected from the pictures and reviews: the coffees were all served in takeaway cups rather than ceramic, the milk was burning hot, the brew over-extracted and the end result a coffee to skip. The pastries were stale. Overall a missed opportunity to make this a special experience beyond just the optics.

Breathing room. *sighs* While good enough coffee is easy to find in London, staying away from the town’s frantic pace can be quite a hard task in its most dense areas, even when one seeks refuge in cafés. And The Wren is exactly that alternative — a breathing room (after you regain your breath upon entering the breathtaking space of the church it is located in) to enjoy good coffee and cakes and snacks and more, while in The City itself! The young staff seems to take pride in their preparations, and service is efficient without being hurried, and very friendly. Food is simple and unpretentiously good, which can be a plus in a town like London, too. Seems to have vegetarian options everyday. And there’s the striking space itself, of course, permeating all things that happen here. Though there is music, there is so much space that one actually perceives the silence. Natural lights flows in through stained glass (some colorful abstractions contrasting with the golden ornaments on the walls and ceiling). While the dimensions make one feel small, they also enable a subtle and gradual expansion of the senses, and maybe of the spirit too — after all, this is a church that’s still used for its original purpose of helping people realize a different dimension to life. A place to be thoroughly enjoyed, where one feeds body and soul.

It is beyond me how a restaurant can be so complete. The second we entered the restaurant we were incredibly welcomed with the joyful atmosphere and the staff being the best I have seen in any Michelin star restaurants I have been to. They were extremely professional while remaining incredibly nice and caring. The variety of the food, exceptional mastery of different ingredients by the chef and the presentation of the dish makes me mind boggled of how this restaurant only has 1 Michelin star. In the Michelin restaurants I have been to I have always had at least one or two dishes I didn’t like but here moving to the next dish was like a divorce for my taste buds of the wonderful flavor I had just encountered. On top of all of these things the song choice was amazing and helped with combining hearing with tasting. By far the highlight of my stay in London and definitely will be sending everyone I know here 😁
