Just a few minutes from St Pauls, this coffe house is a set in a beautiful old church. they sell a great range of coffee, tea and snacks at affordable (For London) prices. I sat for about an hour working on my laptop and it was so quiet and chilled! A great place to relax from the hustle and bustle of the city. Wonderful! Highly Recommended.

Was so excited to come here but it's awkward AF in here. Tables full and almost no one is talking to the point where you feel like you have to whisper so you don't attract attention. Wierd vibes in here. Couldn't wait to finish up and leave. Barista is not friendly and it's hard to tell where you place your order. Coffee was average at best.

I really love good coffee. I am always keen to seek out great coffee places and this is a great coffee place. Dropped in here for coffee this morning. Been wanting to visit for years but am rarely in London these days. Not disappointed. The venue is awesome: a beautiful Wren church full of light and space and of perfect proportions. A great place to sit and write (which lots of people were doing), catch up with friends and family (which we were doing) or just sit and enjoy the stillness. Plus the coffee was absolutely delicious - the best I've had for a good long while!

I used to work in the west end and I was spoiled for choice with cafes that had plenty of space and atmosphere. When I started a new job in the city I was so disappointed by the small 'fast' cafes and lack of relaxed seating. Every now and again I like to escape the office with a book on my lunch break. So it's been a delight to find this cafe. Friendly staff, good selection of tea, coffee and food, lots of seating and space and even a nice terrace area to sit in the sun on a good day. So today I enjoyed a Moroccan mint tea, perched on a stool people watching and reading my book in the sunshine. Almost forgot to go back to work!

This beautiful church is a not-very-cosy but still lovely space - the stained-glass in particular is gorgeous. The coffee was good if pricey (where isn't?), but the end of my visit here this afternoon ensured I won't be coming back. Both the website and the board outside say that the cafe is open until five, but on leaving at five to I was told the toilets were already locked and we couldn't use them. When I asked why, they said the cafe had in fact closed twenty minutes earlier - said in a tone as thought we'd already inconvenienced them hugely. (No one had come over to tell us the cafe was closed, or asked us to leave.) I really don't think it's a huge ask to keep the toilets open until your advertised closing time, but it was the rude tone when being told this that really rankled. Change your website/notice-board if you want to shut up shop half an hour earlier - and fix your attitude.

The wren used to be a church but now houses an artisan coffee place. The coffee is good but overpriced and for lunch there are very good salads which I strongly recommend. What is impressive though is the venue. The church building has a very tall ceiling with large coloured windows which make the place quite unique as a coffee shop. The atmosphere though is not a buzzing one. The place is relatively quiet and most people use it either for business meetings, also due to its location, and church/religious seminars. The wren is definitely not your average coffee house.

The venue is amazing and the coffee superb! However, last I came here the two girls behind the counter could hardly keep up with the steady inflow of people - and as a result, customer service wasn't their focus. The service was beyond slow and I almost felt sorry for adding to their work-load with my order.Perhaps on other days, this is not an issue. Probably more of a coffee stop than a lunchtime eatery, but with two of my favourite things on the menu - quiche and cake, it more than satisfied my lunchtime needs! There seemed to be quite a few tables occupied by single laptop users and novel readers who looked like they had set up camp for the afternoon with only a cup of coffee for company - nobody seemed to mind (which reflects the very friendly, laid back attitude of staff), apart from us with an array of baked goods and nowhere to sit. Still, I'm not afraid to ask to share a table and that we did, so no problem. The individual bacon quiche was delicious - warmed on request and accompanied by a side of "leaves", slightly extravagantly priced at £4.50, but leaving enough room for a slice of cake, thank goodness, because I think I consumed one of tastiest slices of cake EVER! Sticky pear and ginger cake, washed down with a very smooth but strong decaf latte. Forget being in a church, I was most definitely in heaven!

The tables are large and well spaced out so it suits meetings. Huge thumbs up for the 4 different types of table water available and the Cold Brew coffee. A lot of suits turn up seeking only take out which really devalues the true value of this cafe.

The coffee was great, the cake delicious, and the sandwiches were very good too. The managers of this coffee shop have taken a lot of care choosing special coffees and teas which make this shop stand out from all the local "chains". However, the truly lovely thing about The Wren is the gorgeous venue. The coffee shop is in a fully restored Sir Christopher Wren church just a few steps from the north side of the Millennium Bridge (and a few steps south of St. Paul's Cathedral). Even on a cloudy day, light floods in through massive Palladian windows bathing the interior in a warm glow. No crowded tables in this London venue, the interior is incredibly spacious with lots of tables, chairs and sofas. Terrace seating affords a spectacular view of the St. Paul's dome. We also appreciated the attention to detail demonstrated in the fine renovation. The Wren's restrooms are a delightful surprise, particularly in London! Service was efficient and friendly too. The Wren café, which I visited last week, is an island of tranquillity in an exceptionally busy part of London. It is close to St Paul’s cathedral and the Millennium Bridge. I considered myself lucky in London to have found somewhere peaceful and with excellent coffee and cake to restore myself after having visited the Cheapside horde at the Museum of London. It is clearly a new venture as they were assembling tables for the outside terrace when I arrived. There was a range of interesting cakes of varying sizes and the sandwiches were huge, although I’m afraid that I was only able to find room for a large slice of cake. The stylish sage green coffee cups made the reasonably priced coffee taste even nicer. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. It was also very clean and comfortable. The stained glass windows of this restored early Wren church were colourful and added to the elegant atmosphere and the experience. There were some beautiful touches such as the wooden counter with a hand carved wren (the bird) on it. There was a table set aside with jugs of water one with fresh mint leaves in it another with slices of orange etc. The toilets were an architectural experience one of which was formally used to store swords in while the services were on. I will definitely visit the café again when I am in London next.
