the greek bar tender in the members lounge was incredibly rude. rolled her eyes at me. talked very crudely and had a major attitude. ruined the night especially when you're paying so much

When reflecting on my recent dining experience at Gorges, one name comes to mind as the epitome of exceptional service: Simone Grilli. As the hostess of the evening, Simone truly went above and beyond to ensure that my cousin Abdul and I felt welcomed and taken care of throughout our meal. From the moment we walked through the doors of Gorges, it was evident that we were in for a treat. The ambiance was inviting, the food was delectable, and the overall vibe of the restaurant was nothing short of fantastic. However, what truly set our experience apart was the impeccable service provided by Simone. Her warm demeanor and attention to detail made us feel like valued guests, and her genuine enthusiasm for the food and atmosphere at Gorges only enhanced our dining experience. In conclusion, I cannot recommend Gorges highly enough, and a significant part of that recommendation is due to the outstanding service provided by Simone Grilli. If you are looking for a memorable dining experience with delicious food, good vibes, and impeccable service, Gorges is the place to be. Hi friends, If you won the lottery yesterday, I can highly recommend this place. Very good food. Great atmosphere. Brilliant service. Easily accessible. Everything a person could wish for. But watch out. The bill for a romantic dinner for two can be as much as £500.

One of the most incredible place’s in Mayfair, it’s a members club restaurant and bar, with beautiful members lounge downstairs and DJ. The stuff is so friendly and attractive to all the little details, it almost feels every time like you coming to your friends house, the waitress will remember everything about you! Delicious food, love sitting on the outside terrace in warm weather, that’s were you will find me in the spring!

El rojo que nos recomendaron estaba lleno de sabor y delicioso. Muy encantador sería adecuado para un almuerzo o una cena romántica o de negocios. Todos disfrutamos el tazón de juglares. Una buena selección de platos clásicos. La suela de Dover estaba bien hecha como el cordero. Los interiores son encantadores e incluso en invierno los asientos exteriores son acogedores y cómodos. They’ve gone all out with decorations for Christmas - lovely and great PR. However, they also had two reindeer in a very small pen on ‘display’ for people to take photos of - cruel and unnecessary. If they don’t seem to think twice about this obvious cruelty, how are they really approaching their sustainability and food sourcing?

Para ser honesto, al principio estaba un poco parcial, se ve elegante pero un poco anticuado, pero la calidad de la comida y el servicio demostraron que estaba equivocado, se recomiendan los platos deliciosos, las pastas y el lenguado de dover.

Lovely layout, good food. Every now and then you know a place just “works”, this is just such a place. Discrete waiting staff, good food and despite being busy you never have to raise your voice to be heard due to well considered table lay out. Very nice. I may have to find someone to nominate me for membership!

Got invited here for a leaving lunch by a member. Its a good location for a quiet decent bite to eat. There is an outside seating area and an underground lounge area too. The main restaurant area decorated in Hockney artwork.

…George it is good to get away from οἱ πολλοί in this busy part of London. The calm and restful interior, though tight in places, is well served by charming and thoroughly well-trained staff, attentive and percipient. The furnishings help significantly in reducing noise so guests can hear themselves – and others – both think and speak, a welcome change from most restaurants nowadays. Passing the open kitchen to reach the main body of the restaurant is to pass a battalion of chefs, seemingly dozens of them all beavering away, producing predominantly Italian dishes of sophisticated simplicity, the most difficult sort. Vitello tonnato, yellowtail sashimi was followed by plain pasta with tomato and basil for me and pasta with rich, unctuous lobster for my hostess, all perfect in taste, presentation, temperature and size. When ambience is matched to fine food a visit to George should be a treat – take it if offered.

We recently dined here (on recommendation) to celebrate after our Son and Daughter-in-Law had got married on a beautiful sunny day in London. Thoroughly disappointed with both the Venue and food. The service was dreadful, food was average and poorly presented. With a bill of £800 for 4 guests we certainly expected more from a Private Members Club in Mayfair. Would not recommend.

We are fortunate to have UK board members, who are also members at George. This visit was our second, and a lovely one, it was. We gathered for small bites, and drinks, before a larger, more formal Dinner, so kept it rather light this time (full Dinner on previous visit). We had the Steak Tartare for the table, and a bottle of Montrachet. I know, a white wine with Beef, but it WAS a “big” white wine, and one board member has issues with many reds. The Steak Tartare was excellent, and so very flavorful. I started to say it was “cooked to perfection,” as a joke, but decided that it was anything BUT a joke. The spices actually benefitted from the Montrachet, and might have been completely lost, with a bigger red wine. We were seated at a spacious 4-top, and had room to spread a few pieces of paperwork out. The venue is very quiet, even when it was filling up, and we were able to conduct a bit of business, over the Beef and the wine. We had an excellent prelude to our Dinner, and got many things accomplished, prior to heading to a more noisy setting. Our service was excellent, and the Ginger Beer, that one member ordered, was said to be great, as well. We hope to return, and for the full meal, as on our first visit. We are so fortunate to have business associates with great memberships.

We went with our daughter who is a member of this Private Members Club and all the staff know her well and she knows all of them by first name so we might have been given a special treatment with best table in the house, In the front by a window (gorgeous day of 16 degrees so we could have had a table outside, a nice option). Eating in the front better than in the back because of windows. Decor is nothing special in the dining rooms but the downstairs bar is very cozy and well done, very similar to Mark Birleys club, Annabels. My first course of sole goujons was good but the main course of Fettechini vongole was fantastic. The puddings were different and all were delicious, having tried some of each. The staff and their service is EXCELLENT. We were not paying, this was a mothering day lunch but I am sure it was £100 each and we did not have wine. Can highly recommend

It is exactly what is says on the door: a private club. Very nice welcome with outstanding service. If you are invited, take the chance and visit this relaxing place. Pay attention to the dress code and you can find the specifics on their website. Ground floor is for the lunch and meals, while underground has nice interior, with dimmed lighting and a bar.

This is a private members club so don't just turn up expecting to be fed. However, if you're invited my advice would be to accept! A great dinner, superb service, in a cosy dining room full of grown up art accompanied by a first class...

Met business clients here for breakfast. Fantastic egg white soufflé, fresh fruit, great coffee. Excellent service and very comfortable. My new favorite spot for business breakfast or with friends.

There's many private clubs, bars, restaurants in London. Which means that your average tripadvisor-traveler will only get in as a guest of a member.So I did, I was lucky enough to be invited for lunch - up and down in a daytrip from South France.The weather was "quite nice" for a mid-October lunch to enjoy the streetside terrace, also more discreet for a quiet talk along the roadside.The food was nice, the service efficient and discreet, the bill I simply do not wish to imagine, as a guest you don't, simple as that!Location is Mayfair, just behind the Dorchester, close to Hyde Park, and, lucky for me, walking distance to Victoria Station for my Gatwick Express.If and when you get invited, say "yes please".

As a non-member of the George I was there as for a birthday party. We were served a set menu of tuna tartare, veal and cheese selection, none of which displayed any particular culinary prowess. There was more flavour in the cress than the tuna! The cost of this food, without wine was £110. This price blew me away. Over one hundred pounds for a very simple albeit well cooked meal. For that price you can eat dinner at a Michelin starred establishment like Dabbous, or have the signature menu at far more impressive Hakkasan. The price for the food was simply unjustifiable and can only be summarised as a rip off, no matter how much money you have in your wallet. I could not have left with a worse taste in my mouth than knowing what culinary experience I 'could' have had at that price.

Father's Day lunch staff totally unable to cope. I have been a member for probably 20 years,standards have dropped over the past few years gone from bad to worse.6 people waitedan hour for our starters and then a further 20/30 minutes for main courses, that did notarrive , we left at this point . Maitre d'aplogised said "he could not control the kitchen"This just about sums it all up!

Treated to lunch on Mothering Sunday,just lovely,I had the tuna starter,beautifully pink, followed by omelette Arnold Bennett,loads of smoked haddock covered in a perfect sauce,light but tasty,The chicken from the trolley was cooked beautifully ,which my host chose,two guessed joined me with the omelette,and the other guest being South african chose steak,which he said was excellent.

No-one in London makes better porridge, kedgeree, cooked English breakfast, ham, eggs, English Breakfast tea or coffee. Fabulous service, discreet, very well looked after. Sadly, members only.

Unusually quiet in the bar on the Monday night when we visited. Upstairs in the restaurant all was as it usually is - well-organised, good but not obsequious service, paced order taking, delivery and consideration.This time I tried my favourite linguini with clams, followed by braised beef, which was mildly disappointing, however it was braised, it was beef however it lacked some body and some taste - a butcher's problem not the restaurant's. A shorter menu than I recall from a previous visit, combined with a well chosen wine list, the overall lasting impression is of a dinner to reflect positively upon and one of the most consistently pleasant and serious places to eat in London.

Have been lucky enough to have dined here many times always a terrific experience! The fish is cooked to perfection,recommend the seafood bisque,yellowtail sashimi etc-easy to say I have never been disappointed! My last visit was for a light lunch please try the eggs Royale,the eggs Benedict are great too!Best of all this is a restaurant with very personal touch.Also as a dog lover I adore the canine art!

This place hasn't been updated but still has the old English charm. Food wise you can't go wrong, it has always been consistent over the years so rest assured you will enjoy your meal there. It also can easily seat in the back area a party of 6.

George is a comfortable dining experience;consistantly good.I am familiar with the menu & the staff take good care of us,always.on this occasion had the 'recommended white truffle pasta'.the truffle was dry,bland,,dissapointing.the tagliateli was sticky,tasteless,clingy.not a good day for this exotic dish.expensive,so expected far better.Chef should revisit the quality of these ingrediants.why didn't I complain at the time;I was hosting the evening of important customers,& being the only one who ordered this(thankfully),'put up & shut up'.I'm a regular,so will have a word on my next visit.its the first time Chef has let me down,so will be back.

Was taken here for a treat and it was excellent in all areas. The food was superb and the service flawless. The only thing is that it is almost like a formal atmosphere, so if you are wanting to do business over dinner, it just doesn't work because the waiters hover

The staff at George make it. The venue is lovely, the food standard to good, but the staff just wonderful. They know everyone by name, and you really feel welcome when you arrive. I regularly go for breakfast, lunch and dinner and cannot complain about anything ...

We are lucky enough to be members. Very expensive, so The Prof only allows me to have one glass of champagne!! We always feel very welcome and treated like members of a big family.Great uncomplicated food and wine, and excellent choices of cocktails. Excellent service. The Prof is upset that the bar snack menu has been changed, but it is still a treat to pop in on the way homefrom work.Outside seating area is overflowing when the sun shines. However, it is still the best place in London to watch Ferrari's, Lambo's etc............. (Forget Top Gear - come to George !)

The dining experience at George is so well thought through that I fail to find any negatives. The food really is magnificent. You can opt to start the evening in the bar downstairs, and they'll have your first course ready by the time you finish your cocktails. The courses are cooked to perfection in a warm, cozy, and inviting setting with an open kitchen. The staff are kind and professional, just as you would expect from restaurants at this level. What differentiates those at George from many other upscale restaurants in London, however, is that their kindness feels genuine. Add to that the wonderful food, and you've got a place perfect for romantic occasions, family dinners, or business meals.
